To begin with the mask, at first it seemed the mask was for the sake of hiding his plain face, the fact with his sober face, little by little, it assumes a beautiful form.
Then speaking of why especially covering the beautiful face, it’s for the face to not breathe the regurgitating blood of ugly head-to-head fighting opponents. Balrog’s beauty, persistently facing the ego, he never flaunts at another person.
Next up is the claw, happening to have on hand and same rank as the mask. Filthy street fighters can be attacked by uneventfully immediate striking of their skin. Balrog assumes, exceedingly enduring it is for my fist to be dirty with the blood of ugly human beings. Also, a sharp claw providing for enemy gouging strategies, his brutal personality’s entire face is protruding out.
This being for the thoroughly fastidious nature, the appearance of Balrog’s mask and hooked claw to be formed. Seen that how he believes is with no concern for people, here is the world of the perfect ego fascination.
Incidentally, how does Balrog roll with the hooked claw? Assumed to be a part of the rising human doubts, with his excellent agile nature, an impossibility turns into a possibility at a superhuman pace.
For Yun and Yang’s stories in Eternal, both have the same phrase about Shanghai:
“originally raised in Shanghai by their grandfather who ran an herbalist shop…”
-the kanji combo for “herbalist shop” I have not been able to find in any dictionary; the two kanji by themselves read as “vegetable” and “house or hall,” so I would’ve said initially a produce store or greenhouse, but I give the translators the benefit of the doubt with that one.
Looking forward to the SFZ2/SFA2 anime, but in the meantime I’d still like to see that short episode mentioned in Capcom Illustrations.

I see what you mean, regarding the Gen/origin thing. Would the sentence be written differently (in japanese) if it said “They were raised together in Shanghai by their grandfather Gen, living in the elderly martial artist’s herbalist shop”? Like would you be able to tell the differences between a sentence that said “They were raised together in Shanghai by their grandfather Gen, living in the elderly martial artist’s herbalist shop”, and another that said “originally raised in Shanghai by their grandfather who ran an herbalist shop…” if they were both written in Japanese text? God, I hope that made sense.
When I translated Yun’s “SF World” bio, it also said that Y&Y were originally raised in Shanghai by their grandfather, who ran a ‘greens mansion’. I didn’t know what a ‘greens mansion’ was, so I put the japanese text for the word through Google Japan’s image search and kept getting pictures of food. From that, I guessed it was a restaurant. Guess I was wrong. My bad.

As for being able to tell the differences between sentences, it’s tough I admit. With this one it’s a matter of where the ? is placed. If I were to rearrange the phrase above to clearly say the “Yun’s grandfather Gen,” phrase it’d look something like this:
??? , with ??? being “Yun’s grandfather Gen.”
If you run ? through a Japanese translator you will almost always get “origin” or “foundation” back, because in reality the kanji in Japanese has readings pronounced “gan” or “moto;” The reading “gen” for it, by itself is for “yuan” or Chinese monetary units. Coupled with other kanji like “ki” which can mean “spirit” reads “genki” meaning “lively” or “healthy.”
Even with everything above null and void, the SF World line you provided is exactly the first line in Yun’s Eternal story box. The same clause is given in AASF3 for Yun and Yang’s family section under their profile, except where ? would be instead has in kana “mo-to.” Plus with the notion that strange Capcom wouldn’t likely wait until now to create such a SFZ-SF3 connection, and in Eternal’s character relation charts no tie is ever made between games, and in Capcom’s CFJ page Yun’s grandfather is not named although it resembles Gen in Yun’s ending, my suggestion, until TAS or someone can come up with employee confirmation, is to say for the plot guide that Gen probably isn’t Yun and Yang’s grandfather. Just my opinion.
Now I need some opinions from everyone. The giant 3S mook that came with the Japanese PS2 SF33S collection is up for bid at around $45 worth of yen. It combines both previous Third Strike Gamest mooks into one huge 300+ page-volume, and it’s the last sourcebook to my knowledge to secure. But for that price, should I go for it? Would you? It’ll knock out two birds with one stone, one less book to search for. Is it worth it? Auction ends in six days.

Can someone tell me what the deal is with SF3:NG, SF3:2I and SF3:3S? Why was the first two games, so… Capcom like? The backgrounds, most of the music, hoever the character select screen seemed rather rushed. 3rd strike on the other hand, seems like it was done by a different company almost, music was changed, voice actors changed around. Animation frames added, brand new Backgrounds, but what seems to be, far less background animation and action. Ibukis Tanuki seem to have dissappeared. I mean, just have a go and play one of the earlier two games, and then 3rd strike, it feels almost like a totally different game, not very Capcom like at all if you put them up against any older capcom fighter. I’m trying to think, does a human even appear in any of the 3s backgrounds? does a living creature appear? Alls I can recall is Ryu’s crow in the background. All other non-fighting characters run offscreen. Compare that to the earlier games in the series.
Was an interview ever done with the designers to explain why they chose to do this?
I thought it was because the new frames and stuff took too much space. 2nd Impact already had less movements in the background. And in Remy’s stage there are those punks by the way.
I got Eternal Challenge today (Japanese) what is that picture about where this gorilla guy is holding Chun-Li from behind?
I never saw these 4 SSFII character pics that are in EC. T. Hawk’s looks just like his usual SSFII image only drawn with a different pen, the other three look different.

The conventional wisdom among storyline buffs (or dorks, as they were back then), was that Lee was Yun and Yang’s father, and Gen was Lee’s father. Why? Because all Chinese people know each other. There was never any evidence of any of these things, but people play connect-the-dots with the SF storlyine, and a lot of stuff was just sort of made up.
Edit: also, some people figured Lee was Chun Li’s father (this is pre-SF3, mostly)
Those six pictures are from a Wani Books SFZ novel focusing on Chun Li; it’s also I believe where we learned about the “Gen teaching young Chun Li” pic (included in the six) isn’t Gen but another master whose name Golden Dragon gave us before, Shao I Fei.
