Warriors Fate: Street Fighter story thread, revived

That’s cool. I was wondering though what was this “SF info guide by slate” that he mentioned.

Also, go ahead and post up here GMST8 of the set you sent me for everyone to see. I wasn’t sure if the issue had it, but it does. Towards the bottom is the closest we may ever see of Ojou-san version 2: short hair like Vice’s and a white gi but no beads.

Back to finishing Guile…

Sure thing. Watching G4’s Tokyo Game Show coverage right now.

See now this is the ideal setup for G4.

Adam, Kevin and Morgan, ALONE as the hosts for ALL G4 tv shows.

Adam’s nuts and sarcastic, Morgan is the obligatory chick and the one that keeps Adam in line, and Kevin is the straight guy to both of them.

Yeah, I liked their E3 coverage too. Still a bit sad that they didn’t swing by SNKP’s booth though for both shows. Capcom got a lot of love at their TGS coverage, showed the SFZ Upper Trailer and Ingrid filled up the screen who they announced as an exclusive new character for the game. Okay, she’s not new but I was still in fanboy bliss due to the fact that we don’t get any Street Fighter commercials on TV…

Anyway, back to work. These are images I scanned from an old Gamest Magazine issue. This is character design artwork for SF3 Third Strike. There’s an early sketch of Makoto vasili10 was talking about that looks like Ojou-san.

And the rest of the images.

And here’s some random Chun-Li fan art I posted on another thread a few days ago. Some from the net, some from Arcadia.

And robot Felicia too!

Say anyone seen the ad in magazines for Capcom Classics Collection? They show a screenshot of Final Fight with Poison and Roxy. No, not Billy and Sid, Poison and Roxy! Will find out for sure very soon.

That’s an interesting move by Q with the coat. Wish they would have given Elena the staff.

http://www.grospixels.com/site/sf2goodies1.php
Has lot’s of SF2 goodies, on page two there is this weird handheld, I’ve never seen before. What is it? It has the same artwork as Typingfighter and many other semiofficial Capcom products such as the Pachinko game and the Taisen Net Gimick Maijong game. Does one of you know who made that art or where I could find a complete set of it? It looks a bit like the SFIIAM art.

Yes! Poison and Roxy are in Final Fight in Capcom Classics Collection! I guess with Hilary Clinton getting pissed off about Hot Coffee no one gives a crap if you beat up on two she males. Manly-ish screams in place too.

And when you wreck the car the guy says “OH MY GOD!” like he’s supposed to instead of “OH MY CAR!”

Capcom Classics Collection also comes with Manga Video’s trailer of SFA Generations too for more marketing strategy.

Now to finish playing Final Fight and try out as many games as I can from the disc before I fall asleep.

Actually Poison and Roxy, Sodom and Damnd were even in the US arcade machine of 1989, which I’m sure is the version found in Capcom Classics Collection; Billy and Sid, Katana and Thrasher were the edits for the SNES release.

Okay, ready for some stuff now. Some CFJ:

Demitri to Ryu

“You’re lacking something…that’s the tenacity against not swaying for a victory.”

Ryu to Demitri

“To the last drop. This blood, until it will boil!”

Book update, focus on SF3:

SF3NG Gamest mook: decent rough art section to complement those found in AASF3 The Characters and the NG Secret File, accounts mostly those repeated in AASF3 Fighting Bible with a few differences for Gill’s info, and the overall prologue story of New Generation which should be little trouble transitioning for Second Impact.

Gamest’s SF3 Fanbook: a SF3 Q & A section which covers NG characters as well as some SF2 and SFZ series stuff.

Dreamcast 3S Guidebook: tremendous analysis of the game, small story info on all characters.

3S giant Gamest double mook: this was provided with the PS2’s SF Anniversary Collection in Japan, many thanks to everyone who encouraged me to bid for this. It’s exactly like having 3S mooks 185 and 194 back to back, down to the exact same covers. Story info, exact same as the Guidebook and Capcom’s 3S website and in the art collection in Gamest posted by sano. Mook art collection similar to sano’s postings, mostly focused on Chun Li, Makoto (probable Ojou-san version 2 included), Q, Twelve, Remy and complete stage rough sketches not seen in the Gamest issue. Again tremendous game analysis, Capcom pretty much stopped story writing by this point.

Some extra notes:

Ryu’s SF2 stage was not named Suzaku Castle until Dash/Champion Edition confirmed by the Complete File. A manga story from the old anthology titled Comic Street Fighter II published by Bandai in 1991 referred to the place as Shoryukan Dojo, the Hall of the Rising Dragon Dojo.

Before 2I and the inclusion of Shaomei, Hoimei was designed as both Yun and Yang’s girlfriend, and her name originally was Fei. Verified in AAC and others.

I noticed that Chun Li wasn’t included in the plot guide under name pronunciations. Chun is the way the SSF2/X announcer says it, like “tune” in fortune but making the “u” like a “ew” sound.

A follow up from another of sano’s Gamest postings:

SFZ3 Ladies Bust Size Lineup (in cm)

R. Mika: 97
Rose: 96
Juli: 92
Chun Li & Juni: 84
Cammy & Karin: 83
Sakura: 80

This was in Gamest due to fan’s request, big shocker there.

And now Guile’s Dash story. Parts retconned due to SFZ3 except for those that can somehow be cut and pasted, but a historical and nostalgic note nevertheless.

Guile from Gamest SF2D

Death of a Comrade

At the time I came running, Nash was already at the state of death’s door. While I lifted Nash’s body, perhaps this becoming likely the end his words descended on my entire body and soul.
"I have a feeling on the man called Vega…he freely uses psycho power to…guuh…"
Those were the words left with me and my comrade died.
It doesn’t seem even now that Nash’s body was with innumerable scars wanting to remain. It seemed to be these merciless inflamed burns, central region wounds so to speak like seeing pictured sharp tools, an impossibility for confirmation of a dangerous weapon.
But, for me it was able to be realized. This was caused by a fist, moreover one that was likely shot out from a sufficiently hatred possessed man. This is perhaps what Nash on the verge of death left unsaid of the man Called Vega’s psycho power’s might probably. While seeing those scars rage flows out and seethes for me, to strike now on the existing figure called Vega. And so avenging Nash, I swear after my comrade’s corpse that I will surely display Vega hang.

A Foe the Emperor of Darkness

The single word called “Vega” having been a clue, it was unexpectedly quick how that man could arrive at such. With him being considerably distinctive in the back of the world searched to the extent of investigation, in that dark world mighty power is distinguished. With him to bring together a secret organization and the US the point of pride in a foolish world within, also being dominant of its force in the world it continues to wait hesitating to do something. Moreover Nash knew to go beyond and thus was extinguished.
I acted on comprehending the mystery of him. And so to a diligent end, finally it’s the reason for a move to have seized evidence of Nash’s murder. “This is it at last, my comrade’s foe has come out! I’ll send him to hell!” That’s how I believed that evidence was grasped at the time. But, I was sentimental. Justice of the States for me, and so too much power also confided as such.
It should be the hammer of judgment that he will hang, I would replace the thrasher in an instant. By Vega carried in court under my arms, the black to change into white and whatever such troubles were no longer there. For me regardless of the crimes, the twofold defeat was more damage accepted on my spirit.
I now recall, at the time of leaving the court Vega’s self-confidence filled his face. At that instant, my heart was decided, that he buries firsthand whoever’s hand borrows from his. His head within and the like is not too late for me to not realize. But, sometime surely Guile will thrust the final blow for repentance.
But Vega has one choice to merely scheme. That’s how he goes out to sponsor the martial arts tournament, his eye stays there. If he sees my strength, he will undoubtedly come out! However, that tournament’s kip in itself is as I thought the man’s necessity. There is no other way he would fight as the necessity of the approximate man he is…
Many days later, I put in order my journey preparation and journeyed out alone. I fastened my things to take, friends, troops, the States, and even also my loving wife and daughter I sent away.
Probably this journey has no benefit or likely loss. However already there’s no retrogression. It is for the reason of wanting my comrade’s foe that my struggle has thus begun.

Next time, Chun Li and Chun Li’s…well just keep checking back to find out.:bgrin: Thanks for reading minna-san! Long live the thread!

Ah, I never played Final Fight in the arcades, it just never reached my little area in Brooklyn back in the day. Played plenty of the Double Dragon games though. Until SF2 came along of course.

Cool. I’ll be updating the CFE faq soon, thanks again!

Poison is “female” and I think the names uncensored in the Sega CD version of Final Fight as well (right down to Haggar’s cursing being beeped out)

Hmm… I wonder if the Street Fighter Comic will make Noembelu the one connected to T. Hawk. She’s apparently going to be the next interrogated Doll in an arc that should theretically have more Thunder Hawk in it (Juli ironically continues to be left out despite how she’s the actual PLAYABLE Doll, hehehe). Of course, at this point in time, I wouldn’t be surprised if Udon was getting a lot of their info from the plot guide instead of from Capcom (I forget which points, but there already seemed to be some things in the comic taken from plot guide conjecture that we’ve yet to confirm is actually real. Or maybe I’m just seeing things because the comic emphasizes the Dolls a lot while Capcom certainly does not), making any remotely canon details in the comic very sketchy at best for obvious reasons (“It’s in the comic so it confirms what’s in the plot guide!” “Um, that’s because the plot guide is what they used for a lot of the comic” :P)

I hope they don’t make Zangief gay because of the Plot Guide.

They gave Zangief his hetero ending in CFJ, I wouldn’t loose sleep over it.

Unless they want to go for some ol’ Young Avengers controversy and put Eagle and Zangief in a relationship like Hulkling and Thunderstrike. Nah, Udon can’t handle the heat…

There’s also a Capcom Collections Game headed for the PSP. Games I know that will be there for sure are Strider 1, Sidearms and Final Fight as I saw in the preview included in PS2’s Capcom Collections game. Heard a rumor that SF1 will be included as well. But take it as rumor. Here’s hoping. I only played SF1 on Turbo Grafx and only versus mode.

Playing Capcom Classics Collection and there’s a ton of stuff you unlock when you meet certain requirements in the game. I unlocked all of the Final Fight bios and to my surprise, here’s Poison’s -

“Poison grew up in a Los Angeles orphanage. Even though Poison is a guy he chooses to wear women’s clothing. He, err, she even feels that fighting is the best way to stay in shape and mantain her looks.”

So there’s no denying Poison is a man once the masses get their hands on this. Roxy however -

“Roxy grew up in the same LA orphanage as Poison. She always looked up to Poison although she doesn’t really dig the cross-dressing thing.”

So Roxy might not be male anymore, so the masses can drool over her instead. :karate:

Andore Jr.'s bio -

“Andore Jr. grew up acting as a sparring partner for his pro wrestler older brother, giving him a good repertoire of wrestling moves. He’s still in training in hopes of one day surpassing his brother.”

The other Andores don’t have bios, but you can see all of their artwork in the game as another unlockable. It seems like Hugo is Andore Jr.'s brother.

Lastly, here’s Zangief’s Dislikes in his bio you unlock in SF2 - “Hadoken, Sonic Boom, Yoga Fire, Tiger Shot” Nothing about beautiful young women. Now my question is, are these his original dislikes in old versions of SF2 or is Capcom… really trying to remove any Gayness surrounding the 'Giefster?

Wow, some English confirmation that Poison’s a guy. That’s surprising :open_mouth:

And Zangief’s dislikes in the original SF2 were projectiles. I believe that list of those dislikes you stated there is every single projectile in the original SF2 (before the kikouken came out). Not that that really really proves anything, though :stuck_out_tongue:

Old SF2’s, pre SSF2 even, where they summarized it to hadouken & other projectiles. The beautiful young women dislike came about in Zero 3.

Also Golden Dragon, you had asked me if the Thailand prison scenario was canon for Guile and Nash. Didn’t see anything even after Guile’s Dash account read through. So I’m guessing it is/was only canon for Guile and Charlie (get it?). Both the Dash account and AAC however attest to Guile at one point putting Vega on trial for murdering Nash. Vega most likely used his special talents (psycho power) to get off scott-free, and that’s why Guile wants his head even more badly than Chun Li does. So badly that Guile abandons everyone and everything close to him, especially his own military for seeing their incompetance firsthand of what he calls the “justice of the States” in his Dash account, going off to personally wipe Vega from existence since that seems to be the only way to stop Vega now, in the tournament.
Now the question is, how much of this was retconned for the Zero series? I noticed that in Guile’s Alpha 3 ending he says that, following Chun Li’s words of encouragement, he says that he still believes Charlie is alive somewhere. In Zero 3 he doesn’t mention the word “alive”. He just says he’ll always believe in him. After this development, is it possible that Guile finds Nash’s body somewhere, a court episode takes place with Vega getting off the hook, one or both of these events happening of course before SSF2X Revival? What does everyone think?

One more “book” I forgot to add to the book update, partially because the seller pissed me off a tad with some false advertising. I won what he called a SSF2 Creation Materials Collection; what I got was essentially the Super Famicom SSF2 game manual scanned on around 60 printed pages. No rough sketches as he advertised and very little new story, but on the plus side, some slightly easier formats of the same things to read because they can sit flat on my desk while I’m reading and typing.
I showed Dash no Chris a while ago what I thought was a doujinshi from Nakahira-sensei called 80286. I’m now positive it was from him after looking at a major Nakahira Masahiko fan’s site. The doujin’s cover itself says Nakahiraworks Presents, so it’s definitely from him. The site also claims that he made another doujin called 01 which seemed to focus on Garou Densetsu/Fatal Fury and Samurai Spirits/Samurai Shodown.

Hey aerialgroove, anymore artbook stuff coming?

Yes more artbook stuff coming.

Tiamat, I think it does indeed prove the whole projectiles thing I mentioned but of course both our opinions are not changed by this.

Can we now say that Andore (Just Andore), who is Andore Jr’s brother and a pro wrestler and who’s manager is Poison and who wears a redish-pink outfit, is obviously Hugo from SFIII who is said to be from Final Fight and who looks exactly like Andore in his FFR art and in the SFZ2 and 3 stages?
Or do you assume that Poison knows 2 guys that look exactly the same (size, hair, chain, clothing), and are both pro wrestlers? I’ll give you a hint, the second one doesn’t make any sence.

My personal opinion is that the only reason Remy is French and Hugo is German is that Capcom wanted to make some character German and some character French but it doesn’t have anything to do with the actual character. I mean there is nothing French about Remy and nothing German about Hugo (since he is Andore) except for the “Eins, Zwei, Drei”-move and his stage. But that came after his character design which was done when FF1 was made.

Nothing about the Andore/Hugo makes sense! SF Eternal Challenge says Hugo was in Final Fight, Capcom Classics Collection doesn’t say that. Andore Jr. isn’t called a Pro Wrestler there, only ‘his brother’ who we know is a pro wrestler. The only evidence of Andore Jr. becoming a Pro wrestler is in Final Fight Revenge and we all doubt it’s canonininty, even with CCC calling Poison a man it makes FFR seem a lot iffier… BLARG…

Didn’t I put something in the plot guide about Hugo having a brother? I could have sworn I got it from old old mailing list archives (and that a Hugo faq in Gamefaqs mentions it) that Hugo had a brother, who would be Andore Jr. in this particular case. Lemme go check.

checks

Ah, here we go. From the plot guide, which I believe I got from Dash no Chris in a mailing list if I recall correctly

It states in his history that he left home at the young age (Probably
16), a home consisting of him and his mother, Father and his Two Sisters.
He was Firstborn, First Son too. So that means he had no brothers (Then).
And he left home and went straight to Pro-Wrestling. And lost his partner
through some scheme of his rival’s. This history is not something an
Andore. could have had for a variety of reasons (no brothers so he can’t be
Father/Uncle Andore and he can’t be Jr.'s brother, and it’s stated he went
straight to pro-wrestling with no mention of being in a gang).

…hmm, well this sucks :open_mouth:

Sano, I don’t get your post. You say EC says he was in Final Fight. So he was in Final Fight. What about it? It’s an evidence. Just because it was only posted in 2 books and not in a specific other book doesn’t mean it’s not official. Why would Andore in FFR be Andore Jr and not Andore? He would be Andore of course, if any of the family. But like I said, if they are not one person it would mean Poison is down with 2 guys that look, dress, move, fight exactly the same. Doesn’t make any sence. Hugo = Andore, makes lot’s of sence eventhough it has many mistakes. Look at how much they have in common. Capcom just overrid the story again like they do all the time.
Now eventhough that whole clone character thing doesn’t make any sence storylinewise and all FF clones don’t have a precise story, he could still have a father, an uncle and a little brother (after he left) who he met later and (sigh) became Mad Gear members. Yes I know but hey. He’s Andore. He was in Final Fight. Poison. You know. Eh.

Sakura art:

http://fightingstreet.com/pics/temp/sakura-repro2.gif This one is a bad scan, had to darken it, because the original print is silver on white.

My point is that none of it makes sense period. Heck, read your post, does that make a lot of sense?

But I’ll try to lay out what I mean. It’s still not make much sense. Meh.

SFEC says Hugo was in Final Fight.

CCC only talks about Andore Jr., he is the only Andore who has a bio. He is the pink Andore that looks just like Hugo we all know of. So in case there’s any confusion here I am… I dunno, some what sure Andore Jr. = Andore? Can’t look at the plot guide right now, I’m in the middle of other things.

He says he wants to be like his pro wrestler brother. Hugo is the only one canonly stated to be a pro wrestler. I’m almost 100% sure at this point that Final Fight Revenge is unofficial, not canon. Poison acting womanly(the images in her ‘kiss super’ really stretch things…) Cody being arrested for different reasons, Zombie Belger makes no sense, and All About Capcom’s comment about Poison: “Maybe Poison got a sex change?” which we all know was a joke about FFR not being official at this point. Andore is not a wrestler as far as I know. Could be wrong unless it’s in another source that is not FFR.

Hugo could be in Final Fight, sure. Let me stress like you said, if SF EC says he was in Final Fight, he was in Final Fight. None of the other Andores have bios in CCC. There’s 50 plus Andores that show up in the game, it doesn’t matter. I guess what messes the whole thing up is CCC not saying Andore Jr.'s brother is Hugo, or Andore’s full name is “Andore Hugo Jr.” or some crap, the entire thing is vague. At best the casual gamer is going to look at CCC and put 2 and 2 together and figure out that Hugo is Andore Jr.'s brother if they just go by that bio and Hugo’s story. And Poison hanging out with Andore and working with Hugo, isn’t that where the SF Plot Guide stands right now anyway?

Let me stress that this isn’t like the Noembulu thing. I really don’t care what Tiamatroar decides to make out of all of this… and as Tiamatroar posted above apparently Hugo doesn’t have brothers… huh?
