Warriors Fate: Street Fighter story thread, revived

Do you happen to have a picture of the cover? Thanks!

No, I don’t know what it looks like. NKI knows, maybe we should ask him.

Those pics… did you scan them yourself or did you find them online? Cause they really don’t give me any kind of info about what character details they go into. :expressionless:

I got them from the internet. I remember that Yoga book now, talked to vasili10 about it.

You’re welcome folks. I’ve pretty much given you all the info I know concerning books with frame data and move names in your PM’s Ultima. I don’t know of any source strictly for 2I, just NG and 3S, seven books in all, three or four with stuff you’d want.

Not sure if this is where this should go, but it was the best place I could think of at the moment…

Does anyone know where I can find the lyrics for ā€œReady to Fight!ā€, the vocal version of the SSF2/SSF2T credit roll? I just came across this song today and I love it. Thanks!

EDIT: One off-topic question:

I was able to get all of Felicia’s VS normal attacks’ names from an archive of dashtaisen.com. But does her old, two-hit c.MP from VH have a name of its own?

Below you can see Akuma’s(Gouki’s) Udon-ized sprite! :lovin:

Felineki - Don’t know what CD has that song. You may want to PM Ansatsuken-TKD since he has a bunch of SF albums I don’t have yet lol! I can tell you it’s not on the SF Tribute Album, SF2 Vocal Album and the SF Artist Image Album if it helps narrow down your search.

Awesome!

Form what I’ve read, it was on the SF2 Complete File album, as well as the Vocal Arrange disc that was part of the uber-rare SF2 Collector’s Box.

felineki: re: Felicia

HUh. I coulda sworn I had posted a reply to felineki here, but either the forum ate my post or I forgot to click ā€œPostā€. :expressionless:

Anyway, Gamefan’s old Vampire Hunter and Vampire Saviour books had the names for all normal attacks (a rarity in english guides; AFAIK only those two and legendary Versus SFA2 guide have them), and I have both, so I’ll look it up when I get home.

re: XSF book

Also, I went and bought that XSF book. Only cost 500 yen (though of course, by the time you factor in shipping, it’ll cost 4 times that, so I’m gonna have to order some other stuff to make it worthwhile). I guess I’ll know what it’s about in a month’s time. I’m hoping it at least has the name for every normal attack. Frame data would be nice but I’m not counting on it.

vasili10:

I need move names/frame data for SF3 games. You say it’s only available for 3S and NG. I’ll take what I can get. Can you please identify which book has what?

I see some auctions for the SFA2 official challenger’s guide. I’m still contemplating if I want to get it just to have the move names for A3 Fei Long, T.Hawk, and Dee Jay, because it won’t be much good for anything else.

SF2 stuff should be covered by the Yoga Book Hyper. I wouldn’t mind getting something for the earlier SFs, but it might be overkill. It would only be for move names anyway, and I expect all of them to be in the Yoga Book Hyper. IIRC the only normal that was ever removed and never put back was Blanka’s old c.s.HP in WW (Rolling Nail). Some of Honda’s normal get swapped around from SSF2 to ST though… But then again, it may not matter since I can’t read the kanji for those anyway (note to vasili: I’m compiling a list of more moves I need translated. I have AASFZ3 but most kanji I can’t read, so a few normals here and there - and in the case of Honda, practically his entire move list - I’ll need help with. Thanks). :stuck_out_tongue:

I’d love to know if Capcom extended their obsessive naming qualities to their other games, particularly Final Fight 1,2,3, Aliens vs. Predator, and the Muscle Bomber series. But I don’t know if anyone has the answer to those questions. :expressionless:

There’s a Gamefan SF3NG guide out there as well; stumbled upon it one day at a used games shop.

For NG, there’s either the NG Gamest mook, with Alex on the cover, or the AASF3 Fighting Bible. For 3S, there’s the 3S Gamest mook with Gouki, Ryu and Chun Li on the cover, or the DC 3S official guide with Chun Li and Gill on the cover. IMO, you’d be better off with the 2 books rather than the 2 mooks for your purposes, and they’ll most likely be easier to find and cheaper to get.

Keep’em coming, in small doses please.

vasili10:

I have the Gamefan NG guide (I actually bought it when it was new!). It does not have the names of every normal. In fact, it doesn’t list the proper names of all the non-super moves - all the JPN moves are listed in english (many of them wrongly I suspect, but I’m not sure), even the common ones like Hadouken and Shoryuken.

That book also has some of the the most hilariously pretentious writing I’ve ever come across. It’s just jaw-droppingly awful. The section on parrying… my god. I’ll post it up here some time next week (I’m virtually never online on weekends) if anyone cares to read it.

re: books

So just get All About SF3 and the DC 3S Guide with Chunners and Gill on the cover. Gotcha. Thanks Vasili.

Say, does anyone know if there was a guide for PSP SFA3? That might be the only place where I might be able to find names for Eagle’s normals. :expressionless:

Ah. I knew the Gamefan guide had errors, but since you listed the guides for VH and VS as normals sources, I thought maybe there’d be a similar ray of hope for the SF3 guide as well. Guess not.

There are two AASF3’s; look for the Fighting Bible as I mentioned earlier. You’re welcome Ultima.

I don’t know of any guide for Alpha 3 Max/ Zero 3 Double Upper; if there was one I would’ve probably perused it in a bookstore or bought it by now.

Thanks, Ultima! :bgrin: Speaking of Blanka’s old cs.HP, I managed to actually get him to do it in ST using ArtMoney hacking. So it’s still there, although you can’t actually use it in normal gameplay.

Uh oh. Akuma’s looking good, but less than perfect. The hair needs to be bigger, and the kanji on his back needs to be centered. But I love the Hurricane Kick sprite.

Interview

A little too muscular. The legs looks like they couldn’t carry that giant upper body. Sort of like Johnny Bravo. Still good to see new SF graphics. A good idea would have been to just use the original sketch art as a base for the proportions.

I’ve added some more of the interview with the SFII cover artist to fightingstreet.com

Zangief portrait

http://blogs.capcomusa.com/blogs/digital.php/2007/06/08/p319#more319

the Producer Rey states that Akuma was intentionally beefed up.

His eyes are too small. I don’t get it. That isn’t the fierce looking Zangief we’ve known for so many years. I dread to see characters with plastic facial expressions, namely Chun and Cammy. I’ve always hated that about the comics.

Word.

for a more serious look the mouth should be close.

this isn’t a very good job. but here’s Zangief with bigger eyes and a close mouth.

Felineki:

Drat. I forgot to write the name for Felicia’s c.MP down. I’ll try and remember this evening.

vasili:

Already got the AASF3 Fighting Bible in an auction. The DC guide is proving to be a bit of a pain though. Somebody outbid me on one auction, and now I’m forced into another, more expensive one. I’m not sure if I’m willing to pay for a book whose info I just need to cross-check with what I already have.

I have a request: To anyone who has the SF Zero 3 Official Fighting Guide for PSX (or any SFZero3 book that displays all the normals for all the home characters), could someone please scan for me the entries dealing with M.Bison/Balrog (Boxer), Fei Long, Dee Jay and T.Hawk? Guile too, though I hear the official guide doesn’t have them. Or if that’s too much (since I know there’s no frame data in that book), just the pages that list their normals? I’m kinda broke and it’s a bit much to shell out for a book that has maybe 3 pages of info that I need. Thanks…
