Warriors Fate: Street Fighter story thread, revived

Shadaloo is written in many different ways, we’re used to that. There is Shadaloo, Shadooloo, Shadowlaw and some other variations. That’s why I just say Shad.

It’s all stuff I stated before on this Thread not too long ago. Basically, in Anime, Manga, Japanese Video Games and Movies, someone splitting into two people and recombining is really common. It happened in one way or another in Dragon Ball Z, Darkstalkers, Gatchaman, X TV Anime, Dead or Alive live Action Trilogy, and the Ring Trilogy.

I doubt Rose was created by Vega’s good energy zapping a pregnant lady (that’s speculated in the plot guide, and it should prolly stay there so TiamatRoar doesn’t have to answer to angry American Rose fans…) If that were the case, you’d have to explain Vega tracking down this baby and training it when it’s much easier if Rose just seperated for him to train her, and he did train her.

Like I’ve said before sano, I totally agree w/ you on this one. I think your theory is how it happened, most likely. The idea of M. Bison’s positive energy/good side zapping into a random pregnant lady is kinda’ ridiculous. M. Bison was probably in Italy when he split into 2 people, which is why Rose’s official birthplace is Italy.

There probably was no SF character from Italy yet, which is probably why Capcom made Rose Italian which is probably why Capcom made Hugo German and Remy French cause they couldn’t look less like their Nationality.

Question. What caste are Dhalsim, Sally and Lilly from? Can you see if from their look?

Tough question, but from initial appearances, Sally and Lilly are definitely easier to label than Dhalsim:

Lilly: probably a Sudra (servant or laborer)

Sally: probably a Sudra at birth, now most likely a pariah (outcaste).

Dhalsim: he’s tough because of many varying qualities he has. Due to his poverty he might be a Sudra, for the fact that he is or was an (unorthodox) warrior, he could be classified as a Kshatriya (ruler or warrior, or if he’s considered an authority in spirituality as he is often depicted he could be a Brahman (priest or scholar). Most likely though he is a pariah because he practices Buddhism which totally discourages India’s
caste system by promoting universal brotherhood.

He practices Buddhism?

I didn’t know that either, though I guess it’s a possibility. Isn’t he Hindu? Then again, I don’t know anything about foreign religions. Buddhism is a popular religion in India, I think.
I heard that Vega/M. Bison was just visiting Genoa while travelling when he ran into (and eventually fought) Rose during SFA1/SFA2. He was in a car and he happened to pass by Rose. They both made eye contact w/ eachother and eventually started beefing. Weird, huh? I dunno if it’s tru, though.

Oops! I may have made a wrong link while reading. The thing is, he might if he is considered a spiritual leader and not just a yoga master. Yoga by itself doesn’t stress lending a hand to others, while Buddhism does.

It’s a Japanese Third Strike fan page. It’s got all the mid-boss dialogues and ending texts and shit. I sometimes skim through it to see if the Japanese version has significantly different dialogue from the American version.

It’s funny because I just bought the last volume of Dragon Ball not too long ago.

Anyway, good post, thanks for going over it again. I see really two possibilities with the whole Rose/Bison thing:

  1. Somehing like what you stated about them parting off from each other

  2. People who happen to be opposites of each other, like a much less romantic version of the “soul-mate” concept.

I’m thinkng that #2 is the more likely, but it’s vague in Capcom’s usual way. I don’t think Bison ever posseses Rose’s body as was conjectured in the plot guide FAQ, largely because the conjecture was based off of A2 artwork and tried to tie it to something that was written much later, and also because I don’t think A3 was designed to realy come before SF2. Seems more a re-write to end both of the series, since there were supposed to be no more Alpha or Sf2 games (Bison dying in every ending but 2 is not a coincidence).

Rose and Bison seem to not be able to kill each other. Doesn’t work for Bison in the A3 ending, and certainly didn’t work for Rose. Didn’t work for Rose in A2, and even in her A1 ending, which I guess doesn’t count now, she killed herself. I guess this would be part of the “sharing the same soul” thing.

The whole thing is vague…Rose doesn’t seem like she’d train under someone who was clearly evil, but maybe he wasn’t always evil? Maybe he hid it? How do you hide that from a psychic? Maybe she was in love and missed it? It’s never stated that they were ever romantically linked, maybe to avoid cliche, or maybe for a reason…?

Well that’s a lot of speculation, then he could be a Christian, too. Besides that he has a Hindu dot on his forehead, so does his wife and maybe his son, too (forgot).
I thought most of the people in India are Hindus followed by muslims. I could be wrong though.

Hey, the caste question is pretty much speculation also. Until I actually read the fine print if Capcom decided to explain things that far, I go for logical and probable choices, though not necessarily right.

SF3 3S is up for bid now at Yahoo Auctions Japan. Here’s a small look at its inside. It’d be nice if whoever wins it offers scans to the Arcade Flyer Archive.

Yeah, I guess not, but it doesn’t make sense. The SFA series seems to should have stopped at SFA3 and not SFA2. It just doesn’t make any sense.

You mean to say the series should of stopped at SFA2 and not SFA3 correct?

YES! EXACTLY!

I updated fightingstreet.com, I couldn’t upload the Japanese SFIIV theme yet, but I put up something else instead. Even if you didn’t like the American music of SFIIAM when you first heard it, give it a chance.

lmao. I was in a hurry when I was typing that out so lemme correct myself. At first, it seemed like Capcom originally planned to use the Alpha series as a way to give a more in-depth look at some of the SF1 characters, the origins of some SF2 characters, create a more significant connection/relation between SF1 & SF2 besides Ryu defeating Sagat, and to kinda’ build up to/set up the events of SF2. This was the plan at the beginning, mind you. It’s obvious now that Capcom hadn’t originally intended on creating SFA3 and that it was created only becuz of the success of the first 2. You can assume/conjecture/gather this by looking at SFA3’s endings and huge cast of characters (particularly the addition of DeeJay, T. Hawk, Fei Long, and Guile). While Capcom has never payed a lot of attention to SF’s storyline & chronology, it’s especially apparent/evident in SFA3. It’s as if Capcom wasn’t considering SF’s traditional storyline when they created SFA3. So yeah, I’m basically trying to say the Alpha series should’ve stopped at SFA2 when you take the storyline into consideration.

I agree. While I did like SFZ3, after that game I tossed the entire SFZ Series into an Alternate Reality and I believe most did since it had Vega exploding to smithereens with not enough in game evidence of how he could possibly return for SF2. Of course, if Capcom USA was quick enough to release in depth books explaining continuity or at the very least tell the umpteen magazines like Gamefan, PSM, etc. that stated that the Z/Alpha Series is an Alternate Reality that it was in fact in continuity it sure would of helped a lot.

Small artist tidbit. I think SF Eternal gives Bengus/CRMK’s real name. If I’m right, he’s credited for the Gouken sketch in the book, among dozens of other works. Anyone know if he has a homepage somewhere?

Nah, I know Akiman has a homepage somewhere. If you can figure out Bengus/CRMK’s real name maybe we can figure out what the Hell he’s been doing.

Well since things are quiet, the Seventh Post of this page has my SF4 concept. :lame: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:

Agreed, but what’s odd is that not even AAC mentions anything that would tell u that SFA3 and SF2 are connected, storyline-wise. I’m still curious as to where Saiki heard/read that M. Bison’s original body was blown up in his hideout and that he used Rose’s body in between SFA3 and SF2. Fortunately, the ret-conned endings in SSF2T Revival are sort of a reassurance that SFA3 and the SF2 series are connected. Still, the events in SFA3 make SF2 almost pointless, storyline-wise (w/ the exception of a few character motives).
