The Street Fighter vs. Street Musician CD rules! It’s part part of SF’s 15th Anniversary along with the SF Tribute Album which preceded it that featurred remixes by famous DJs in Japan of the 12 original SF2 tracks. The SF vs. SFM Soundtrack was a contest Capcom held for people to remix their tracks and the soundtrack feautures all of the winners. It remixes the same SF2 songs plus the SF2 Intro. The intro has most remixes and some songs have two remixes. Hard for me to compare which is better, the SF Vocal Album or the SF vs. SF Musicians Album, I like them both the same as I listen to them a lot!
The best features on both are the songs with lyrics even if they’re kind of ‘engrishy.’ The Tribue album has lyrics to Ryu’s SF2 song and SF vs SM has lyrics to Zangief’s song.
Can’t see Guile either, but I didn’t see Chun-Li and played the game on Mame a million times so that don’t mean anything.
Thanks for the leg info Golden Dragon!
You’re welcome. :bgrin: Keep those questions coming after going through the guide (or even the thread if you’re gung-ho enough ), and keep watching as stuff continues to be posted quite often. Keep checking and you’ll keep learning.
After looking through my AAZ3 book some more, I checked the plot guide; I’m seriously leaning to the whole switching bodies thing to be a mistranslation. In Vega’s conversation with M.Bison in A3 before their fight, Bison mentions something that translates to “substitue body…” However, I’m thinking that, because he has more power than he can hold, he wants something to transfer power into as a weapon. Ryu powering the Psycho Drive in his ending, for example. Or maybe just have a slave like one of the Dolls, but extremely powerful- though I don’t think it’d be a good idea to have someone more powerful than himself around.
The Rose ending still confounds. If there is any body switching in A3, hers is the only ending where I think it could happen.
Wow, didn’t even know about this post. I made the site when I was 14 (I’m 20 now so it was a long time ago). A lot of the information was compiled by myself and a guy who used to be on the alt.games.sf2 forums with me during the golden SF days.
His name is Ryan McCarten (alias Black Dragon). I think a lot of it was based on conjectures from hints such as moves and fighting styles (I should have the emails somewhere). This is why Joe was linked to Guile for example. There is no manga on the SF1 story as far as I know. Sorry.
Mostly conjecture eh? That’s unfortunate. Awesome looking site, and I remember playing the PC version of SF1 many years ago. See if you can dig out those old emails mohammeda1i. Me curious with history, especially the Gouken waterfall scenario if there’s anything about that.
I may have extended bios on other characters that I didn’t put up (like Retsu), but I doubt it. I will have to check that in the old emails. Ryan has stopped writing as much, and is doing more MUGAN stuff now (I contacted him last year after being out of contact for almost half a decade).
The Ryu and Ken bio that talks about the waterfall was written by me. I recall reading that somewhere (perhaps in a website though I can’t be sure). It was all such a long time ago. I will have to do some searching and try remembering these things. Maybe it’s time I did the site up a little.
WOOO HOOOO !!! You have made my DAY!!! I LIKE ALOT !!!
That site is awsome !!! So guys looking at Genki I’ve realized he looks alot like the ninja Gen kills in the udon comic. I think it’s issue 10. He’s blue and has the same weapon. Well even if I’m wrong I’m still very happy about the site. Thank’s ALi!!!
Well I’m not going to say That Sf 3 dosen’t have a shallow story.
But Sf 3 hasn’t had it’s share of media. Compare to SF2 which had alot more time to develop. Like champion edition, super, turbo, Super turbo. It got to go on alot of different systems and have alot of manga, anime, and other crap based off it.
I’ve heard capcom basicly picks story ideas from these media.
Maybe there waiting for a good anime to come along so they could make it better. Like the sf 2 anime inspired alpha.
What’s that whole “waterfall scenario”? Are you talking about the Manga comic where the three Shadaloo bosses (no boxer) rush into Gouken’s dojo and start trouble?
The truth is, I can’t remember. It did cross my mind that I could have taken it from Tokuma Comics adaption, but I don’t think I did. I honestly can’t seem to recall, and a lot of sites I used to visit 7 years ago are obviously not there anymore. I will have a look aroung now on google.
In the Tokuma Shoten manga SF2 Ryu, Sagat and Ryu clash and Ryu falls over a cliff, splashing into water before returning to the dojo to see Gouken slaughtered. A few places online I’ve read, but nowhere officially confirmed, that Gouki & Gouken’s final battle had a waterfall scenario. I’m wondering if that scene was laid out from one of the Wani Books pocket novels. (Wani Books included also the Cammy History novels and the SFZ Chun Li novel)
Just checked Google and found a few sites that make this claim. Most I haven’t heard of before, but 1 that stood out was GameSpots Street Fighter History page (link below, though I don’t think it works well). http://www.gamespot.com/features/vgs/universal/sfhistory/
