Warriors Fate: Street Fighter story thread, revived

Hey you guys think that maybe somebody should put tiers together for specific SF games. For example according to storyline and opinion Sagat was probably the strongest person in SFI. But he wouldn’t be on the same strength level in Alpha 2 because he was dealing with the loss to Ryu which caused him to lose to Adon. It could also show at what points certain fighters surpassed others. Like is Guile in SFII weaker then Charlie was in Alpha 3. I would like to think that they were about equal but that’s just my opinion. Just something i was thinking about. Holla!!

You go against and you DIE!!!..Simple as that

Hey Sano, how is your NamcoXCapcom seiyuu project coming along?Ever since I told you about that little correction,I managed to find out about another character who is in the game that lends his voice for Naruto.I found out who is Gilgamesh, the character who’s seiyuu is the voice of Sabaku no Gaara(Gaara of the Desert)in Naruto. He is the knight in gold armor with horns who you see as the first male in the second character page in the official site. Can’t wait for the rest.Catch you later.

Hopefully the Capcom characters will be up this week or next.

Finally done with Bison’s account in the SF2 Dash pre-mook. Watch for it and lots of other findings later today.

Ok, delivering now…

Source acquisitions update:

SFZ3 Gamest Mook: nice mook for the arcade version of SFZ3; storyline-wise quite some Karin info, and not just manga-only stuff. Capcom seems to have accepted more from Nakahira-san than just Karin herself, including her father (yes Daigenjurou from Sakura Ganbaru!), and cited by earlier Gamest issues. More to come later.

SF3S Secret File: nice art, small pamphlet, very little storyline info. Although not canon, a reporter Anna interviews each of the five new faces in Third Strike, beginning with Remy and ending with Q. I’ll probably do those when I get to SF3 stuff simply because we’re starved for SF3 info anyway. Q seems to remark that he’s got a wife and kids, so…

Cap! set: may be considered heaven for Capcom/Rockman junkies, not nearly as much SF material as I had hoped for, and again not much story stuff. SF highlights include designer’s notes on Alex’s NG/2I ending, designer & planner interviews about the creation of Effie and the inclusion of Poison in SF3, a special report on Chun Li’s fighting attire, and of course the 12 dolls. The pic seen on Cammyfan.com (unless from another source which I doubt) was a clever edit job on a scan from the page in Cap! #8.

Club Capcom set: I thought I was going to receive all three of these issues but only the last two came in the package. Oh well, search continues. Possible storyline spots include a section called “Ask Ken!” and the other issue incidentally has “Ask Haggar!”, so we’ll see sometime if anything’s in those. One page that struck me introduced the SSF2 new faces and labeled Cammy in kanji as “Killer Bee,” and this was back in 1994. In these I found the Zangief “Gorbachev” notice seen in the site Red Cyclone. However, I saw that it’s part of a periodical/tabloid with a date June 66, and the magazine is within Club Capcom magazine itself.

With this in the light, I’m taking the following stand on publications that are fiction within fiction: they’re not necessarily canon unless confirmed elsewhere. This includes the tabloids found in Club Capcom, the front and back of the SF3NG Secret File w/ the Alex & Bison bout and Ibuki’s rescuing, etc., the majority of the SFZ3 Secret File content, and the notes around the character sketches in the 3S Secret File (darn it!). All these are periodicals within periodicals and either given a fake publishing date or outright expressed as fiction by the creators of the game universe (Capcom of course), or just notes stated as jokes. My reasoning is that just as generally real-world tabloids are not to be taken seriously, same for these to not be canon unless otherwise confirmed.

Still nothing more about her.  I haven’t thrown the towel yet, though, and I hope to someday deliver unless I get beaten to the punch.

And finally, Bison’s account from the SF2 Dash pre-mook. Enjoy and thanks for reading minna-san.

Bison from Gamest SF2D

The Period of a Three-String Brawling Childhood

He lived as the youngest child in a poor black family of the slum streets. As for the home more and more, living a life of eating and feeding everyday was the situation. Therefore from the beginning of his birth he wasn’t very welcomed, everything strongly established upon a cruel living. But, that great shadow already he strikes back toward his parents for self reliance. And also commuting to a small school to be on time, already with too big a mouth for standards the bad brat grew to adulthood.
A single day for him, said to begin with brawling and end with brawling is also not an exaggeration for a gloomy hardened heart. Supposing if he kept a journal, the majority of his sentences would likely say the word “brawl” buried with no mistake(although a person wouldn’t see letters of his writing). Bison didn’t stop in this way, dwelling in the slums made him see that humans aim toward perfect satisfaction of the entire body regardless of genders. As usual his circumstances with strangers frequently come out to be many driving grudges.
Such that also Bison’s heart after all was pulling toward this. Just those two fists made great sums in “boxing.” His povertous self held a dream that couldn’t be helped was a dream of wealthy living, merely the materialized possibility of several boxing matches would be to turn things around. Having known at that moment, it was that Bison’s life met a major turning point.

“To become the world’s best boxer.” This was the aim of Bison’s trial of life that began. But it can’t be distinguished for an abruptly become boxer how many bold front shows there are. Of course for him in formality a gym coach to receive money and the like would be what sometimes is not done, it is said that he also did not have friends in boxing. Spontaneous, his is a hardened self-taught boxing style. In short from the time of his youth he came around, “brawling” not being the striking contrast. However this is also to say his going into boxing from the captured result, also likely that he cannot torture everyone. Raised under a hardened environment he saw “using foot moves are wrong in brawling” and therefore was not seen with them. So it was the reason that in his boxing, it was decided that with such a form there shouldn’t be any rules. Once that was done, merely the full power to beat up opponents would be approximated to “brawling law.”

Shadow Boxer

And so time flowed by. The brown hooligan without hesitation rushed in body to almost 2 meters in growth, also his heart’s desire was resulting in the debut as a boxer. Unregulated also rough fists sharpened by phenomenal established powering-up, the use of that large build for dashing and together with the disbursing straight, the upper, the body’s rotating reverse punch power the big scale up made for the turn punch of enormous destructive power to boast of, it’s to be that he becomes the one of an existing equivalent fit damn it! But that strength inversely became harm. It is said that with him completely not knowing moderation, it was the corner of comeback impossibility for many boxers, finally bouts turned out to be rejected by everyone. Too late for him to be famous if he would become that story’s inside. However today’s stomach satisfies as well as distresses as he makes it, this is already for a boxer’s life the same as cutting it off.
Bison drifted unnoticed to Las Vegas. Having already saved not even 10 cents in his pocket he was already somewhat at the wrong place, finding one night holding a large extent of money confused in this street of the feeling of moneymaking fragrance that had to have come around. And so his splendid admiration came true.

Weekend evenings at that casino’s main hall, it is said that as a sideshow 2 fighters go off to battle. Naturally it is to be that these two names spread their chips to gamble. As for the gallery, either chips expectation pretends an estimated wager on the fighter, words of scolding incitements to meet from hidden bad loans. But no defeats to boast for the nights Bison comes out, the wagers’ many models change. From the first bout’s direction on going to the obvious for the night, the challenger side’s magnification also springs up 7 fold.
However today also for Bison, the challenger-betting people’s anticipations flourish in little pieces the crushing devil’s fists.

Next time Balrog, and final note for now, AAC confirms that Yun and Yang are Lee’s nephews, and Lee is their uncle. Laters.

MR. BURNS: “Vasili10. Excellent!”

Vasili10 - Any thoughts on what Guy to Rose means or what Rose to Ingrid means? Rose is very cryptic, LOL!

AAC does say that Lee is Yun and Yang’s uncle? Well that solves that finally.

And oh yeah, I’m really looking forward to the SF3 interviews, should be fun. :woot:

Thanks for the Mr. Burns impersonation sano. I agree that Rose well, speaks like a medium, and Guy isn’t always easy to get either. My attempted interpretations:

Guy to Rose

He seems to be quite adept at feeling the unnaturalness in beings, the SFZ3 battle with Gouki the stand-out in my mind. Guy feels something different after defeating Rose, something new coming out but of course doesn’t label it. Could be perhaps he senses Vega as the selectable game character or even something within Rose trying to come out (extrapolating from Rose’s SFZ3 ending), maybe the source of presence from new faces like Ingrid or the Warzard or Vampire Savior crews, can’t say. For lack of better phrases, Guy can sense “disturbances in the Force.”

Rose to Ingrid

This one I feel I have a better grasp. Rose points out that Ingrid posesses abilities even more incomprehensible than those humanly possible (soul/psycho power, satsui no hadou, etc.), and supposedly this highest form of energies is still with deficiencies because Rose defeats her. She almost says to Ingrid something like, “Now you achieved the ultimate and still lost, what’s there left now to try?”

Eh, I tried.

sano, which issues of Arcadia do you have? I’m trying to make a SF-specific issue list like one I had made for Gamest a while ago. Also which Gamest issue # has the Ryu Final chapter of Ryu defeating Hugo with the shin shoryuken? Thanks.

OK thanks for those explanations.

I’ll look through my magazines and let you know. Off memory, I don’t have some of the early Arcadias and I’m missing about a full year of Arcadias since the store I used to buy them in, Asahiya closed down and moved two blocks up without telling their English speaking audience so I didn’t realize where they were for one year. I think I’m missing around March 2003 - March 2004 or so. I still don’t have the new issue yet but the store I go to usually gets it a week later (comes on the last day of every month just about) so I should get it soon.

The Hugo vs. Ryu in Ryu Final Gamest Magazine I definitly have. I’ll have to look it up and get back to you.

Arcadia issues I have - No. 014, 017, 020, 027, 029, 030, 031, 032, 034, 047, 048, 049, 050, 051, 052, 053, 054, 055, 056, 057, 058, 059 and 060. The new one is 061, hope to have it by next week or so when Asahiya Bookstore gets it.

Gouki and the kid.

Thank you sir. And Ryu Final chapter 7 is in which Gamest? Also you wouldn’t happen to have any Gamest Gals Island books would you? The one with Sakura on the cover (holding her headband against a background of cherry blossoms) has some useful material. Anyone else know what I’m talking about and/or have this book?

Gamest Issue # 215 dated 2/28/1998 has Ryu Final chapter 7. The cover has the Capcom side of MVC1, including the MVC1 Capcom helpers. And no, don’t have any of the Gamest Gal Island Books.

Ok thanks again.

Hey, the Gamest Index page is back online! :woot:

Yeah, as you know I read Iggy’s reply about the interview, nothing we don’t know already.

I’m really excited about this game but for now I’m holding out to see if we hear something about a US release, so I’ll hold off for the time being. Most people are saying a US release seems doubtful but let’s see. There’s already interest over at Gamefaqs to translate most of the Game and I’m sure there will be Faqs that will help walk you through the game if you can’t read Japanese (like the one they have for the Rurouni Kenshin RPG Game) but stuff like that takes time, so I’ll wait a full year before importing if this game does not come to the US.

E3 is coming up. It would be great if they announced a US Release of Namco x Capcom at the show. But it may be too soon for that kind of announcement since the game comes out in Japan this month.

Rambling - I would prefer if the US release was subtitled and not dubbed, but I’ll take a dub if that’s all we get. I wish they would use the US Anime SF voice actors, that should be Okay since they kept most of the US VAs for all three Animes, some of them have really grown into character by the SF Alpha Anime which is the best dub. But don’t get me wrong, all of the SF Animes - Subs >>>>>> Dubs IMHO.

Anyway, when Erik Ko mentioned Capcom has a huge announcement for the San Diego Comic Convention (Good luck trying to go if you don’t have tickets. There’s a rival convention going on, all Hotels are booked, CURSES!) TAS said that it looks like Capcom is going to reveal Namco x Capcom at the show. Well, I love TAS like a brother but TAS is TAS, without going into detail… It’s possible he was taking a guestimate, it’s possible he heard something from his Beta Testing Roommates. Either scenario wouldn’t make anything concrete. Take this with a bucket of salt… or perhaps a dumptruck of salt.

More rambling - The Capcom Seiyuu list is going to have to hold off until next week. Updating my X-Men vs. SF Fan Fiction and shopping for Mother’s Day, ACK! To many Mothers in my life… Oh well, only one father and no living Grandparents, balance is achieved… I’m doing some preliminary work for me and Vasili10’s CFE quote translation Gamefaqs Faq, it’s the first Faq I’ve done (not sure if it’s Vasili10’s first Faq, but like I told him I want him to proofread everything since it’s mostly his translations and I’m just leeching off of him, LOL!) so we’ll see how that goes. Most of it will contain info already on this thread, hopefully it will be a good read.

A thousand thanks.

I thought you were talking about U.S. Bison for a second…I was like “damn, THAT’S new…”

Sweet, thanks for the translations.

2 cents:

  1. “Go for broke?” 2. "Damn, something weird is going on. (ie. Did you see the squid with the trident)
  1. Sorta speaks for itself 2. About being prepared and trained?
  1. Since this is SF3 Chun Li, she’s all chilled out now (relatively) 2. “You’re a psychic, you didn’t see this coming?”

My pleasure. Thank you TS for bringing up the act of rubbing Buddha statues for good fortune; I did not know that.

Balrog will have a fairly small account coming up compared to Bison’s, then Sagat and Vega will be quite bigger. Keep checking.
