beelzebubble - Cool, thanks! I apologized over at MMCAFE anyway so I can sleep at night…
Yeah I’ve heard that before as well. Thanks vasili10. If you didn’t find anything mentioning illegal pro-wrestling, then it probably isn’t true. Thanks again.
Igatona
vasili10’s right. Storyline-wise, 2nd Impact’s the same as New Generation, plus 2 new characters. The character motives are exactly the same in both games.
Good news,Sano. The MMcafe BBS is back. And I’m so happy it’s back.Catch you back at the cafe man.
Speaking of the MMcafe, weren’t there scans of the 3S Secret File posted there a long time ago? Did anyone manage to get any, or am I completely mistaken? I thought a dead link once sent me there when I went searching for the file.
Tiamat, I think u said in the plot guide that Honda being the Sumo
Grandmaster must’ve been a mistranslation by Capcom USA. That’s not true. Even the SF2 Turbo Instruction manual says, “Upon receiving the title of “Yokozuna” or grand champion, Honda was shocked to learn that the rest of the world did not consider Sumo wrestling a true sport.”
The Japanese instruction manual?
Nope. The north american instruction manual. That’s my whole point. Capcom USA has never said Honda was the Yokozuna.
Rare Sagat Artwork
What do you think about this one? What does it show? Sagat already has his eye patch and scar.
Rare Sagat Artwork
It shows him gripping his chest. This is most likely after he regains consciousness from SnH Ryu’s blow, or after the fight with Adon.
So you say the blood on his right hand is his?
Different topic:
In the intro of the SFIIV tv show there are several characters that I can’t remember showing up in any episodes. What’s that all about?
Re: Rare Sagat Artwork
In Sagat’s SSF2T ending there’s a line that reads, “The great scar on his chest reminds him every day of just how much untapped power Ryu has!” Are they referring to the SnH??
Are you sure? Like who?
vasili10, could you please translate these 2 small paragraphs for me? The first paragraph is about Guy’s relationship w/ Haggar and the second one is about Gunloc/Lucky Colt. It also mentions his confrontation w/ Cody.

Re: Re: Rare Sagat Artwork
One of them looks exactly like… well, you gotta wait till tomorrow but you’ll be surprised. I’ll upload a collage I just made.
One of the characters in SF2V’s intro looks like Demitri with a Sword. Ryu’s fighting him on a train. Whoa…
There’s another guy wearing purple with long blonde hair Ken kicks away.
Seriously, I’m sure these are just generic thugs. In the SF2V book, there are no character designs for any of them while there are character designs of every other character that appeared in the first few episodes. They also have pictures of the entire opening and ending credit sequences.
Re: Re: Rare Sagat Artwork
Battle in Metro City (Sept. 1, 1990) while visiting in Japan.
At that time, Guy was returning to Japan, Haggar mailed an up-front come-to-Japan notice, with a taken picture of sisters Rena & Maki together.
Haggar attaches to the pro-wrestling group CWA’s (CAPCOM WRESTLING ASSOCIATION) wrestler.
Nickname is Florida’s wild horse.
Popular, in the rumored all-American #1 powerful group.
At the fight’s finish, Colt makes passes at Jessica, and brawls outside the ring with Cody.
Together they have good bouts, as a young wrestler he finishes with draws.

Thanks for translating those paragraphs for me. I forgot to include the first 2 lines in that paragraph about Haggar. The first line says that Haggar’s a pro wrestler and the mayor of Metro City. The second line says that he and Cody destroyed the Mad Gear (I think). Btw I could be wrong, but I think the the line translates to, “He (Haggar) visited Japan after the fight in Metro City”.
Possibly. I don’t know why but sometimes the Jap. script you copy & paste doesn’t thoroughly transfer well (sometimes I see dots and numbers where there should be kanji and kana). In the future if possible try sending me a link to the actual page you find the info so I can minimize the guessing at the gaps. Thanks.
Sure. The reason I don’t post a link is 'cuz I wanted to save you the trouble of looking around for the paragraph/text I’d like translated. I’ll send u the link from now on if it’ll help you more. Thanks again.
Below is the link to the website I got those paragraphs from:
http://www.geocities.co.jp/AnimeComic-Ink/8883/StreetFighter/Top.html
If you’d like a link to any of the sites I get information from, just ask. Peace!
Thanks for ruining the surprise, sano. Here is the pic of the SFIIV intro:
I think it’s weird how much he looks like Demitri and how unusual the other characters are (not just random thugs). The one on the bottom left doesn’t even look like a human.
Can you tell me the name of Rinko’s grampa who looks a lot like Retsu (see attached pic)?
Is it possible that her name is meant to be Linko (“Lin-Ko”) and not Rinko, the usual R/L switch problem? At least that’s how Ryu says her name in both Japanese and English.
Thanks.
So SRK got a makeover, huh? Swanky.
Apparently Blanka wasn’t even 10 years old when his plane crashed in Brazil.
His skin became green in order to adapt to life in the jungle. It has nothing to do w/ his close contact w/ electric eels.
I’ve heard that his rolling attacks were inspired/influenced by watching armadillos (As stupid as it sounds). Does anyone know if there’s any truth to that??
vasili10
You have the SSF2 SNES instruction booklet, right? Could you please post Chun-Li’s backstory/biography word-for-word? Thanks.
