Warriors Fate: Street Fighter story thread, revived

Hey, thanks, Sieg!

Wow, looks a bit different from the card game, even if it’s the same art. Weird.

That Q pic is probably in the japanese version of CE, and probably got scrapped in the American version, but I’ll have to look.

Nope. It’s in the american version too.

And you don’t suppose it might just be some guy in a trench coat? If Capcom can forget characters like Gouken’s daughter and Bison’s fellow students, they certainly wouldn’t plan ahead like this.

tarkanX: cool pic, but i doubt capcom planned that far ahead
siegfreid: cool pics

so that guy in hugo’s TS ending is:

Hell they forgot who Guy’s master was.

I think we’re so desperate for Q information we’re prepared to accept it as real. Maybe the story for Q sat in some guy’s file cabinet until SF3 came out.

Holy Sh*t!!! Capcom must have done some planning ahead this time. They used that strange guy just about when they were running out of good character plans. . .

So that’s how Q witnessed the downfall of Shadowloo. I still don’t know why the CIA are after him. . .

Well, Q was officially stated to be seen around the world in Street Fighter tournament areas, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he was at the SF2 tournament viewing various matches. I would be surprised as hell though if Capcom planned that far ahead and that really was Q. Can it be confirmed that that background character is in the Japanese version? Is that Q-ish guy in SF2 Revival?

It is true though that ‘downfall of Shadaloo’ probably refers to him seeing the SF2 tournament when I think about it, but who knows? Blarg…

I played through SFA2’ today and noticed Ryu’s ending. In the pre fight dialogue with Akuma he says:

“So, we meet again.”

Is this just a bad translation? From the dialogue, it doesn’t seem to refer to Akuma’s time with Gouken, but to an earlier fight (possibly in SFA1).

hey guys, i got a few questions/requests.

For one…what exactly is Psycho power? Did Bison acquire it at a young age? Or did he create it scientifically. Also, a little history on Bison would be cool.

Two…Ken, why doesn’t he simply challenge Ryu? I sometimes wonder if he has doubts on whether he can defeat him.

Also, Are Dudley and Eagle friends or possibly related by some strange coincidence? Same etiquette, and the same sweep move hmmm…both from england.

Finally, What is the story with Gen and Akuma? Is it just two fighter’s with the rawest form of Ansatsuken? I wonder if gen has the SnH inside him as well…

Thanks in advance.

I think that was just a fubar from the guys at Capcom USA, personally. If Ryu had seen Akuma, he’d have chased him WAY before, since Akuma would give Ryu a good fight, even though it was a death match. But then again…if the Alpha series is a bunch of guys pushing their own agendas…what I’m saying doesn’t make sense.

And I personally don’t think Dudley and Eagle know each other…it’s just that both follow the stereotype of the well-mannered englishman, Birdie being the punk englishman (Sex Pistols and all that shit)

It’s an energy not created by Vega. He trained with 2 other people under a master.
Tiamat is the real Vega expert here. Maybe he’ll reply. Or you can go check out his FAQ.

Ken and Ryu spar quite a bit. Sometimes Ken wins but I think Ryu wins most of the time. Ken seems to know that Ryu is a bit better than he is.

I don’t know of any relation between the two characters.

Gen and Gouki use the same fighting style. Each considers the other a worthy challenge. Gen uses mostly Kung-Fu styles and Gouki uses mostly Karate attacks.
Gen got sick in the Zero era and was looking for a death duel. No one has seen Gen in ages, so he’s probably dead.
There are 4 possibilities.

  1. Gen found and defeated Gouki.
I don’t like this one because Gouki is still alive. There is no reason why Gen would not kill him.
  2. Gouki found and defeated Gen
A possibility. But Gouki never mentions it.
  3. They never met and Gen dies of his sickness
This is the one I like the most.
  4. Gen is still kicking
No real evidence. The subject of Gen simply dissappears out of SF before 2.

Pretty much. Gen has no problems about killing people in a fight, unlike Ryu/Ken. This would lead me to believe he was one of the stronger streetfighters.
Gen doesn’t show any SnH desire. He just wanted a decent death.

I think Gen in his SFA3 ending beats Gouki but doesn’t kill him, then after that just gives up fighting because he realizes he’s never going to find his death match. Either that or he killed Gouki in that ending, in which case his SFA3 ending is obviously what-if. It’s a bit hard to tell from the fubarred translation  At any rate, I guess Gen would consider sparing Gouki then (if he did in his SFA3 ending) because before he fights Gouki, he fights Ryu as a mid-boss and notices Ryu’s ‘pure’ fighting style (in that Ryu’s isn’t lethal). Erm… yea :stuck_out_tongue: Not really sure, though.

As for Psycho Power… erm, Berias pretty much covered it really. Not much more to add because there really isn’t very much on Vega/Bison. Well, okay, I can add that it channels energy from negative emotions, but that’s about it, really. I suppose you can get more by digging into the link/FAQ in my sig. I’m just too lazy to go repeat myself (really tired. Just got back home and parents are making me do lots of crap to help around the house :stuck_out_tongue: )

Ryu in SF3 remarks to Ken that he has the better win record, though saying “I have the better win record” also indicates that it was still rather close. Ken and Ryu fight and spar all the time. Really not much need for Ken to challenge Ryu out right pretty much cause they have tons of friendly fights already, anyways (though in between SF2 and SF3, they haven’t seen each other for a while, judging by SF3 dialogue).

On a really random note, I forget if I said this, but to Sano, thanks for the pics^^ That Birdie Titanic Tim one was frightening

I never saw any SF3 endings in all honesty (just read about them from dialogue faqs and people who did) so… I dunno about that guy in Hugo’s ending.

I checked my copy of ST in the SF collection for Saturn.

he’s not there.

Simply put, the Q look-alike can only be found in WW, CE, and HF (in all regions, not just Japan). When the graphics got a facelift for the CPS2 hardware, some background characters were altered. So SSF2 and ST are the wrong places to look for “Q”.

It’s not Q. In other versions of SF2, that character has different color, which makes him look less than Q.

Maybe the similarity in color in CE is just a coincidence.

Hmmmmmm…at first I thought that the guy in Ken’s stage is Q. But then I thought Capcom couldn’t possibly have thought of that.

TiamatRoar - You’re welcome. Anything I can do to help!

There’s also a pic of Gen knocking down Gouki in that versus book. If I remember correctly, Gouki’s on the floor holding his head in pain, while Gen’s just standing their superior. Although this drawing is outlined like the Birdie and Titanic Tim art, (no color) it leads me to beleive that Gen does defeat Gouki in Alpha 3, but doesn’t consider him worthy enough to be killed. It almost looks like they’re not even on the same level in the drawing. Perhaps I’ll scan that drawing next time around, but it will have to wait until I come back from vacation in a few weeks.

Maybe they used that guy as inspiration to make Q, then realized they had changed him later on and went “Aw, screw it.”

I think it probably is Q.

I’m with Igatona in this.

I mean as Tiamat said:
“Well, Q was officially stated to be seen around the world in Street Fighter tournament areas, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he was at the SF2 tournament viewing various matches”

And it is also stated that Q witnessed the downfall of shadaloo so probably he witnessed it throughout the second tournament or after…

I mean… the story department maybe didnt knew of the removing of “Q” in the facelift for the Cps2 hardaware.

or maybe its just that I want it to be that way.
