Random: Here’s a link to a translation of that college men incident for Sakura if anyones’ interested. I was wondering if I was reading into it a bit too much when I suspected it was attempted rape but it seems like I probably wasn’t.
Hey Vasili, could you translate these? Well, specifically Sho’s character bio if the other stuff is too much (although I’m trying to figure out if Mack is an alien or not as well)
Like Dash no Chris said, (growls at him for not replying back for so long:mad: ) the first link has three early stage drawings of Urien, a page from the 2I Secret File BTW.
The four characters are rejected designs for NG, a page this time from the NG Secret File. From sketches left to right : Stone Man, America Girl, Detective Rage, and Brute.
A user of ninjutsu, the sucessor of the ninja arts of Bushinryu. Boastful of his weapon, the sharp Japanese katana, his enemy is a bobbed haircut right in half (straight down the middle I’m assuming).
Thanks, Vasili! Hmm… guess the bio I got on Mack was wrong, then. Gee, now I’m wondering if that whole “Sho’s clan was turned evil” thing was official, although the game seems to show it is via the ninja level (course, that could always just be another clan of ninjas, but that seems kinda… random)
I forget where I saw it. I then later saw the alien thing (including on the American flyer) and was trying to figure out if Capcom of USA changed him to an alien or if that original thing I had was right or not. Well, at least it looks like their translation is generally reliable (Ginzu’s English profile says almost the same thing as your translation albeit with different wording but same meaning). Hmm. Wish I could get a hold of a CC Instruction manual now or something. Found one at coinop.org but that was just for how to set up the machine. Pretty darn positive the Metro City thing was true at least, though, albeit I forget where I initially saw that as well (but it’s from a different source than the erroneous Mack bio, at least)
I think Captain Commando taking place in Metro City was first mentioned by Snowstorm of all things from what I recall. For all my qualms with that person, she can at least actually speak Japanese and looks into storylines a lot, even if she typically ends up with a rather… odd viewpoint.
I’ll have to recheck this but I’m almost certain CCC on the PSP refers to Jenetty/Mack as an alien too, something about him covering up his appearace and when he stabs people they disentigrate (like what happens in the game). Their bios in CC flash for like one second during a speedy in game intro. I think it metions it during Captain Commando’s history you can see in the game, like SF1’s history that I posted before.
You can see the in-game bios for them at the arcade fliers site (screenshots of the bios are there in the English fliers). Which I guess at least confirms that Ginzu really is 28 years old during Captain Commando. Him benig a successor of Bushinryu is also stated in his English flier, but not in his in-game bio (not enough room there, I guess).
So with Captain Commando being the same Captain Commando of Section Z,(CCC states this also, it’s in the SF plot guide too) I guess that’s yet another game related to SF.
The funny one is ‘Super Joe.’ It’s the same guy in a bunch of games, the original Commando, Mercs, Avengers, even Bionic Commando, he sure gets around…
Yea, there’s even a rumour going around that Joe of SF1 is Super Joe. I find that rather doubtful, though. It does explain why there was also a rumour going around about Joe being in the army, though.
I put this together last week after seeing some people wondering about it on a message board. Of course, it doesn’t mean these games are all within the same continuity (far from it) but just in case more surprises like Captain Commando show up (which will probably not be the case but that’s what just in case is for)
Son Son - VERY long ago. Maybe 3rd century judging by mythos, I imagine)
Breath of Fire - Beats me. I recall some BoF’s are centuries apart, though.
Likely does not even follow the same date system as the real world)
Ominusha - Ancient Japan
Ghouls n Ghosts - Middle Ages somewhere
Maximo - Middle Ages somewhere
Power Stone - Some time in the 19th century
Dino Stalker - 1943
Commando, Bionic Commando, Mercs - 198X (HIGHLY doubtful that Super Joe is Joe)
Slam Masters - 1981
Slam Masters 2 - 1982
Darkstalkers - took place in 1983 (retconned from 1991 by Nightwarriors)
Final Fight - 1987
Street Fighter 1 - 1987
Final Fight 2 - 1988
Street Fighter Alpha 2 - 1988
Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max - 1990
Street Fighter EX [series] - Dunno. Around here, I think.
Final Fight 3 - 1991
Street Fighter 2 Revival - 1993
Street Fighter 3: Double Impact - 1998
Street Fighter 3: Third Strike - 1998 (1989?)
Darkstalkers 3 - 1999
Warzard - 1999, I think
Resident Evil series - sometime around 1990 to 2000?
Dino Crisis series - Somewhere around 2000?
Rival Schools - 1999? (Someone said this was official statement but I dunno.
Of course, it would assume that RS is disconnected from SF, which wouldn’t be
surprising. Evolution 2 has the same storyline as 1 in the main game, btw)
Project Justice - 2000? (a year after RS)
Mega Man series - 200X
Cannon Spike - 20XX
Section Z - 20XX
Captain Commando - 2026
Strider - 2040
Crimson Tears - 2049
Mega Man X [series] - 21XX
Strider 2 - 2140
Mega Man Zero series - 22XX
Powered Gear - Variant Armor - 2281-2282
Cyberbots - Sometime after Powered Gear
Star Gladiator - 24th Century
Varth: Operation Thunderstorm - 2667 A.D.
Megaman Legends - Many centuries after Mega Man Zero (confirmed to be within
same continuity in All About Capcom and All About Rockman or something)
Megaman Battle Network - ??? (Confirmed to be Alternate Universe from
other Megaman games in AAC and All About Rockman or something)
Sidearms - I heard 9750 A.D. but not sure
Legendary Wings - 10000
Forgotten Worlds - I heard 12540 A.D. but not sure
At least according to the CCC games in most of the games he’s called Super Joe from Commando to Bionic Commando, I think Joe is his name only in Mercs, but I’d be hella suprised if that wasn’t him in Mercs myself…
MM1 and MM2 are the only games that take place in 200X. The rest take place in 20XX. Though in Megaman Powered Up they say 20XX for MMPU AKA MM1, not sure you should take that seriously or not, because MMPU adds 2 more robots, it messes up the numbers of the robots for all future games(Megaman and Roll are supposed to be the other 2 robots of the first 8, not Oilman and Timeman). Also in MMPU, Light tells MM that if he defeats robots using his Buster only he can fix them and they can become good guys, it doesn’t effect the story in the game really but that’s how you unlock the robots so you can play as them, but we know this is wrong because MM defeated all of the robots in MM1. So not sure if MMPU is supposed to rewrite stuff or not. The US version of MMPU even calls Rock ‘Mega.’ Wikipedia now calls MM Mega instead of Rock. MMMasterSTE, our SRK resident MM expert went to Wikipedia to change it to Rock and someone changed it back Mega… He’s still Rock and Rockman in Japan though. Mega doesn’t make as much sense as Rock and Roll to me…
Guile in SVC Chaos knows of Megaman, he mentions him to Zero(Zero is time traveling in SVC Chaos) so SNKP was most likely going with MM happening around 200X too.
MM legends happens 3,000 years after Zero 4. But I don’t think we have an accurate time when Zero 1-4 happens, just that it happens sometime after MMX AFAIK.
I was under the impression that Warzard either happened in the far future or on an alternate Earth… but could be and probably am wrong about that.
Just to point out (not saying you TiamatRoar don’t know this, but just to say I guess) that Powered Gear and Cyberbots are not related (more importantly, Vash and Jin Saotome are not blood related) even though they have slightly different versions of the Blodia robot, it’s kind of like all of the Gundam animes usually have a red/blue/white robot as the leader but not all Gundam shows are related. Jin in Tech Romancer is an Eater Egg, the Blodia robot is different there too, much bigger because the mechs in TR are bigger.
EDITS - Edited like a bunch of times whenever I remembered something…
…yeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaa, I think I’ll include a disclaimer that I have not completey verified the authenticity of the dates in that schedule because that’s beyond the scope of the Street Fighter plot guide.
I always thought that the main character of Bionic Commando was named Rad or Lad or something in that vein…and aren’t Commando and Bionic Commando totally unrelated games?
