Warriors Fate: Street Fighter story thread, revived

Yeah, Mami Itoh has done a Manga Story at one point or another with almost everyone in CFJ. The only ones he missed as far as I know are Nool, Guy, Rose, Urien, Yun, Alex, Karin and of course Ingrid. It’s still 13 out of 21. I hope Capcom tracks him down and gets him to draw a CFJ Manga!

At the AM Show in Japan, Capcom said there will be no more characters in CFJ. So outside of unplayable bosses, looks like 21 is it.

On the plus side, due to the small cast, Midnight Blisses and Sabakis(Anakaris’ Transformation) are in the game, unlike Anakaris’ missing transformation in MVC2 where he turned everyone into the same doll! Special thanks to Iggy of Madman’s Cafe for describing the Midnight Bliss and Sabakis he’s seen so far!

Midnight Blisses

Guile - Wears a top in the the American Flag, has long hair, is sexy.
Ingrid - Heart, candy, looks like Athena in KOF 2003
Urien - Looks like Makoto with Urien’s "Clothes."
Rose - Like on a gondola in Venezia, has an oar.
Mukuro - A masked Kunoichi(Female Ninja)
Hauzer - Has Hauzer’s head, the body of a shoolgirl.

Sabakis

Hauzer - A steak with a flame around it.
Nool - Baby Octopus.
Ingrid - A very big baby.
Ryu - A cat tail coming out of his Duffle Bag.
Sakura - The Trophy she won in the “Sakura Ganbaru!” Manga.
Guile - A red Guile Doll with a huge nose.
Urien - An Olmec Statue’s head.
Darkstalkers and Warzard characters Sabakis and/or Blisses are the same.

Oh and vasili10 - They are making a Viewtiful Joe Anime slated for 52 Episodes coming soon. Perhaps the Cells you mentioned Capcom recently acquired are for that? The last time someone asked Manga Video about the SFZ2 Anime, they said this November, the same thing they said last year, LOL! I’m willing to wait on the SFZ2 Anime, so long as it comes out great.

Me too. Thanks for this info sano.

Anyway, about the Juli thing, her name is actually pronounced with a “Y” sound (yoolee), and on top of that she’s supposed to be German. It doesn’t make sense why T. Hawk would confuse her with whatshername, unless there’s some sort of translation error going on.

Um… confused about your confusion, LOL! If you think these transformations are strange, you need to play a lot more SVC Chaos and Vampire Savior… well, OK, no one needs to play a lot more SVC Chaos…

In Japan the X-Box is going to get Street Fighter Anniversary Collection just like us, HSF2AE and SF3TS in one package and Online! Meanwhile Japanese PS2 owners had to buy both games seperatly and have no Online Play, and they are the only people who had to buy both games seperatly, everyone else worldwide got it as a Collection on PS2! Ooooh…

Not much in this Month’s Arcadia regarding CFJ except for a 2 Page interview with the creators and a few Ingrid Pics. If you’re uncool like me and can’t get your PC to play any of the CFJ Movies, Ingrid retains her massive Oro-Like Fireball she was going to have in CFAS. And Ingrid already has a fan art drawing in Arcadia too. I’m sure people who were sending all that fan art of Ingrid when CFAS was supposed to come out are pleased she will ‘exist!’

I kinda see what he’s saying, sano. I don’t understand why/how Noembelu’s the doll T. Hawk is looking for. Besides the obvious proof, where is it stated that T. Hawk is supposed to be looking for Noembelu and that Noembelu is Julia? How’s that possible? All I remember is Saiki saying that Noembelu’s supposed to be the doll T. Hawk’s looking for? Where’d he hear that? If that’s the case, then why didn’t Capcom make Noembelu a playable character?

Oh, not that. To me his post sounded like he was ‘confused’ over Mukuro and Hauzer’s Midnight Blisses. Ah, once again I’ve steered this Thread off track… ah, it’s been a quiet week anyways.

But let me throw in my 2 cents. When translating Japanese or romanizing it, the letters L and R, J and Y are interchangable in some cases. It’s why in some cases in Fist of the North Star Kenshiro’s girlfriend Yuria is called Julia, even though Julia makes the most sense to me.

So even if it is pronounced “Yuli” in Japanese, it is probably meant to be “Juli” otherwise it would of been spelled differently.

Scroll to the bottom of the page and you’ll see a box titled “related people/person”. It describes the people that Oro’s connected to, storyline-wise. Could you tell me what the text says next to their names (Ryu and Gouki)? Thanks.

Not that I actually know anything, but if what Saiki says is true, then perhaps Capcom didn’t make Noembelu a playable character because Juli came first? They made Juli and Juni first, and T. Hawk didn’t come in as a playable character until the home ports of Alpha. By then, they would have had to make Noembelu a NEW playable character, but they didn’t care to do that (especially when there was Juni and Juli as Cammy clones already. Three would be overkill and Capcom was probably too lazy to make Noembelu a new different nonCammy clone-ish character) so they just slapped in Juli instead.

This does, of course, assume that what happens in game and what happens in canon are COMPLETELY different (IE, T. Hawk didn’t ‘mistake’ Juli for Noembelu, but instead, T. Hawk never met Juli at all. It’s just the game which is completely different from the canon). And while it’s true that official storyline and the games don’t always agree, a difference like this is admittingly quite ludicrous, and I don’t think there’s a difference between the games and official canon THIS big anywhere else in Street Fighter’s official canon.

So… I guess I’d like to know where Saiki heard that Juli was supposed to be Noembelu too, although I still think Saiki is probably right, since Juli not supposed to be Noembelu makes no sense either (what with her being, y’know, GERMAN and all)

Certainly it makes more sense that Noembelu’s supposed to be the one T. Hawk was searching for. It’s just that I’m just now realizing that Saiki never explained that to us. All he said was that Noembelu’s officially the doll T. Hawk was seeking. He never explained it.

Doesn’t it say something in SF Eternal regarding Juli and Noembulu? Someone told me (I think TiamatRoar. Not sure) that even though in the Flow Chart there was an Arrow connecting T.Hawk to the Dolls, there is a foot note about Noembulu regarding T.Hawk somewhere.

Ryu: The fighter that’s caught Oro’s eye. He’ll be retrained from the beginning and Oro looks forward to the day Ryu will be an opponent worthy of Oro fighting using both hands (since he normally uses only one).

Gouki: Ninth battle in 3S. Regarded as a greenhorn? (young’un?, whippersnapper?, well maybe if you look at their ages)

Doesn’t seem that Oro thinks much of Gouki according to SF World. I dunno, gotta see what Saiki says when he translates their dialogue.

Unfortunately in Eternal, the flowchart it has only includes playable characters and connections to other playable characters.
Hence the Dolls are limited to Juli, Juni, and Cammy in the same box/group; Juli has an arrow to T. Hawk, the caption saying same tribe I believe. I have yet to find any footnote or the like about Noembelu; if someone knows more about the allusion please share.

note on Yuli/Juli and similar names:

In Japanese, Juli, Juni, and Julia (Guile’s wife) are all pronounced with a “Yu” at the beginning. The only one actually pronounced “Ju” is the girl “Julia” T. Hawk holds in his ending (visually Juli but most likely Noembelu).

#14 from HnN is almost done, look for it later today.
Then moving on to aerialgroove’s, sano’s, and TS’s requests.

It probably was someone else. Since… I have no clue how I’d have been able to figure out what the Japanese kanji for Noembelu looks like (as opposed to all the playable characters, where I was able to figure out their kanji just by matching it up with their pictures in the book)

Ah, OK. Glad to know there is no ‘Thunder-footnote’ regarding Noembulu and T.Hawk one way or the other. And vasili10, as usual your hardwork is appreciated.

Noembelu obviously doesn’t have a kanji since it’s a foreign word (and I still think it looks weird in romaji, did anyone ever confirm that this IS actually some language’s word for November?). It’s listed in AAC and AASFZ3 in katakana. Search for a six letter word with a single diagonal stroke as the first letter.

NO-O-e-M(n)-BE-RU

Looks like you’re fully back Tiamat (I already thought you’re a Shadaloo monitor cyborg). I remember when I came here I asked you the same questions about Juli and Noembelu. Aren’t there any Japanese fan sites about the dolls that explain it all?

Latin is what AAC claims.

Here’s #14 from HnN:

Jimmy’s ridden airplane crashed and it was heard that he was alive but lost his mother, zero survivors and it was heard that it was probably impossible to be any. Means to live separated the situation from a piece of mind, but she didn’t want to fall from hope despite of given information. Merely discovering Jimmy within those passengers’ remains, moreover finding those footprints of the person in the jungle it is said. Already Samantha desperately would lack for giving up on Jimmy being there, that’s parental love after all. Surely the child is living somewhere! Such was the firm belief, she went on a journey to search for her son.
She arrived in the Amazon and from the jungle’s guide, she was a Jimmy’s trail how many days soon after but, as a street fighter journeying in various places around the world, already it is said and known that he isn’t in Brazil.
Where did that blockheaded beast man turn to? Discouraged she returned to her home in Thailand. After a long time she stepped onto village soil, her spirit escaping with every step, she hears a rumor about a man in a military uniform and a beast man fighting, thinking that place was where he went, an innocent appearance, his form completely changed, the sole clue being the leg ring (?) that she discovered. Now Samantha’s bitter journey of ever-changing panoramic running around, believing him to be originally her son she starts running. “Jimmy.” “Mother.” Thank goodness. Mmmhmm.

The second page of this response in the book has a small rough sketch (same type as Vega the pimp) of the tearful reunion that didn’t get into Eternal. One of the few pics I haven’t seen anywhere else. It definitely grabs me more than any of Blanka’s endings.

That’s a pretty crazy tale. So Jimmy/Blanka is originally from Thailand, huh? So, it turns out that Blanka and Guile fought during the SF2 tournament. Interesting. Finally, we’ve learned of a fight that officially took place during SF2. Still I’m a lil’ confused. Are they saying that Samantha approached Blanka during his fight w/ Blanka? Did she witness the fight?
Many many many thanks, vasili10.

No problem, Golden Dragon. :bgrin:

Dunno about the questions, but I interpret the rumor as being what she hears about two contenders who stand out amongst the crowd, because it doesn’t specifically say that Vega and Blanka fought each other. I’d want to say she didn’t witness any fight because as soon as she noticed the anklet she ran to him, and it sounds as if he immediately recognized her too. So from that, the only canon part of Blanka’s ending is the sobbing hug at the end; no post-fight dialogue as seen during gameplay.
