It’s apparently the complete Saiki Gamefaqs thread, no cropping. I don’t remember where I snagged this from, and I didn’t even realised I had it until about a week ago. Otherwise, I would have put it up long ago.
I’ll only keep the file around for a few days. I’ll probably take it down by Friday, so be sure to snag it while you can.
Well it turns out that SF1 was in fact set in '87, seeing as how vasili10 was able to confirm that the source he previously referred to was in fact a timeline and not a chronology of releases. I guess that’s my only beef with your timeline.
Metro City being peaceful in 1989 might be a reference to Rolento when Rolento invaded it with tanks. Does it mention Mad Gear there anywhere?
Freak: Sadly, your final paragraph that you used to reason with FF2’s date is the same type of reasoning that debunks the entire thing. Also, Final Fight Revenge had to have occurred during or before SFZ2 due to Sodom’s (and possibly Guy’s) storyline. Sodom wasn’t the leader of Mad Gear during FF Revenge (where most prologues are about people fighting for the leadership), but he was during SFZ2. Guy’s is more open to interpretation but it’s arguable that SFZ2 was his training period and it also could be interpreted that his FF Revenge ending was him embarking on that.
Capcom of America altered Final Fight facts before Capcom of Japan tightened their leesh for Final Fight Revenge. After that, all indications are that they stopped altering Final Fight facts. Not that it matters, because as I’ve stated, Streetwise was NOT used to actually override anything so much as simply go along with information we already know.
Why does the plot guide still say the dolls were all 16 during Alpha 3? Doesn’t AAC or AASFZ3 say that their ages range from teens to early 20’s or something?
About Mad Gear being mentioned in the first sentence of Guy’s Z3 stage story, no. It says the city’s peaceful, and it’s been a year since he’s acquired his title: 39th bushinryu master from battling Zeku.
Not only was Streetwise not used to override anything previous, it couldn’t alter anything from say, a Japanese counterpart because the game has no such thing, unlike something such as the latest version of SFZ2 Dash in Fighter’s Generation and Alpha Anthology, with Cammy’s story.
AAC mentions the dolls are between 10 and 20 years of age, and Cammy’s confirmed to be 15-16 in her Z3 entry, don’t know why there’s an estimate since in SF2 she’s stated flat-out as 19 but anyway. I don’t recall AAFSZ3 going into such info except it says Z3 takes place 3-4 years before SF2, (again that range to account for the possibility that Cammy might have been 15 even though 3 years back from 19 is 16 Capcom sheesh!:wasted: ) but yeah it’s a missed guide edit.
Thank you for explaining, Tiamat. In fact, Golden Dragon’s post is my point that I try to say. Maybe you should list all the contrandictions in your plot guide.
And what about Muscle Bombers series & SFIII series timeline?
Here’s my thought about Muscle Bombers series:
“Haggar became mayor 5 years before FF 1”, is a fact when the game stated that it took place in 1989.
Haggar was 40 years old in Muscle Bomber, when his official birthyear is 1943.
As stated above, I think Capcom of Japan really intend to set this series in 1983-1984.
For SF3 series, from the old Saiki’s post in Gamefaqs that Ultima just uploaded. He said SF3 took place 4 years after SF2. And from Redcyclone, SF3 Fanbook stated that Ryu was 33 years old.
Vasili: Ah, it doesn’t mention Mad Gear? Then it probably is referring to Rolento’s SFZ2 ending, then. Hmm, good to see some possible reference to that as opposed to it just being implied like I always thought was the case, before. Thanks! …alternatively, maybe the “1 year” isn’t meant to refer to Metro City being peaceful but is really ONLY meant to refer to when Guy became the next Bushin master.
Freak on Board: I obviously can’t give exact days that each event in the zero series occurred, but it’s generally agreed (…or at least my own deduction) on that Sakura’s SFZ2 events took place late during SFZ2 (AFTER Ryu had already gone after Akuma and then fought with Ken) and that Sakura and Sagat’s SFZ3 events took place early during SFZ3 (events with Ryu in SFZ3 likely occurred before the events with the Dolls and with Guile blowing up Bison). That might explain why it’s only a 1 year difference for them but a 2 year difference for everyone else. Alternatively, Sakura and Sagat’s SFZ2 storylines started in 1988 and ended in 1989 (both possibilities can be the case with Guy’s as well).
Golden Dragon: The plot guide likely says the Dolls were 16 because there’s a statement there that says they’re 16 that I forgot to edit. I could have sworn I got all of those. Could you point me to where the plot guide says they’re 16 so I can fix that one too?
I don’t alter anything. It just simply isn’t humanly possible enough for me to disclaim enough to account for every single nitpicker in the world who can’t put two and two together and realize the meaning of the disclaimer despite all my efforts.
EDIT: I was told that AAC said they were in their teens, not between 10 and 20 years of age. So it says the latter, then? Wow, I can’t even imagine even the more kiddie-ish looking ones like Juni or Enero being only 11 years old. O_o
In Japan, the teen years aren’t from just 13-19, but from as early as 10; that’s how AAC’s entry of between 10-20 years can be interpreted.
Going back to how I said that Capcom has set as equally official birthdates and ages for the Final Fight cast, they may have eventually veered towards the latter. For Haggar in AAC, his FF1 profile is listed minus his birthdate and age (same for Guy & Cody), but he’s declared to be 41 years old in Super Muscle Bomber.
Also even though Guy’s Z3 stage story doesn’t mention Metro City’s peaceful due to Mad Gear’s defeat, Haggar’s AAC Z3 entry does; it calls him the one who crushed Mad Gear one year previous, and as Zero 3 opens, due to Shadoloo’s doing Metro City begins to experience unrest yet again. Whether Shadoloo’s operatives include the Skull Cross gang or some other unnamed group or individuals is not known for sure.
Ah, so AAC doesn’t specifically say 10-20 but it’s possible to interpret “teen years” as that. Hmm. Are “teen years” always interpreted as 10-20 or only sometimes interpreted as 10-20 in Japanese?
Wow, Haggar has an AAC Z3 entry. Didn’t realize he’d get an entire Z3 entry that talked that much about him when at most he cameo’d in a background Metro City’s unrest might be referring to Cody’s Z3 storyline where there’s the jail riot and Cody also fights Birdie (who likely was meant to represent another Metro City thug in Metro City? Because I dunno why the actual Birdie would talk to Cody like that in England. …I think. Cripes, good grief, Capcom).
Ack, too bad it doesn’t mention if Cody or Guy crushed (or helped Haggar crush) Mad Gear one year previous (far as I know).
No it really does say between 10-20, that’s what got me confused when you said “teens” later on. So I looked up “teen” and found that in Japan they group them differently. In English the teen years are the ones that end in “-teen” when written out, 13 thru 19. In Japanese they’re the years that have “ten-” written out, 10-19. For example, “fifteen” in Japanese is written as “ten-five”. So their “teens” are the ages that start with “ten-” as they’re written out, including “ten” by itself. Cultural lesson.
Cody’s jailbreak could be part of it. Yeah Haggar has a Z3 entry in AAC; it’s where we learn that his term will end two years later. I feel that because it doesn’t mention Cody or Guy, it refers to the final crush during FF2 and the scattered remnants in Metro City during SFZ2, in which Cody and Guy didn’t partake.
Hey RamirezPlatinum, you were on the right track after all about asking if Gouki was based off a diety. While trying to find something claimed on the forums at sfdevotion.com, I found that Gouki’s AAC SSF2X entry mentions that perhaps Gouki’s design was in fact modeled after a Buddhist image or statue. Nothing more specific is printed though. Thanks for bringing that up, and my apologies if I totally dismissed it.
As per indications found in the plot guide, I’m using this topic to drop Tiamat a message (don’t worry guys, won’t become a habit)
I really just wanted to tell you Tiamat, that I’ve sent you you another letter like that one time when I signaled you that small mistake about Yun and Yang from a past version fo the guide.
This time I made a more extensive job of checking though
Anyway, just wanted to make sure you got the message without problems.
…wow, 261 pages… nice to see there’s still much interest in SF’s story. Great work everybody
that shadaloo site used to be mine.
I had the idea of making a SF site before going to college…
after some time without updates, the server deleted it.
now that college is over, I’m planning doing another sf site.
what happened with sigfried site with sf translations? is it offline?
Sweet! Could you tell me what was here Lord Vega? Do you still have the pics or the text? What Japanese sources did you use?

Hi guys.
Go to: http://www.shadaloo.hpg.ig.com.br/Games/
The first 12 pictures concerns about Gouken and his death (well, almost). The story is about:
Gouken VS Vega (not shown)
Ken VS Balrog (not shown)
Ryu VS Sagat (Sagat gains his scar)
hope you all enjoy… a shame it’s in japanese…
Siegfried had SF translations somewhere? I didn’t know about that. What happened to those?
