Warriors Fate: Street Fighter story thread, revived

Understood, but they’re still correct. Demitri points out that he sees Ryu as not fighting to win, but fighting to fight. Ryu sees fighting to fight as his own self-improvement, and bettering yourself doesn’t always have to be with a victory. That’s a thought which I’d see as quite foreign to Demitri, who being a vampire would never see himself as ever needing to improve, due to his pride of thinking of himself as an already perfect being.

Ryu just says he’ll fight to the very end, until his blood boils, until his strength drains, until he can’t move anymore, that sort of comparison; and I also can’t help but see him struggle quite a bit against Demitri in order to win a match against him, as he kind of stammers in his quote (breaks off his words a bit at points almost as if he’s taking a breather) whereas Demitri wouldn’t struggle very much to defeat Ryu if their universes collided and they fought each other.

Am I the only one that notes Chun-li’s account mentions “Fat thighs” for her?

Thinking that might need a little rephrasing. Since it’s describing her heel stomp, a victim would feel more like it’s a thick crushing pillar on the head. The same kanji is for both “thigh” and “femur” the actual thighbone within your leg, which is definitely huge for Chun Li. So slight edit to my notes above. Thanks for catching that Hcparker.

TiamatRoar:
Chung would be the best possibility for her last name. Red Cyclone’s webmaster has an analysis for all the last names she’s been given in Capcom related products, from Zang-live movie to Li-XvSF to Fuang-SFZ novel, and this is the only one from he’s noted as being from Capcom’s direct word, Chun Li’s account from the Dash pre-mook. So it would definitely qualify as a “forgotten” fact.

Hey Tiamat, u still updating ur Plot Guide? I got some stuff off AAC that I wanna talk to you about.

Theretically, I’m still updating it. In practice, I really need to get off my lazy butt and actually… well, update it ^^; But at least I’m archiving the stuff I need to update with. What’s up?

Me and vasili10’s CFE Bio/Quote translation faq version 1.3 is up!

SF Generations Anime comes out tomorrow, or it’s supposed to. Can’t wait to check it out and see if I like it or not…

Hi ! Long time no c!

Anyways I was just re-reading the current version of the plot guide, and I’d like to share with you the section on Ken having witnessed Gouken’s death. I’m clarifying the translation from AAC, where it is mentioned Ken and some youngling etc

Actually, this is how it reads, the tournament part is completetly not related to the sentence actually, so I’ll leave it out.

STZERO

(This incarnation is) His teenage years, where he and Ryu train together under Gouken, this is also the age where he witnessed the fight between Gouki and Gouken.

No mention of other ‘youngling’.

The subsequent sentence actually speaks of the ‘promise’ he makes with ryu on who shall be a famous fighter first, and has nothing to do with the whole witnessing thing.

 I’ll try to come up with more stuff.

Actually in AAC, they state that in SFZ3 Guy stage, she’s there with her old enemy Haggar and the rest of the Original Mad gear gang. I think she knows thats not Hugo.

Well Hugo was in Mad Gear too so it doesn’t make any difference.
Did they choose Goutetsu as Ryu’s master in the new SFZ anime? Gouki looks like a cat or a hamster, really weird. He also seems to be pure evil.

Will be able to answer today if all goes!

Rokiseph’s correct. I seriously don’t remember how I interpreted “osanai koro” as “young one,” but yeah Tiamat can completely eliminate that small paragraph in Gouki’s section of the guide. My bad minna san. Sorry about that. Vague sentence like I said before, and it strangely only referred to Ken himself. AAC truly says nothing about Ojou-san. Because she wasn’t originally “Gouken’s” daughter; she was Ryu’s master’s daughter before he was named Gouken.

No I won’t. I think it’s late.

But if your talking about that little old man in the trailer that’s not Goutetsu, that’s some random old guy as far as I know from what people have said about the flick. Goutetsu is prolly that guy who screams “GOUKI!” in the trailer.

Hmm. Seems like some places might have it, will have to check around.

Final Fight Streetwise is looking a lot better now, with cleaner graphics, hero got a shave, faster gameplay, more moves, etc. Still reserving judgement, though.

Looks like Haggar’s back. Cool beans. And Andore too

SFA Generations

The bad - Character Designs, Fight Scenes, CGI effects

The good - Story and characterizations. Music and seiyuus were pretty good too.

I’d give it a 6 out of 10.

They were pretty mysterious about who the old guy was, he was only reffered to as “Monk.” I think he was supposed to be Goutetsu’s teacher.

Do you actually get to see Goutetsu and Gouken in it? :open_mouth: And do they look remotely like they’re supposed to?

They are both in it but they in no way look like they are supposed to.

Their are a bunch of things that are… different from the canon, but I guess it’s too early to get into all of that…

Andore but not Hugo eh? And the confusion continues. Andore’s new hair dye job looks odd.

Kyle looks better and the game looks fun in the trailer. Hopefully it’ll turn out okay and it will have 2 player co-op.

A guy who looked like Haggar (and likely was him) was helping Kyle smash up some badguys in one scene, but it’s already been stated that there will be computer controlled NPCs who help you so sadly still unknown about 2 player co-op.

Weee. I can now say without guilt that I’m actually working on the latest version of the plot guide. I can also now say that my worst fears shall be realized as this will take an absolutely ludicrous long time! Ah well, my reformatting of the thing to include indexed contents that will allow you to control-f your way through the thing is helping out a lot with the updating, at least. …well, anyways, just to let everyone know that I haven’t quit updating it. Um… don’t expect it for a while still though. I’ve just spent 3 hours straight on it and barely made a dent in my list of archived things to update it with :open_mouth:

The fact that the guy’s energy bar was to one side of the screen does sorta hint that there is co-op.

Does anyone know how old Alex is? I’ve looked all over for it. :xeye:
