FROM: ?

PERSONAL DATA:

HEIGHT: 5. OFT.
WEIGHT: 85 lbs.
BLOOD TYPE: ?

"Ingrid. A white haired beauty clad in mysterious aura. She is in a hurry… She has a problem that must be fixed fast. She is dashing towards ominous clouds covering the Earth. “I’ve got to get it back before something terrible happens!”

Note: Ingrid’s new win pose is of her Midnight Bliss transformation from CFE. She spins around and turns into that outfit, looks kind of funny lol!

Maki’s Three sizes and personal data are exactly the same as the GBA version. The wording on her bio is a little bit different from her GBA version but it’s more or less the same thing. PSP version -

“Maki… a modern Ninja and a master of the art of Bushin. She has traveled the world to find Guy, her fellow student. She must determine if she is the true succesor to Bushin style!”

Ditto for Yun and Eagle having the same Three Sizes and Personal Data. Wording on their intro is a little different from the GBA version like Maki’s. Eagle’s style is named too in the PSP version unlike the GBA version interestingly enough.

“Yun and Yang, Kung-Fu brothers from the streets of Hong Kong. One day the two heard a rumor about Hong Kong star Fei-Long. “He’s mixed up with some drug dealers!” If that’s true… They left the streets to find the truth about Fei-Long.”

“Eagle, a bouncer from England who is a master of Bojutsu. He craves to experience all of the fighting arts. His desire for the perfect duel has set his eyes on the world.”

Now to beat the game with Ingrid…

INGRID SPOILERS

Ingrid’s mid boss is Evil Ryu. She meets him in Akuma’s cave. Ryu starts talking about destruction, death and stuff, Ingrid asks him where he got such power. Evil Ryu then challenges Ingrid and says she has to teach him a lesson.

After she defeats Evil Ryu he stands up, and while his sprite with the black gi the head shot used of Ryu talking is him with a white headband, not evil. Ingrid beat Ryu out of his Evil-ness and reverted him back to normal. Ryu doesn’t know what’s going on and Ingrid tells him someone was controlling him. Ryu says that everything went dark after he met Bison. Ingrid says that Bison was a person she was told to look out for and he might have the object she was looking for. She bids Ryu farewell and good luck on his journey of knowledge and power. Ryu asks how exactly Ingrid knows her name and who is she, and their dialog ends on that note.

Note that this is a gist of it, the dialog goes real fast, much like in the arcade and console version of this game.

MORE INGRID SPOILERS*

Before M.Bison Ingrid fights Rose. Rose looks at Ingrid and tells her that she can not see her future, that she is a white haxe and asks who she is. Ingrid tells Rose that she has the power to see into the Time Stream, that she must stop M.Bison and tells Rose to wake up that he is evil. Rose says she must seal his powers for good, but Ingrid says his powers where stolen from Ingrid in the first place. So they fight.

After Ingrid defeats Rose she tells her that she will defeat M.Bison in 15 minutes and not to worry about it, that she can relax now. Rose asks Ingrid who she is again and Ingrid calls herself a messenger from the stars.

When she finds M.Bison, she says that name and that face, there’s no mistaken it. That she will seal him and that she wants her power back. M.Bison says something along the lines of beware my Psycho Power. Ingrid says something like, “Psycho wha… you’ve even given it a stupid name.” Lol! She then tells him how shameless he is using her stolen power against her and they fight.

Her ending coming up next once I beat it.

Wow, that’s… one way to cram Ingrid into the SF series, that’s for sure. Hmm.

Oh yea, were you able to find out if there are character-to-character specific win quotes? Or at least if Yun’s are the same? From what I get at Gamefaqs, his mid-boss battles were changed around which means he fights Fei Long now and nothing in his story indicates that he’s out of place even though he should be, so I’m wondering if the whole “time travel” aspect of his win quotes are still there at the very least (because they sure as heck were there in his GBA win quotes)

I’ve just been playing with Ingrid and all of her quotes seem generic. I’ll try out Yun tomorrow. Ingrid’s ending, MAJOR SPOILER ALERT -

Ingrid defeats M.Bison and tells him to give him her power back. No he says and he’ll never give up the Psycho Drive, she corrects him by telling him it’s not called Psycho Power for the billionth time, something to that effect. He flies away and Ingrid calls him stubborn. Rose shows up still asking who the Hell is that girl…

M.Bison is in the Psycho Drive and Ingrid stands before him. He tries to take her out with a Psycho Crusher (same drawing used for all endings). Next thing you know in that Psycho Drive Cylinder, Ingrid’s Goddess Symbol appears at the floor of the cylinder taking up the entire circular floor, this is a new drawing used to show this. Next, enter the same drawings of M.Bison blowing up again. Ingrid talks to Rose for a bit, Rose still wants to know who she is and Ingrid just says everything’s taken care of, don’t worry about it. Next you see the same animation of that big Thailand statue getting up, but what’s different this time is that the statue flies away into the sky as Ingrid takes it away. While the statue is flying away there’s another new drawing of Ingrid is flying with her legs crossed and is looking in a little book to see what’s next on her agenda. She says something like her next stop is 201X and she wonders what that “Monk Ryu” is up to at that time.

Heh, a look into Ryu’s future occupation?

201X, huh? I imagine that’s an optimistic estimate by Capcom of when the next Street Fighter game will come out. :looney:

They should just use Ingrid’s literal deus ex machina time travel ability to explain why Yun is there as well

Is there a way to rip sprites from that game? Also what about those secret Capcom Collection screens? Anybody?

Well, that certainly gave us a lot more information on Ingrid. It’s pretty safe to say that within CFJ’s storyline, she’s using the same power to get people together from the different worlds. And I like that hint for the next SF game… even though it’s much further off than I would like.

I’m actually quite anxious to play SFA3 again, but not quite as much as I am to play MMX and MM1 again…

Can I quote you for me and vasili10’s CFE faq?

MMX is out for the PSP here in the US. Don’t think I’ll be able to pick that up anytime soon, I still haven’t picked up MMX Collection…

I know next to nothing about sprite rips…

On a side note, it’s funny how Ingrid travels to 201X. That would still make Chun-Li the strongest woman in the world with Rose out of the picture, at least until 201X.

If any of her storyline happened, at all, I would guess -

-When Vega(M.Bison) gave into his Psycho Power and gave into his Evil Side, he tapped into some of Ingrid’s power.

  • Her fighting Evil Ryu - Probably doesn’t happen since Sagat is the one to snap him out of being brainwashed and not Ingrid. She might of at least met him given she knows who he is in her ending at least.

  • Her fight against Rose would be what I think most likely would of happened. Weither or not she won or lost she could still be on her way to face Vega.

  • Her fight with Vega - If this fight happened I’m leaning towards Vega winning this one so he could continue fighting everyone else, or she reached him too late, realized he was defeated already and time traveled to the future. Ingrid, really comes off as being a true Goddess in her dialog/quotes, a bit more than CFE where she seems more like she is a Goddess possessing a child of sorts. There’s still a hint that she is possessing someone like CFE indicates (especially her ending in CFE) with people saying things like, “How can you know this? You’re just a child?” something to that effect. I would think a fight between a true Goddess and whatever Vega is would favor the Goddess, ditto for Rose, but as powerful as SFZ3 Vega and Rose are is it’s tough to say. And at this point it’s all conjecture and next to impossible to figure out what is and isn’t canon from Ingrid’s story, oh well. I do think her Time Travel to 201X happened, or maybe I just want to believe that because it’s an extra snippet of what becomes of Ryu or at the very least tells us that he lives up until 2010…

I think it was a good idea to have Ingrid tie into Vega. If you’re going to have a Goddess, might as well tie her into Vega and the mystery/insanity that is Psycho Power.

Zangief has a win pose, I’m not sure if it’s new, from SFA3 Upper or if I just forgot about it. He takes a drink of some kind of liquir, a wrestler buddy of his that looks like him comes down from the top of the screen (like Rolento’s buddies) and hangs a big piece of meat in front of Zangief. He clenches his fists and breathes fire out of his mouth (looks exactly like Mech Zangief’s projectile in the Marvel games) and cooks the meat, accidentally roasting his upside down buddy too…

He has a wrestling buddy, now? In SFA3 for the Dreamcast, that ‘buddy’ is Blanka for some strange reason if I recall correctly (and of course, I never could figure out what Blanka had to do with Zangief, come to think about it)

I figure either Capcom of Japan doesn’t give crap about canon any more (it’s not like there isn’t tons of evidence to support that, after all) or that I guess if a reconciliation had to be considered, Ingrid got her power back after Bison blew up with Charlie because the power had to go somewhere. Of course, that wouldn’t explain why Bison still has it in SF2. …or how Bison would be able to body-switch if Psycho Power is tied to that (what with Ingrid possibly doing her own body-switching, but who knows with the ambiguity of all of that)

Maybe.

There are different types of monks after all.

He probably inherited Oro’s profession.

Ah, I saw Zangief’s win pose again, it is Blanka. It goes so fast and after he’s burned upside down he looks different, so I thought his burned self was some other guy.

As a side note in case you didn’t know, the ladder mode in this game for arcade mode has been adjusted. For example, in the home version of SFA3 in Arcade Mode it was impossible for Ryu to say, face off against T.Hawk because it wasn’t in his scenario. Now you can face off against anybody more or less. If you face Yun he’ll fight you in Fei-Long’s background. Maki will face you in Guy’s background. Haven’t faced Eagle or Ingrid in Arcade mode yet. I’m willing to bet Ingrid fights you in Italy. Don’t know which background Eagle will come from yet.

Here’s Yun’s story. I suspect that anyone still reading any of this knows this is all spoiler stuff if they don’t have the game yet so won’t be doing “spoiler alerts” anymore… note once again that the dialog goes real fast and this is the gist of everthing, I typed everything down right after I saw it.

Yun’s quotes are all generic. Didn’t spot anything that made it seem like he and Yang were time traveling.

Note that while you only control Yun, most people you run into act like both Yun and Yang are present. They have that super from CVS2 where they fight together, and they have an intro where Yun puts his arm in front of Yang, signaling him to back off so he could do all of the fighting.

His Mid Boss fight is with Deejay. Deejay asks what business ‘you boys’ (Yun and Yang) have with him. They ask if Deejay knows Fei-Long (in such a way that they assume that he does know him, like they’ve worked together before) and if so tell them where he is. Deejay asks them to fight with him first and says something like let the rhythm guide your feet.

After Yun wins, Deejay admits that Yun is strong and asks him why they are chasing Fei-Long. Yun says he heard a rumor that Fei-Long got mixed up with drug dealers. Deejay says no way, that Fei-Long is a nice guy and he wouldn’t get caught up with drug dealers. Deejay says he doesn’t know where Fei-Long is but he knows where he’s going, it’s to the place that all fighters are gathering and they (Yun/Yang) know where that is.

Yun fights Fei-Long before M.Bison. Yun ‘says so this is where you hang out and come to train.’ Fei-Long asks “What do you boys want? Let me guess, you’re from Shadowloo?” (spelled Shadowloo, the same way I always spell it heh heh) and Yun says that there’s no reason for him to answer a coward. Fei-Long says it’s all a misunderstanding and they fight.

After Yun wins he notices that Fei-Long has nothing in his hands (like drugs) and asks him how is he connected to Shadowloo’s drug trade. Fei-Long says he’s had nothing to do with it, he knows that people in his offices are dealing drugs though and he is looking for who is behind it. Yun says he can tell that Fei-Long is not lying by looking into his eyes (reminds me of Fei-Long/Cammy in SF2V, he said the same exact thing to her). Yun says that Hong Kong is their home and they must protect it, so Fei-Long says that he and Yun and Yang should team up.

No M.Bison yet! They face off against Balrog(Boxer), Juni and Juli. Fei-Long says that he’ll take on the boxer while Yun and Yang take on Juni and Juli. Yun wants to take on everyone himself, but Fei-Long says no, they should work together like they originally intended. Yun says that they’ll make Fei-Long even more famous after they win. So Fei-Long and Balrog run off to fight while you face Juni and Juli.

After you beat Juni and Juni you see Fei-Long lying at M.Bison’s(Cape) feet. Yun asks, “…Fei-Long!?” and M.Bison says that “It’s the perfect ending for a third rate actress.” Yes, actress, lol! He offers Yun and Yang to join Shadowloo to which they decline. M.Bison then says “I’ll have to ask you to leave… this world!” and that they will regret not joining Shadowloo. He picks up Fei-Long and throws him away as they begin to fight.

After you defeat M.Bison Yun and Fei-Long stand at either of his sides. They attack him at the same time and defeat him. Fei-Long thanks Yun and Yang and asks them if there’s anything he can do. Yun says he’s always wanted to star in a movie…

Some time later M.Bison reappears saying the Psycho Drive brung him back to live. Charlie is flying in his plane (like a few endings he appears in) and says that M.Bison is back, he must be a ghost and that he’s going to drop missiles on his base. Chun-Li responds from her communications room (like some of the endings she appears in) and tells him to wait because Yun and Yang are down there. M.Bison is standing in the Psycho Drive and Yun and Yang attack him with their tag team CVS2 Super Art. M.Bison blows up. There’s a drawing of Yun and Yang assuming cool poses. Next what appears to be Chinese Letters go in front of them as this entire scene was all part of their movie which has a title like “Street King 2: The Three Dragons” something like that, and the text reads that Yun and Yang’s movie has been completed.

Maki’s story tomorrow!

Believe it or not, fighting the new characters (even just in CPU form) outside of VS/World Tour/Survival was something I really missed from the home versions and thought should have been in there.

BTW, I got around to scanning some stuff from the AASFZ3 Book again (surprisingly hard to do without a scanner), can someone translate this? From the Rose section…if I had to guess, it’d be a general statement about the command normals in V-ISM (this isn’t especially storyline-related), but it wasn’t in anyone else’s section…

Edit: umm…I don’t think Ingrid really fits. She’s just an extra character that was thrown in, and so they had to give her a story. If you’re going to say certain things are canonical and some are not (which of course I’m against in the first place), I think you’d say that Ingrid’s story is a bonus and not part of the regular storyline. My 2 cents. Ditto Yun.

Thanks, Sano!

Yun’s is probably a bonus story. Even his ending, albeit perhaps just as a joke, perhaps not and the very end is true, says his entire storyline was just a movie. Of course, it only really makes sense if it’s the latter if the thing is considered remotely above a “com, pletely brush it aside” VS game storyline.

I wonder if the character specific win quotes are in VS mode only or something. Or if they were simply cut for the US version (which wouldn’t be surprising, given that the rest were). Yun’s character-to-character quotes in the GBA version made it VERY obvious that he was just a bonus character, as there are several people that he mentions his time and all sorts of “You look younger” and such like that in his quotes.

For Ingrid, much of her stuff doesn’t seem to fit in in general as if her storyline was just crammed in there hard either to try to force her to fit or because she isn’t canon anyways so Capcom didn’t care. Or a combination of both. While the latter might have caught me slightly off guard in the past, given that Capcom already allegedly told Udon that all games were their own reality, the “isn’t canon anyways” thing wouldn’t be surprising, these days.

Of course, it would be hilarity if come 201X, Street Fighter 4 had Ingrid in it…

Even anything else, I think the fact that Capcom is thinking about developing Ingrid and the “Monk Ryu” means they’re already planning the next SF game.

This is about the most optimistic news about SF4 in a while…and if SF2 for 360 and Alpha 3 MAX do well enough…who knows?

Indeed. I got that impression as well (it would have been a lot less eventful if Ingrid had instead referred to the years of SF2 or SF3, but instead she hints that something significant takes place at a time beyond that), although the fact that they set it in the year 201X means we have at LEAST four more years to go :open_mouth:
