Thanks, I’ll correct it immidiately!
Ah, so THAT’S what Damnd’s FBI connection was. Interesting.
Oh, and for Belger’s bio, I assume you meant to say that Belger was the head of the corporation, not Haggar Nice. Finally can get Abigail’s true measurements (previously had to go by the faulty ones from the US FF1 Instruction book. I knew he had to weigh more than that!)
Wow, I didn’t think Damnd was that smart. Does he always have colored fingernails or was that just in MFF? So how official are these pieces of info about the Mad Gear Gang now?
By the way I added the Mighty Final Fight art:
http://fightingstreet.com/folders/artworkfolder/artworkpages/ff_art_pages/mff_art_pages/mff_fullbodyart.html
Lot’s of clones.
Sano says that info is from Capcom Classics Collection. A few pages or so back in this thread, we discussed it and he actually e-mailed the translator. Apparently, the info comes froM Capcom of Japan itself and it SEEMS from the translator (although he isn’t sure) that they just yanked it right out of their archives, so it should be correct.
It does seem to fall in line with what we know (the exception being Roxy being a girl, but eh, guess we can’t get everything right). Damnd’s FBI connections, for example, were mentioned by Saiki long ago (and listed in the plotguide as “Exactly what these connections are is unknown”). Saiki ddin’t go into specifics about the connections so I added the latter parts, and… um, guess now we know what they are.
Cool. Does AAC say that Roxy is a guy? I forgot sorry. How’s the Plotguide update doing? I’ll upload FF2 art soon.
I dunno. Forget if Saiki ever cited a source for Roxy being a guy, as well.
Plotguide update is doing pretty good. Just updating it with new info as it comes along. I wonder if I should publish now or wait to see if Vasili can get some confirmation on that whole “Alpha is a tournament” thing from Eternal or the Rose Vega/Bison win quotes in CFJ. Oi, too bad translating from Japanese to English is really hard from what I hear.
Are Iron and Gale some new characters introduced in Mighty Final Fight as well like Serge and Tequila?
If you want to wait I should be ready in a few days.
Roxy’s not in AAC’s index, since s(he) only appeared in non-head-to-head titles.
DOH! I was more concerened with getting the hieght and weight stuff right lol! I fixed it with an edit thanks!
EDIT: Just to point out all though this might be redundant. Namco X Capcom’s story is that aspects of 6 Worlds have merged together due to damage to the space time continium and chaotic ripples between these worlds that allow people from different worlds to meet. There’s the Physical World, the Far Future World, the Fantasy World, the Makai, the Spirit World and the God World. Guy’s from the Physical World(Our Earth more or less) and Sho is from the Far Future World so that’s how they can hang out in that game.
This is really weird, Gale looks exactly like J and Iron looks a lot like Bred. I don’t think Poison is called “Poison Kiss” in any other game and Tequila looks just like El Gado. Also Serge looks a lot like Rolento with his scar and clothing but not exactly. Maybe it’s supposed to be “Sarge”?
And why is Belger a cyborg?
Just a quick question, is there any website or book that ever published any illustrations for Capcom Fighting All-Stars and Capcom Fighting Jam? Thanks.
Belger is a cyborg because I think Mighty Final Fight takes place after Final Fight. …I really need to go play that game or something.
Wow, so is Poison actually referred to as Poison Kiss there? I coulda sworn Poison Kiss came from SOMETHING Capcom-related but never could track it down
Strange about Iron and Gale and Tequila. Wonder if Capcom simply forgot their normal names or was just playing around or something. Aren’t Serge and Rolento both in the game though? And I think Red Sodom is Blue Sodom’s brother in that game but both are named Sodom, but I forget.
Not that I know of. Check the entire thread for a bunch of CFJ stuff I scanned a while back.
CFA Illustrations
I forgot where but there was a site with the Capcom Fighting All-Stars illustrations, the one of Haggar can be found here:
http://finalfight.free.fr/
Click on ART then the second pic in the second row.
What is the original title of “Street Fighter Alpha Generations”? I didn’t find anything called Street Fighter Zero Generations. Thanks.
About Damnd, does he always have colored fingernails?
It came out in America first, I think Street Fighter Alpha Genearations is the only title it’s going to have period.
The voice actors refer to it as SF Alpha Generations by name in their little interview thing, IIRC. So, yeah, I guess that’s it’s only title.
I did notice that on the Japanese audio track, Ryu calls Fuma or whatever that girl’s name is (I’m pretty sure Fuma is a World Heroes character, so that’s obviously the wrong name) “oujo san.” A term of respect for a sensei’s daughter?
Edit: yeah, that seems to be the meaning. Funny there was no mention of such a girl in between Ryu’s SF2-era background story and now, some 13 years later.
Her name is Fuka. Seems like there are different ways to interpret who she is since they don’t flat out say. She’s either -
- Gouken’s daughter
- Gouki’s daughter
- Some random Martial Artist’s Daughter that got killed.
And Ryu may be Gouki’s son in this one. The seiyuus themselves were confused about the whole thing. Now all we have to do is wait for the obligatory Director’s Interview where he says “What do you think? That’s for the viewer to decide.” like they ALWAYS do for example like when people ask anyone involved with Cowboy Bebop weither or not Spike died and many other instances…
Ok, finally ready with the next batch of stuff. Ready to laugh? Ready to cry? Ready to vent some more against Capcom USA? Let’s begin with the latest CFJ quote requests:
Rose to Vega
“…Again with problems…let us not become just that okay?..”
Vega to Rose
“This is likely more than meaningless hostility…with each other.”
Demitri to Chun Li
“Am I a servant of God having come to exist in eternal night?..If not then die sweetly.”
Chun Li to Demitri
“Your honored invitation even with courtesy I would only refuse. Even for nightlife amusements.”
Anakaris to Sakura
“In betting your life believe-elieve-elieve. To leave the wish you are unable-able-able.”
Sakura to Anakaris
“Haa…What’s with the excessive idol poetry? Put your hands together.”
Karin to Leo
“If that’s your full capacity as ruler, you strike yourself as extremely commodible coming here.”
Leo to Karin
“Being free here is good. The collapse of pulsating motion approaches…!”
Yun to Chun Li
“You aren’t short in fellowship but, whenever you fight your might increases…significant to worry about.”
Chun Li to Yun
“You know why you lost right? You always underrate opponents!..however frequently.”
Next the requested Super Muscle Bomber flyer tidbits. For these some kanji were a little blurry but I feel things connected pretty well for the most part:
Zalazof
Disliking showmanship, a genius strong style wrestler.
Colt
The CWA’s #1 quarreling case. Overdoing exciting fouls has made him lose over and over.
Budo
An extraordinary fight style but, move slices sharp, triumphs from severe fights.
Titan
A short-timed carrier, making full use of his large build, one silk top class enters.
Stinger
Conspicuous in living a useful life, a midair killing system is splendidly used from his characteristic race horse speed.
Haggar
How much entertainment cannot come out from before him, a beat-out fight is his distinctive characteristic.
Sheep
Having considerable confidence in his power. Boasts of the packing might in his body weight loaded moves.
Gomes
As a primitive man but his true ability is top class. A monkey Freak is a significant partner.
Kimara
From his fat build he sends out techniques of super might. He selflessly bullies the weak at the surface not hating it.
Astro
Leader of the BWA, having power opposite technique the fighting machine. Shows no mercy no matter which rival.
Wraith
With a ghastly appearance, the manner of his rough fight is to ensnare with all objects of fear.
Saber
On the battlefield he seeks out a life & death pro wrestling struggles. He dreads the greatest reversal.
Black W.
A full body costumed wrestler. Her movements are as flexible as a spider as she brings down foes.
Ortega
The legendary sovereign who left the ring for having been too strong. Now, the flame blazes once again.
Next, English Eternal says that Rolento and R. Mika entered the World Warrior tournament, SF2 I’m assuming is what they’re referring to. Here’s what Japanese Eternal says instead:
Rolento: in the paragraph above his story, it says he street fights, not entered a tournament. Later on in the same text block, the using weapons clause goes from using weapons in the fight or the struggle in Japanese to using weapons in the tournament in English.
R. Mika: English text says she entered the World Warrior tournament after seeing posted ads for it. Hoboy. This was taken from her original story text box which she’s saying, “I’ll tour the world in order to have my name be in open field bouts,” and she arranged for promotions to be set up, which makes more sense with the scene in her Zero 3 stage. In any case, the bouts of SFZ3 are open field and disorganized, rather than matches orderly and regulated for a sanctioned tournament aka SF1, SF2, SF3.
So yeah. Quite a bit of Capcom USA denial/ignorance/rewriting there.
And finally Zangief’s Dash account. BTW, I triplechecked “hot” and “squeezed” for any alternate interpretations, none able to be found, so this may well be Saiki’s Zangief’s gay clearance point.
Zangief from Gamest SF2D
Without Opponents in Russia
His name is Zangief. Having come around with a sudden sigh in the frozen land of Russia, a giant being with a body of steel.
As for him previously, he was a man called as far as rivalless in the Russian wrestling world. However, even with that knowledge being extremely foolish for each of the impossible comebacks with grapplers, at last, it already became that no one even challenged him to a fight.
Thus, as Zangief the lone emperor of Russian wrestling, parting from announcements of undefeated on the mat…as was expected that next day he rose from the parted mat. Violently from a flashy decorated ring, sobbing as if from tobacco smoke and the smell of liquor, that’s right, with him seeking opponents he launched himself into the realm of dark pro wrestling. Unnecessary for rules, dangerous weapons- in the case that they were snarled at in dark pro wrestling, 1 and 2 people to become human opponents was the extent and treaded upon. However, that expectation collapsed altogether. In the arms of the world recalling certain others gathered notorious in the world of pro wrestling, his covered maniac attacks had the others come to answer to him in 5 minutes. At about the time when wagers on Zangief’s fights died off, he was condemned to house arrest from the owner, with battle witnessing occasions of suffering walkers.
A Coordinated Wrestling King Born
That sort of time, with pro wrestlers flowing from America, his eyes became transfixed.
Apparently a waste to change, because the moves of American pro wrestling appearing flashy, by no means would those pro wrestlers’ body weight be doubly heavy due to gravity, thrown into opponents, wanting to deprive of trustworthy vitality. “This is it!” For Zangief, not forgetting himself as an overpowered fighting opponent, in the middle of continued specially regulated house arrest, it was at last that he completed himself a mixture of American pro wrestling and Russian wrestling fighting moves.
Dismissed from house arrest Zangief’s greatest comeback struggle, for spectators the eyes’ scene wouldn’t believe the success to be done. Immediately after the gong, the opponent numerous meters away felt to be in an instant sucked in amidst the arms and, together with the opponent whirled up 3 meters like a rising top, pulling down with all his body weight, the opponent was driven headfirst into the mat. The next moment the ring was smashed into miniscule pieces, for that severe earthquake, the spectators above made it rain chandelier rain and so forth with the fixtures no longer there.
“Screw pile driver! Gahahahaha.” Zangief loudly says as he laughs, the screaming owner leaving with a look of askance.
Zangief set out to dwell alone in a constructed cottage dug out of the rising snowy mountains.
“For people, it’s inevitable that they’ll immediately crush to death from my pursuit of knowledge!” If Russia’s surrounding rocky nature is the opponent, likely devoting going as far as consent with the pursuit of knowledge, and Zangief having thought it out, his screw pile driver started awakening brown bears in hibernation each day in succession.
And so to the World
In time the long winter gradually left, Russia’s ground briefly had spring visit it for a time, at Zangief’s dwelling’s snowy road at the foot of the mountain 1 limousine stopped. Furthermore from inside the car stepping cautiously on the lingering snow going to Zangief, nay not just anyone in the world he turn out of respect and a hot observational look, it is that he was a person in the public eye. He invited Zangief inside the vehicle, and so what with double dealing, triple word conversations crossed afterwards, Zangief’s implied scarred hand squeezed as he was questioned. “You’ll do it right, Comrade Mr. Zangief?” From the unexpected person, unexpectedly not having dreamed it in his head Zangief was falling back and puzzled, while the road having become activated finally he answered with a single word, “I’ll do it!” he said. That single word settled it.
From here he journeys into the world, wandering around fighting each place’s champions he journeyed out. The reason is naturally for the sake of carrying out the requested intentions of the unexpected person. But the contents of those intentions, are that person’s and Zangief’s privacy therefore outsiders would by no means speak of them.
Next time, Dhalsim and the end of the Dash pre-mook. Moving along soon to the New Challengers and their lengthy SSF2 stories, and always extras along the way. Thanks for reading minna-san.
Ooo, so you’re basically sure that both squeeze and hot were used in a lustful context? (Zangief has hots for the president? :xeye: “You dance very well” indeed. …now it almost makes me wonder if his SFZ2 ending had hearts over his head or something since that seems like it was basically this entry)
W00t, it’ll be nice to not have to go back on a statement that Saiki (and thus I to an extent) was so vehement about. And I get to say that he’s likely STILL gay and that’s not a forgotten fact thanks to Beautiful Young Women (which I’ve also been told can NOT be interpreted any other way) being added with SFA3 and not originally being there (and of course, it directly contradicts Udon’s ending which really rules that one out). Joy!
Hmm… but I suppose we’ve still yet to get an official DIRECT statement. But at the very least, I can now say with 100% certainty that Zangief is either gay, or he’s at the very least a joke on the gay stereotype by having lots of sledgehammeringly gay bits thrown around regarding him (which is the same case with Eagle, really. Course, Eagle’s are probably even MORE slede-hammer-ish but Zangief’s is still there).
Hmm… drat, didn’t really get any significant clues from Rose vs Vega, though, far as I can tell, although Vega to Rose is marginally intriguing…
That’s good to hear about the tournament being a mistranslation/addition, though.
Thanks, Vasili! This helps tons. Now I can get this update up and going soon
Pretty much I’m sure. “Hot” and “squeezed” are written there without any doubt, honestly I tried to see if they could be refuted for something else like the Fanbook material (friends or intimate) and the SFZ3 quote (like or alright with plus his less than perfect Japanese speaking skills) but still failed, so I believe it’s quite obvious that they’re quite a bit more ahem friendly than just chums towards each other. The hairy gay man stereotype is definitely present for Zangief.
Dou itashimashite.:bgrin:
Is there anywhere I can have a look at a a scan of that page? What is the Gamest book number? If by chance I have it i’ll just check it up. Or was it a Mook in which case I’m sure I don’t have it…
Thing is, in Japanese, a Direct translation of ‘hot’ doesn’t mean the same thing as the ‘hot’ we use…
