Dee’s image from the Vampire Graphic File. On the same page you can see the Soul Stealer and Marionette. Oh and on the bottom are all of Dee’s quotes in Japanese. Not to mention a complete movelist. Sniff, sniff, this book is beautiful man! :lovin:
Really? I should be asking you some questions then. ryo from The Red Cyclone doesn’t have answers for me, not even s-kill from Capcom does!
Got a whole bunch of Capcom cards in SVC Cardfighters DS since I had to collect 3,000 bucks to play one lady in the game so I could bet it all and after I won I got 6,000 bucks, more money to buy Capcom cards. I got 60 Capcom cards in total, need 40 more - and still no Ryu, Chun-Li or Ingrid arg… As usual, gramatical and spacing errors are SNKP’s and not mine.

sano:
Thanks! The scan is a little small on my screen (1680 x 1024), but good enough. It is me, or does he look a bit like Sephiroth with brown hair?
vasili10:
No, I didn’t say it was my job, I said it was supposed to be my job! Ask your questions anyway and I will try to answer them! They may not be the correct answers, but I can give you answers regardless!
Oops. Guess I needed to say “I should’ve been asking you questions then”, since you said “was supposed to be”. Wrong tense, my bad Ultima. Here goes:
pic #5 on this page: http://www.thefirstplace.it/thezeroplace/tzp06/street_fighter_history_03.html
Is it official, and especially if it is, where is it from? ryo from The Red Cyclone thinks it may be fanart.
Golden Dragon:
That’s alright man, I either asked ryo for answers or found them myself. That video was from '88, not '98 (would’ve been sweet if it was though)
re: pic
Looks like a prototype Dan (according to the text, Dan was originally supposed to be a non-joke character, a malevolent student of Gouki… I don’t recall hearing that before). I would say it IS official, since every other picture (?) on that site is. It’s certainly drawn in the same style as the others. If it’s legit, it’s probably from some arcade file that we haven’t hitherto come across.
I didn’t know that Alex is a reused design from prototype Alpha Ken.
I don’t know what to make of those two statements Piero gives. He’s told me that the article (each of the three parts) works off of sources a friend of his has, and all the info and pics have been relayed over to him for the article.
The problem is that not all sources used are listed. That and all the info revealed by the article writer being second-hand makes things questionable. As we speak Piero still hasn’t gotten ahold of his friend to find out where that sketch comes from, and that’s the only art in his articles that I’ve never found anywhere else, and no one else has either.
Masahiko Nakahira’s Street Fighter Alpha Manga volume I translated in English came out today so make sure you pick it up if you can!
Side topic: Does anyone know if Capcom ever made up official names for the normal attacks and throws in the Marvel games? Not even Kao Megura’s FAQs, which are normally a good source for translated materials, has such things listed.
Also, does anyone know if any source has the official move names for the normal/throw attacks of Fei Long, T.Hawk, Dee Jay, Guile, and any/all of the Sf3 characters? Thanks.
Possibly, but I can’t be sure because I have no Marvel crossover books at this time. There weren’t very many published.
For SF3 all of the characters’ normal/throw attack names can be found in the first 3S Gamest mook or the 3S Dreamcast guide, or the giant 3S mook that combines both previous 3S Gamest mooks, the one I have.
The Playstation Zero 3 Official Guidebook Challenger’s Edition has normal/throw attack names for all of the PS’ Z3 cast except for Guile’s normals and all of SnH Ryu’s / Shin Gouki’s. I imagine that the latter two have a normal/throw repretoire similar or identical to Ryu and Gouki, so Guile’s normals name list can be found in a SF2 source: the best would be probably the SSF2 or SSF2X Gamest pre-mooks or the GBA’s Revival guide.
The Japanese expression “giving an oni a metal rod” means taking something strong and making it even tougher. Sodom slightly botches the saying below on metal, hence the mispelling, but what he ends up saying sounds almost like “giving an oni money.” With that said, enjoy:
Sodom from SFZ
Original account from SF2 Himitsu Hyakka
From the period of Final Fight, as a leader of the criminal group Mad Gear Sodom called out as “Shogun”, without the short metal truncheons in both hands, taken up bewitching Muramasa sabres, he was with an unrivaled might…
One day, for Sodom, defeated by a user of the old Japanese budo school “bushinryu”, even Mad Gear was crushed. “Surely you’re misunderstanding about Japan. Do more training!” The young user of bushinryu, for Sodom, like that, went away somewhere.
From there, Sodom from America turned up at a Zen temple in the Hida mountain recesses, also an amazing training began. Struck by a waterfall while chanting a “nen-boo”, drawing water with “zehn”, he acquired ultimate “sah-toh-ree” about true “boo-she-doh”.
Dohdohdohh! Driving moves of super power into large Japan cedars, Sodom, understood himself as having become historically strongest.
Now, for the sake of Mad Gear’s resurrection, the struggle for Sodom is to begin!
Official Story from Gamest SFZ and AASFZ
Struck by a waterfall, there was a man babbling nothing but merely “nen-boo” repeatedly.
His name is Sodom. Having comprehended “boo-she-doh”, in order to profit from the essence of Japanese budo, flying solo from America it is that he visited a Zen temple in the Hida mountain recesses.
Previously he was a leader of Mad Gear. At this time he was rightly with the feeling of having earned his own way. Armed with bewitching Muramasa sabres in both hands, his appearance to the struggle with defending armor and a helmet on his body like many men of valor, with respectful appreciation of his feelings he was being called "Shogun."
However, such a daily dream was also suddenly crushed. By a user of a so-called old Japanese budo school “bushinryu”…
"Surely you’re misunderstanding about Japan. Devote yourself more."
Those words are now but carving into his chest. As the greatest humiliation.
…had he mistakenly considered himself? What is true Japanism? And of the Japanese spirit?
With arms folded in meditation numerous emerging thoughts vanish within his head. These were whisked away as he was being pounded with the silent pursuit of knowledge.
How many days likely elapsed. For him an empty mental state at last, namely “sah-toh-ree” he grasped.
Having brought in from curio hands powerful Japanese emblems “ji-tte” grasped tightly, the ultimate Japanese martial arts acquirement with joy, Sodom trembled. His own moves driven into large Japan cedars, he could sense the genuine power, his emotional voice would arise.
“I finally did it. This is, giving the ogre a meetal rod!”
That next day he began the homeward journey. For the sake of achieving the next ambition. Having received aid from the Zen temple’s chief priest he befriended in appreciation, the rest of the training monks he bid farewell as he was journeying out. Seeing his retreating figure the chief priest to say murmured. “Nay, he was an enthusiastic foreigner. However he did various things as he pleased, what in the world did he come for?”
Next time, Adon. Thanks as always minna-san. Long live THE thread.
Thanks, awesome as always! The odd ones are my favorites.
Heh, a lot of Sodom’s is actually what happened in Final Fight Revenge Even right down to the word “Japanism”.
Guess we can say that at least that part of Final Fight Revenge is confirmed to have happened, then (not that that’s particularly surprising).
Shouldn’t Ken’s gi look new?
LOL I dunno. Comparison by Inkblot anyways.

Akiman didn’t draw a girl of the month this month for Gamaga magazine. I don’t know if that’s all over and done with or if he just skipped a month.
Hey Aerialgroove? That “Necros” artwork on the Street Fighter III: New Generation art page? Which book is that from?
Now THAT is how you do hi-res. GG fans can go to hell.
Just chiming in to say a big thank you to aerialgroove and vasili10. Thanks to their help, I have gotten my hands on All About Zero 2, All About Zero 2 Alpha, All About Zero 3, All About Street Fighter EX (hey, it was cheap), and Capcom vs. SNK Official Guide book (ditto), all ordered from Yahoo Japan. Thanks a lot guys!
Now, I just need to find out which SF3 books have frame data and maybe pick those up (while I’m interested in Third Strike data, since what’s online I find a bit suspicious, I’m more interested in the data for NG and 2I), as well las the Yoga Book Hyper (or any SF2 book with data), and I should be good. Any help there fellas? You guys rock.
By any chance, does anyone have this book or know what it’s about?
As noted before, I’m looking for frame data and official move names from as many Capcom games as I can get. I was wondering if maybe anyone had this book (it looks like it deals with the Saturn version of XSF) and could tell me what it contains. Thanks.
