Does this mean it’s official that Mike and M. Bison are not the same character and that “M.” does not necessarily stand for “Mike”?
It’s always been official that they’re not the same character, and “M.” always stood for “Mike”, the Fanbook’s been so far the only source bold enough to confirm that name for the “M.”. So two characters named Mike & Mike Bison respectively. However, in headings & text, he’s referred to as M. Bison, or just plain Bison, never Mike Bison.
HOLY SHIT FINAL FIGHT IS BACK!!!
That sound you hear is A LOT of patient and time consuming work on the plot guide being flushed down the toliet because now Cody, the guy addicted to fighting and who occupied a fairly unique place in gaming history…
Now has a brother who looks like a tool.
Thanks Capcom of America. Thanks a whole lot.
HOLY SHIT! HCPARKER IS BACK!!!
Sorry, couldn’t resist.
I’ve been lurking, re-reading the thread from the begining which is quite a challenge…
Random thoughts…
For the insane person, yes Capcom tacitully (sic?) encouraged Ryu and Chunli. They’ll never admit it but notice they ONLY stepped in when things became undeniable between the two.
Speaking of which I actually have all of the issues of the Malibu comic but none of Udon’s… strange how that is…
I’ve been playing Shenmue 2 currently, and I would recommend it A)Because it’s a great game and B)because it focuses a lot on different martial arts and their traditions. One of the four Wude, for example is named DAN appropiately enough. It means to be brave and stay calm to make the right decision, you decide if that is ironic or not…
Also the style used by Lan Di could be like Gen’s…
SF2TAM has one scene that still has me puzzled, it’s a conversation between Vega and his chief scientist, I’m not sure if it’s before or after they capture Ken, where they discuss the upcoming US election and gun control. I wonder what the hell that scene USED to be.
Virtually all of the links in the thread to pics or other articles are either dead or gone now. Especially those on FightingStreet. Maybe we should make a reference list or just compile the pics somewhere?
Does Maki dye her hair because I remember reading on a fansite somewhere she was considered ‘special’ because of her hair color?

In the Fan Sub(the good one released in the nineties, not the mediocre one circling now) they wanted to use Ken to assasinate American President Edward Pressman. They called it the PK plan (most likely stood for ‘President Killing Plan’ if I were to take a guess.)
Direct quote from the sub coming later…
Did anybody notice that from now on Cody’s second name is Traver?
I think it’s a good idea of Capcom USA to just invent new characters, like relatives and friends who become the new main characters, and don’t mess up the old characters’ story too much.
Yes, the attachments of the forum got deleted and I erased most of the temp files of FightingStreet because they were too large, but I’m working on uploading all official art bit by bit. Right now I’m ripping the Japanese SFII tv show.
A few months ago a guy had this game up on ebay and swore to me it’s real. Of course no nintendo seal. Not even a capcom logo.

I’m happy Capcom is making a new Final Fight game, but Cody randomly getting a new brother who now has to rescue him is a plot right out of a bad Gary Stu fanfic…
Not sure how well FF will do with the new gritty grand theft auto look either. It will probably turn off many old school FF fans and I dunno if it’ll attract any new ones when gritty GTA graphics are a dime a dozen these days.
Well, I’ll try to keep my hopes up at least. I guess for one thing it’ll give me new stuff for the plot guide as opposed to just trying to work out kinks with the old, but eeeeeh.
Wonder if Capcom of Japan is keeping a close eye on the Maximo team like they did with FFRevenge. …not that that stopped Zombie Belgar from coming into existance anyways, though
More E3 Goodies - Street Fighter Alpha 1 is coming to the PSP! So I can finally get Ryu Ken and Chun-Li portable looking arcade perfect!
re: Final Fight [strike]Revenge 2[/strike]
I agree with everything that HCparker said. I went and checked just to make sure that Cody didn’t have a brother (and he doesn’t, though of course several SFers do have siblings that don’t appear in the games). Not only is the siblig connection unnecessary, but he does indeed look like a tool. Bah…
So, are we going to strike this one off the canon list pre-emptively or what? Or do we just have to suck it up and accept it? >:|
Street Fighter Alpha 1? As in, the worst Alpha game of them all? WHY???
I don’t think it’s definately Alpha 1 cause that would just be stupid. I believe the article said a version of Alpha, so my guess would be another Alpha 3 (especially since it’s already out on the GBA).
Mohammed Ali
Yeah, why?
LOL, I think I’m the only one who prefers SFZ1 to SFZ2, but I usually lean towards smaller games. Anyway, should be Arcade Perfect since it is a small game. And in the end we can still get our Wi Fi battles on for now with some of our favs.
Well, Magic-Box is calling the PSP Game SFA4. IGN did say it was a version of SFA… conflicting info from two not so accurate websites much?
SFA4? I only saw Street Fighter Alpha on Magic-Box’s page; a typo of theirs which was recently fixed?
Yeah, looks like it was a typo they just fixed.
FFStreetwise: I imagine it’d be just as canon as Final Fight Revenge. Which means that you can sorta say that it might be canon because Capcom of Japan approved of everything. And gave it a lot less leeway than say, what Udon gets to do with the SF comic. Shitty as it was, Final Fight Revenge really WAS true to the Final Fight storyline, although CoJ seens to have ended up retconning some small details after it was made (but before it was released). It also means you don’t have to take it as gospel if you don’t really want to, though, since odds are Capcom of Japan will just try to dodge the issue entirely like they did with Final Fight Revenge (if they ever make another SF or FF related game themselves, which is admittingly quite doubtful)
LOL! Gamfaqs is calling the SF PSP Game SFA3. I suppose they’ll fix this mistake soon too.
As far as Final Fight Streetwise goes I don’t see what the big deal is with storyline. I don’t recall Capcom saying Cody was an only child. All it takes for that game to work storyline wise is Cody turned his life around, went back to the path of good (which he never really fell off anyway) and got captured by the enemy. Of course, if this game is yet another annoying in between game/prequel game there may be problems, but so long as it takes place after SFA3/FF3 there shouldn’t be any really huge problems. Cody may even still be a wanted man on the run, I don’t expect him to walk around with handcuffs and a jail suit forever. But then again, that would be kind of funny…
