Warriors Fate: Street Fighter story thread, revived

Are there load times between battles like in the PS2/Xbox versions? that was awefully awkward and the fact that they were ports of the “capcom generations” disc is no excuse…sorry for the little rant BTW.

That’s still there.

My mistake, darn kanji looking alike. “with this division” should be changed to “from this side”. Meaning Vega sees Demitri as a loser because he’s not ruthless enough, not pulling out all the stops, something Gouki might say to the scarcely few opponents that might somewhat impress him.

Fixed it on the previous page also, and on the faq copy you provided.

Okay thanks! I’ll submit it to Gamefaqs later today and it should be up around tomorrow.

Gimme Shelter

Today we watched a documentary of a very (in)famous free concert by the Rolling Stones in San Francisco, that got a lot bigger than planned and in the end 4 people died, also because the security were all members of the biker gang Hell’s Angels.
Anyway Mick Jagger (the band’s frontman) wears a black shirt with a white omega on the front just like Street Fighter III’s Remy.

Just thought that might be interesting. If you know more about why he wore it and if it has a meaning, let me know, thanks.

Yep, that’s pretty much the idea.

Hey sano or anyone else who has Capcom Design Works Early Days, do chapters 4, 5, or 6 have anything worthwhile? Any interviews in that book?

Chapter 4 & 5 Artwork with description, no interviews.
There is no chapter 6. :frowning:

Chapter 4 has the art sano posted when it was released. The greeting cards and some old art you already know. Chapter 5 has the same sketches seen in the original Gamest Mook and on the Ryu VS DVD and some Armored Warriors sketches and stuff.

That’s odd; I was looking at an auctions posting for the book, and it claimed that the final section/chapter/whatever you choose to call it has a collection of arcade pamphlets, staff profiles (I’m guessing Enterbrain’s staff not Capcom’s) and an afterword/postscript.

Are there descriptions for the Bengus SFZ set, like Dan & Retsu, or the like? Thanks for the input aerialgroove.

Well that’s the appendix with one sentence of every artist, no interview. I guess it says stuff like “newcomer at Capcom famous for the… game series”, not much more, next to a little icon. Then the miniatur pamphlets and a little boring cartoon drawing of the staff cubic place from a top view. It’s just a few pages.
Sorry just one description for the whole series I think. By the way, the Birdie Boo pic is not by Bengus eventhough it looks like it. Capcom’s artist are very good with unifiying their style for a certain game.
Here’s one though, that might be interesting, does it say who the other fighter is?

I see. Thank you.:china:

Nope, nothing said on who it is. It was originally looked at being Hibiki Gou, but now it would make more sense for it to be Nua Khan.

I found a page loaded with art from Capcom Design Works.

I noticed there’s art for D&D Shadow Over Mystara. This is great, but why’s it in there? Capcom doesn’t own D&D.

LINK REMOVED

They don’t yes, but Capcom developed and released it for the arcades as well as Tower of Doom, with permission from TSR, Inc. of course.

Yeah. It even has art for the versus games, yet nothing for AvP, Punisher, or C&D which they also developed.

The old Gamest Mook might have more but also the new version Capcom Design Works : Early Days features Punisher. I’m sure the old one had C&D and AvP, too, not sure about the new one.

Okay. Now as I contemplate ordering, do either of them have artwork for those games I haven’t already seen from American flyers and such?“Rare” art, that is?

The rarest things in the older Gamest version of Capcom Illustrations are that Shadowloo map pic with Ryu and Chun-Li, in other books the images are spread a part, here it’s a two page spread. Also there’s a small drawing of Demitri fighting Belail but it’s very small and sketchy, all black inks, no color. There’s some character sketch work of characters in the older one that didn’t make it into Early Days too.

Regarding SF art - Whatever didn’t make it into Early Days either made it into Capcom Design Works or SF Eternal Challenge for the most part, except the character sketches stuff.

A lot of the other artwork is existing video game artwork that you’ve probably seen before.

Get it if your out to get all of the Capcom Artwork books. If not save your money and get Capcom Design Works instead if you don’t have it yet, the best of the Capcom art books.

I think it depends on what games you are interested. If you want all Street Fighter art you can’t get around the Complete File. The quality is a lot better than the Japanese version of Eternal Challenge which is still better than the US one and it has art that can’t be found anywhere else. The only downside is, that almost all images are cut off a bit.
Design Works is the best when it comes to paper quality but I think many images are way too dark and the fact that one character of a series is large while all others are only thumbnails is kind of annoying. I also think the paper is too glossy, but again that’s a personal thing. I would rather get the Capcom Illustrations Gamest Mook than the new version (Early Days) and also buy Japanese EC and the Complete File (if it’s SF you’re looking for).
By the way, you can’t get Capcom Illustrations for a decent price in the US, only cheap copies of it.

Good stuff, but why does Gouki have to seperate ones, even one for ‘Shin’ if Shin Gouki is not availabe in the game AFAIK? Is it to represent the one that defeated Vega as Shin Gouki and the one you fight against in the game as Gouki? Especially since Gouki doesn’t have a Super Bar or the ability to perform a Shun Goku Satsu in the game. Just wondering about that.
