Well give it a try, I’ve seen some funny computer translations.
About the character section, I want to add the stats and basic story as well as any official information from Japanese books and of course relations to other characters. It’s a little tricky as some characters change from game to game (such as Cammy) and most of SFII is changed or exterminated by SFZ3, so giving each character a separate entry for each game might be logical but also a hell lot of work (as I want to include every Final Fight opponent). I guess the best way would be to give the characters a description following the order of the game releases, not storylinewise, so one can see how the information about the character was later changed.
Here’s what the issue looks like:

I’ll see what I can do for a snapshot.
Hmm, maybe I overlooked a character or something. I’ll check the quote again.
Checked it again. Well, okay. I don’t see “directly” anywhere in the quote, or “hit” either. “Blow” and “round” are the same in this case (round as in series of hits), and we’re both talking about the same head area. Red Cyclone’s interpretation is a little too abrupt for Chun Li’s speech style, but anyway.
Here’s a slight revision for both the quote and the explanation sano.
“From one finished round, I’d conclude it was a bit on the afterbrain wasn’t it…”
So she isn’t calling him stupid, but instead points out that she probably got him in the back of his brain pan, and a little too much to boot. Kind of like, “Ouch, gotcha in the back of the head a little too good didn’t I?” Thanks for pointing it out aerialgroove, I fudged half of that one up, sorry about that.:wasted:
She’s so cute. Kicks you in the head and says “Gomenna!” ^^
“Gomen ne!” but yep.
She’s even more sugary in Puzzle Fighter:
“Yurushite!” (“Forgive me!”)

I don’t know if you guys have seen this yet, but here, you can download most of the pages from the SF3NG art book. Who can tell me what the text generally covers? Designer notes? I’m mainly interested in the text from the two pages displaying select screen and lose art in each character’s section, and the sketch pages at the end.
You can also find the Capcom vs. SNK artbook on this site. I haven’t been lucky unzipping it since I don’t seem to have the right applications. It’s times like this I wish I wasn’t a Mac user.

Street Figher Eternal’s up there as well. Not that you’d really need to go check it out, but since I can’t open that file either, it’s be nice if someone can post up some page scans.
Here’s something else. Why is Slam Masters not featured in any Capcom art books? Is it because Tetsuo Hara did all the illustrations?
This one’s more or less the Chinese equivalent of AASF3: The Characters. As far as text content, the Fighting Bible has everything it has and more. If you want me to decipher something, try asking aerialgroove or someone else with it to supply the corresponding Japanese page or pages.
Kairi DID kill akuma right?
Some asshole on wiki keeps editing it out and says Akuma spared Kairi but their energies made Garuda appear
Is it the same person who resurrected the denjin hadou thread in the comic books forum?
idk…he’s listed as a GOLD TSG
Ironically, that Neofcon fool edited it back to the right info…
Kataklysmic, it’s not possible to put all old fighting game art by capcom into one book (at least non-thumbnail sized). They had to decide and probably thought it wouldn’t be as popular, unfortunately.
I don’t get what having a Mac has to do with not being able to open a ZIP file as the Mac already comes with Software to open it and you can download additional software for free. I had no problems opening it on a Mac, maybe you didn’t wait till it loaded completely, pm me for further assistance.
Inside is a .cbr file with the CVS1&2 full body art, nothing else. Use the free application “Comical” to view it.
All I can say is that this thread’s progenator believes so, if memory serves me well, but I have no idea where there’s proof for it.
Another good program for the mac is Stuffit.
It’s not that I didn’t fully download a file. I just didn’t know what applications to look for to unzip them. Some are made for PCs only, and some Mac only.
But thanks for the input.
Don’t want to sound too regulative but this is not the right forum to discuss it, like I said, pm me for further assistance. Try the latest free version of StuffIt and Comical to open and view the files.
Hey guys ^^
Still working on that french to english translation stuff, i’d like to ask you if this is “comprehensible” ( :looney: ):
Adon has participated at the tournament street fighter I to prove at the world he was not just the student of Sagat. However during his fight against Ryu, he showed himself presumptuous and Ryu beat him with a single shoryuken, which put end to his chances of prove anything at the world.
After the end of the tournament, Adon is furious… He estimates that the Muay Thai has been dishonoured by Ryu and the defeat of Sagat. He isn’t angry however not to Ryu but he reproaches to his former master of not having known respect the name of the Muay Thai and finds that this one doesn’t deserves more the title of emperor. He searches then to beat him and manages to, Sagat being too enraged by his defeat against Ryu to do a good fight. Adon is then the new emperor of the Muay Thai, but that has a price, he passes several month to heal of his wounds.
That’s the translation of the first two paragraphs from my adon bio (missing words from my english dictionnary file make the other ones not suitable for this “test” ^^ ).
Well tell me what you think about it…Of course it’s not the best english, as it’s translating almost word by word, but i think it’s still much better than french for anybody who cannot read it
It didn’t change the content, only messed the grammar a bit, I’d say you could use it.
Cool then…Anyway, it’ll get better as time goes, since i’ll add more and more things in the dictionnary…it should be good enough to use on every page at the end of the week.
Still need to input quite a bunch of words in the list heh, else half the pages won’t be understandable…
Have you made up your mind about your characters section ? Or maybe tested a bit ? ^^
Well I thought maybe some of you could tell me what would be better or what you would prefer. I guess I’ll make one page for each character only and list the info from game to game (SFII before SFZ/A). I’ve thought about a dynamic list, where you can check on and off if you want to see selectable, non selectable, non-canon characters and so on, also for the artwork (characterwise, game wise, art stylewise). But the server I have the site on doesn’t support such things (php), I have to ask some homies how to do that.
