Warriors Fate: Street Fighter story thread, revived

http://mitleid.cool.ne.jp/vega-washizaki.htm
I never got that the guy on the right is not Kato but that both Kato and Vega are based on him.
What’s the name of that character? Washizaki?

Could one of you clear this up? Thanks!

About JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure’s Stroheim recently mentioned by Kataklysmic.
There was some scan floating around with Stroheim posing just like Vega (dictator) in SFII, doing the “head off” pose. Anyone got it? Thanks a lot!

About Master Of The Flying Guillotine, the stuff I was told about it wasn’t all that. Except for a tournament and the Indian with long arms, the movie has nothing to do with Street Fighter.

Was Zangief’s supposed homosexuality ever backed by canon?

Never clearly. It depends on your interpretation. To me ? no, to others ? yes.
Some text said he would get shaved for Chun-Li but that was from SFII. Since his look is based on Gouda from Fist Of The North Star, and almost all bad guys in Fist Of The North Star have an irokese haircut, I doubt that the haircut makes him gay, too, which was one “fact” on the list.

What stays is that he doesn’t like young beautiful women in SFZ3, eventhough he’s chillin with R. Mika. Which sort of invalidates it. Maybe he didn’t like young beautiful women before he met her. From then on he did and so later in SFII he can like Chun-Li. Or the designers and storywriters of SFZ3 just didn’t communicate very well and everyone did his own thing. That’s what the game looks like to me anyway.

“Chilling with” does not equal “would sleep with” though.

That said, to date, the “evidence” concerning Gief’s supposed gayness has always been very suspect to me. That quote about not liking young beautiful women could easily be interpreted as his love for old, hairy (russian) women, for example.

But contradicts “dislikes”. The ending and artwork show that he obviously DOES NOT dislike her, no matter if he would like to sleep with her, which is purely hypotetical anyway.

Well, I guess we could always ask Vasili if there was a Rival-Schools-esque epitome in the Japanese version of the dialogue between R. Mika and Zangief where Zangief says derogatory comments to her about being a girl but then realizes the error of his ways in R. Mika’s ending (as opposed to the US version where Zangief is nice to her from the get-go, no character development needed). I’d be… surprised if that were the case, though.

If the US Version of the events is indeed accurate, then I have to offer the argument that the “dislike” MUST be sexual (still doesn’t necessarily prove he’s gay. Just that he isn’t sexually attracted to young beautiful women), because his friendly respectful US SFA3 interaction with R. Mika from the very start obviously PROVES that his dislike for young beautiful women is NOT on a friendship or respect level. …alternatively, it shows that R. Mika is neither young nor beautiful, but I doubt that.

Assuming the US version is accurate, of course.

Or maybe R.Mika is an exception, being a wrestler and all, and not a “typical” young beautiful woman.

Yeah but isn’t it strange that they add her in SFZ3 as the first woman at all to be in any scene with Zangief* and also mention the first time that he doesn’t like young beautiful women in the same game?

*Except for the MvC ending.

About Stroheim, still can’t find the scan where he poses like Vega. Maybe the only reason Vega has the SS logo like flash and the skull and wings on his hat are that he is based on Stroheim, not on other Nazis.

Found an old German Game Mag (Sega Pro) with an American drawing of Cammy. Looks like the SFIIWW art that was used for the SNES game covers and also the GIJoe figures Wonder who drew all them.

Yes it was backed as in supported. Various words and phrases including “hot look”, “intimate”, “…but I like you!..” have supported the supposition. But have I found or read anywhere for Capcom to bluntly say that “Zangief wa ookama desu” (“Zangief is a homosexual”) ? No I haven’t at this time. Conclude from there.

Zangief’s interactions with R. Mika in Zero 3 neither support nor deny his profile statement of disliking beautiful women. He sees and acknowledges her as a fellow wrestler, nothing more.

Finally got 'em finished, here are Nash’s accounts. Enjoy:

Nash from SFZ

Original account from SF2 Himitsu Hyakka

Gasshaan! From within the shop, a hoodlum fly-whiffed intense kicks, glass panes smashed, as he tumbled out.
“Humph, thought you’re quite the pro?” During that, from inside the shop, the circumstantial man came into view. On his chest, an air force dogtag swayed.
The man’s name is Nash. Man of justice!
“Now, talk…from whom did you get this white powder?” For Nash, while gripping the nape of the hoodlum’s neck, with brute force he was pinch hitting for information on the narcotics organization. That is, narcotics investigation Nash-style. In order to ascertain the so-called information on soldiers’ entangling with the narcotics organization, for Nash began a narcotics investigation but…
“First Lieutentant! This case, has already been resolved. Don’t go poking your nose at checking up on a matter that’s fine.” As her draws near little by little to the narcotics organization’s mystery Nash gets brought down by his superior officer’s order. “The military’s interior, moreover the upper layer unit level and the narcotics organization, they’re failingly entwined.” Nash considered it such. Not even an ally.
“Although I’m alone yet, I’ll do it!” Nash’s struggle has begun!

Official Story from Gamest SFZ and AASFZ

Together with the sound of gaudy glass smashed, the hoodlum flew out in a tumble.
“Humph, thought you’re quite the pro?” While arranging his vest with both hands, slowly from the shop an intellectually faced man came out. On that man’s chest, an air force dogtag swayed.
“Now, talk…from whom did you get this?” Gripping the nape of the hoodlum’s neck, contained in the vinyl a white powder flitted…

Soldiers tangling with drug dealings-in order to be certain of this rumor’s authenticity, Nash was single-handedly collecting information. But, thus advancing the search above all Nash faced it, exceeding private level crimes and not considering the words rounded up. “What madness…” Such thoughts driving the days became worse.
Moreover during the continuation of the investigation, influential information came from, firsthand drug dealers concerned with the time 3 people of the soldiers could have been caught, he and the like did Nash understand that matters did not go beyond merely the end. The confiscated narcotics were an innumerable amount. The systematic “something” backing them that’s operating…

“First lieutenant! This case has already been resolved. Don’t be poking your nose prying into this.” The superior officer did nothing more than take all of Nash’s words into his ears as imagination.
‘The military’s interior, moreover the upper layer unit level and the narcotics organization are closely caught into each other!’ Nash had thrusted before on the superior officer’s investigation conclusion, surely the military would take it as being a ‘preposterous burdened issue’. With superior officers handling it, that would as a matter of fact be how would it not be an issue. That reality would announce itself as an issue.

Negotiating with the police as comrades turned traitors-surrounding himself with such a gloomy atmosphere and ignorance within, Nash made a decision.
"Although I’m alone yet…I’ll do it!"
He began to move once again. For the sake of inflicting an iron hammer onto this nation’s corrupted justice…

Next time, Rose. Thanks for reading minna-san.

The fact that R. Mika and Zangief’s dislike for Young Beautiful Women (of which I’m quite reasonably certain can not be logically interpreted to mean weak frail women since I’ve never seen anyone who translated it even mention that) does indicate that it likely was put there for a reason. Or at the very least, wasn’t overlooked or wasn’t lumped in as an afterthought or whatever.

Sorry I didn’t get that sentence, was there something missing?
EDIT: Ok I get it.

Tiamat needs to use shorter sentences. :stuck_out_tongue:

re: Cammy art

That art looks like the kind of American SF art that, to my knowledge, only appeared in Nintendo Power (for SF2 Turbo). I don’t have the NP with SSF2 (I think? I need to check), so I’m not certain, but it definitely looks like that style of art.

And you think the same guy did this too?

If all the US art was done by the same artist it shouldn’t be too hard to find out who it is. Unless he/she’s hiding.

By the way thanks for translating vasili10, very entertaining, I wish they made comics and animes from those little stories.

:china: I wish too, especially those from Zero 3 still to come.

Hey vasili10, whenever you have time, no rush - can you please translate all of Ryu’s remaining quotes in CFJ for the faq? They are -

Ryu to Zangief and vice versa

Ryu to Felicia and vice versa

Ryu to Yun and vice versa

Ryu to Urien and vice versa

Ryu to Nool and vice versa

Ryu to Karin and vice versa

Ryu to Guy and vice versa

Pyron to Ryu

Thanks in advance and also thnx for the Nash SFZ3 info and everything else.

Will do; check for 'em when I bring out Rose’s stories. Sure thing.

ROOOOOOOOSSSSSEEEEEEeeeh

Chun-Li art official or not?

Really old all over the internet graphic:
http://tgmonline.futuregamer.it/news/ottobre2006/20061031085646/img2.jpg?ni=1

I always wondered wether this is official ingame art or not. But the way it’s done it sort of looks like it. Also Chun-Li’s head is done very well, unlike most fan art of her.

EDIT:
Hey this one looks a lot better than the movie:

SNK-Capcom say they were asked by Capcom US to put this poll up:
http://www.snk-capcom.com/forums/showthread.php?t=314

Don’t know if that’s official art or not but I’ve never seen it.

And that SNK-Capcom Thread is about 4 years old man! Read through it for laughs on why you shouldn’t take advice from the internet. You won’t have to read far to get to stupid crap like Goku and Morrigan in SF4. So long as 12 year olds can log on and post you have problems.

Me and Grenade Falcon AKA Kataclysmic have some posts in their too. Those ain’t stupid, well maybe mine is, shrug…
