Sakura vs Ryu (mature sprite) - was in CFE, they bow to each other
Chun Li vs Yun (mature sprite) - was in CFE
Zangief vs Zangief (burns the fish, not Blanka)
Ingrid vs anyone - Sun Delta Super, then Hurricane Motion with Kick and finish the opponent off
then she magically changes into a St. Patricās Day-like costume (a green suit with a top hat).
I have read about it in a FAQ at GameFAQs.com, but I donāt remember what version of the game it was and couldnāt find it some days ago as I have searchedā¦
But I definetely have read it!
Thatās why I am asking you guys for help and info about that!!!
e.honda VS sodom
karin VS sakura (sakura must be CPU)
guy VS karin (karin must be CPU as mid boss)
ken VS ryu
r.mika VS zangief
ryu VS sagat
ryu VS sagat 2 (sagat must be CPU)
ryu VS sagat 3 (sagat must be CPU with X-ism)
sakura VS dan
Adon and Sagat throw a couple of punches and kicks at each
other, with lightning flashing each time they hit (just like
when you do an AC). Adon then lifts up an arm and laughs,
while Sagat frowns at him.
BISON vs. CAMMY
Bison beckons at Cammy to come at him with his glowing hand.
CODY vs. GUY
A stack of oil drums appears on both sides of the screen.
Cody appears and bashes the drums with his Criminal Upper, and
Guy bashes the drums near him with his Bushin Senpuu Kyaku.
Afterwards, Guy crouches down and picks up a piece of gum that
was in one of the drums (note that the word āGumā will appear
by Guyās name, similar to what happened when you picked up an
item in Final Fight).
DAN vs. SAGAT
Dan stands up and taunts, crying and yelling āOyaji!ā Sagat
chuckles in response.
DAN vs. BLANKA
Sort of like Blankaās normal intro., but when fruit comes out of
the back of the truck, Dan pops out as well and does a crouching
taunt. Blanka leaps out of the truck, and bounches atop Danās
head, dizzying him momentarily.
E.HONDA vs. SODOM
E. Honda and Sodom both do a traditional Sumo entrance pose.
GEN vs. AKUMA
Gen is standing on the opposite side of the screen. Akuma tries
to surprise Gen with a Shun Goku Satsu, but Gen counters it and
then tries his Zanāei, which Akuma similarily evades.
KARIN vs. SAKURA (CPU only)
Sakura rubs her forehead nervously while Karin drops down from a
helicopter onto the ground, crouching until the 'copter flies away.
GUY vs. KARIN (CPU mid-boss only)
Karin drops down from a helicopter as in the Karin vs. Sakura
introduction.
KEN vs. RYU
Ken is giving Ryu a noogie; Ryu responds by throwing Ken aside,
who lands on his feet on the other side of the screen. This
wonāt happen if youāre using Ryu vs. a CPU Ken (on Stage 9).
RYU vs. SAGAT
Sagatās scar glows and he grabs it while smiling.
RYU vs. SAGAT (CPU only)
Sagat is standing close to Ryu, holding Dan by the head. He
tosses him aside and jumps back, ready to fight.
RYU vs. SAGAT (CPU X-ism only)
When the round begins, Sagat is holding Dan by the head. You
hear the sound of an SC beginning, and Sagat knocks Dan into
the sky with a Tiger Uppercut, while heās being trailed by
shadows (a Dan-only SC? Heh, heh!)
SAKURA vs. DAN
Dan rolls on screen, taunting, but Sakura ignores him until he
stops.
ZANGIEF vs. R.MIKA
Spotlights shine down on both Zangief and Rainbow Mika as they
do their normal entrance poses.
For Ken with his objective being once a battle victory over his rival Ryu from old times, thatās quite separate from marriage with Eliza.
Ergo, Ken wanted in life to best Ryu until he met Eliza which then started his desire to be with her forever, he never saw the headband exchange battle as a true victory, he wavered from then until the end of SF2 on whether he should marry her or not, and afterwards he tied the knot, had a kid, gained a pupil and the rest is history.
sano: so you have that book? (and itās not the guide from Versus Books with Ryu, Gouki and Sakura on the cover, the same book that has a poster but you gave yours away to spread the fandom) The guide from Gamefan, right? Okay, any artwork we arenāt familiar with in there?
Following TSā suggestion I found a newsgroup message saying that guide doesnāt exist, strangely enough; also found the Codename Killer Bee post from 2001 but this time from someone in 2002 who referenced Saiki, found this while trying a search for Goukenās daughter info on alt.games.sf2. Thanks for the idea TS.
martinitolove: Asking again, whatās Karin vs. Karin supposed to be?
Isnāt that the same book? Isnāt that book from Gamefan? Isnāt āVersus Booksā the name Gamefan gave to all of their guides? Iāll go look at the one I have to make sure. At face value, I think that picture that you put up is an ad for the same exact book at best.
Majority of artwork appears in the All About Books.
Well, guess I was wrong. The Gamefan SFA2 book is one Iāve never seen before. The Versus Book I have is different. Canāt confirm itās existence myself.
Sāokay. I saw that one coming but didnāt want to believe I found another dead end on the net. Since itās claimed to be seen in Gamefan issues, it was most likely a dropped project, possibly succeeded by the guide from Versus Books which we both have. Ah well, Gamefanās SF3 guide was cool.
martinitolove, that Karin animation, as well as her laughing, can be with pretty much anyone; itās in the same group as vs. M. Bison when he charges in and knocks away a punching bag.
Birdie holding up his middle finger if you hold down the Roundhouse button after a victory works! Donāt tell Hilary Clintonā¦
Intros -
Ryu and Sagat both on Xism - Sagat uppercuts Dan away
On Aism - Sagatās scar glows
On Vism - Dan is by Sagatās feet like that drawing where Dan first appeared. Sagat throws Dan away and hops back ready to fight.
The rest -
The three Dolls vs. Vega(cape) - Nothing happens with Juni and Juli, only with Cammy.
E.Honda vs. Sodom - No.
Ryu vs. Ken - Yes.
Blanka vs. Ingrid - Yes(explained before).
Maki and Final Fight characters - Rolento and that is it.
Eagle vs. Birdie - No.
Karin vs. Karin - No.
Sakura vs. Deejay - Yes.
Ryu vs. SNH(Evil) Ryu - Yes.
SNH Ryu vs. Sagat - No.
SNH Ryu vs. Gouki(Akuma) - Yes.
Gouki vs. Gen - Yes.
Sagat vs. Dan - Yes.
Sagat vs. Adon - Yes.
Blanka vs. Dan - Yes.
Yun vs. Feilong - Yes. Brief sparring match.
Guile vs. Nash - No.
Zangief vs. R.Mika - Yes.
Sakura vs. Karin - Yes.
Cody vs. Guy - Yes.
Balrog(Ninja) vs. Zangief, E.Honda and Blanka - No.
Balrog(Ninja) vs. all of the women in this game - No. At first I thought his flower coming down and him slicing it was someting special, but he does this to guys too. He doesnāt throw the flower like he does in CVS2.
This is about the only one Iām kind of surprised about. Iāll check it on the Dreamcast, it might be versus mode only according to Kao Meguraās SFZ3 faq. I think I recall it (and definitely Ryu vs. Ken) doesnāt work against the CPU unless you lose the first time around and try again.
Edit: Try them in versus mode. From the DC, both Guile and Nash must be human controlled, and theyāll salute each other before the fight starts.
I canāt try the vs. mode out since I donāt know anyone else in real life who has this game, vs. mode here is Network where youād have to link up via Wi-Fi to another player. Iāll have to wait until one of my three real life PSP buddies picks it up. One of them is not getting it(no chance in HELL. GTA kid), another oneās a maybe, and the other one got Darkstalkers for the PSP like last week so I wouldnāt bet on him getting it anytime soon⦠The vs. Network mode has a lobby, other than randomly finding a game and hoping that the person I play either has Guile or Nash thereās not much I can do.
Since the game is a port and everything else is in tact I have no doubt in my mind that Nash vs. Guile (both human controlled) works.
Somewhat OT, but I thought the SF3 Gamefan guide was rubbish. It had some good stuff in it, but it was buried inbetween some of the most annoying, pretentious prose Iāve ever come across in a video game book. >:|
re: new charsā stories in MAx
Wow, Ingrid got shoehorned in there hard. Iām inclined to ignore it myself. Yunās was kinda funny. Makiās was okay (doesnāt really change anything - if we treat it as canon, then Guy and Maki have fought each other once already, and if we ignore the story, then they havenāt fought as yet), and Eagleās was just there. Makiās could easily have happened, Eagle might have met Guile in some fashion but itās also possible none of it happened, Yunās most likely didnāt happen at all, and the juryās still out on INgrid cause sheās just so far out there. Whose idea was it to turn INgrid into the Ino of Street Fighter?
sano: Ah, didnāt realize that all-important property of a portable system, oops. Well, when you find someone, Iām sure itāll work.
Ultima: For storyline purposes, Gamefanās guide is definitely crud, like most other non-Japanese sources. But its format tried to be like that of both AASF3 books. It in no way compares to the detail of Versus Booksā SFA2 guide, whose format mirrored that of a Gamest mook. Hence on a list of preference I place Gamefanās SF3 guide and others somewhere between the SFA and A2 guides on the high end, and Gameproās SSF2, SF2T, and especially SF2 guides on the low end.
And of course Japanese sources top the preference list anyday.
