Here’s some of the first set. It’s almost positively post-SF2 as half of them require that (Blanka, Dhalsim, Guile, Bison/Vega) while the other half seems to at least imply it.

Bison is wearing bandages which may indicate he’s been wounded and he looks kinda weary. A scientist is looking at readings, which seems to be psycho power readings based on Vasili’s translation.

2nd set is more iffy, as the only one which could indicate where it’s taking place is Guile’s and even that’s a bit fuzzy the way it’s portrayed and the translation of the text. Well, possibly E. Honda’s as well as “another fight begins”, but that one is also too open-ended to interpretation.

When was the winged skull for Shadaloo’s logo introduced? I myself saw it for the first time in Alpha 3 and don’t recall ever seeing or hearing about it before then, but of course I wasn’t paying as much attention to those sorts of details back then. The winged skull emblem is in Bison’s hat in the 2nd set of pics, but not in his hat (that the girl is wearing) in the first set.

I believe it was introduced when ‘Champion Edition’ came out.

Hard to say, he has it on most old SFIIWW art but at the time it was drawn CE could have been out already http://fightingstreet.com/folders/artworkfolder/artworkpics/sf_art/sfii_art/sfiiww_art/sfiiww_fbstageart/sfiifbs_vega.jpg
I think ingame he had a star on it like Kato.

To represent all of Shadoloo it started from SF2 Dash/SF2CE as Golden Dragon said. For Vega himself, or rather his hat, there were quite a few transitions:

WW art: blank red hat
Dash and Turbo art: some single star shots but mostly winged skull
Super & onwards art: winged skull

WW to Turbo game portraits: single star
Super and onwards portraits: winged skull

Vega’s actual game sprite gave him a blank hat until the Zero series began. The winged skull can also be thought to represent his namesake, Vega coming from the Arabic for the fallen vulture.

A couple of plot guide notes I didn’t see included with the latest update just in case they’ve been overlooked: Joe is 24 in SF1, and the dolls range in age from 10 to 20. Only Cammy is confirmed to be 15-16 in SFZ3 and 19 in SF2. Also Hoimei was named Fei in SF3 until 2I when Shaomei was introduced.

I just feel the need to add that the Blanka picture is the single greatest thing I’ve ever seen in my life.

They kind of have to. They’ve teased the audience for so long that it’s almost expected at this point.

Sort of like the Jill/Chris thing in RE.

SRK’s Search function is the worst of the whole web, it doesn’t even feature exact phrases.

I finally know what Bengus/CRMK is up to, thanks to a post from Udoneko a few days ago -

"Bengus is now on game development instead of being an artist. He is not in the same creative office as Kinu and the others anymore. I have to honor to meet with him in Japan 2 months ago when I visited Capcom of Japan.

The recent things that he told me he drew was some Onimusha 4 (or officially it is called New Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams) character designs.

Be reminded that UDON is translating the New Onimusha Manga published by Capcom in April! If this becomes a successful project, we will hopefully move onto getting other Capcom related mangas translated in the future, if licensing allows."

I wonder if Bengus’ involvement has anything to do with the SF2 costumes in the new Onimusha game -

Well I still wonder what the heck he looks like! Is he human? 100 years old? 8 arms? Did we ever clear up what CRMK means?

Lots of luck… Try PMing Udoneko I suppose…

Dang, Streetwise is out already? Time goes by fast. I need to get that game. I did hear that Haggar wasn’t mayor anymore (but can’t confirm) which at least ties into what we already know, though.

Think A3Max is out around now, too, but I don’t have a PSP. Oh well.

SFA3 Max came out yesterday, I pre-ordered my copy so I prolly won’t get it for a few days, it always seems to work out that way for me when pre-ordering.

Don’t think I’ll pick up Streetwise for a while. Broke, broke, broke until my next pay day.

Another quote from Ken Siu-Chong about SF having an official story - “…or why I decided to change some of the story elements from the official game story.” Source -

Blarg…

sano:

I don’t see anything in that article from Ken about SF having an official story. :expressionless:

“official game story” where the exact words. It’s the paragraph right above the sketch page of Chun-Li fending off young Yun and Yang. The first time I posted I left out the word “game,” sorry about that, fixed with an edit.

OT, a bit, but since we were talking about MM’s storyline here like 2 years ago, this page has some must read posts regarding MM’s storyline from MMMasterSTE.

EDIT: Just got my order of SFA3 for the PSP!

That official story quote is along the same lines as what he said in that Raw issue, which sadly isn’t anything new at least. Although it does confirm that the comic is NOT canon, not that WE needed to know that but I keep on hearing people proclaim it is :expressionless:

At any rate, they either didn’t talk with Capcom like Erik Ko did, didn’t pay much attention to that whole “Each game their separate universe” thing, heard what Erik heard but interpreted it a different way, or like me, don’t CARE what Capcom says and continue to see the Street Fighter storyline as one continuity instead of many completely separate alternate universes, because they keep on mentioning (including Erik Ko himself) things like “Rival Schools supposedly takes place within the Street Fighter universe” and “Had to make Yun younger because it’s during Alpha and not SF3” as if everything really is part of the same universe if loosely at the very least.

Which, of course, is really the way it was supposed to be all along (although I dunno about Rival Schools, obviously), but then Capcom had to apparently tell Erik Ko that stuff about the separate games thing…

 I know it’s nothing new and that it’s in the Raw, just find it funny how they can’t keep their “story” straight.

Sweet! …it’s in English, I hope? :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah, I had to pre-order it from Capcom USA to get the adhesive pad. I’ll put down Ingrid’s, Maki’s Eagle’s and Yun’s bios later today. I’ll try to describe some of the endings too.
