Warriors Fate: Street Fighter story thread, revived

ok between yun and yang, which one is the calm one and which one is the crazy one?

Well, while we’re in this drought. I was thinking of something.

We all know that Remy’s searching for his father (for what reason would be appreciated to know), and we’ve already established that his father isn’t Guile, and couldn’t be Charlie.

The similarity between the moves of Guile and Remy are very stunning, to say the least. Remy even has the 2-hit knockdown Crouching Fierce!

But his father isn’t Guile.

2 questions arise

  1. Is his father some unknown character or do we need to look even further?

  2. Could it be possible that Remy developped these techniques by himself? I mean, if it was the Sonic Boom, he’d have called it the Sonic Boom! If it was the Flash Kick, he’d have called it the Flash Kick and not the Rising Rage Flash (Yet another similarity, but that was purely coincidental)

I heard Remy was a priest or something. His special attack names are holy-ish and he does wear a cross necklace (I think. Did he? I need to pay more attention to SF3 characters I guess) but always seemed to me to be more of a goth type thing. :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh, Yun’s the crazy one and Yang’s the calm one.

Hey fellas! I guess like everybody else, there really isn’t any new info so posting is kinda slowing down.

Just two things that I found -

Regarding Hugo’s 3s ending, I think that wrestler is just some generic guy Capcom made up on the spot. I am almost positive he is not a SlamMaster. I just looked at my ‘All About Capcom’ and checked out the endings section. From that small pic, the wrestler is a short haired blond wearing read trunks with a silver/white block at the front. He’s also wearing red elbow pads. The only SlamMaster that wears red trunks is Biff but this guy looks nothing like Biff. Maybe he’s some jobber for CWA. The dialogue is in Japanese so they might have mentioned a name but I wouldn’t be able to read it.

Also, way back during the gamefaqs SF story thread (I think about a year and a half ago  ), somebody mentioned Spanish ninja Vega’s full name to be Vega Fabio…blah blah. It was pretty much shot down by everybody. Well, I finally found out where this dude got that ridiculous name - it was from the dub version of the SF IIV anime. So its obviously not cannon.

Thats it. Nothing really new or important I guess :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh, if anybody likes Capcom artwork you should try to find a book called Capcom Design Works. Its a great artwork showcase. Its not all fighting games either. They have drawings for the Survival Horror series. Cool artwork for D&D. There’s a Rival Schools pic drawn by the Capcom artist for CvS and a whole bunch more. Pick it up if you can find it (got mine from an anime convention here in NYC about 2 weeks ago). Favorite pic is one with Kyo playing a linked Neo Geo pocket against Sakura.

Since things are slow anyway, here’s some stuff I learned digging through the All About Books that I didn’t know before!

Like I said, In the Appendix section of “All About Capcom Head-To-Head Fighting Game 1987-2000” there’s an Encyclopedia that has a picture of every Fighting Game Character and most of the important background characters. Well, guess who I found? Lynn Kurosawa! Not only is she in Ken’s SFA2 background (she’s the one coming out of the pool), but she’s also in SF3 New Generation and Second Impact’s Tokyo Stage(Ryu and Ken’s SF3NG Stage and Ryu’s Second Impact Stage)! She’s in the waterfall bathing! It seems that Capcom didn’t forget about Lynn!

And guess who she’s standing next to in the Tokyo Stage? That’s Chun-Li sitting next to her! Capcom didn’t forget her either in the first two SF3 Games!

With them to the right of Lynn (Chun-Li’s to the Left of Lynn) is Felicia! She has blonde hair this time, but you can see the cat ears sticking out of her head!

Oh, and that Fat guy getting scrubbed down by the monkey is not E.Honda like I always thought. In his section there’s no mention of him in SF3 as a background character at all.

You guessed it. In Q’s section it only lists him as being in one game - SF3 Third Strike. Argueably, it would be kind of weird if it stated that his first appearance was as a SF2 background character.

Yeah, have to agree with Golden Hell on that wrestler in Hugo’s ending being some generic guy. He looks nothing like any of the Slammasters.

Speaking of Slammasters, in that section you can see a pic of Black Widow in the Game without her uniform and she’s definitely a woman. She’s not a “new half” or anything like Poison, because in the Encyclopedia section she has the female symbol.

Yeah, I still don’t have Capcom Design Works. It’s sold out everywhere I went in Japan. Oh well, maybe someday…

Oh, here’s my wildest makes no sense theory on how Remy knows Guile’s moves.

Let’s say Q’s his father. Q saw the fall of Shadowloo and let’s just say that this means that he saw Guile defeating Vega the Dictator. MAYBE… he described the fight so well to his son that Remy could fathom the martial art style… Yeah, I know I’m reaching here…

So, between us, how many All About Capcom/SNK sets are there? I, Sano, GH and Saiki have both, right? Anyone else?

I recently got Capcom Design Works from Ebay ($25 with Pay Now, not bad at all) and I recommend it to everyone here, but you should also look for the two SNK Characters All About Illustrations books. The only real info you can get from these three books is what artist drew what pictures, but it’s very nice nonetheless.

Yea, I saw female Black Widow. Her voice changes to a female one when you beat the game with her, too (It’s freaky. She takes off the costume, laughs a female laugh, then puts it back on and after her bio displays, she laughs a male laugh  )

Whoa. That’s really Lynn? I didn’t know that Capcom had the legal right to even have her cameo in other games. Hmm…

Hehe, The Kyo vs Sakura pic is hilarious^^ I think Cammyfan.com still has it somewhere on the website. Not sure, though :stuck_out_tongue:

Huh. I thought everyone knew that it was Linn in Ken’s A2 background (Note: The whole background is a costume party, so those aren’t the “real” versions of those characters, but it still allowed for a lot of cameos) and in the NG/2I backgrounds. Chunners I knew about as well. And all of this was before I got AAC.

I didn’t know about Felicia though. I must double check that myself.

Also, I need to check if the muay thai user in Elena’s stage is Adon. I don’t think it is, but I’ll check AAC anyway (someone else check as well in case I forget).

Man, I need to get my hands on that Capcom Design Works. Maybe sometime after I save up for Kingdom Hearts.

What does the kanji on Sodm’s shirt mean?

Death, I believe. Hmm… I should add that.

That’s the kanji for Shi?

I should go check in my Japanese books…

Well, that’s what cammyfan.com says. I dunno about Stefan’s Japanese, but I’m sure he’s much better at understanding Japanese than I am :stuck_out_tongue:

Ultima - According to AAC, Adon’s only background appearance is in Pocket Fighter.

Sieg - Thanks for the info on Capcom Design Works being on Ebay! I put in my Bid already and got a copy! Now comes the grueling process of waiting for the mail… Yeah, I got the second SNK book you mentioned. I did see the first one in lots of spots in Japan, but as you can see from the list of stuff I got, I was trying to keep my money open for Capcom stuff. Don’t really mind not having it anyway. Thumbed through it and I like the Second book much better. Nothing against SNK, but I love Capcom and Capcom Artwork about 100 times more! Heck, my favorite SNK artwork is their rendition of Capcom characters! Man am I biased…

I have a question.Do you have to know Shotokan/Ansatsuken to get the Dark Hadou/Sastu No Hadou? Could it be possible for people like Chun Li,Terry Bogard,Kyo,Dan,Sagat,or anybody else to get it. I need to know for my story.

I have a question about Capcom’s possible attempt of retconning. I don’t know if I already asked this before in this thread.

The only members of the SF cast that were given complete date of birth info were the original 16 of SF2, right? (SSF2T).

Capcom never gave DOBs to the SFA cast but they’re pretty much complete on other data (height, weight, likes, dislikes, etc.)

Is it possible that Capcom is now trying to remove the DOB part in the bio of the SF cast to help them maintain their age (similar to the scenario of comic book characters)?

Satsui no Hadou is relative to Ansatsuken. It’s the intent to kill using Ansatsuken.

It’s not possible for them to succumb to the temptation of Satsui no Hadou, but it’s definitely possible for them to become so enraged that they want to win at all costs, which is the main effect of Satsui no Hadou.

i haven’t been keeping up with the new posts so i don’t know if this as been answered yet.

in SFA3, which came first?

  1. guile & charlie blow up the psycho drive with bison in it

  2. bison’s soul take over rose’s body.

it seems to me that the first one happened first, as bison managed to survive the explosion and made it outside, where rose found him. he was too weak to defend himself, so rose did a soul spiral without any resistance, but bison was able to invae her body when she was touching him.

or maybe he managed to escape before the bomb went off. tiamat?

But if they did have a dark side what would you call them.

I’d call them fucking pissed off and get the hell outta their way.
