So SRK got a makeover, huh? Swanky.

I hope the transition’s still in progress, hence the reason I’m getting the “server’s busy” message every five minutes. I also liked it better when you could choose any thread page without scrolling the page to the right. Anyone else find this inconvenient, or am I able to fix this?
Are you sure you want Chun Li’s info from the SSF2 manual, Golden Dragon? The one for SF2T has more than SSF2. I’ll also check for Blanka and armadillos. Stay tuned…
Yeah, scrolling all the way to the right to choose the next page is a lil’ inconvenient.
I’d still like to see Chun-Li’s bio from the SSF2 manual. Thanks.
Just kiddin. On the other hand, I never heard anything bout Demitri (not Dimitri) in the SFIIV intro because the scene is too quick, you got the book that’s why you knew it. Talking about SFIIV, wasn’t Gouki in the first episode at the airport? I can’t find him in the DVD version but I’m almost sure he was there in the VHS version.
He’s in the Airport in Thailand and Spain but not in San Francisco, I don’t think. I believe his first appearance was in Hong Kong along with the Muy Thai Thugs in Thailand when they attack Dorai’s Dojo. If memory serves, it’s been quite a while. I’ll check the Fan Subbed First Episode on VHS and see if I spot him.
Date of Birth: 3-1-1968
Height: 5’8"
Weight: (She won’t tell)
Blood Type: A
Unlike many of the other contestants, Chun Li has not entered the tournament for personal glory. Instead, she has been secretly tracking the movements of an international smuggling operation know (typo) as Shadowlaw. The trail has led her to the tournament and she now believes that one of the Grand Masters may have been responsible for the death of her father.
Nothing found about Blanka and armadillos in AAC or anywhere else. Come to think of it, I don’t think armadillos prefer to reside in jungle areas.
About the armadillos:
Y’know, I was thinking the same thing…
Thanks for posting Chun-Li’s bio for me. I guess you could say that the bio is a little dated (storyline-wise), since Chun-Li knows for a fact that M. Bison murdered her father, judging by her SFA1/SFA2 ending.
Btw, we all know that Chun-Li entered the SF2 tournament to destroy M. Bison and Shadaloo, but I remember hearing that another reason she wanted to directly confront Bison was 'cuz she wasn’t able to find evidence that would prove that he murdered her father.
About the Akuma cameos in SF2V:
He’s in the Indian village, also. You can see him w/ the villagers when Ryu & Ken are leaving India (If memory serves). It’s been a while for me too. However, I missed the Demitri look alike and the other 2 guys in the opening. It’s scary how closely that dude resembles Demitri. Does the Japanese version have a different opening from the dubbed one?
A few pages ago, I mentioned that Dhalsim’s original motive in the SF2 series was to win money so he could afford food for Datta. A little before the SF2 tournament began, Sally had begun weaning Datta. However, Dhalsim and Sally were poor, so they weren’t able to buy food for Datta. There wasn’t a lot of food in the house to begin with, partly 'cuz Dhalsim and Sally learned how to go for a long amount of time without eating from their Yoga studies (Yes, Sally too practices Yoga). As crazy as all this sounds, I’m afraid there’s some truth to it. However, I believe most of it was ret-conned when the SFA series and ‘Revival’ came into existence. vasili10, could you please check AAC or any other SF-related books in your possession to find out whether this is true or not? Thanks. I got this info from Red Cyclone and another Japanese SF-related website.
For Chun Li, yes that used to be a reason because prior to SFZ she hadn’t met Vega face to face.
For SF2V, the original Jap. broadcast had two openings. Manga’s release of the series put it with a single cut’n’paste opening of their own, with an instrumental opening with it for most of the episodes, even with the subtitled version.
Gouki is in the Indian village, with his arm in a cast no less! LOL
This sentence says that Blanka hates the wire mesh in Balrog’s stage. Wire mesh reminds him of a cage, and he’s wary that people will place him in a cage due to his appearance.
AAC says that Dhalsim did street fight for the sake of his child’s food earnings. Definitely true during the days of SF2 through SSF2X, and questionable after that.
That whole armadillo thing reminds me of Donkey Kong Country.
I must have mixed the airport scenes, thanks for the correction.
Yeah, I got the VHS version first (8 cassettes always double packed) with Japanese language and German subtitles and then the DVD version and the DVD is ok with the instrumental but the VHS opening with the Japanese singer is way better, once you got hooke you love the melody. Maybe I’ll throw it on my site with my next update.
Nah, Gouki’s not in the first episode of SF2V. He appears in India(first episode in India) but doesn’t get the Arm Cast, he gets that in a Hospital in Spain later on.
So he appears -
In Hong Kong with Muy Thai Thugs
Multiple times in the Airport in Thailand
In India
Watching Ken and Balrog fight in the Arena in Spain
Airport in Spain
Hospital in Spain
Kind of like Where’s Waldo that Gouki guy. Yes he appears in SFII AM, too, that’s the scene that inspired the Bengus art with the kid.
My cousin goes to Japan for 5 weeks I gave him a list of book he should buy, anything to add that could help us? (as fast as possible please, he leaves tomorrow)
Yeah, have that Ish. It’s one of the reasons why Gamest > Arcadia. They had an original cover provided by an Artist every Month. Arcadia mostly uses existing Artwork for covers. Still Arcadia > every other currrent Gaming Magazine in existence.
Ha! That cover is fresh. Thanks, aerialgroove.
I’m not sure what books yer cousin should buy. Is the SF3 Third Strike Secret File still available?? I’ve been wanting to see that for the longest time.
Make sure your cousin goes to Akibihara in Tokyo AKA Electric Town. It’s where I found all of my All About Capcom Books. You can find them all relativly easy if you check the Book Stores. Well, 2 years ago when I went you could anyways. Shinjiku’s the next best place, but Shinjiku is TOO MASSIVE they have every kind of shopping in existence so to look for one specific thing like SF related books is exhausting. I found some CVS1 mini figures there and a CVS2 Strategy Guide.
But anyway - Akibihara = Heaven. With Arcades outdoors, underground, above ground, everywhere WITH ASHTRAYS, Models, Electric goods, toys, Coin Machines that will give you Mini Video Game/Anime snap together models and a Gundam Store smack dab in the Train Station, a McDonalds on almost every corner so you can save money on food and eat the McTeriyaki Burger, man, it sure is paradise.
