Definitely, what with the stage being in his native Germany.
Bishop: Ah, okay, thanks! ^^ I saw someone had extracted the script to Fire Emblem 8 once and that script even included all the optional dialogue etc, so was wondering if that was possible for other games
Vasili: Yea, the thing was in the plot guide, I quoted someone as saying that âIf Hugo went back to Germany, then he never went back to his motherâ which caused me to look at his stages. Apparently, his SFDI stage is in Germany but just in Town Square. Itâs not until SF3 Third Strike that his stage becomes âHome Sweet Homeâ. Given that Third Strike is an epilogue meant to wrap everyonesâ plotlines up, it would make sense from a âHappy endingâ perspective that Hugo decided after doing well in SF3DI that he finally had grown into a real man and thus returned home.
Just beat Final Fight Streetwise. Towards the end it gets really like Resident Evil + X-Men, lol! Thought it was a fun ride, nice to know what became of everybody after FF1. Iâll play through it tomorrow up to the part where you fight Cammy since I missed it the first time around.
I give it a 7 out of 10.
I liked the various FF1 revelations they threw in at the end Wish there were more returning FF characters or relations.
Can someone describe what Joeâs (of SF1) spin kick looks like by any chance? I saw Ghost do a standing single-spin kick and was wondering if it was like that. Or is it like Codyâs spin kick instead where it requires him to jump first? Trying to figure out just how similar to Joe is Ghost. So far, although the character look is near exactly the same, the fighting styles seem completely different.
Playing against Joe multiple times in SF1, I canât seem to get him to do any sort of move that looks like a spin kick (I do see how Codyâs moves were based after his, though, at least. The jump kick animation makes it obvious).
Bwahaha, two of the possible names for Italian enemies are Mario and Luigi.
And Arcade Mode is a pain in the butt. The thing actually froze on me midway through the third stage. Fun how you can combo nearly anything into a pile driver with Haggar, though.

Latest version of the CFE faq is up, second link in my sig.
vasili10 - A few more quote requests for next time. No rush, whenever you can. If itâs a lot maybe you can do half one time and half another time, thatâs cool.
Guy to Vega and vice versa
Guy to Urien and vice versa
Guy to Demitri and vice versa
Guy to Anakaris and vice versa
Guy to Jedah and vice versa
Guy to Hauzer and vice versa
Guy to Nool and vice versa
Ingrid to Vega and vice versa
Ryu to Vega and vice versa
Requesting Guy to all of the bad guys in CFJ to see if he still carries his âthe end justifies the meansâ attitude he showed in FFS. Ingrid and Vega, well, just to see how they spoke to each other before SFZ3 decided to make them maybe have something to do with each other. And Ryu to Vega, honestly I canât believe we didnât get that one before since heâs a third candidate to win SF2 after Guile and Chun-Li. Thanks as always.
Finally fought Cammy in FF STreetwise. She has one of the best looking models in the game! Her voice actorâs not that bad either, but still my favorite Cammy voice was in X-Men vs. SF. Iâm gonna have a seperate save file that leaves me in front of the dojo so I can beat her up whenever I want.
Iâll do you one better.

As you can see, Joeâs âPowa!â spin kick is the progenitor to Codyâs fwd+roundhouse in SFA3.
I tend to think Joe and Ghost are different characters. Joe and Ghostâs styles seem different. Joeâs looks like American kickboxing, Ghostâs is most likely Muy Thai. And with everyone in Metro City aging, I find it hard to think that Ghost could be Joe, as Joe would more than likely be older than Cody, and Ghost doesnât look that old.
However, from a style standpoint, I thought one way it could be reconciled. Perhaps Joe uses Savate, a French martial art that combines street fighting with kickboxing. Yellow is the color of mastery in that discipline, which would explain why Ghost has a yellow stripe on his red jeans now if Ghost is Joe. However, Savate does not employ strikes with the shin, knees or elbows like Muy Thai, and Joe has a lunging elbow attack and a thrusting knee strike in his arsenal. So, thatâs kind of discredited unless Joeâs simply a dirty fighter.
Honestly, Iâd be surprised if Capcom even put that much thought into Ghost to even think about all that. If Ghost is Joe, they probably just used and updated the design, gave him whatever moves they though were cool, and donât even care if it meshes canonically. Like when they brought Birdie back and made him black.
Another thing worth noting is that the old trainyard in the pier district of Streetwise looks nearly identical to Joeâs stage in SF1. Was it ever stated canonically where Joeâs stage was?
Ghostâs style is definately Muay Thai. Kyle says so in his journal in the first ghost fight (itâs spelled âMuay Thaiâ in his journal. I remember there being a debate a while back on how to spell it. Hmm). After playing against Joe in SF1 a bunch, their styles donât look very similar and neither do their standing animations. And that âspin kickâ of Joeâs seems to be the jump kick, and Ghost never jumps, so that rules that out.
Hmm, itâs probably just a coincidence then. I found out that Ghost is actually just a blonde version of Vittoâs other henchmen when it comes to looks. Vitto tells him to take Kyle down to the pits the first time around, and the guy that Vitto talks to thatâs indicated to be the same guy Guy will fight in the pit fight later (he twists his fists as if heâs getting ready to fight Kyle) is just one of Vittoâs generic men. Of course, he has black hair instead of blonde, but I think thatâs a bug. Because when Kyle goes to see Vitto a second time, you see that same guy in the background except this time his hair is blonde and it looks exactly like Ghost in a suit (who in turn looks exactly like the rest of Vittoâs generic henchmen except with blonde hair instead of black).
And then the camera pans away from him, and by the time it pans back, his hair is black again. What a strange bug Magical color changing hair!
Also, Ghost seems to use the same punch style as the rest of Vittoâs henchmen. Itâs only the kicks where he starts to differ.
âŚeh, Iâve been playing Arcade mode a good deal lately so Iâve been noticing these things
Iâm pretty sure Joeâs stage wasnât stated, but some speculated a while back that it looked like New York. And New York basically is Metro City, so I wouldnât be surprised.
(The bridge in New York is known as the Manhatten Bridge, right? I forget. Stiffâs looking at it from the hotel room before Kyle comes crashing in)
Really? I miss so much not checking that thing.
I once suggested Joeâs stage was in Chicago because the scenery looks just like a picture of a Chicago train yard I have with the Sears Tower in the background, plus the plane flies to the US Midwest before the fight starts; but it also seems that the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building are both in the stageâs backdrop, towards the left. So yeahâŚ
I believe the exact line is this:
There usually arenât too many important bits of information in that journal, although sometimes it gets pretty funny.
Thereâs a few bridges here in NYC. Manhattan Bridge, Brooklyn Bridge, Williamsburg Bridge, Triborough Bridge, George Washington Bridge, 59th Street Bridge, could be any of those.
Brooklyn Bridge seems to be the most famous one, for fiction anyway. Itâs were Spider-Man lost Gwen Stacy in the comics. And also used in the first Spider-Man movie, which recreated the story, minus Gwen Stacy dying.
EDIT: Seems like both New York City and Metro City exist in this world with the SF3 stages and all. Much like both Gotham City and New York City exist in DC comics.
Avengers/JLA crossover had a good explanation on how this could work. When the DC heroes travled to the Marvel world where Metropolis would be, it was just a small grass field and thatâs it. They deduced that America was just bigger in the DC universe and allowed room for more cities, like Gotham, Metropolis, Smallville, etc. And of course Marvel had a few countries/regions DC didnât have, Madripoor, Savage Land, Genosha, etc.
What a brilliant explanation not.
Haggar was born in New York yet holds Metro City as so dear to his heart that youâd think that was where he was born, so Iâm just going to consider them the same thing for all intents and purposes.
Here are the alleged Poison and Sodom clips, by the way, courtesy of El_Gado at Gamefaqs. Sodomâs is almost a sure thing. Poison seems to sound a bit young though (sheâs also a woman, but this is Capcom of America here, soâŚ)

Eh, thought it was clever. They did a similar thing with the Speed Force not working in the Marvel Universe, pointed out how heroes are loved in DC and hated in Marvel, (when DC went to the Marvle side people yelled âMUTIES!â and threw stuff at them, when Marvel went to the DC side people wanted their autographs and offered them movie deals lol) featured every Avenger and JLA member ever, was a really good crossover looking at both worlds, if youâre into that sort of thing.
Hey vasili10, Gun_grave_ of Gamefaqs says thanks for the Mukuro quotes.
Cool dat, just went to Gamefaqs CFE boards and left a âPas du toutâ from me.:wgrin:
I feel sorry for the employees of Studio 8, given that we now know that in many ways, the Final Fight Streetwise debacle was Capcom of Japanâs fault in the first place.
Hey that sucks. But look at the bright side, now Studio 8 canât make SF4. Capcom USA having SFâs rights really doesnât mean jack now. Not that any of it means anything if SF4 never comes out anyway.
I wonder if yet another FF game will come along and make it so FFS isnât canon, such as what happens with unpopular games, like Castlevania 64, the CD Philips Legend of Zelda games and so on.
