Uh-oh is right. Wow. Shit, this is gonna be one big fuckin’ update.
It doesn’t say anything about it being during a tourny so they are most likely refering to when Ken gave Ryu the red headband (the one time we KNOW Ken beat Ryu in a major fight). As this was before he got married, it fits.
I heard that Capcom was originally going to have Makoto as Ryus little sister. i.e. Her father was ill, the dojo was going down the pan so she goes to find her big brother for help. Capcom later decided to scrap that as it would open up too many questions. I think making him her brother an “untrained office-worker” instead was done to stop any links to Ryu.
Mohammed Ali
I suppose that fits, all be it a bit akwardly. For the sake of the Plot Guide, I suppose it’s OK to not change anything.
“Ken trained hard in order to decisively defeat his rival Ryu at least once. After that victory he finally married Eliza. In the era of Street Fighter III Ken is in love with his new family and is training a new student named Sean. At the same time, Eliza raise their new baby boy.”
As far as World Warrior Tourneys go, didn’t we state that more than 16 people actually entered the SF2 Tournament a while back? Oh, who are we kidding. This is current storyline Capcom of Japan people (can’t blame the translators) thinking SFZ3 replaces SF2. In regards to the Plot Guide those parts should be ignored.
Golden Dragon - Don’t beat yourself up over it man. Shoot, I’m corrected here all the time. At least you got to sleep yesterday, I’m working on three hours of sleep and lots of caffeine…
Finished typing up the differences between the English and Japanese Versions over at Madman’s Cafe. One guy was very eager once I announced I’d do this, so I typed it there first intending to type it here right after. I’ll retype it here tommorow, I seriously need sleep.
Here’s Rolento’s story from the 15th Anniversary book, thanks again for the scans aerialgroove:
After the fall of “Mad Gear,” Rolento returns to his ideal soldier’s nation, complete peace through the realization of the “ultimate defense” he desired. For that purpose street fights are again sought for the necessary companions, with the evil organization Shadoloo’s sinister achievements the greatest hindrance and judgment. With Rolento’s field of vision coming in about usurpation of military armaments and soldier wear, he proceeds toward an investigation of the Shadoloo base.
Next time, back to the HnN inquiries. Since the comics crowd lately seems to want Vega’s origins and your latest requests look towards that topic (both Vega’s even), Golden Dragon, I guess we’ll forgive your misinterpretations.
In case you wanted an extra take on this:
??? ???
Prior to the objective of victory in the fighting competition sponsored by the family head, every fighting style and head-to-head battle is said to begin with harsh training.
Also I should’ve commented on this earlier, but the plot guide does mention Makoto’s brother, which AAC and Jap. Eternal both refer to him as a salaryman.
Anyone checking out the LRG forums? I’ve broken the ice with Ojou-san there, summary and pic and all; here’s to hoping for good stuff in the upcoming Street Fighter Encyclopedia!!
I sent the errors I found (all from the History section, the story section can stay the same since they got it from Capcom of Japan IMHO.) to Studio Udon and recieved an E-Mail from Erik Ko himself thanking me, saying that it was good to talk to me outside of the Forum for once. Even though I talk to him all the time in the Comics Forum, I feel like a Rock Star now!
Eh… I dunno, sano. I’m not suggesting that Tiamat should completely redo the plot guide 'cuz of this, but those parts should atleast be mentioned in the plot guide. We can’t just ignore them 'cuz they’re in inconvenience to us. Like it or not, this shit is official info coming from CoJ.
Vasili10 - Question about the CFJ bios. How come only some of the characters have mini bios that list 1)Place of Birth 2)Age 3) Height, etc. Do the SF characters have them but you didn’t put them down because they are the same that we know of or did they just leave them out for all the SFers because it would mean they would have to include them for characters who have no info like this from SF3 as well?
Living Room Games had a Forum? Um… I don’t know squat about playing Dungeons & Dragons! Let me see if I can join up anyways.
I suppose it could be mentioned at least. Side by side comparison later today!
The SF characters in CFJ I assumed the numerical stats were exactly the same as everything else we’ve seen, but since I found a slight difference with Jedah so I guess I’ll double check the SF characters as well. For the crews from Warzard and the Vampire series including Pyron and Ingrid all info offered was posted, some just had more than others. I’ll note any different stats forthcoming.
I don’t know much about D&D either, plus LRG didn’t come out with that game BTW. I managed to find posts with people interested in the storyline and the plot guide, and I found a place in a “Did You Know That…” thread within the talks about Capcom World Tournament. I noticed someone posted “did you know that Gouken had a daughter?” and a few others seemed curious so I fed them some more stuff until another person said “just give us all you know,” so I gave them the summary and a link to her pic from the Fanbook, and I keep checking for any other inquiries.
Oh, I didn’t think that LRG made Dungeons & Dragons, just my jab at the Role Playing Game Crowd, LOL! Thanks for the CFJ inquiries again.
SF2: Guile, Zangief, Ryu, and Vega all have birthdays but no years, all stats according to SF2.
SF3: Urien has nothing extra, Alex has birthplace listed as New York and family as Tom (father’s friend) and Patricia (father’s friend’s daughter); Chun Li has a complete DOB and stats from SF2, weight still a secret; Yun has family as grandfather and :wow: birthplace as Shanghai, while all previous sources have said Hong Kong.
SFZ3: nothing different from Zero 3 stats.
A real translating thorn is the triple kanji combo for “place of birth” also is used for “native place”, which aren’t always the same thing. :bluu:
Wow, are they saying Gen is Yun and Yang’s Grandfather? Gen is in Yun’s ending so in CFJ land he’s still alive and kicking.
What?! Why didn’t u mention that earlier? If you take a look at the plot guide, it’s mentioned that Yun & Yang were originally from Shanghai and moved to Hong Kong. I’ve seen lot of different bios for Yun & Yang (including ones from american sources) that mention something about Shanghai. The point is that they lived in Shanghai at some point in time, but it isn’t clear exactly when. According to SF World, their grandfather ran a restaurant in Shanghai. Yun even mentions his grandfather in one of his SF3:NG win quotes. Whoever his grandfather is, he ain’t dead.
I forget, is Gen their Grandfather in the SF comic or do they just not state their blood relationship? Kind of like the comic didn’t say Lee was their father, just that he’s dead and Yun and Yang are growing up with out a father (Lee could still be their uncle or something in the comic. Chances are he’ll be their daddy when they get into it.)
It’s actually the other way around in the plot guide; AAC says nothing about Shanghai for them, so looking in Eternal, be back with explanation later.
I’ll smoke a blunt to that.
A test response.
Capcom World Tournament is the newest attempt at a successful Streetfighter RPG. The last being White Wolf’s Storyteller Game.
BTW Im the guy who asked about the daughter.
NO!! TEH MAREGEEWANA KEEL TEH BRANE SELS!! WE TEH KNEED JYUUR TEH SMARTZ!!!
Haiku Yamoto - Hey what’s up. The cover of the Capcom World Tournament Book is in US Version of Street Fighter Eternal.
…still waiting for both versions… :xeye:
Thank you very much for translating Rolent’s story box. By the way I’m sure that it’s supposed to be Rolent and not Rolento (SFZ2 says “Rolent” if you pick him) and coputer software usually translates Rolent to Rolento and Sagat to Sagatto. Anybody wanna throw in their opinion? Who is that Gomen guy you talked about in the Mel post?
