I wonder if Capcom of Japan made some easter egg references in them like CoA did for the American Slammasters, but in general, it seems like those sorts of references are more of a Capcom of America thing (nearly every easter egg reference in any win quote in any Capcom game so far has ended up being something that Capcom of America added. Sorry, don’t have it yet. It doesn’t seem to have any impact storyline wise on anything but itself, (even more than FF2).

In the plot guide’s sources section, HnN is a Gamest paperback rather than a mook. Also I didn’t see Chun Li’s proper name pronunciation added yet. Besides one of her prototypes named Chi Lei (the earliest one), her next one (once Ryu and Ken were decided to be returned for the SF2 roster) named her simply China Girl.

Oh yea, screenshots from the Alpha 3 website for PSP shows Maki having dialogue with Sakura. Given that Sakura is one of Maki’s mid-boss fights, this likely means that Maki, Eagle, and Yun will indeed have storylines added for them. Also, supposedly Yun gets his moves where Yang jumps in to aid him back, which would go along with how at least for his GBA storyline, Yang is supposed to be with him throughout the story. Not that his SFA3 storyline makes any sense anyhow, of course, but indications are that that’s on purpose :P. His mid-boss battle is against Evil Ryu, for crying out loud. Now THAT will be interesting to see what’s going on, there (assuming it’s still Evil Ryu for the PSP version, which it probably will be).
Chun rhymes with tune, you’ll hear it in any subbed SF anime. Li is just like Lee, Chung rhymes with rung, but make the g quite silent. It’s the way Chun Li is heard pronounced in SF dubs, the live movie, the USA series, etc.

Are the Alpha games labeled as tournaments in the Japanese version of ‘Eternal’?
Yea, maybe there was a mistranslation where R. Mika going off to wander the world was mistranslated as R. Mika going off to join a world warrior tournament. (ditto for Rolento and anyone else where it referred to Alpha as a tournament)
I took R.Mika being in the World Warrior Tournament to mean she was in the SF2 Tourney as in “SF2 the World Warrior,” the game’s old subtitle. Not that that makes any more sense… other than vasili10 (I think) establishing that the SF2 tourney had more than 16 combatants, blarg… I suppose ‘just because it’s stupid doesn’t mean it should be ignored’ is a double edged sword…
If I can get a list of other spots in English Eternal where Alpha games are called tournaments other than R. Mika’s bio, I’ll cross-check them against the Japanese text.
I don’t believe I ever said exactly how many participated in SF2, whether it was just the 16 and Gouki or even more. Believing invitations were sent would lean me more towards the 16 though.

Unlike Vega with his two or three chief subordinates working under him but they’re (Bison, Balrog, Sagat) still free to act on their own to an extent, Urien demands no leniency with anyone, he calls all the shots himself with no sharing of responsibility. Another way of looking at it:
Vega: Do what you want, but my orders come first.
Urien: You’re a mindless puppet that doesn’t move unless I make you move.
Vega will take loyalty as long as obedience follows it, Urien wants obedience period.
Nah, they’re definitely referring to her scenario in Alpha 3. Like you said, it wouldn’t make sense if they were referring to SF2. There’s no way they’d fuck up that badly and refer to a game she didn’t even appear in.
The Alpha games are labeled as tournaments in Rolento’s bio too.
While reading through Gill’s section of the Plot Guide I read that the author read through a book called “The Street Fighter 3 [New Generation] Bible”. Can anyone tell me if this book is available to buy outside of Japan?

Double checked Capcom Classics Collection and ideed the bio for Andore Jr. showed a picture aofred Andore. BTW his hieght in CCC was listed as 7’6 and his Weight was 622 lbs.
