mostly scans from the SF2 manga (don’t remeber the author’s name) and SFZ manga by masahiko nakahira.
About siegfried. in his profile it used to say that it has a lot of SF translations but I could never access it.

Feel free to remove all the character catch copies/nicknames from the plot guide. They’re a waste of space. It’s just a great deal of useless unecessary information, y’know?
I agree.
In case you haven’t seen it, Cent208 created a thread with the full transcript of the SFA3 Max characters and Cammy -
http://www.shoryuken.com/forums/showthread.php?p=3326910#post3326910
While skimming through the plot guide, I notiCed that there are a few small mistakes in Carlos’ profile. It should look a little more like this:
Age: Unknown
Height: 189cm (Not 185cm)
Weight: 61kg (Not 60kg)
Hobby: Sword Collecting
Favorite Food: Chili beans, Tacos
Dean:
Height: 197cm (Not 195cm)
Weight: 91kg (Not 97kg)
Hobby: Driving (Fast)
Favorite Food: Beef Kabobs
Lucia
Height: 172cm (Not 170cm)
Weight: 52kg
Hobby: Cooking (Not a good cook)
Favorite Food: Instant noodles
I saw those transcripts, and it’s clearer now. I could come with a few questions:
1: I’m not sure, but wasn’t Ingrid’s storyline created by capcom of america? Cuz it seems that she was just thrown in the game.
2: Don’t know if it was a mistranslation, but Ingrid says the power’s name was in fact Psycho Power (“I’ll seal your Psycho Power forever.”), but Vega/Bison and the narrator keeps changing it to Psycho Drive power… That name is what Ingrid calls stupid.
3: They seem to know each other. That is pointed when Vega/Bison remarks of her and her seal. Perhaps he had to steal her power in order to boot out Rose’s part of his soul… cuz Ingrid doesn’t seem to care about the fortune teller.
4: Ingrid treated the power as if it was an object… the she says"The catalyst you used was too strong for a machine like that!" what would be this catalyst? could be what fuels the Psycho Drive besides the negative energies (or it’s just me that didn’t get it right:P)
I think that’s all what I wanted to ask.
Capcom of America’s names are in no way in the ending of the game whatsoever for writing scenarios, planning, what not. They distributed the game as having the rights for SF now and that’s it. It’s the equivalent of Capcom of Japan distributing Grand Theft Auto in Japan. There isn’t a chance in hell Capcom USA wrote Ingrid’s story, the game itself came out in Japan first too so it needed translating for an American release after all. Of course someone might of changed things for the translation as has happened before, though certain things that are visual like Ingrid’s sign under Vega’s feet can not be tampered with via bad translation. As for it being tacked on, well, it was tacked on because she wasn’t in the game before, like Eagle’s Maki’s and Yun’s, only hers is crammed in their more so.
Just guestimates on everything below, shrug…
As far as I can tell Ingrid never mentions what the name of the Psycho Power really is called, she states that the name Vega gave it is stupid, and she later calls it Psycho Power out of either convenience or just not revealing it’s true name. Psycho Drive Power, it’s kind of the same thing as Psycho Power to me. And Vega’s reffered to it as Psycho Power in at least SFZ2 so it’s not like he wouldn’t know of that name at this point. Yeah might be a translation thingy…
Weither Ingrid and Vega knew each other before is up in the air I suppose. Being high powered beings that they are, her a Goddess and Vega living for generations prior they might just know of each other or things about each other(or met veeeery long ago, with both inhabiting different bodies I’m thinking?). Ingrid did at least have to go through Ryu and Rose to piece together who was behind everything afterall instead of just confronting him saying, “My old buddy/nemesis Vega must of done this” or whatever though. But lots of the characters in the game go through a similar experience, meet 2 characters, find out a little more from both, then face Vega at the end whose behind everything, might just be a gameplay thing.
Eh, who knows about the catylist thing… there isn’t a book on the game or anything that would explain all of this stuff and there probably won’t be so they can keep a mystery about their relationship and Ingrid in general, or if any of her story actually happened in the first place which we’ll never find out either. She couldn’t defeat Vega or brainwashed Ryu however because it conflicts with what Sagat and what Nash did though, if anything she met up with Rose, saw Vega was taken care of (or Vega kicked her Ass and then she saw later everything was taken care of) and Time Traveled away, if any of her story happened at all.
Vasili10 - When you have free time any chance you us can tell us what is different about her Japanese ending? It’s on like a page before this one or so. Whenever, thanks.
It never happened so she had to travel back in time to appear in a Street Fighter game after being dismissed as CFA got cancelled. To make sure nobody in SFII remembers her she just used the MIB brainwash trick. I think the story makes perfectly sence yes. Maybe T. Hawk’s endings in the next seven SFII remakes will reveal more about her.
I see. The author of SF2: Ryu is Kanzaki Masaomi (last name first). Thanks for clearing up some more suppositions of mine, Lord Vega. Let me know if you decide to make another SF site.
sano- the full Japanese script for Ingrid’s ending will come later on, but for now after some skimming I can say that for sure Vega’s never known her (the many names many generations argument from Guy’s scenario is in Alpha only), and most likely she didn’t know him either. Not too many changes in terms of different words used, but I did notice sentences changing structure completely at times. Like questions there became exclamations here and the like. We’ll see in detail later on.
Getting back to Cammy now…
While going through some old Gamest issues for vasili10 I came across some old Marvel vs. Capcom character artwork. Enjoy!
10 - 20 specifically stated for the Dolls. That’s just… nutsoid Well, guess I’d better put that there then if that’s what it says. …it’s still nuts, though
Hrm… I’ll probably delete all those nickname thingies in the next update. Gotta clean this thing up in general
Duke: Ah, which e-mail was your’s? I have several about the guide right now in my inbox regarding various miscellaneous corrections ^^
To Sano:
All that I said was based on the US text. And based on that, it?s seems that Vega/Bison do know that he has stolen that power from someone, and that Ingrid knows that someone has stolen that power from her (Duh)? but they don?t really know each other. Vega/Bison is surprised that the true owner of that power could find him. And she says Psycho Power before Vega/Bison mentions Psycho Drive Power, which she calls this second name stupid (perhaps Ingrid calling it Psycho Power is a mistake).
Also? It crossed my mind that Vega/Bison could have incorporated Ingrid?s power without stealing it? but after reading again her pre Vega/Bison dialogue (?So return that power now! You can’t just take what you please!?)? I ditched that thought away.
To my eye, Ingrid storyline could have happed, but only to some extent:
Ingrid VS Psycho Ryu
Don?t happened, since Sagat, Ken and Sakura snapped him out of the brainwashing.
Ingrid VS Rose
Might have happened, but I?m more inclinated that it didn?t. Or Rose could have mentioned Ingrid in any of her dialogues against Vega/Bison.
Ingrid VS Vega/Bison
I don?t see why it couldn?t have happened. Ingrid could be the last one of the ?parade of weaklings? that Vega/Bison faced before entering the Psycho Drive chamber and meeting his fate together with Nash/Charlie.
Besides? Vega/Bison is weaker in SF2, that could be due Ingrid retrieving her power, leaving Vega/Bison pretty weakened, even if he had entered Rose?s body.
To Vasili10:
About the different bodies/generations? It was also mentioned on:
Vega/Bison after he defeats Gouki/Akuma:
?Ryu… Just you wait! Your body will soon be mine!?
Ryu?s ending:
?Ryuuuuuuuuuu!!!
You are destined to become my next host body!
Even if this body is vanquished…
My soul is eternal…!! Now, die…!!?
Balrog/Vega?s ending:
?It’s about time to say goodbye to this body. Until next time…
Possibly with a different name and appearance than now…!!?
Cammy?s ending:
?My body… will be lost…
But soon, I’ll be back again… Back… In your mind…!?
Could CoA have changed all those endings?
To Tiamat:
Yo dude!
I was reading the Shadaloo?s entry in the Organizations section of the plot FAQ, and on the part about when the winged skull started to be used, all of your explanations (in fact, from Vasili10) about the in-game portraits are from the arcade versions. The in-game portraits of Vega/Bison in the home versions (starting with the SNES version) always had the winged skull on his hat since when World Warrior came out.
Also, this one I think it?s mentioned in the FAQ, the skull has an ?S? on it?s forehead, not a lightning bolt. The same goes for Vega/Bison?s belt in the Zero/Alpha series.
Last, the organization?s name? we know that it?s spelled Shadoru (or Shadoruu) in japanese, but it?s ocidental writing is Shadoloo as shown in Vega/Bison?s stage on Capcom VS SNK, but Capcom of America always used Shadaloo in the in-game text since when Zero1/Alpha1 came out. The only exception is Alpha 3 MAX, which called it Shadowloo (huum does the fact that SF licence was sold to CoA has anything to do with it?). BTW I have only seen Shadowlaw or Shadowloo in the instruction booklets, comics, mangas or in animes.
Just to make things a little bit clearer?
I know, but that’s how they group the teens. It still doesn’t say what exact age they are, aka none are stated to be 10, 11, or 12 years old, so they might not be, just the way the cultural grouping is.
BTW Tiamat, speaking of emails, here’s one from Jonathan Reyes who emailed me about Ojou-san in the past. He’s got an FF Streetwise note for you to look over:
Hey thanx for the last info you gave me on Lil Miss. It was really interesting.
But I found something that might interest you if you didnt know about it already.
Well, I was looking at the street fighter plot guide from gamefaqs.com and I was wondering about something interesting to put on there, that is if you have the power to do so. I found something really interesting from Final Fight Streetwise that I think should be added somewhere to the guide, although its not too essential to the plot, maybe in one of the Miscellaneous Facts and Notes sections. But I found that the punks at the pier district have a really strong resemblance to the way Birdie from Street Fighter used to look like from the first game. Not only do they both dress like street punks with jeans and leather jackets, have mohawks and are caucasian, but they both use a headbutting attack. I dont know if this was done on purpose or not, but I tought it was kinda cool, especially since they already sorta tried to reference Joe from the same game as well (maybe) with Ghost. So thats all I wanted to say, if you knew that or not. But I think it would be something cool to put up on the Plot Guide just for fun.
I would really appreciate it if you at least do some research on it to see if it was indeed done on purpose.
Thanks you in advance.
And finally, the last of the SSF2 street stories from the pre-mook, Cammy! The largest single block of text I’ve deciphered yet, and hopefully all future ones will be smaller. I had hoped to see if this would’ve given any solid evidence as to whether she was in fact a naturally born human being before the Zero series made it obvious she wasn’t, like Nakahira-sensei’s manga and the Cammy History novels led people to believe. Don’t think so, but anyway, enjoy!
Cammy from Gamest SSF2
Story of Cammy
At the site of the old castle the top secret institution was built- British Intelligence Department: Special Building Unit Members Training Base. That being, the higher class division is quite a section of people nothing but unknown.
It’s a stormy night.
Near the base a landslide occurrence, it paralyzes a part of the generator’s capacity.
As group members proceeded to repair the actual place, from under the crumbled earth there was detection of a single young girl. Sustaining injuries, losing her consciousness they protected the young girl, bringing her back into the base.
In time the young girl regained consciousness, with complete loss of memory. Who was she herself? How was she at such a place?
A clue to the young girl’s identity, a pendant in the young girl’s hand had only these characters engraved.
CAMM 740106
The military placed the young girl within the institution, in order to not have indications leak out into the outside world.
The young girl was placed under the supervision of the training commander Colonel K. Wolfman.
The young girl diligently kept firm, while in her mind not understanding what she was, she was feeling signs of heavy anxiety.
For Colonel Wolfman, from the military the young girl’s surveillance report was obligated.
Nonetheless the institution’s existence cannot be public, on account of this young girl also the incident she’s involved in, a terrible calamity, the colonel believed.
However in time he came to know unexpectedly of the military’s true motives.
The young girl’s injury recovery power, was by far surpassing the healing power speed for typical people.
Complete recovery in 2 some days trivial and the whole body frequently a bone fracture scene, but in 3 days seeing coming out cured, 1 week later a wholly healthy body was returning.
"…in any case, common sense is not to be considered. Her flesh is such that, as with same aged average girls it doesn’t particularly change. However, regeneration ability as well as interior blood antibody generation speed, biological history is but a class to examine…"
While hearing the trained excitement from the doctor in charge, Colonel Wolfman felt a disgreeable hunch.
"The military is speeding up the investigation, the living body weapons project…do they plan to utilize that test?"
Although the colonel didn’t know that project’s details very well, the matter of treating her as a suitable test model he could easily imagine.
“This girl will probably know each and every thing…even this matter, sooner or later…”
Her facial expression was gaining brightness daily.
The colonel, from the pendant’s characters, decided to call her Cammy (CAMMY).
“Cammy…that’s, my name…”
“I still don’t know your true name, to be forever nameless would be likely distressing. I believed it wouldn’t be a bad name no?”
"…Thank you. Cammy, is it?.."
For the first time one could see in relation to her facial expression, the colonel began to smile broadly in the face. However, uneasiness bearing down from the colonel’s heart could not drive away the matter.
And so the uneasiness, would become a real circumstance in an unexpected shape.
From the day that Cammy recuperated 3 weeks passed by.
For the Special Building Unit’s commander-in-chief, it would be Supreme Commander W. Watson’s regular inspection day.
For the supreme commander to visit Cammy’s room, was inquired of Colonel Wolfman.
“This girl, is illustratively a young girl yes?”
“Yessir.”
"Hmm…is she not still a kid? To be confined in such a place, is likely boring.“
The supreme commander held out a hand, at that moment Cammy approached.
Cammy’s figure, flew out in the manner of a flip. With superhuman speed, she thrusted a leeward hand blade at the supreme commander!
”…?..huuh!?"
Our returned Cammy’s left hand, was pinning onto Colonel Wolfman’s side. By a hair’s breadth spot, the colonel parried Cammy.
Lukewarm flowing blood is going along Cammy’s arm. From the colonel’s belly a large quantity of blood is breathing out.
"Iyaaaaaah…!!"
Cammy loses her spirit, to defeat.
“Colonel!! Hang on, hey, somebody a doctor!!”
"Supreme commander…my greatest apologies, this carelessness, I’ll atone with my life…as for what of this young girl’s disposal…guh…I, honorably entrust…"
The colonel distantly withdrew while enduring consciousness, pleading for Cammy.
This time the colonel was being assured.
She…Cammy, without being released from the evil spell. To do that, it can only be me and no others, quote.
The supreme commander, gazing at the colonel’s strong determination, laughed.
“Mmm…none other than your appeals would each be a reason to refuse…very well, regarding that young girl, you are entrusted completely. Rest assured.”
"Th…thank you…very much, supreme commander…"
The colonel and Cammy are transported on stretchers.
“Colonel Wolfman…I request of you. In this young girl, a revelation has begun interest among the military’s supreme management. To not engage the matter into a great tragedy, the bad sprout has to be plucked. Unless the nation gets going, I cannot cover up for you…”
As a blessing, the colonel’s wounds didn’t become an emergency.
However, Cammy after that for quite some time - roughly 3 days’ time - occasionally lost consciousness. And so from her brain waves new facts were to become clear.
Under the deep psyche’s special mind control. Her own purpose as defined unrelated, inducing techniques of specified action, she was performing them.
Usually, that would seem to be a shock of memory lost, that effect being mostly lost. Probably from here, suddenly people would advance as it was likely no matter whatsoever.
With this event as a start, the military seemingly would come to a mustering manner for the high interest in Cammy. These were the misunderstood unnaturally performed ones, the military would handle those theories’ explanations as maximum priority items that would supersede any break-through’s.
Already having existed was the menacing biocontrol technology. Making a belated start in development, defeat would be significant.
For Colonel Wolfman, having thought between such a military intention, usually like Cammy an age not going to a young girl against being a person assigned a cruel fate, she would have recalled unspeakable resentment.
“Something with great power, will be set in motion…”
Before her even more increased strict observation would be placed for Cammy.
1 week elapsed since the attacks on the supreme commander- calmness returned to her, she was solidifying her primary determination.
For Cammy, Colonel Wolfman would volunteer.
“For myself as well, please let me train.”
“What?..no, it’s unreasonable for you!”
“No, I will do it. I’ll do it on a hunch as such. …I, know. The military treats me as a “weapon” sample right? Wanting more accurate data, so to speak…”
“You…were finding out about that, how…”
"Colonel…you have helped me. For I trust that, only you are alright.
Unless you say absolutely not, I won’t do anything reckless…but, I want to do your work. I want to exert as much as will become your ability. As it is a caged bird’s way will always seem to live…"
Cammy’s eyes didn’t have a spot to be nervous. For Colonel Wolfman, his own worrying spirit at the extent of her weaklessness he forbade not profiting from a forced smile.
This girl, is a strong child.
“Your human life is your own. No one can shackle it. That which continues to clear away your own destiny, I don’t resist. Instead, I believe in wanting to do with becoming ability!”
“Colonel…then…”
“Cammy! It seems that today, you can take up an education with my squad’s qualified regular members. It’ll be harsh training…care to follow us?”
“Y…yessir!!”
Thus Cammy’s living of training began.
Her motor nerves, surely were beyond imagination. Very much no more than a 20-year-old woman’s movements could be believed. Her body possessing latent ability, before long limits were extending.
Dealing with weapons and the like, to the degree of a blink of an eye she recalled. As though in order to know for her health. With her team (comprised of 4-5 people) in a short time rising to wonderful ratings, more and more did the military upper layer section having judged without a margin suspect her concerning her ability.
The military’s supreme management plans experimentations.
“Here is one, how much of her ability, as we can get her to show us.”
“Indeed…and, that is to say, you don’t suppose…”
“That’s right…the most troubling existence we handle, the spy for ‘Shadoloo’ is brought in. Now whichever missions she has or not, their assisted leaders’existence investigations…unless she, grasps onto some hands perhaps, not…”
“If the risk is oversized…?”
“Already our military’s test preparations are continuing settlements. After that will be data through actual fighting. An amazing outcome to anticipate will it not?”
Cammy cleared nearly all of Assessment SA (Special A) in the curriculum.
In her team, as it were a graduation subject of to say announcing actual fighting missions.
“Restrain the unlawful narcotics smuggling organization LA-66-Codename ‘Shadoloo’'s real leader’s person!”
“!” Colonel Wolfman is surrounded by an intuitive of distrust.
“Shadoloo…surely only the British interior would’ve targeted it, a worthless puny organization…previously an organization such that it’s existence was quite dangerous, says the data but…”
Regarding Shadoloo’s truth, there’s almost no one who knows that exact detail. They of the Special Building Unit Members aren’t an exception.
However for Colonel Wolfman, he sensed in “Shadoloo”'s name some kind of heavy ill omen.
"What will the military to say do with Cammy…Will the living body weapons project be discontinued to say reported…you don’t suppose, no."
There wasn’t a thing he wasn’t suspicious of one way or another. The mission’s execution being the most priority.
“This mission’s success, should become the greatest step for her human life…such that I couldn’t believe.”
The eastern sky continues increasing in brightness.
The boarded team takes off in a helicopter.
That, in time to arrive at the destined battle, peacefully passing the play has opened- .
Next time, the complete set of SSF2X ending portrait captions, and then some. Thanks as always for reading minna-san!
Speaking of the Birdie thing in FFS I always wondered if those Skull gangsters in that game had anything to do with or were lost remnants of the Skull Cross Gang. Just a hunch though based on reading about Skull cross in the Plot Guide, still have never played FF2 and FF3.
So that’s where the details of Cammy’s first encounter with Delta Red are from? I’ve read about them on several Japanese sites in tha past, but up until now I wasn’t completely convinced they originated from an official source.
Has anyone else noticed the Gouki posters w/ the Capcom heading in Final Fight 3’s first stage?
Yeah vas that was a great read, yet another spin on how she got the name Cammy, even though now she had that name in the Zero/Alpha series anyway, both Studio Udon and Masahiko Nakahira had her named Cammy by other people, Studio Udon - Rose, Masahiko Nakahira - Sakura, she was just Killer Bee first in those works. Maybe Wolfman naming her kicked off all of that.
That bit about her being able to heal her wounds fast is kind of funny considering the scar on her face isn’t going anywhere and now with the Zero series she’s had it for quite some time now.
Yes Golden Dragon, as far as I know that’s where those details are from.
sano, Colonel Wolfman naming her definitely kicked off the rest. The Cammy History novels built up details from the pendant used to identify her, and the rest is history. As for her scar, I’ve seen Capcom touch the issue once thus far, back in HnN, and it’s no longer valid today starting with the most recent version of Zero 2 Dash. Capcom had said she received it while on a terror group mission with her team, which could’ve held because all you saw were her portraits in SSF2, long after any previous missions they had, leading up to their given directive on going after Vega as described above. And yeah, like you said given her healing abilities why does that scar remain? Who knows? Nakahira-sensei chose to have Vega admit to leaving it on her in Cammy Gaiden, and Capcom USA decided to copy that explanation with their own twists added in Cammy’s SSF2 ending. All Japanese Cammy endings have failed to mention anything about her scar from the very beginning, and even though US Revival still adds extras like “my sweet little Cammy” it correctly omits any scar mention as well.
So what do u guys make of the latest issue of EGM saying that SF4 is rumored to come out next year?
If it’s a rumor, let’s wait and see if it becomes more than that. SF’s 20th anniversary forthcoming isn’t going to convince me of SF4 at this point.
The above mentioned attitude may have been influenced by the writer’s recent slew of research strikeouts, but you know what I mean.
Probably another off shoot of TAS swearing “if” and “were” is an official statement that we are getting something in 2007/2008.
Anything’s possible I guess but I’m not holding my breath.
