Warriors Fate: Street Fighter story thread, revived

I didn’t see any sign of that whatsoever. No mention of it at all and not even an appearance by a random adult Japanese woman (only Japanese females in Japantown seem to be angry schoolgirls from what I’ve found so far). The only people I’ve seen hanging out with Guy in the brief scenes of him with his group were his fellow (Bushin, I think) ninja members of his clan/gang and Lou the Skin. Hmm… I’m going to take a closer look in a certain battle to see if any woman is standing next to Guy in it in the background because I didn’t do that the first time around (too busy recording the names of Guy’s ninjas to think to look if a woman was standing next to Guy as he watched the fight) but I’m not too hopeful.

Barring that, it was either cut, or maybe it’s a super hidden secret. …sorta like the situation with Sodom and Poison, I suppose. Hey, maybe there’s this super hidden secret quest is Sodom kidnapping Rena or something? Darned if I know and that sounds overly optimistic. I’m trying to beat the game with 100% to see if that’ll unlock anything but before I can do that I need to figure out what two sidequests I missed. I know Magic Cards Pt 2 was one of them and I think I know where to find that, but that leaves the question of if Magic Cards Pt 1 exists (or if Magic Cards Pt 1 does not exist as a sidequest because it was accounted for in the main story) and what the other side quest I’m missing could possibly be. Blarg.

Some people beat Arcade mode and it hasn’t turned up anything either, but there might be some super secret unlockable stage for arcade mode that no one’s found yet (because currently, the last boss of Arcade mode being Lou is just STUPID). …like Sodom and Poison. And Rena.

Thinking about it, Guy’s “by any means necessary” approach is also on display in Final Fight 3. In every ending, when Lucia annouces that Metro City is in shambles Guy’s reply is that that’s Haggar’s job to deal with. I’d always read it as Guy saying it in jest, but in light of where Guy has gone, he must of been dead serious. They took out Skull Cross, and nothing else mattered to him.

Hmm, interesting point. I’ll have to go back and look at that ending again, but it did always seem to me that the brunt of the rebuilding would fall on Haggar’s shoulders.

Someone mentioned on Gamefaqs, “After playing this game, I have new respect for Sodom and Cammy. Sodom and Cammy just really aged well” while commenting about the game.

It’s pretty hard to mix up Sodom’s name with someone else’s. Of course, I’m asking where he found Sodom. LOL, for all the alleged shortness of this game and the crappiness of the unlockable bonuses (a horribly emulated version of Final Fight and a bunch of music videos I don’t care about. Mwa?), it sure is doing a good job keeping me occupied trying to search for secrets that may or may not exist.

Found Magic Cards Part 2. Part 1 likely doesn’t exist as it’s represented by a storyline event from what I can tell. But a stupid sidequest bugged up on me so I doubt I’ll be able to get 100% on this play through even if I manage to find the other side quest I’m missing. Bah.

How does Cammy sound in FFS? American accent? British Accent? Other?

Man I gotta play this game more…

Drat, he was basing his outlook of Sodom on the promo comic and hasn’t actually found him in-game. Blech.

Cammy sounds like her Alpha 3 voice to me. Only quote I can remember from her is her “Come on!” taunt and if I remember right, it sounded just like her SFA3 one except slightly older.

Her fighting stance, cannon spike, and cannon drill are pretty much what you’d expect, though I believe she has to do a running start before she can do the cannon drill (which is more realistic than the instant inertia way she does it in the Street Fighter games, I suppose). Not sure, though, but I’ve only ever seen her do it after running at me from a distance.

She also has some sorta handstand flip kick or something which I think is supposed to be like her fierce kick from the SF games.

Sounds like her SFA3 voice huh? Good to hear, thanks.

About 72% done with FFS now. Seems like Cody had sex with Madame Celeste. It’s nice to know he still gets some lovin’ even though him and Jessica didn’t work out. The remix of the first song in FF was nice when you encounter Haggar in the Game. I liked Guy in this game, he seemed to only be a crime boss so he could protect his people (Japanese Imigrants) in crime ridden Metro City. Lots of fun! I’m up to the part where Weisel is tossing grenades at me. Looks like the story mode isn’t too long, I’ll prolly wrap things up by the end of next week. Still, Onimusha Dawn of Dreams is out and MM Powered up 1 on the PSP comes out this week, gonna be hard to focus on just FFS lol!

It’s pathetic that it took me ten seconds to realize what you were talking about. Wow, that just completely went over my head but now suddenly Kyle’s awkward “Oh.” when Celeste handed him Cody’s keys makes a lot more sense. At first, I thought that was just a deus ex machina but now I realize that that’s just… hilarious.

I wish Madame Celeste had some Rose paraphernalia somewhere in her parlor or something.

The game starts getting kinda hard around where you are, I think. Hope you upgraded as much as possible before taking on Weasel.

Much to my frustration in my quest to get a “perfect” game with all sidequests and pit fights completed, there appears to only be a VERY small window of time you can access the pit fighting in Japan town :wasted: Guess it’s time for a third playthrough for me.

On a random note, I notice from the credits that some of the random names that the generic thugs can get were probably named after various staff members (Maki and Ryubei were a few). Also, Sho/Ginzu being a possible random name for one of Guy’s genin wouldn’t make much sense since Sho/Ginzu is only like, 12 years old or so in 2006.

Did Joe use any Muy Thai in Street Fighter 1? According to Kyle’s journal, that’s Ghost’s fighting style.

Locksmith has a flash kick without the flash (he even has to duck for 2 seconds before he can use it) and his shirt says “Westside Dragons”. I thought that maybe Kyle’s hood was the Westside, but its subway station is above ground, so probably not. And Westside seemed more populated (although both the Hood and the Westside have cops running around :P).

It’s odd that so many people talk about how dangerous Japantown is right down to the cops when Guy’s group is supposed to be there keeping order. What, those angry schoolgirls proving too much for them to handle?

I took a closer look during the battle against Guy’s genin. Sadly didn’t see any Rena there, either. Hrm. Maybe yet another of an apparent many things that were cut from the final version :frowning: This game would be so much cooler for the Final Fight fanboy if she, Sodom, and Poison were actually in it.

Some more long overdue CFJ quote requests, said I was going to bring them out with T. Hawk’s street story, but I didn’t realize how long it would take me to do the stage stories and the map below, so:

Mukuro to Ryu

“The prime of life…it comes to weigh you down.”

Ryu to Mukuro

“Is there any need…for words? Let’s meet some other time.”

Mukuro to Chun Li

“Decisive action…evade goblins.”

Chun Li to Mukuro

“You abandon all feelings? For me it’s an impossible feat.”

Mukuro to Demitri

“The Buddha’s heart…thou art of no business with it.”

Demitri to Mukuro

“Content with being a soldier eh…it’s not something fit for me.”

Mukuro to Rose

“Destiny…it exists in heaven.”

Rose to Mukuro

“Your body’s already at its limits. Why your expression hasn’t changed…it’s amazing mental power right?”

Mukuro to Ingrid

“The mind’s eye…thy question of true or false.”

Ingrid to Mukuro

“Not very long is the human existence. But sinking to concealing splits and also scatters freedom.”

The island main base of Shadoloo completely cracked from the foldout supplied in the Complete File. After the text “THE BASE,” words in [] are map entries specified and “-” indicate given descriptions. All other text is added by me for map-traversing purposes. Enjoy and next time the captions for the twelve SF2 stages, including some points for those of the new challengers. Thanks as always for reading minna-san.

This is the evil organization!!
The Shadoloo Secret Base

"For a Shadoloo member, placing struggles one-on-one, must not be defeated by others!"
Every place in the world, the organization’s lower grade group members follow from the example of the leaders to what is called smoke with crushing defeats in street fighting. Referring to this information, Commander “Vega” being the first on the list of Shadoloo’s supreme members the shitenoh assembles the young elites at a solitary island of the distant seas, here is established the evil utopia.

Various Members

For a Shadoloo member, each possesses a suitable skill while foremost as a fighting stylist.
Examples pictured are from left to right, general group member, scientist, underwater worker, cook.

In your world, no matter what you believe Shadoloo is tied into it!

the [shopping center]- is the avenue for people’s essentials for living.

the [rental video shop]- young girls and old folks alternate for store tending.

and the [bar], conveniently the closest to the atomic reactor’s exhaust port.

ROFL. I caught that immediately. Cody’s got taste, I’ll give 'im that.

Yea, you’ve basically got to get in all your Japantown fighting in right after you and Guy escape from the fire.

IIRC, Joe was an American-style kickboxer, like DeeJay.

A mention of Jessica wouldn’t have hurt either. Did she just disappear? Or at least confirm her death or something.

I’ma scan Streetwise to see if there’s any unused audio that’d be of interest…

Yea, seriously, you’d think with Haggar in the game and all the dialogue/story in it, they’d at least have mentioned Jessica or something.

Maybe they’re going by Final Fight Revenge continuity. Didn’t she like… die there or something? Though in that case, even if she did die a long time ago and Haggar had enough time to get over the mourning period, you’d think Haggar would still keep a photo of her on his desk in his gym or something (I didn’t see any when I checked).

El Gado at gamefaqs (…is that you? ) said there doesn’t seem to be any voice clips or files or anything to indicate that Sodom and Poison are in the game. Bummer :frowning:

Ah well, I’ll still try to finish a third playthrough to see if there’s anything else I missed. Still need to finalize some details from the game for the guide, anyways.

On my second playthrough I discovered that even the rats have names in this game

Thanks vas! With all of the Ingrid SFA3 max stuff I should have enough for an update, I’ll just copy and paste your quotes.

I got past the part where you fight ____death (trying to remain spoiler free as possible.) I wonder what Capcom USA’s obsession with putting zombies into Final Fight is all about… now that I think about it Glow is a possible way for Belger to revive himself and become Zombie Belger, (or at the bery least, an earlier version of Glow) but I’m not sure if even Glow can make you regrow a head after you throw it at someone like Zombie Belger does.

Guy with a gun - he only pulled that out at one part in the game to attempt to threaten Dr. Chang (a woman) in revealing the cure for Glow. It was a REALLY bad move by Capcom’s PR department to show that clip of Guy pulling out the gun since it really didn’t have to much to do with his character in the game and would just piss off old school Capcom fans. Much before that scene Guy is fighting and is not running around shooting people and is beating them up with Martial Arts alone(course this is prolly an AI thing that doesn’t allow Guy to pick up guns off the floor and fire but still). So for even Guy, using a gun is a last resort. He is packing though most likely…

I was looking for one of Guy’s students to be named Sho and all I found was Shu… rats… or should I say Glow Rats, lol!

Hmm, I wonder if Guy really was going to shoot Dr. Chang or if Guy and Haggar were just playing good/cop bad/cop. That’s a classic interegation technique, shown in movies and police dramas lots of times.

Yea, everyone is screaming about how Guy is ruined thanks to the gun and thanks to him being involved with the underworld but the game doesn’t depict it like the promotional materials do at all. Hooboy.

By the way, I found from my second playthrough that the name “____ Death” doesn’t mean that he’s a zombie revived from the dead, but I can’t go further into that because I’m pretty sure because it’ll spoil things for you ^^; Suffice to say, though, as Chang stated, “GLOW is like any other drug”. It’s a performance enhancer like steroids that’s addicting and leads to nasty stuff if you take too much of it (of course, the mutations you get from mass amounts of GLOW faaaaaaaar exceeds steroids). Nothing is ever mentioned about it having the power to ressurect from the dead. I’m reasonably certain (but don’t have 100% hard proof) that _____ never died in the first place but was instead “healed” using GLOW or whatever else have you and given so much that he became that mutant… thing (again, the “Death” in his name is meant to represent something else).

Heh, some people at Wikipedia are already submitting that Ghost is Joe. Of course, I wouldn’t be completely surprised if that were true, but there’s no hard evidence from what I can tell (especially with how Ghost’s style is Muy Thai).

Jessica was missing again in FFR, but was never found. It was alluded in Poison’s ending that (s)he was gonna do something to Jessica, as (s)he wanted to get with Cody, but it’s never been followed up on, I don’t think. I jst think it sucks how she’s been left in limbo, especially considerig how Haggar swore he never let anything happen to her. Oh, well.

I’m Tone over at Gamefaqs. I definitely think Sodom and Poison were in the game. There are unused dialogue bits in the file 'dialog.afs" that lead me to think so. Files 377 through 395 are of a male speaking in somewhat broken Japanese, and 751 through 772 are a female fighter, but its not Cammy.

Ah, I thought with the name Death he was revived, oh wells…

Vasili10 - Quicky question about the quotes, what does Mukuro saying Demitri has a Buddha’s heart mean? I’m finding it funny how “Holy” CFJ is making Demitri sound between this and his quote to Chun-Li.

EDIT: Great stuff on the map BTW. I liked reading about Shadowloo being involved in everything and the SF2 bosses having ‘houses’ within the base. Really cool.

I assume that the female fighter voice clips are not the same as the angry schoolgirls as well?

Heh, it’s awesome that they remembered Sodom’s broken Japanese (they remembered Guy’s bad English sorta. Well, he has a thick accent, at least).

…of course, that makes me all the more sad that Sodom doesn’t appear to actually be in the game.

Mukuro doesn’t say Demitri has a Buddha’s heart; quite the contrary, he confirms that Demitri’s the complete antithesis of one. Literally Mukuro says Demitri’s in no way associated with it, and in effect Demitri’s labeled as irredeemable by the Buddhist way of salvation.

Ok thanks!

Interestingly enough, “Street Dragon” (at least, I think the second word is “dragon”. Hard to read) appears to be the name of the movie in the poster in Fei Long’s SF2 Revival ending. In addition, that poster shows there are two other Chinese co-stars in addition to Fei Long, although one is bald so couldn’t be either Yun or Yang unless one of them shaved their head for the movie.

And… I just realized that Haggar having his mayoral elections in 1982 fits in more with Final Fight taking place in the retconned 1987 than in the “still the same date stated in FF games to this day” 1989. Swank.

Oh, and great translations, Vasili. Thanks! Vega/Balrog’s castle taking 100 years to finish is hilarious. And Shadaloo having a video rental area is adorable  …with all that stuff to it, I wish Shadaloo was more utilized than it could be in a fighting game.
