Here’s another one of Zangief’s quote’s
Zangief to Balrog(Vega)
“Hmmmmm, from the looks of things, are you a very shy man?”
Oh, and here’s the story that SFZ3 Advance had made for Maki, Yun and Eagle.
Maki - Searching the globe for Guy, who is MIA. She wants to find him to prove that she is the true heir to the Bushinryuu name.
Yun - Hears that Feilong is a drug dealer and sets out to find out the truth.
Eagle - Known as a living legend in his country as a bouncer, he sets out to perfect the beauty in his fighting style.
Igatona: Alpha Cody in Final Fight One reminisces that he stood in front of a dog before he got to fight Abigail in the Bay Area, so surely enough he and Guy had time for a breather before meeting Belgar uptown. That’s not to mention inbetween each of the six locations where the Mad Gear were stationed.
Saiki: Let me start off by saying that that Zangief quote is sick. But all the more reason to rub in the fact that he is gay, I suppose.
{Say, doe anyone think we should look for all of Zangief’s quotes in SFZ3 and CvS2 for kicks? And maybe check out all of Eagle’s quotes while we’re at it? :lol:}
Now for my thoughts on those new storylines:
Maki - Searching the globe for Guy, who is MIA. She wants to find him to prove that she is the true heir to the Bushinryuu name.
This could mean one of two things-
Capcom overlooked canon again and changed it so that Guy is no longer MIA after Final Fight 3, which rules out the possiblity of being killed by Rose, and perhaps is no longer Bushin master providing that Maki beat him.
They payed very close attention to canon this time and made it so that Maki was too impatient for Guy to return, thinking he was MIA while still tracking down Bison, and set off to find him. She could either be unsuccessful in meeting up with Guy, or if she does, lose to him so that she’ll continue to search for him for a rematch while missing her one chance to see him again in Metro City during Final Fight 3 before he DOES turn up MIA. This actually maintains coherency with what she’s been officially stated to be doing as of now.
Yun - Hears that Feilong is a drug dealer and sets out to find out the truth.
Don’t care about Fei-Long, but at least these two are becoming more developed, even though this story does sound rather silly. Is Fei-Long an idol to Yun now? This could certainly go along the lines of Sakura seeking out Ryu, which in this case is better IMO because this time, it’s to confirm Yun’s greatest fear or to get him and Fei-Long caught in a frame-up.
**Eagle - Known as a living legend in his country as a bouncer, he sets out to perfect the beauty in his fighting style. **
Cody mentioned staying in front of a dog, which means that he took a nap during the night there or something? I dunno… can’t really trust the shoddy translation but erm… yea, whatever.
Street Fighter Alpha 3 for the Gameboy Advance tells the character’s initial story in arcade mode when you pick that character just like all the other versions do. I believe that’s where Saiki got them from ^^
I dunno whether to take Maki’s and Yun’s too seriously unless they’re given an actual storyline sometime. Currently the game has no boss dialogues or character-specific endings so Capcom could just plug in whatever they want into that character’s beginning storyline description (what with the fact that Guy’s gone missing after SFA3 to the best of my knowledge and Yun’s not exactly supposed to be that old during that time… unless Capcom really IS trying to completely forget timelines and character aging)
Here’s their bio info from the game, I think
Maki:
Height: 169 cm
Weight: 52 kg
Blood type: B
Three size:
B: 85
W: 60
H: 88
From: Japan
Yun:
Height: 173 cm
Weight: 62 kg
Blood type: B
Three size:
B: 102
W: 73
H: 85
From: Hong Kong
Eagle:
Height: 184 cm
Weight: 75 kg
Blood type: AB
Three size:
B: 105
W: 80
H: 86

Maki grew a little and gained weight, apparently. Original FF2 height and weight numbers for her were lower…
I just figured Twelve to be another shapeshifter, didn’t really see any connection to good ol’ Robert Patrick. But who knows what goes on in the minds of them Capcom developers.
As far as speaking, I think Twelve just makes those weird noises he does in the game. I highly doubt he spouts out “one, zero, zero, one, zero,…”. Sorry, I can’t answer the other questions - not the biggest fan of Twelve.
Now my own question, in SFIII, when you get the ‘Judgment’ scenario after the third round - is that Cammy as one of the judges? There’s a short girl wearing a large coat and fur hat (?). She’s blond and has Cammy’s trademark pigtails. Does All About say anything in the index section?
The Judges in SFIII are all in the Index section of AAC with different names so the blond haired one is not Cammy. Yeah, for the longest time I wondered if that was Cammy, if the Indian girl was Sally, if the Asian one was Chun-Li, but I’m sure if this was the case, these pics would appear In Chun-Li’s, Cammy’s, etc., sections as their sections are so thorough that they even include background appearances. Not to mention that Sally even appears in the book. Very thorough.
Yes, I was very confused by that list of female characters that appeared in SF3, until I found out about the judges. They all have names, but I’m too lazy to find them again.
My opinion on Ryu’s motivation on why it wasn’t changed(For anyone cares). WHy he is always popular.
Because everybit of players plays to win. Everyone plays to be better. It’s like everyone is Ryu even a little.
The reason Ryu is not easily replaced, because he is the gaming version of us(competitive players like me O_o’).
Ever noticed why KOF’s popularity shifted from Kyo to K’… because they can’t be Kyo. They can’t go prancing around trying to rid the world of Orochi, nor they could be K’ and destroying every bird nest around.
For me Ryu’s story has struck our id(subconscious).
That’s also the reason why Terry fandom faltered. Because he is losing the need to be better and he is getting content at where he is.
Terry Blowhard’s popularity faltering? I wish. :bluu:
It’s characters like him that are made for poor saps who wish they could be cool. They give SNK players the idea that any character that devotes his life to fighting and nothing but, such as Ryu, automatically sucks upon creation. :fury:
Their influence also dictates what people think Capcom should be doing with SF, which is even more upsetting because the SF and KOF universes are two totally different things. Give Ryu a girlfriend? Bullshit. Have Ryu change out of that musty old gi? Maybe, but why won’t they do the same with Ryo Sakazaki? Give Ryu a life and personality? Hmm, last time I checked, he’s a reserved fighter who cares about his opponents’ perspectives and has plenty of friends, lots of money from winning in fights, and a neat sense of humor (see Ryu vs. Ibuki quote in SF3). What more do you want? Do we really need another flashy fighter like Ken?
If Terry wasn’t so popular still, he wouldn’t be as annoying and neither would his little Blowhard brother Andy. And sadly, while Ryu is a good character, I doubt he’s getting the credit he deserves because otherwise, we wouldn’t have people calling him boring and one-sided.
EDIT: For the record, I hold no strong bias towards SNK. Just main characters that are popular enough to cause resentment in fans towards everything that isn’t that character. I hate Fatal Fury.
No, I don’t think Terry made that decision. It happened with Kyo and K’(God, I hate those characters). In my opinion, Kyo and K’ are shallow characters… They didn’t even have any character development, but they were given so much push that made them so popular(kinda like Goldberg).
Which made me realize that Kyo and K’ actually has the same attitude. They didn’t even differ from each other, other than their looks.
Terry has his popularity faltering because of Kyo and K’. He was taken out of being the SNK mascot. The flameusers occupy the topseats now. I remember weeks ago, some fans came to our local arcade and saw Rock. They laughed at Rock and said “Look at Capcom, trying to copy K’.” Now these are SNK fans mind you… they only reside within KOF. Stupid People.
I hate people who worship SNK and treat Capcom like dirt. It’s like nothing from Capcom has ever been good. (They also told me that Metal Slug owns Devil may Cry for free)
Using AAC, All About SF3NG The Fighting Bible and a Japanese/English Dictionary, I’ve translated the names of the seven judges who appear in SF3. Granted, to translate it perfectly, you really need a good grasp of both dialects which I don’t have since I don’t speak/read Japanese. Anyway, here’s how the names translate and if I’m off, trust me it’s not by much as you can see the names look nothing like Eifie, Cammy, Hoimei and Shaomei (Yun and Yang’s girlfriends). Anyone with access to these books (It’s easy with AASF3 as all the judges are on page 128) and can translate Japanese flawlessly please don’t hesitate to correct me.
