Yeah, but would a threat to the world wake him from a coma?
Actually Guy could of probaly come out of his coma when Gill appeared, but he would probaly in no condition to fight and still be getting over the effects of his coma, but then again he shoulda been healthy by the time Third Strike rolls around, but who knows. Maybe he did in fact try to get to Gill at some point if he had awoken from his coma, but simply couldn’t.
Wow, these people are still around? Ah well. Guess it just goes to show that when a thread revives, all participants, including the trolls, return back to it.

These trolls were from the original thread too right?
What I find funny is these guys make fun of this thread and yet always come back…
Oh well, I’ll go with the same idea with ignoring them too
A threat to the world would likely wake Guy up if he’s in a coma. Such a villian would posses a HUGE amount of power and would likely attract the attention of ALL the fighters who can sense ki.
Gil and Urien DO pose a threat to the world for one reason, they are not natual. When Guy challenges Gouki in the Alpha storyline, he does so because Gouki is unnaturally powerful and because he wants to prevent Gouki from facing Vega.
A similar situation could arise with Urien vs. Gil.
I wonder if Guy went missing because his SFA3 ending really DID happen. In his SFA3 ending, he realizes the power of Bushin even more, and decides that “right and wrong are irrelevent” and that his job now, instead of to take action or something, is to be the bearer and holder of such power. …I think. Honestly, the text was so messed up that I’m still having trouble figuring out exactly what it meant, which is probably due to Capcom USA’s piss poor translation. Ack!
It’d be kind of funny/strange/annoying if it turned out that 66% of SFA3’s endings actually happened, instead of the other way around that it currently seems to be
*Remember what Karin says, “when there is a threat to the world, the shadow of Bushin will arise”. *
One note, Kairi is not a Bushin-ryuu warrior. That was made up by Capcom USA. But that quote is something that Guy has said as well. But when this is said, it doesn’t neccesarily mean that one person will come back. It means that a warrior of Bushin will come out. So it doesnt really mean that Guy will come back. He could come back but I think its more likely that Maki will be the next Bushin-ryuu warrior to take the spot.
I got more questions… I know that Karin’s ending did not happen at all… but does she REALLY have that weapon?
how powerfull is Guy’s Bushin Musou Renge? In the game it is a level 3 super that is as powerfull as the shin shoryuken, how powerfull is that thing storylinewise? As powerfull as the shin shoryuken?
I dont know if its ever stated if Ryu knows or not, but I imagine Gouken proably mentioned or talked about his brother when he was training Ryu.
I know what happend to Guy! Maki killed him when he was sleeping so she could become the next Bushin-ryuu master! Just kidding.
Yeah I’d for sure say that Maki is the next Bushin-ryuu warrior in line, and after her it probaly be Guy’s son, if he ever had one, or if he ever impregnated his fiance. Anyone know if he ever married his fiance?
Post the pic and I’ll tell you. Not to brag, but I have good deal of knowledge when it comes to official SF art.
yes I was referring to Karin, still it’s interesting to hear that Karin and Guy are simply referring to the generic ‘Bushin Master’ and not a specific person.
I was looking at the art of the Alpha series and the art of SSF2T and compared them to the art used in SF3. Anyone else notice how calm Ryu looks now? He looks more at peace then the stern angry look he has in Super
Wasn’t Haggar busy running for election during the Alpha timeline?
Bushin Musou Renge is NOT as powerful as the ShinShoryuken, it likely is an instant kill techinque.
Karin’s family probably does have access to some Super Powerful technology.
And I really doubt Ryu knows Gouki is Gouken’s brother.
Gouken didn’t seem real interested in maintaining and or speaking about his training with his brother. The fact that he changed the fighting style he learned with him to something less lethal shows this.
It IS possible that Ryu learns Gouki’s true identity from Gouken’s daughter or simply noting that Gouken and Gouki have similar Ki auras. At the very least, Ryu would have to note that Gouki utilizes a style similar to his own.
Well you have to remember the same artist (Bengus) drew him a majority of the time, and he always draws him very serious looking, sometimes angry too, but the change dosn’t really have anything to do with anything canon wise, its more of the fact that its just a diffrient artsit drawing him. Actually now that I think of it I don’t think there’s even one official artwork of him smiling, isnt that sad?
Go here to see the “evolution” of Ryu artwork wise.
All the pics on the page provided were drawn by Bengus except the Shoryuken one, the old/young Ryu one, and from the SF vs X-Men (the last one in the first row) Ryu on aren’t drawn by him either.
Also can someone tell me what the kanji on Ryu’s belt stands for? You can see it written on his belt in the first few pics posted in teh above link.
Also if ant of you have any other questions about anything artwise don’t hesitate to ask.
During Alpha?! Heck no! He was running for mayor during Slam Masters 1-2, which took place before SF1 and FF1!
The Kanzuki zaibatsu does, in fact. I believe the satellite was referenced in the Plot Guide by the name, Manjushage.
Ryu may have heard about Gouki, but just didn’t meet him in person till SFA2. Ryu says he feels as if he knows Akuma in his Japanese boss battle dialogue with Akuma in SFA2.
I got that picture in the brazilian version of White wolf’s street fighter rpg. In the brazilian version all the artwork was switched to official art work from capcom, but I am not sure if all the art work there is really official, because there are some weirds pictures, like one where Dalshim is praying near a unconscious Rose, another one where Guile and Sagat are fighting, another one where Chun li is fighting against Vega, in the same arena of the previous picture, Ryu fighting against Blanka in the same arena, another one where Maki and Delta Red Cammy are fighting together. Do you want to see it?
Edit: I do not think that Capcom did some new art work only for the brazilian version of the book… in the begging of the book there are even screen shots…
