I understand what you mean, but with atsui modifying look in this case I just can’t see it meaning anything else.

Ah, actually, it does mean “hot observational look”, but in Japanese context i would say it means our equivalent of a “look with absolute concentration/sincerity”, not “hot” as in…urmm…lusty kind of look

After my major cleanup 7 years back, I only have those since 1998 in my room. Frankly, I don’t know where the rest of the books are. (I know where they are, but the ‘where’ is a storage area and I’m not gonna dig into it :p). So glancing I now have a few here starting 235, all over the shelves. And my local Kinokuniya stopped bringing them in a few years back…so I’m just a sad human now.
Right. I would totally agree with you except for their choice of words. They have plenty of other choices if they intended intent, sincerity, concentration; but they had to write “atsui” which slightly raises an eyebrow for me anyway, so that’s my take on it.

When you posted the info on the Wraith you wrote “her” and “she” but is it obvious through the Japanese description or did you just decide to use the female form because you already know it’s a woman?

You meant Black Widow perhaps? I knew she was female from other sources before. I don’t recall saying the Wraith being female, because AAC nails him down as male, and Black W. as female.
Is it possible that Atsui is a pun or something on how Zangief might have the hots for the president yet the player isn’t meant to know for sure? That combined with all the other evidence gathered would go along with Zangief being one of those “possibly gay with all sorts of gayness floating about but Capcom isn’t going straight out and saying it as a joke to mess with people” thing. Which would bring his SF2 ending up to a whole new level of comedy :laugh:
Hmm… but yea, I am still quite certain that at the very least that’s what it is.

I wonder about context, was Bison saying that he and Rose fighting was meaningless be because of his (implied) superiority? Or was it more plain? Seems odd. It’s like if the Ryu/Akuma quotes were like:
Ryu: "Let’s stop fighting, this is dumb."
Akuma: “Yeah, OK. This endless heart burns upside orange, engrish, etc.”
You’d think Capcom would be a bit more clich.

It’s usual for japanese to use Atsui in various sentences. It literally adds the “burning seriousness” to any phrase, making that action very…my goodness I can’t find any other word but “Roman”… someone slap me…

Not quite. The first part of his quote is more of a rhetoric “yes” to himself in his view, and since he believes the former to be true, he just says that she’ll suffer at his hands rather than painlessly expire. Kind of like:
“I am this, but if I was not, then it (death from defeat) wouldn’t be so hard on you.”

Here’s a crap load of scans and stuff I used in the Battle Poll. You see, this is the first year I participated in the SRK Battle Poll based on votes. My team consisted of Sagara Sanosuke, Ryu and Chun-Li of course! My strategy was basically vote for Ryu and Chun-Li and I’ll continue to put up mangas and scans of them. Hey I got Ryu and Chun-Li all the way to the finals! Sagara Sanosuke got taken down in the first round loosing to Gato of Mark of the Wolves ooh…

Ryu gives into the Satsui No Hadou for the first time ever since Masahiko Nakahara was the one that created SNH Ryu. Course even in his story Ryu gave into it during his match with Sagat but this is the first time SNH Ryu has been shown. This is from his SF Zero Manga.

Well… it seems to be a case where Gief might be gay for [strike]Gorbechoff[/strike] The President, but necessarily gay gay. I’ve seen it in anime before (most rcent examples I can think of are Card Captor Sakura and Steel Angel Kurumi) where you have a character who is gay for another one, and only that one. :\
re: FF bios
Hot damn. NOw those are the weights that the FF characters should be tipping the scales at. Are those accurate from CoJ? Cause nearly every official height/weight listing I’ve seen listed for Capcom characters from CoJ is hilariously wrong. Hugo is nearly 8 feet tall and should be weighing no less than 650 lbs, but they list him at 440. And he’s one of the better ones. Blanka and Zangief are hilariously light, as are Sagat and Honda.

Yeah as far as I can tell from the PM I got from Sirlin of Digital Eclipse, it seems like all of the information on Capcom Classics Collection including the Final Fight Bios was approved by Capcom of Japan. Not 100% sure though.
As you may already know Street Fighter 1 is going to be on Capcom Classics Collection for the PSP.
