Warriors Fate: Street Fighter story thread, revived

Ok, so no specific book or anything. Sano, i saw a good MvC2 cover of Arcadia that looked like an official one (maybe the same artist).

The Cover with Sonson, Guile, Zangief, Ryu, Hayato, Rubyheart, Jin Saotome, Anakaris, Morrigan, Amingo, Bulletta, Capctain Commando and Strider (It’s easy for me to run down the names since I have that picture shrunken at my Desk at work next to this PC, man I’m a Geek…) is official Capcom Art. I’ve seen it elsewhere.

The Gamest MVC1 Cover owns it, though. It has the entire Capcom Cast including the helpers of MVC1 all packed together. (it’s not the Capcom Design Works pic where the MVC1 Capcom cast is in a cirlce. It’s a different unofficial one.) Boy, I sure miss Gamest Covers…

Hey aerialgroove, if it’s not too late, put in this request to your cousin: It’ll probably be hard, but try to find the following Gamest issues: 64, 77, 108 and 120. These are the big four SF pre-mooks. Especially 120 if it has the poster will be worth its weight in gold. And also the secret file for Third Strike would be nice since no one seems to have seen that other than its cover.

sano, the shopping district you’re probably noting is Akihabara; yes great place, went there when I went to Japan.

Yeah, for some reason my Gaijin Self can never pronounce the name right, thanks!

You got that pic somewhere? I just gave my cousin the list, it has a lot of books on it, don’t know if he’ll find even one of them, depends on where he hangs around. All Final Fight and Muscle Bomber guides are on it and some rare SF stuff. I can still send him a mail about the Gamest issues when he’s there, what’s so special about the poster? What art is it?

I can tell you what Issue it is, I believe it’s in the 200s. I’ll have a definitive answer tomorrow. I have to scan stuff next week anyways, maybe I’ll toss in that cover to.

A big, ugh… I guess ā€˜thanks’ to Iggy for finding this. Toy files of the craptacular US G.I. Joe Street Fighter Toys. YOOOO JOE! Or should I say, OH, NOOOOOO!!!

http://www.yojoe.com/filecard/93/

And spesking of Toys, Make sure you vote for the Sota Series 3 SF Toy Vote. And remember, a Vote for Demitri is a Vote for DS, VS, SVC Chaos, CFJ and the SF2V Intro, LOL!

Not art, but a character relations chart, faint pic below: It has connections between SF1 characters, a first in all the charts I’ve seen so far, and looks to have a link between Gen and Goutetsu. Could you PM me the list you’re sending off to your cousin? I’m curious to see what’s on there that I may have overlooked at one point.

I thought so. Thanx, vasili10. I guess that stuff about Dhalsim entering the SF2 tournament in order to test himself before he could ā€œrise to a higher state of consciousnessā€ was just more Capcom USA bullshit. Yeesh!

Hahaha. Interesting. Thanks.

Sweet! I’m all about anything Final Fight and/or Muscle Bomber-related. Like vasili10 said, the Third Strike Secret File would be nice. PEACE!

No problem, sir. Glad to be of service. Must start on the TOC of Hadouken no Nazo soon… :stuck_out_tongue:

-I thought that was in the Plot Guide, at least I read it somewhere, probably here.

The Secret File was already on my list, also all FF1,2,3,Mighty guides and MB1&2 guides. Again I don’t know if he will bring even ne of them. I also put some Gamest Mooks and 4 All About books on it and some SF Fan Books I only have the picture of, SF EC Artbook, the SF 15th anniversary book that I already bought from VIDEOGAMEYA on ebay and paid for this and several other items three months ago and never received shit ($75! I hate that fuckin bastard)I always printed out a pic of the cover if I had one, plus ISBN so he shouldn’t have to speak too much Japanese to get the books.

I think some of the GIJoe art wasn’t even bad, for example the Sagat pic was really good, almost photorealistic. What I didn’t like where the full body ones, Ken looked like a 95 years old Tina Turner.

Artwork Question:
Who drew the covers of SFII (Blanka VS Ryu + Chun-Li), SFIICE (Vega’s head in the back Ryu in the front and Vega vs Guile), SFIIT (Honda vs Sagat), SSFII (shadows of the four new challengers). Because I think they are great especially the one of SFIIT. They don’t seem to be Japanese and were only on the Western cases, manuals, posters etc.

Well, all the plot guide says is that Blanka’s scared of the fence in Vega’s stage. There isn’t an explanation why.

I see.

Did Capcom USA make that up with Sagat being called the ā€œKing Of Street Fightersā€? It doesn’t make a lot of sence because SF1 was the first SF tournament so how could he be the King there?

What does that explotion between Cammy and Chun-Li mean?

The Gamest Issue I’m talking about with the MVC1 Art is Issue 215. Unfortunatly, the cover has an insane/abnormal for Gamest amount of text. I wish I could find that drawing without text. The text is blocking lots of characters.

Found the Gamest Issue 215 Cover Online, only it’s not the best Scan in the world.

And for a full Gamest Cover Index - though not great scans -

Golden Dragon - Are you going to Game On NY? New York’s first Big Gaming Expo! Got my ticket already, can’t wait!

I can’t tell what’s the caption next to the explosion between Chun Li and Cammy, way too faint to make out.

Which Gamest mooks if any that I didn’t already mention? Specifics please. And also which SF Fan Books you have pictures of? Again specifics please, you’re following the footsteps of the plot guide! LOL

If your cousin goes to at least a regular new bookstore, he’s bound to find the 15th Anniversary book, Eternal, and the All About books since all those should still be in print; the rest will be iffy.

Maybe he wasn’t called specifically ā€œKing of Street Fightersā€, but I think he held some title other than Muay Thai Champion before losing to Ryu. He refers to his former title as ā€œWorld’s Strongestā€ in SSF2T and ā€œEmperorā€ in ā€˜Revival’. I remember vasili10 once read me the SF2’s plot summary from AAC and it mentioned that Ryu became ā€œStreet Fighter Championā€ after defeating Sagat in SF1.

Say whaaaaaaaaat??!! A Gaming Expo in NY?? Damn, that sounds intriguing. I’m not sure If I’d be able to make it, unfortunately. I’m not certain, though. Fresh.

I’m I aware that Tom’s a war veteran, but I’ve read that he is/was an army hand-to-hand combat fighting instructor. Is that true??

Darn it, I brought my ticket already, took that Thursday and Friday off from work so I’ll definitly be there all four days. Hope you can make it! If you do decide to go and see someone wearing either a Sagara Sanosuke or a Shishio Makoto Shirt with a nametag that says ā€˜Sano,’ make sure you say hi!
