Well, it’s been at least 10 years since I’ve seen the movie, but it was mainly the fact that they are bishounen-looking guys (as bishie as Golgo 13 gets anyway) who wear masks to protect their faces when they fight, are utterly psychotic, and attack with claw weapons. I also seem to remember them hopping around/being very fast, but I could be remembering things very wrong.
Thanks, talkin bout infuences, has one of you seen the whole movie Master Of The Flying Guillotine? Next to Fist Of The North Star and maybe Dragonball’s Tournament it seems to be the major influence for SF’s characters and story.
Here are Guy’s SFZ accounts, enjoy:
Guy from SFZ
Original account from SF2 Himitsu Hyakka
Since the struggle in Final Fight’s Metro City, there was a young man burning his life for the sake of reviving the fighting techniques of true “bushinryu”.
That’s Guy. In order to take up genuine combat ninjutsu, he’s challenged the street fighter world!
From a distant some centuries ago, during the period of civil war, introduced to the darkness of Japan were the super fighting moves of “bushinryu”, now, they are restored!
For the sake of seeking out bushinryu’s successor, as Zeku was continuing to aimlessly journey, in the streets his eye caught a brawling beastly young boy. Perception of innate disposition. The mere fighting spirit of a genuine fighting stylist.
“No mistaking it…” For Zeku, such was the murmur that the boy was challenged.
Zeku dodged all of the boy’s attacks.
“Wooah!” he screamed, as Zeku sprung upon the boy, mysteriously Zeku’s move, conversely brushed him away! Byubyun!
“Just now, what in the world was that!?” The boy shocked beyond belief, Zeku extended out his hand.
"This is bushinryu! Come with me as your basis, I shall show you your path of life!"
The boy’s name is Guy. With Zeku as his foundation, Guy’s trancendental training has begun…
Official Story from Gamest SFZ and AASFZ
The resurrection of true bushinryu- that which needed a new force.
As the ages flowed past, the fighting techniques of bushinryu were becoming a mere shell. A man waited to search out for the instrument that could resurrect it. When would he be answered he knew not for his purpose to be completed, aimlessly the man traveled throughout the country. The man’s name was Zeku. He was the 38th order legitimate successor of bushinryu.
He happened to encounter that “destined man”, from now it has been several years ago…
Intently within the journey he stopped over, happening upon a street. Amidst a rustling, some person was crying out like a wild goose. “A hoodlum brawling eh…” It was as though that moment passed right through, Zeku opened his eyes wide. Taking a step at the large man his opponent while not withdrawing, a seemingly beastly young boy. Furthermore, dwelling in that pupil was a genuine fighting stylist of characteristic fighting spirit and, that innate disposition of quality. “No doubt about it…” Zeku’s eye twinkled.
That night, Zeku lay in wait, he wielded a fist at the boy’s appearance.
"…this world has many much much stronger ones so to speak, and also, unless one is taught as such you cannot learn…" As that man turned up all of the sudden, the boy treated it lightly. With a launching strike cut completely through the air, the opponent couldn’t even touch him.
“Kuun!” Both he and the boy exclaimed as they flew that moment, the boy’s body on the other hand was being blown away.
“Just now what in the world!?” Wondering what it was himself, the boy completely didn’t understand.
“This is bushinryu! Come with me as your basis, I shall show you your path of life.” With the man’s face thus declared, his own trust to step towards the path 1 person as a fighting stylist was filling up with pride.
“Your name?” Zeku approached him, his waist fell over as though to sit as he gently held out his hand to the boy. As the boy meekly took that hand, he answered. “My name is…Guy.”
Thus now, Guy has appeared having originally piled on the pursuit of knowledge under Zeku. With no place of refuge for his power that boy was possessing too much dazzle, not just with moves, even that soul taking over, even bearing all of bushinryu was magnificently growing.
For the sake of true bushinryu’s revival, The days of Guy’s development would begin already as far as he would be associating with it…
Next time, Nash. Thanks for reading minna-san. Long live the thread!
Well I meant it was actually the character in the movie that resembles Dudley not the RL version.
Ah ok. Got any screenshots?

Woo. Direct official statement that Final Fight and Street Fighter take place within the same continuity.
:wgrin:
Oh snap that blue alien to the right is Cosmi from Under the Skin. Now that was a cool yet underrated game. A bit on the short side though. Still farting in RE2 characters Jill Valentine, Carlos, and Nemesis’ faces is more fun than should be allowed.
Heh, Dante, Tokio of Crimson Tears, Phoenix Wright, Viewtiful Joe and GBA Zero. Good image, thanks for sharing!
Lemme know please if the strategy books look to have anything worthwhile.
No poster with the pre-mook? Ouch you got ripped off you poor soul.
Akiman’s girl of the month in the latest Gamaga Magazine. It’s Zelda of the Legend of Zelda series! Hey vasili10, if you’re not too busy can you let us know what Akiman has to say about Zelda? Thanks in advance!
Beyond the realm of being off topic but taken from the same magazine, who the hell thought that Voltron would crossover with Gundam in a video game one day? These are very cool times we live in indeed!
What? There’s Golion (Lion Force Voltron) but no Dairugger XV (Vehicle Force Voltron)?
Yeah I’ll get to Akiman’s words for Zelda later today.
That’s the Voltron with the cars, planes and water vehicles right? I loved that show.
Thnx as always.
Yes that’s right. You’re very welcome.
Zelda Hime from Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess
Some fuzzy kanji here and there, but I can make out that he calls her princess of princesses. Needless to say he finished drawing her, despite Twilight Princess having a deep movie (in-game animation sequences for its story I’m guessing). He also remarks that it was a somewhat difficult thing for him to draw her with a cold facial expression, and concludes by asking readers if it’s well done.
Princess of princesses huh? Can’t argue with that.
I got Capcom Puzzle World for the PSP today. Pretty cool, Puzzle Fighter comes with two extra modes of play the original didn’t have. The Sakura “I want you to know” song plays in the background when you look at the illustrations of all of the puzzle games. Much like the Capcom Classics game you can view the credits of this collection at any time and during the credit roll they combine some of the graphics for some cool effects. They show Puzzle Fighter Super Deformed Sakura chasing and being chased by the dog from Buster Buddies in the ending, really cute! :lovin:
For timelines, for Buster Bros. it says that it took place long ago in the Kingdom of Earth, whatever that means… guess it’s one of those “It took place long ago in a strange era everyone forgot about” type of things. Super Buster Bros. is a direct sequel so it most likely takes place at the same time. Buster Buddies deals with stolen historical artifacts, prolly takes place around present day or so.
Block Block was on one of the other collections before but I don’t think timeline matters for it too much since it’s like asking when Pong takes place… I’ll take a quick look at what CCC says about it, might of been one of those strange games that read “It takes place in the far future when aliens are taking over” even if it’s not necessary.
Yeah I can see how the Mexican guy from Buster Buddies looks a lot like Amingo of MVC2 like everyone says with the big hat and the morracas, but he’s a human though while Amingo is other…
Are the two extra modes of PF the Y and the Z mode? They are also in the Dreamcast edition For Matching Service.
Yeah it’s those too. Never played it on Dreamcast, only had the English PS1 version.
Aerialgroove- I don’t see the lookalike you did of Yun and Yangs girlfriends on your update.
vasili- thanks for the updates, as always.
Quick question, anyone who knows feels free to answer.
#1. Rival Schools based on a manga or something, right?
Was browsing the Capcom BBS since s-kill asked SRK members to check the place out a few months ago. TAS has mentioned in a few threads now about how he wants the Rival Schools/Project Justice characters in SF4 etc, and I was pretty sure they were a seperate thing, and Sakura being in the first game was just a cameo… I was gonna correct him, but then I remembered Kyosuke was in CvS2, though that could have been a cameo too. Any clarification would be appreciated.
Po Lin
I didn’t add them because I just don’t see any striking similarity to Po Lin. Also it wasn’t true that Capcom officially confirmed any relation, just a hoax.
The Power Stone characters were in the backgrounds of CvS2, too. And Morrigan?
Maybe you guys know that “Retro Gamer” magazine. I saw the current issue today and it has SFIII on the cover and info on the whole SF series with some true information and lots of nonsence. Also no interesting pics except for this one:
http://fightingstreet.com/pics/temp/various/evilryuarcade.jpg
It’s SNH Ryu or “Evil Ryu” and I think it’s the title screen of a special tournament arcade with 4 games in it. I haven’t seen the art anywhere else. Sorry for the bad quality, I surreptitiously took a photograph of it because I didn’t want to buy the whole thing. If one of you can make a scan, that would be much better of course.
