Warriors Fate: Street Fighter story thread, revived

Not solely. If Belger owned a corporation, he would’ve had to fund Mad Gear through legitimate means, like pretending to donate to charities or selling company shares. The rest of Mad Gear’s money would’ve been accumulated from illegal activities of course.

Hey vasili, does that source say anything else about the bosses or other characters?

@vasili10: thanks about the gouki info, didn’t know that either…

edit: received a mail confirmation from club udon, that my street fighter eternal challenge book has been shipped…
Nice ^^ won’t receive it until 6-8 weeks though.

vasili: re: Gouki’s birthyear

Oh, it’s worse than that. If I’m not mistaken, I think Gouki’s birthday has been listed like that since he first appeared in EGM. O_O

Kataklysmic:

Yeah, the more I thought about it, the more I realised Belger probably had to funnel money to other accounts (controlled by Mad Gear) so as to not draw suspicion. Sodom most likely was the one in charge of those accounts. I wonder if Sodom has a degree in Accounting or something?

It’s called smoking marijuana cut people a break once in a while.

Speaking of older things I forgot about and will probably get slammed for forgetting since it’s something that’s been known by everyone for the last 20 years lol - I noticed in the English version of SF Eternal it says that Guile doesn’t like fermented soy beans and Ryu is the one who introduced them to Guile. The plot guide says he was forced to eat them when he was in Japan, but not by who. Any more information on this? What does the Japanese version of SF Eternal say about this regarding Guile’s dislikes, is it the same as the English version? Just wondering.

It was gouken not gouki that appeared in EGM, right ?
Then they made gouki in ssf2t.

Absolutely Kataklysmic. Check out my posts on pages 288 and 289 for other things concerning aerialgroove’s shared scans. A lot of the boss info was already in the guide (I saw “promoter” for Sodom but not “treasurer” so my bad), so I mostly translated “mini” character info.

You’re very welcome Lonewolf_Fenrir.:china:

Yep, that’s true too. I remember even EGM including the note “maybe 48?” when talking about “hey, here’s the cinema scene only Japanese players got to see”.

English Eternal and Japanese Eternal say the same thing sano, and they both leave out the “in Japan” phrase that’s in all other sources giving Guile’s SF2 stats, including AAC. Guile was offered them by Ryu, and this was in Japan. By contrast, and this isn’t found in AAC strangely enough, just in the SFZ3 Official Guidebook, his Zero 3 stats list his dislike as being healthy food in general, while his like stays the same regardless of the game, American coffee.

I think you mean Sheng Long and EGM’s hoaxes, which Capcom USA used to think that was Gouken, but Capcom Japan never did.

Yeah that’s pretty strange, thanks though. Nice to know that Ryu and Guile did lunch once or something.

Well it’s another proof that some of the SFII cast (probably all) know each other. Not that unimportant.

And we know that him and Nash like to smoke from several official drawings so they enjoy an unhealthy Western livestyle.

Oh yeah…i’m dumb, i already knew that… i guess i said gouken when i wanted to say sheng long ^^
About gouki being in EGM i didn’t know, do you or someone here have some scans ? I’d like to see it. (not saying it’s not true, just want to see it :looney: )

Ok so this is what RedCylcone says about the paragraph that we thought means “Chun-Li is a reason for Zangief to shave” in the Gamest issue 61:
"He would like to rub his mustache on her (men sometimes play with children and rub their mustache on them)."
To me this sounds like he sees her as a child and wants to cuddle with her because she’s so adorable. I asked again if it says something about shaving. I’ll let you know what he says.

Without being asked for it, RedCyclone translated the texts to these Complete File drawings:

?? are quotation marks I think

"Balrog

Ugly face!
This is totally a face of the losers.

Blanka

girl1 ??Who is he? ??
girl2 ??He cannot be the student of our university.??
A salesclerk ??Will you please go over there???

Chun-Li

A bad face!
I think that there is not the person who wants to marry me.

Dhalsim
I bathe with an elephant(kodaru) in a river.
It is very happy time.

E. Honda
A sumo season begins.
An intense fight begins again.

Guile
Guile is working in the armed forces.
??The right side is him??

Ken
Because he was strong, I was surprised.
KEN prepared for a rematch and investigated one’s(KEN’s) weak point.
RYU! The next will win to you!

M. Bison
M.Bison talks cheerily in a bar.
??When I tempted a girl, there was the man who disturbed.
??I hit him three times and defeated it.??

Ryu
In a match performed in Asia, RYU won.
A village mayor said. ??Marry my daughter.??
RYU was troubled.

Sagat
It is pleasure to fight.
It is happy to win.

Vega’s hat
The Vega fought against Ryu intensely.
He became missing afterwards.
However, he will return.
He is an avenger then.

Zangief
When I walked New York, I caught a thief.
If there are many crimes, I am frightened.

You please revise these for more natural English."

The similarity between Balrog and Chun-Li is not only in the picture but also in the text. In SFIIWW it seems Ryu was the winner of the tournament.

Update (new email by RC):
There are two meanings in “JORI”.
The one is “a sound of the shavers”.
The one is already a sound to force a mustache on another person.
In this case I think that the second opinion is right.

By the way, the shavers is Japanese and says “HIGE SORI”.

Don’t forget to visit the two links in my last post on the page before, if you haven’t yet.

Some evidence to support Ryu winning that’s good. Thanks!

That’s a laugh. RC believes his interpretations are more natural English, and for that he completely omits entire kanji among other things? I’m speechless.

The sound of unshaven hair being brushed is “jori-jori.” “Hige jori” I couldn’t find anywhere, so I made the next least-altering step and interpreted the phrase as “hige sori,” which means “shaving” from the dictionary server I often use. This assumed a typo in the print, which is also not unheard of unfortunately (very, very seldom do I come across cases like that). But yeah, “shitai” does mean “want to do”, so the phrase is either “wants to shave for her” or “wants to beard-brush her”.

Because it needs to spread to all corners of the internet:

Can anyone translate the Necro hk comic posted by Sano? Thanks!

you have to learn how SRK works (especially General Discussion)

I think you misunderstood him, vasili10, he meant I should use his translations and make them sound more natural in English, not that his translations are more natural English. He also said the sound thing wasn’t in the dictionary because it’s colloquial. I also think it makes perfectly sense and does not conflict with what you just said (beard brush).

LOL, Tastumaki Senpuukyaku.

Hadoken = hurricane punch ? lol.
And tatsumaki senpuukyaku = cyclone kick
Thanks aerialgroove for the link
@kev_the_bev: yeah, no worry, i ignored that ^^

If that’s what he meant by his sentence, sorry I misunderstood, and all I can say is be careful if you do use them; he makes several things too cleanly defined than they ought to be.

Sounds being colloquial won’t necessarily keep them from being in dictionaries; I’ve seen otherwise with several onomatopoetic words in my past searches.

Here’s what I want translated, if it’s not too much trouble. If you posted it before, could you send me a link to the post? Same with the doujinishi. I think these are in chinese.
