FS.com? What was that again? (sorry, it’s been a long time since I’ve uploaded a new version of the guide to… well, anywhere. More than a year, it seems. …cripes, I’m old). Well… if I gave the okay for the previous version to be there, don’t see why I’d have a problem with the latest version being there or so.
Sorry, I hate to badger people, but does anyone have those pictures of Ibuki, Makoto and Elena, then? You know, the ones mentioned in the plot guide? I only ask since it was mentioned in the guide I thought one of you must’ve seen them.
Ah. Well, sure, be my guess, then. Although since I haven’t actually officially published this version yet, it’s still subject to a fwe more changes possibly (hoping for the Vega Rose quotes, but there are other things I’m wondering about too), just FYI ^^
Slight correction, Mami Itoh, the artist who drew the T.Hawk story your talking about in the Dolls section is female, not male like the Plot Guide is indicating by calling her ‘he.’ Just for a reference of Mami Itoh being female if you need it for accuracy, you can read this link for her latest work that I know of -
One pic is Elena & Ibuki eating lunch together in color. The other is a B&W one of Makoto walking with an ice cream bar. Several books have them, but both can be seen in the artbook Capcom Design Works.
Street Fighter Eternal Challenge is an artbook that has some of the most recent but minimal story/plotline contents to it. Like Tiamat said, it is available translated in English from Udon, but even that version is Capcom USA-ized so it’s still not a straight conversion for story purposes.
‘Eternal’ only says that Vega/Balrog took Cammy and escaped the Shadaloo base (Vega/Balrog’s ending). I don’t remember it being confirmed that Vega/Balrog dropped her off at Delta red headquarters. Perhaps Vega/Balrog watched over her for a brief period, but I think that’s the extent of it.
Would it be possible for someone to scan these images and email me or something? The only place I could find that sells Capcom Design Works only shipped to America. All other places were either “Indefinitely on hold” or had the “Early Days” variation.
Trust me, if it wasn’t for the fact that (a) I only want 2 pics and (b) I can’t find it to buy anyway, I would pay for it - I’m not in the habit of merely downloading everything, like a lot of people. I don’t even own my own PC (this is my housemates) and I have, for example, just spent $450 on anime DVDs that I could have downloaded and burned.
Anyway, sorry to keep going off topic.
Doesn’t Eternal also say that Shadaloo Cammy was on assignment to Britain when her memory was lost? (from what I recall from my re-read of the thread) That would generally seem to conflict with Vega/Balrog escaping the base with her, since I doubt she’d take any more assignments after THAT. I dunno whether or not Balrog/Vega delivered Cammy to Delta Red’s doorstep personally or if she just ended up there, but IMHO neither of those are that important for the most part anyways so long as it’s confirmed just that Balrog/Vega escaped with her.
Gee, I knew that Mami Ito was a she before. Wonder why I accidentally put ‘he’ instead. Ack!
Thanks, everyone! ^^

if you need any other pics, you can ask about them in the image mishmash forum.
Wow, Makoto looks skinny in that pic. Her sprite always made her look somewhat more muscular. Very cute, though. I like the little bandage or whatever on her cheek.
And great work on that plot guide. One of my favorite resources.
Btw Tiamat, you forgot to add Eagle’s birthday/birthdate to his profile. It’s December 31.

Yo vasili10, could you plz translate the blurbs beneath the characters’ portraits in these flyers (the text right underneath each characters’ height, weight, etc.) when you have tha time? Thanks.

Sure thing. Watch for them together with Zangief’s account and Tiamat’s CFJ request.
Thanks, GD. makes correction
I decided to toss in Captain Commando game just for posterity’s sake with a disclaimer that the plot guide doesn’t actually claim it’s canon so much as there in case anyone is curious (since… does it really MATTER if it’s canon or not right now?)
Not that Capcom hasn’t done far future games before (like how Megaman Legends is actually canon to the Megaman Universe according to I think All About Rockman from what I hear but in the waaaaay future). It’s just that… in this case, it doesn’t really make any difference
Thanks a lot.
Yeah, I wish she wasn’t wearing the XXXL gi in Third Strike. It’d be cool to play as her in regular clothes. It’d be a nice juxtaposition to see angry Makoto beating people up in her no-nonsense style, while looking all bishoujo in a school uniform. The bandage on the cheek would obviously hint at her tomboy-ish nature.
Since a disclaimer has been placed for the source saying Vega got a new body for SF2 and the tournament invitations being as yet not found, might as well place one for Hugo defeated by the shin shoryuken also. Haven’t seen that anywhere yet either. Saiki had told me he read it in either Gamest or Arcadia, but that’s as far as he’s said on that topic. As for Retsu being Gouken’s friend, working on that one as we speak.
About the note as to when FF coincided with SF’s universe, I still haven’t seen any Japanese source state Zangief and Haggar are rivals, so that relationship is at best implied due to similarities in their moves, as opposed to the more insignificant connection of Chris’ dog Sub knowing Shiro.
The accounts added in Gouki’s section of the guide are not yet from the All About books; those are still forthcoming. These found now are older shorter ones from another book SF2 Himitsu Hyakka that were shortly after rewritten and expanded to become the ones seen in the mooks and the AA books.
still for the SFZ Chun Li novel only:
Shao is Chun Li’s mother’s last name, her uncle seen in the pic training her is her mother’s brother. Chun Li takes her father’s last name in her novel bio Fuang, while Shao is in parentheses. Needs a little edit in the artworks referenced section, still says that’s Gen training her.
Zangief and Haggar being rivals was stated in both EGM and the SNES manual for SF2, but neither of those are Japanese sources (although EGM usually got those things right). It’s a stretch and asking a lot, but if you have the time and the access, you wouldn’t happen to know if Haggar or Biff Slamkovich in Slammasters had any Zangief-related quotes in the Japanese version, would you? ^^; Of course, Biff does in the US version, but the US version of Slammasters had TONS of things changed for it. I wonder if there could be any Haggar Zangief references in descriptions of the Spinning Clothesline for Zangief (there is in the US manual but that’s a US source) and of the Spinning Piledriver for Haggar in either Slammasters or Final Fight 3. But of course, both of those are asking for a lot and a stretch, too, I realize. Oi.
Ah well, until those could be checked and found, I’ll just edit it to say so far it’s Saiki and US sources only that say it, but it is at least quite likely there’s something there given that Zangief designed the spinning piledriver yet Haggar has it now as well etc etc. And Zangief was stated to be intrigued by American wrestling. Just need the direct quote…
Thanks, Vasili! I’ll get to adding those corrections
Thanx!
Sure EGM usually did well, but unless they stated info came from Japanese sources, like they did with Gouki and their first translation of his pre-fight speech after he shows up in SSF2X, being first an American magazine they had to coincide with Capcom USA unfortunately, no way around it.
By Slammasters/Muscle Bomber quotes, do you mean separate victory quotes or the messages each fighter gives when you beat the game with them? AAC has the latter for Super Muscle Bomber, but I’m not currently aware of any place that has the former. For FF3, if aerialgroove has any moves info in the books he has, he’s welcome to scan and pass’em along to me for deciphering.
There’s a third Capcom Fighting Jam guide book, not the one from Arcadia or the American one. It’s called -
CAPCOM FIGHTING JAM Official Complete Guide and it’s barcode reads 4-906582-48-6
I haven’t spotted this book on Ebay or Amazon. I had one google hit for it but the japanese site shut down and it wasn’t available for ordering. What I’m curious about is -
If it’s based on the console versions? Because if Gouki and Pyron have character to character quotes (in the Arcade version they just had quotes to others, like the Arcadia book we are referencing fot the faq) they might be in this book. Also curious if it has Shin Gouki and Pyron’s endings(though I doubt it would have endings for some reason). Does anyone have this book or could they point me in the direction of where to track it down? Thanks.
TiamatRoar - I think this maybe one of my mistakes too. In the Poison section right before it mentions her bio the faq reads “Capcom’s Classic Collection” where it should be “Capcom Classic Collection.” ARG, I feel like I’m being annoying.
