yeah that’s right , or maybe the creator of Q was drunk …
Well, found Saiki again, been hangin out @ Gamespot. Here’s hoping…good gosh why does it have to be like this…
Q wasn’t created, just copy/pasted. They didn’t bother to give him anything unique or explain him in any way, he’s just some mysterious guy who probably won’t appear again. And he’s only related to the “downfall of shadaloo” as far as I know.
http://fightingstreet.com/folders/variousinfofolder/ripofffolder/ripoffpage2.html#Q
Q being a prototype Shadaloo monitor cyborg was my idea, but it’s not official. As aerialgroove says, he has no story. He’s just another one of SF3’s ripped off characters, only with this one they didn’t even bother to come up with a back story.
re: Dark Stalkers
I think it’s a total crock that Demitri was able to destroy Pyron, cause there’s no way that Demitri can blow up a planet. I think that Pyron, fighting under “earth rules”, was able to lock away the majority of his powers so that they weren’t a factor even if he wanted to use them. This is the only way I can see a being of Pyron’s class being destroyed even by someone as powerful as Demitri (Pyron is easily the most powerful entity that Capcom has ever created).
same thought hehe . but it would be cool that is Q’s a so called prototype cyborg that went berserk and goes boom boom !
Yes Pyron fought Demitri on his level and wound up getting absorbed by him IMHO. His true size is gigantic, about the size of the Milky Way or so, but he doesn’t fight that way because he is in it for the thrill of the fight. Unless he’s fighting someone his size, in theory anyway. That’s how he lost most likely. Well that’s how fighters are, no matter how strong they are the final boss winds up loosing somehow. Just be glad Demitri didn’t gain amazing powers at the very end because Morrigan was calling out his name over and over again all while Demitri started remembering all of the wonderful people he has met in this world, then becoming Super Vampirejin 6 or something…
about the Shinkai3000, the number besides Shinkai refers to maxiuam amount of meters of depth it can dive down to, which is 3,000 meters or 9,842 feet / 2 miles. it is design to withstand huge amounts of water pressure. Shinkai 3000 is refer to as a deep sub / deep submarine /
Is that just speculation? Or is there a source?

Rare unknown Rolento art
In the SFIII Fan Book there is a section with character art to train drawing them. On Rolento’s page there is a picture I haven’t seen anywhere else:
http://fightingstreet.com/pics/temp/various/rolento_unknown.jpg
What’s strange is, is that he has the look from FF2 and as far as I know he doesn’t wear that in any other game. Also the art looks a little American I think (not sure who at Capcom might have drawn that). I don’t know any other FF2 art that looks like it and I thought the bosses only have one art each and Rolento’s looks different.
What do you think?
Could’ve sworn I’ve seen that pic elsewhere in color.:wonder:
I WANT IT!
:wow:Eeeep!:shake: “hides in a hole”
I know that Vasili10 will be translating those… but I could’t help it. Sorry Vasili10.
Man, I knew that Capcom USA changed a few things… BUT NOT LIKE THIS!
Check this out (thanks to Boco the Chokobo for the translation):
STREET FIGHTER ZERO - VEGA (Japanese Version)
vs. Rose
ROSE: Vega…
Your error was in not leaving well enough alone!
ROSE: My mission is to seal you away. Psycho Power ends here!
VEGA: Oh? So there’s still someone who can use “Soul Power”.
VEGA: I’ll teach you. Power is meant to be used like this!
Ending
“…I will never understand those who speak of such trash as ‘justice’…”
“We hold the same power… Don’t make me laugh!”
Rose has been defeated.
Of the disciples of Psycho Power, only Vega remains.
Vega’s ambition is to blanket the world in darkness…
Is there no one who can stop him?
STREET FIGHTER ALPHA - M. BISON (American Version)
ROSE: Bison…
You have misused your powers.
It will no longer be tolerated.
BISON: They sent you to deal with me, did they?
Now you’ll learn what true power is!
Ending
Soul Power is nothing to me.
You wasted my time and your life.
So pitiful.
With Rose defeated Bison replays the battle in his mind over and over.
Is there no one to stop him from ruling the world?
From the original, japanese version, we can conclude a few things:
- Vega knew about Soul Power before meeting Rose, although it isn’t stated if it was his power or not, but he confirms that they both have the same power.
- The other two disciples that were learning Psycho Power (Soul Power?) when Vega killed his master are probably dead…
What do you guys think?
BTW, I’d like to know how many winning quotes each character has in each SF.
Thanks!
S’alright Lord Vega. Boco the Chokobo is the one who translated the scripts for Rockman X1 and X2 right? Awesome.
About the conclusion of Vega knowing about soul power, we learn that by the time Zero 3 rolled out, soul power was his power. The second conclusion you made isn’t so justified though, because Boco’s translation for this line is somewhat off:
Of the disciples of Psycho Power, only Vega remains.
Instead of “disciples”, it should be “successor”, and singular rather than plural. Since we don’t know if the other two students stayed with soul power or also shed the goodness in their souls to convert to psycho power, then they could be alive or dead for the former argument to hold true, but yeah only dead for the latter. Still, the ending script is from SFZ1, which back then assumed that the only branch between SF1 and SF2 was SFZ1, which isn’t the case anymore anyway.
Long answer for this one, gimme a little bit of time to sort.
Hey!
Yes, Boko the Chokobo is the one who did the Rockman X1 and X2 translations. A pity that he didn’t translate Rockman X3
About we knowing that Vega had Soul Power before Psycho… yes, we discovered it during the Zero 3 storyline, and when we think about
Rose’s account on Zero 1 after seeing her story in Zero 3, everything makes more sense (we talked about it already, I think it was on April or May).
But Vega’s Zero 1 accout is completely off. His battle with Gouken doesn’t have anything to do with his in game storyline. Although when we read "So, there’s someone who can still use Soul…"
we can only guess that Vega was defeating (or killing, although he did spared Gouken) the ones with the most powerful fighting styles.
In fact, Vega’s Zero 1 account has more to do with his Zero 2 and Zero 3 storyline than Zero 1
The second conclusion you made isn’t so justified though, because Boco’s translation for this line is somewhat off:
Of the disciples of Psycho Power, only Vega remains.
Instead of “disciples”, it should be “successor”, and singular rather than plural. Since we don’t know if the other two
students stayed with soul power or also shed the goodness in their souls to convert to psycho power, then they could be
alive or dead for the former argument to hold true, but yeah only dead for the latter.
Hum, but then that line wouldn’t make much sense: "Of the successor of Psycho Power, only Vega remains."
And why using successor instead of disciple? Normally in martial arts we use disciple instead of successor…
But in this case, Soul Power/Psycho Power is something pretty “secret”, so successor could be a better term.
BTW, Vega fighting Gouken was after Ryu fought Sagat right?
There was one line that I couldn’t really understand: Your error was in not leaving well enough alone!
This means that Vega should let things as they are (like not trying to take over the world)?
About the quotes, no hurry.
Thanks
Yeah too bad he didn’t go beyond X2.
Indeed Vega’s Z1 account doesn’t have anything to do with his game interactions, seeing that the account’s about his encounter with Gouken, and Gouken’s already dead by the time the game happens.
I was surprised they used “successor” there as well, which is a term you’d normally come across when reading about Guy, Zeku, and bushinryu. But it’s there, which goes to show you that SFZ1 by itself, even though they tried to make it the sole bridge between SF1 and SF2, still was convoluted and needed clearing up.
It’s not for certain that Vega vs. Gouken was after SF1. It could’ve been just before or even during SF1. The only time constraints that the battle has, is it has to be after Ryu & Ken have left the dojo with their training completed, and before Gouki challenges Gouken the second time and kills him.
What Rose said to Vega there was, “Your faults, can no longer be ignored!” aka “You’ve screwed up enough, and it stops here!”
Ok, here’s an early attempt at the mess:
SF1: 4 quotes and 1 ending statement, all generic of course.
SFZ1: everyone has 16.
SFZ2: everyone has 24, except for SnH Ryu at 9, and I’d imagine Cammy in Z2 Dash has at least 9 as well.
SFZ3: if Ingrid, Yun, Eagle, and Maki follow the same pattern as everyone before them, everyone has 45.
SF2:
-before SSF2, CPU Vega was given 6 random winning quotes, which disappeared after Hyper Fighting.
-SSF2X collection:
Chun Li, Dhalsim, Bison, Balrog: 5
Ken, Zangief, Sagat, Gouki: 6
Ryu, Guile, Blanka: 7
Vega: 8
Honda: 9
Dee Jay, Hawk, Fei Long: 10
Cammy: 12
-Revival just takes 4 of each fighter’s SSF2 quotes, except for Gouki whose 4 come from his Zero 2 set.
SF3: the major headache
-in NG, each character has 23 quotes, possibly 24 if anyone vs. Gill resulted in new statements with the Dreamcast’s version.
-in 2I, everyone has at least 27 quotes, I’m the least sure about this title, can you tell?
-in 3S, everyone has 27 quotes, possibly 28 if anyone vs. Gill resulted in new statements with home versions of 3S.
Fine details will of course be covered when the quotes will be actually translated.
Ya the plot guide should refer to Ryu & Ken’s style as a type of ansatsuken. To refer to their style as ‘Ansatsuken’ doesn’t make any sense. Admittedly, I only realized that after surfing mad Japanese SF fan sites and watching Hokuto no Ken.
