Warriors Fate: Street Fighter story thread, revived

I have it; nice colorful mook. What would you like to know about it?

Well is there any rare art or just the usual official stuff?

It has six pages of rough sketches: a few character ones the same as in the PF and SPF2X secret files which you already have, and the rest unique to the mook. It also has roughs of each stage and notes of other background animations, and few flash combos I noticed. I really liked the book for its colorful zoomed-in shots detailing all of the flash combos in the game.

Snkneoshingo2k4 - Yeah, I saw the same listing at Gamefaqs! No problem, I’ll be sure to go through the list, prolly in small installments though.

Thanks for the review vasili10!

Sure thing aerialgroove. Hope that helped out your decision. :china:

I think I’ll buy it in the near future. I’m still waiting for my books, can take a month till I have them. Check out these graphic tablet drawings (note: PNG files):

Some of the Namco x Capcom characters I did before when I did the SFZ3 characters, so I’m just quoting my old list and editing. All of the below where the seiyuus in SFZ3, reprising their roles in NXC.

Ken, Guy - Tetsuwa Iwanaga. He was Kensuke Aida in Evangelion. Ken in SF EX, Ken and Guy in SF Zero 2 as well. Donovan and Ken in Super Puzzle Fighter.

Rose - Michiko Neya. Also Lisa Hawkeye in Full Metal Alchemist.

Gouki - Tomomichi Nishimura. He also did Gouki’s voice in the SFZ Anime plus Gouki and Shin Gouki’s voice in SVC Chaos. Vega(Cape)'s seiyuu. And he did Mike Bison’s (the boxer) voice in SF2V. He’s the narrator of Yu Yu Hakusho and he also provides the voice of Koenma’s servant in Yu Yu Hakusho.

Sakura - Yuko Sasamoto. She’s been Sakura in every game Sakura’s in, including the EX Games. Sakura’s voice actress has never been changed. Shader in Chrono Crusade. Ayako Isagi in Gate Keepers.

Karin - Miho Yamada. She was a young Tsubaki in the Inu Yasha Anime. Atosuryua in Crest of the Stars. Nike in the Appleseed Movie.

More later on.

This might be better directed to SRK veterans, but whom do you (everyone not just Ramah) think was the most responsible for the story there before everyone left? My initial guesses are Bengus and Akiman.

http://www.arcade-history.com/history_database.php?page=person&name=Akiman

http://www.arcade-history.com/history_database.php?page=person&name=Noritaka+Funamizu+(Poo)

I think Funamizu was the main guy myself, or at least oversaw and had final word on all of the storyline aspects. Akiman didn’t have much involvement in the SF Zero series, that was mostly Bengus and Bengus didn’t have much to do with the SF3 series, that was some Akiman, mostly Kinu, Shoei, and others. Funamizu was there for all of these games as general producer and was there from the beginning, SF1. Okamoto too but he’s an Executive Producer, they are usually far removed from things like storyline but have final say on things if it’s something they really don’t like.

If you read Funamizu interviews, he doesn’t like making sequels. There was one I posted here a while back, there’s one in SF Eternal where the general vibe he gives off is “But the players want another sequel, SIGH…” When Capcom USA asked him to make a sequel to SF1, he made Final Fight, LOL! Anyway, my guess is that the attitude of ‘throwing away most of the old cast and bringing in a new cast’ - SF1 to SF2, SF2 to SF3 - is his way of making sequels but not really, so that seems to be a big part of making SF what it is. And as you know the Zero series is a ‘filler series’ so anything goes there. Just my personal theory here.

After the storyline person for Darkstalkers left to Arika (what was his name, Ohno? I forget) Funamizu was able to carry the storyline without him for Vampire Savior, that leads me to believe he has mad storyline skills because Vampire Savior’s storyline is nothing short of brilliant.

Akira Nishitani who left for Arika might of been a main storyline person for SF2. Some parts of the SF EX Series seem like they keep more of the SF2 realism and less of the Anime SFZ/SF3 stuff. They even kept the ‘old Shadowloo soldier outfits’ with Cracker Jack, and Capcom with the SFZ series has gone with the more military look of the SF2 Animated Movie.

And I’m not sure if Ohno(if that’s his name) had anything to do with SF2, but my guestimate is that he was in charge of SF EX’s story.

On a side note, http://www.snk-capcom.com/ came back. Three cheers for the moderators not telling us what the Hell went on there.

Hey Sano, thanks for your seiyuu update.Since the game is only a week or two from its’ release,I got a question regarding a character who appeared in the official trailer.Who is the seiyuu behind Satsui no Hadou Ryu(Dark Hadou Ryu)?Is it the same as with Ryu?Keep up the great work compadre.Later.

I’m pretty sure it’s the same seiyuu, I’ve yet to hear anything about SNH Ryu and regular Ryu having different seiyuus. On the CVS2 soundtrack which collects all of the character’s speeches, they sound just about the same only Ryu’s voice has been altered to sound more evil, kind of like Riot of Blood’s Iori if I remember right. And on the CVS2 soundtrack they say the character’s name before they put all of their speeches. You know, “HADOUKEN! SHORYUKEN!” etc. For SNH Ryu an evil dark sounding voice says “RYU.” Same for Riot of Blood Iori, a dark sounding voice says “IORI.” But as you know, in the Japanese games they are still called Ryu and Iori as opposed to our ‘Evil Ryu’ and ‘Wild Iori’ as he’s been called before. In the All About books they put down Ryu’s full name when they list him, US SF Eternal went with calling him “Dark Ryu.”

Yikes, once again went off on a tangent, very talkative today…

Well thanks as always Sano.I’m surprised about the multiple seiyuu roles there are in NamcoXCapcom, especially since Gouki(Akuma)and Bison(the Shadowlaw fucker)have the same seiyuu.Well to be exact we’ve got two more weeks to go before this game is out,it will take sometime before we know who are all the characters and all the seiyuus who contributed to this game. All in all,a little bit more waiting to go.Thanks again compadre.Catch you later.

Real quick, here’s Saya, the other original Namco x Capcom character not covered last time.

Saya: AI ORIKASA - Female Berg Katse(Lady Galactor in the US) in Gatchaman '94(Battle of the Planets, G-Force in the US, Gatchaman '94 is the three episode OVA series released in 1994.) Dr. Sano :wow: :lovin: :hitit: in Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex. Quatre in Gundam Wing. Kuwabara’s sister Shizuru in Yu Yu Hakusho. Ryoko in all of the Tenchi Animes. Rockman in Rockman 8: the Metal Heroes(Known here as Megaman 8).

Thank you Sagatryu and sano for your storyline people info. I didn’t realize there were that many.

How about some SF1 stuff? Cap! #13 confirms that Mike and Joe are the fighters at the intros of SF2, SF2 Dash, and SF2 Dash Turbo.

From AAC, the Fanbook, and SF2 Complete File:
-Mike was once a Champion class boxer. Bison continually aspired to become champion but never did.
-Mike disappeared from the boxing world after killing an opponent. Bison permanently injured opponents but has only been known to have killed Kodal’s father.

Okay, is he Mike or Mike Bison(Balrog in the US) in that intro? Looks more like Mike.

EDIT: Hello, this is sano’s doctor. After hearing Joe and Mike were the guys in SF2’s intro sano has feinted and has entered a catatonic state. He will not post again for a long time, possibly 240 seconds.

Wow. All very interesting. The thing about Balrog only severely injuring his opponents rather than killing them sounds more familiar. I never heard that he actually killed an opponent until Saiki mentioned it. I remember my brother used to joke about SF1’s Joe and Mike being the guys fighting in the SF2 intro, but I never thought for a second that it could be tru. Thanks, vasili10.

He’s SF1’s Mike.

Great doctor’s statement, but can’t spell.

Sure thing Golden Dragon. :china: Thanks for passing along my next question to Ryo.

Next three Namco x Capcom characters:

Hideo: TETSUO MIZUTORI - Hideo in both RS games. Sanchesu in City Hunter.

Kyoko: MITSUISHI KOTONO - Misato from Evangelion. Gracia Hughes in Full Metal Alchemist. Shriranui Mai in the Fatal Fury Animes. Sailor Moon, Neo Queen Serinity and Chibi Chibi in Sailor Moon. Kage Houshi AKA Kagero in Flame of Recca. Urumi Kanzaki in GTO.

Lei Lei: MICHIKO NEYA - See below. :karate:
