Warriors Fate: Street Fighter story thread, revived

In Okami there’s an old lady called Ms. Orange. If you help her wash her clothes later at night she feeds you crab cakes by doing a Shun Goku Satsu on her chimney like stove to heat it up! Seeing this in action it too funny!

I keep forgetting to mention this but the Namco x Capcom translation is finished!

A little late due to me being a little busy, but this is Akiman’s monthly drawing in Gamaga magazine. Vasili10 or anyone else, happen to know who the heck this is?

Here Dan’s labeled with the title: “Milky Way Bucking Goat Master.”

sano, This month’s Akiman pic is of Arcueid from Melty Blood Act Cadenza.

Ah, from Melty Blood. Thanks!

Small dumpage today, SSF2X Gouki stuff tomorrow. Enjoy.

SSF2 pre-mook pic set (16 of these later became the SSF2X ending portraits, most of them can also be seen in the Gamepro SSF2 guide)

Thanks for reading minna-san.

That’s funny, I was gonna ask you about that today. Do you think they were planned to be in the SSFIIX endings from the start and were just added to the SSFII GM, because they already had access to to it (just like SFIICE artwork appears in the Complete File SFII), or do you think they were made for SSFII, maby even the SSFII Gamest Mook only? I haven’t seen them appear (as non pixel graphic) anywhere else. I’m going to order another copy of the GM and pull out the pages in order to make a good scan of them.

(Here are the screenshots http://fightingstreet.com/folders/artworkfolder/artworkpages/sf_art_pages/sfii_art_pages/ssfiix_art_pages/ssfiix_end_sprites.html)

What does the #2 mean? Where are they from? Thanks.

As far as I know the only Japanese source they’re in is the SSF2 pre-mook, unlike the old B&W SF2 pics which were reprinted in several places including Eternal. #2 just indicates that Cammy, Fei Long and Balrog have a second pic devoted to them that didn’t become an game ending screen, while everyone else has one. Fei Long’s and Balrog’s can also be found in the Gamepro SSF2 guide, but not Cammy’s.

Gouki’s Super X accounts. Note the similarities and differences in each. The mook BTW was the first ever Gamest mook released: SoundComplete SSF2X Grand Master Challenge. Enjoy.

Gouki from Gamest SSF2X

pre-mook

Beyond the Fight, the Struggle’s Limit Reached by Men

Once, Ryu and Ken’s “shoryuken” “hadouken” “tatsumaki senpuukyaku” were taken up, by a fighting stylist known as Gouken. Originally, these techniques, were devised as an ansatsuken with the aim of snatching away life, Gouken having grasped these moves from Master Goutetsu, moves themselves refined from enhanced might dwelling in “satsui no hadou”, they were completed as a school of fighting moves.
And so after Gouken passed away, with surely only Ryu and Ken left to impart the techniques into the world, from 20 years ago, having murdered Master Goutetsu with “satsui no hadou”, there was a disappeared man.
This being Gouken’s younger brother, is Gouki.
From the start, Gouken seldom referred to his master’s topics of conversation, having taught that the master’s cause of death was a natural one, those to know of Gouki’s existence, previously in the world there wasn’t a single person.
Why, now Gouki’s form is now presented, that is a truth which nobody understands.
Of course, without Vega knowing of his existence, for Gouki there is no connection with “Shadoloo” and Vega.
Gouki’s moves are roughly, the same as those of Ryu, increased offensive ability, with ansatsuken as the standard power he largely exceeds.

mook

The strongest final enemy, the “satsui no hadou” wielding mysterious man. That name is Gouki.
Ryu and Ken’s sure-killing techniques being “shoryuken” “hadouken” “tatsumaki senpuukyaku”, these techniques were originally intended as an ansatsuken, the master of the two Gouken being in this school, reformed it without “satsui no hadou” it was completed as a school of fighting moves.
While, Gouken’s master Goutetsu murdered 20 years before with “satsui no hadou”, there was a disappeared man. That being Gouken’s younger brother, was Gouki.
From the beginning past Gouken was speaking to the very young ones in regards to it, Goutetsu’s cause of death came to likely be a sickness.
Now Gouken is passed away, Gouki’s past is not known by anyone. Why now, has Gouki’s form presented itself? Any relation to Shadoloo?
With the original ansatsuken blood relation, the strong pulling Gouki.
His offensive ability wielding “satsui no hadou”, an unreasonably ultimate overwhelming might. Encouraged ones will all be instantly murdered!

Next time, the ultimate SF2 character relations chart compiled from four major sources and dozens of minor ones. Thanks for reading minna-san!

Good stuff as always Vasili10 and Aerialgroove.

I found something to be pretty funny even if this is slightly OT.

I’ve been buying lots of back issues doing lots of research for my upcoming craptacular Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter Fan Fic. Anyway I noticed this picture in The Incredible Hulk issue #412 released in 1993.

Look familiar? Check out Hulk’s ending in Marvel Super Heroes released in 1995.

Yeah they just swapped out She-Hulk for Betty.

Waddya know, I’m back on this pissant site once again! Guess SRK’s still got some worth to it.

I got sick of playing Third Strike so I bought SF3: Double Impact off ebay. I’ve been messing around with NG for a bit, just reliving what I felt was the only time SF3 was any good, and then of course 2nd Impact, which I never played up till now.

I really missed seeing those winner/loser screens. They were a step up from those plain SF2 portraits; this time around, you saw the winner posing and the loser lying on the ground with cuts, bruises, blood and tears. There was nothing like it. Anyway, I was just dying to see what Akuma looked like when he got beaten. As I had expected, he looked very pissed, but that wasn’t the first thing that got my attention.

Folks, Akuma has GREEN BLOOD.

I could of sworn we dismissed Gouki’s green blood seen when he loses a match as a color edit on Capcom USA’s part.

EDIT: Oh yeah I still haven’t faced Rolento in Mighty Final Fight but I have fought 3 different Sodoms. The second at least offered you a drink of water before the match so he most likely was different. The last one just said “I’LL CRUSH YOU!” or whatever and just attacked. All 3 had different color schemes, my mind is drawing a blank on them right now. I faced Abigail for the second time as a mid boss. Seems like Rolento is gonna be the last boss before Domo Arigato Mr. Roboto Belger…

Yep that was a color edit. His blood’s red originally.

I don’t believe Rolento is in MFF. Cyborg Belger should come shortly after Sodom III.

Well, that sucks. It’s gruesome either way. Why make it green? What was it supposed to look like, vomit? Geez, I hate Capcom USA.

Last ditch attempt to reinforce him being a demon I guess.

No Rolento? Darn it. On the plus side I guess I’m almost finished. Only playing like once a week though…

Well, there is “Serge”, who’s dressed like Rolento (uniform, hat) and has a scar. Just like “Gale” looks exactly like J and “Tequila” looks exactly like El Gado and so on.

Hey vasili10, wondering if you could translate these CFJ character to character quotes whenever you get around to it, no rush as usual.

Ryu to Ingrid and vice versa

Vega to Demitri and vice versa

Vega to Jedah and vice versa

Anakaris to Chun-Li and vice versa

Hauzer to Yun and vice versa

Urien to Demitri and vice versa

Chun-Li to Ingrid and vice versa

Leo to Mukuro and vice versa

Karin to Guy and vice versa

Shin Gouki to Felicia

Thanks in advance!

Really OT kind of, TiamatRoar - Just in case you are still keeping track of timelines for Capcom games in the SF Plot Guide, this article appeared in this month’s issue of Game Informer regarding the Devil May Cry series. The quote at the end is from Hiroyki Kobayashi, producer of RE4, DMC1 and now DMC4 -

*THE FLOW OF TIME

The timeline of the Devil May Cry series can be difficult to keep track of since the four games don’t exactly occur one after the another. To set the record straight, the chronological progression goes like this: DMC 3 is the earliest, followed by DMC 1, then 4 and finally 2. It should also be noted that despite rampant internet rumors, the events of DMC 2 are not being entirely removed from the series’ canon: “They occur very far after the events of 4,” clarifies Kobayashi.*

We still don’t have years or anything though, a guestimate would be the series takes place between 199X to 200X, roughly the same time frame of Resident Evil. (or maybe further along like 201X given how far DMC2 takes place, hope it’s not like Strider 2 which takes place 2,000 years later lol). We know that Dante’s mother was murdered 20 years ago by the time of Devil May Cry 1 and Dante was a child at the time, so at least it seems that he does in fact age normally form childhood to adulthood, and this period would be when DMC3 and DMC1 would take place. It’s unknown at present time when exactly DMC4 and DMC2 take place though, DMC4 may be a direct sequel to DMC1, meaning it happens imediatly after (like a year or less) or not (a few years down the road) but we’ll have to wait and see when the game comes out.

Nope sorry, I’ve been obliterated from here:

You have been banned for the following reason:
No reason was specified.

Date the ban will be lifted: Never

Kidding. Yeah I’ll get to them. I did receive the above message though, it was quite amusing.

Yeah, I got that message a bunch of times. Guess they are still doing maintenance on SRK.

Something I scanned for vasili10 from an old Gamest issue that he asked me to throw up here. This page shows how Karin’s moves from the ‘Sakura Ganbaru!’ became game moves -

re: HUlk

Huh. I have that issue, but it’s been years since I read it. I knew that picture looked familiar (actually, I think all the artwork in XCOTA/MSH is taken directly from comics), but I thought it was a straight rip: Didn’t realise they swapped out She-Hulk for Betty. I remember it having some really goofy art. I should probably go and dig it out to check it out.
