Corrections?
Yeah, but the corrections are typos, big mistakes like the book saying Akuma was in Tech Romancer, things of that nature. Udoneko asked us to E-Mail him all the errors we found so he could correct when the book came out back then, he was even nice enough to reply himself to us by E-Mail. The new book is hardcover with two alternate new covers and the paper is of higher quality. Iām pretty sure stuff Capcom of Japan got wrong in the first place like R.Mika competing in the SF Tourney and stuff like that will remain in place though.
New version of EC?!?!?! Damn, I didnāt even know about it. Itās on sale NOW???
Yeah Hero Fix has it. I spent 280 bucks getting both covers, the Shin Gouki bust and that SF Issue 14 Fan Comic thingy, oh well thatās what Credit Cards are for⦠the bookās not on sale in stores just yet.
Not sure of the proper Chinese pronunciation for it, but this 4-kanji phrase is the way āStreet Fighterā is written on a variety of Chinese Street Fighter products, including the many Hong Kong manga based on the game series.

Only the first two kanji are used to name the Hong Kong SFZ2 series manhwa, which mostly follows Capcomās storyline.
Bisonās true Z3 stage is the same casino, with a blue-violet carpet/floor, whatever.
I would say that Ryu battled Gouki before Ken. The kicker in the story is after Ryu learns that Gouken is dead, would he see and fight Ken, or would he immediately go after Gouki? In Z2 Ryu isnāt cocky towards Ken before their fight as A2ās dialogue leads you to believe. Ryuās troubled by his power and is almost afraid to let loose.
I remember reading somewhere on the net(I forgot where exactly) that Capcom considered adding Dan (along with Chun-Li) to the cast in āThird Strikeā, but eventually scrapped the idea. Has anyone else ever heard about this?
Yo vasili10, didjaā ever get that big-ass character relations poster/chart? I was curious, since u havenāt mentioned it in a while.
Iām curious as to the original Japanese dialogue of of those two endings. If you could post them (both his ending and Kenās) it would be easier to believe that he fought Gouki first.
It also makes more sense timeline wise for him to have fought Gouki AFTER he fights Ken as it ties into Z3 better. His itnro for Z3 states that the murderous intent inside him is still building (IIRC) which wouldnāt make a lot of sense if he just fought Ken. His fight with Ken seems to have been a calming and steading effect on his character. Where as post Gouki heās back to being unsure about himself again as a fighter though heās no longer as unfocused as he was.
On a sidenote, is someone here updating Wikipedia or ?? because it seems word for word what weāre saying.
Oh, shit! I think wikipedia is where I read that! It was a couple months ago when I first heard it, so it hasnāt been added recently.
I got it, what Iām planning to do after Iāve translated Goukiās SF2 info (which isnāt very much), is make a huge diagram combining that chart together with the ones in the Complete File and the Fanbook, to make it as comprehensive and historical as possible.
About Ryu fighting Ken and Gouki in Z2, Iāll try to sometime post the pertinent ending excerpts (Ryuās after he yells out āā¦Gouki!!!ā and Kenās after Ryuās defeated and before the scene switches to Ken and Eliza). For now my support is with AAC, which in Ryuās Z2 entry it lists first that Ryu learns about SnH from Gouki, and then he receives the red headband from Ken later on, as the plot guide also indicates.
Of course, this is part of the enormous dialogue collection I was hoping weād see from Ramah, so Iāll hold off for now.
Yeah the Wikipedia entries are surprisingly detailed and knowledgable. Especially Poisonās entry which describes her creation as first being a female then getting changed to a new half in response to a phone call from CoA and then CoA taking her out of the American version anyways.
Thanks guys. I just checked out Wikipedia for the first time. I see they agree with what I say about Roseās creation, her being formed when Vega(cape) tossed out the good energy out of his body. Nothing about a pregnant woman getting zapped.
Happy Birthday, Ryu and Akiman.
Both 41 today.
In the Muscle Bomber guide the only date I can see is 1980.
Hrm⦠I still think the storyline flows best if Ryu fought Gouki first. Because heād seek out Gouki before Ken after finding Gouken dead and then his uncertainty and shaken-up-ness from his ending after fighting Gouki flows well into Ken telling him that he doesnāt seem to be concentrating well and is unfocused etc in Kenās ending. Sure, his SFZ3 prologue states that heās still unsure etc, but it doesnāt say heās a complete wreck and he doesnāt seem to indicate as such throughout his SFZ3 storyline anyways. Just a little bit wavering, which is fine, methinks.
So thatās why his SF2 series endings mention that he āfinally made his dream of being number one come trueā. I believe that was his main motivation for participating in the SF2 tournament. The more I read about Vega and Balrog, the more I notice that their reasons for participating in the SF2 tournament had little(if anything) to do with their obligation to M. Bison/Shadaloo. Balrog(boxer) competed in the tournament for the aformentioned reason and Vega(claw) participated in it for the sake of competition and he saw it as an opportunity to defeat more āugliesā in battle. Heck, āEternal Challengeā even says that they(Either Balrog, Sagat, or Vega) wouldāve likely overthrown Bison(cape) if they had/got the chance.
aerialgroove: I guess that settles that 1990 in the prologue story (wherever that came from) mustāve been a typo or rewrite, made way for 1980 which every other source says. Thanks for letting me know on that.
TiamatRoar: Those are pretty much my thoughts as well. Iād feel Ryu would still have much more of a burden on him going into SFZ3 if he fought Ken before Gouki, whereas if he fights Gouki, then Ken, and finally Sakura all in SFZ2, heās mostly stable by the time he meets Rose, but always keeps Goukiās words on the back of his mind. Granted Ryu doesnāt reveal to Ken anything obvious about his meeting with Gouki in Kenās SFZ2 pre-final battle dialogue, he mentions Sagat was defeated by this fist of his, he tells Ken that he doesnāt know what heās aiming for anymore, as if he wants to quit fighting for good. After defeating Sagat Ryuās in turmoil with not knowing what happened to him, but after seeing Gouki he knows the truth which turns confusion and curiousity into anger and depression. Ken hears this negative speech and tries to snap him out of it with their age-old fights, which of course is successful.
On a side note this same type of scenario aforementioned happens in the SFZ Anime part 2 and also in the first half of Nakahira-senseiās SFZ manga.
More side notes:
From an interview with Eri-pyon, credited to Chun Liās Zero series look, she wears Adidas TRX sneakers. Sakuraās designerās comment remarks that Black Widow from SMB was one inspiration to create Sakuraās character. These are from Gamest Galās Island #4.
Ryuās master (nameless back then) raised Ryu, as told in the Complete File. But itās unknown how Ryu came to be with Gouken. Saiki said in the old Gamefaqs thread (thanks sano!) that the creators of the SFZ Anime held that it was his mother, while Ryu Final shows that it was Gouki. Did we ever come across proof that it was indeed his mother?
Anyways, Vega killed his master with the psycho crusher, from the Complete File as well.
Last thing for now: how did we come up with the name āLittle Missā? Again from the old Gamefaqs thread, Saiki called her Ojousan (from the Fanbook and what Iāve said from the beginning, well I say Ojou-san but you get the picture) or Young Miss which is more accurate.
I hear that in the new SFZ Anime coming out this year it will be Ryuās mother who hands off Ryu to Gouken and she will make an appearance. Take it as rumor though.
OT - Hey Golden Dragon, is there a chance youāll be able to attend the Digital Life Show in NY this year? Not much on sale last year but you get to play a lot of games for free and free liquir while paying 12 bucks for all three days. Prolly the closest Sano will ever get to attending E3ā¦
I have to disagree with both you and vas for the simple reason that youāre contradicting a very important already established rule of the SF story.
Everytime a powerful but seemingly less focused fighter fights someone who is more focused but less powerful, that fighter loses the match.
Look back at the all the fights we know happened:
Sagat loses to Adon.
Ryu loses to Ken.
Vega losing to either Chunli or Guile.
Ryu has to be focused and collected to effectively fight (and survive) a battle with Gouki otherwise Gouki will kill him. The only event that can happen to snap him out of his tailspin is fighting with Ken. Additionally as far as Goukenās murder goes, Kenās the one who has encountered Gouki and the one that can tell Ryu what happened.
That also explains why Ken doesnāt go with Ryu to confront Gouki in Z2 as heās off training again and thus is unaware of that confrontation.
Toss in Sakura losing a rematch to Karin in Thailand where Karinās post fight dalogue indicates she knows Sakura is still stronger and Roseās battle with Vega (who appears disinsterested) in Z2 and you have a pattern. If a figher isnāt focused he loses.
Ryuās comments to Ken seemingly support this as now he doesnāt know what to fight for between the death of the man who was his father and his experience against Sagat. Ken snaps him out of it by reminding him about the fight is all. Itās that focus that enables to fight and impress Gouki.
