Warriors Fate: Street Fighter story thread, revived

There were two SF2V Mangas? I didn’t know that. I’ll tell you witch one I got.

As you know, Mangas in Japan come out in Anthologies until they are collected in seperate Volumes, so when the SF2V Manga ended, Masahiko Nakahira’s Manga started running in Gamest. When the SF2V Manga ended, it was already known who the new characters in SFZ2 Game were going to be so Rolento and Sakura got brief cameos in the SF2V Manga. The game came out during the SFZ Manga run, and with SNH Ryu appearing in both Mangas, I get the feeling that someone in Capcom told both of the Manga creators about SNH Ryu.

Let’s see, in the Manga Ryu was fighting some sort of Mutated creature Vega created. Ryu was loosing the fight and when he was unconsious in his mind an evil pupiless Ryu tapped the ‘good’ Ryu on the shoulder and kind of took his place. SNH Ryu was able to heal his wounds and teleport like Gouki around the creature. One punch made a bunch of ‘chi dragons’ burst out of the creature’s body and SNH Ryu finished it off with a one handed fireball blast.

I didn’t see Gouki in it, but I don’t have all the issues. When I discovered it, I brought the last issue in an Anthology book and later I tracked down the first part that was collected in a seperate volume, so I don’t know what happened in the middle of it. Dash No Chris has the whole thing, and he once remarked that the Manga was a lot better than the SF2V Anime. Well, I liked the SF2V Anime more than some since it kind of made me the SF Faanatic I am today so I don’t know.

In the SF2V Manga, SNH Ryu looked just like Ryu in the SF2V Anime. Remove the top part of his Gi so he’s shirtless, take away his pupils so he has eyes like Gouki/Vega/Sagat, and give him an evil smiling grin.

The creature he fought was a long haired winged creature.

Since we are talking about comics, I just picked up the last Issue of the Hong Kong SVC Comic. It was a bit whacky, but the game is pretty whacky so I really liked it. Can’t wait for the US translation coming soon!

According to Final Fight 2’s storyline, the Mad Gear Gang planned to take over the world, which is why the game takes place around the world and not just in Metro City.
According the US Final Fight 2 instruction booklet, the game takes place several years since Final Fight 1, which is strange since Haggar’s the same age in both Final Fight 1 & 2. Did Final Fight 2 officially take place in 1988? Where is that stated?

The Mad Gear Gang ruled the Metro City underworld, before they were completely destroyed during FF2. However, without the Mad Gear to control the underworld, the street gangs fought amongst themselves for power over the city. In the end, the Skull Cross Gang reigned supreme.

Gouki questions

Don’t want to interrupt your topics, just in case someone is bored and wants to answer:
In one of the earlier posts about Gouki not being more evil than Gen and so on someone said he was “saving that kid” or something. What’s that all about?
Who’s the kid on that one SFZ art where Gouki gives him a fruit? It’s from the line where every SFZ character is shown with another character (ie Guy and Cody and so on). Is that the kid he saved? Why does Gouki sell fruits? Is it cause he sat there like that in India in SFIIAM and they liked the idea? Is his job to sell fruits? Just curious, thanks.

EDIT:
I found the answers on most but still don’t know what was meant with the kid Gouki saved. Anyone?

Gouki questions

Just a small extra blurb about Gouki during SFZ3, actually called a side story in AAC, but more elaborately covered in AASFZ3 he helps out a kid who wanders into his cave. Currently trying to translate this page of the book.

That Art of him selling fruit is inspired by his Cameo in the SF2 Animated Movie. It’s cut off in the version that’s made to fit your screen, so you need to watch a letter boxed version. He comes out in India as a ‘hidden character.’ Anyway, I strongly doubt it’s the same kid he saved.

The SF2V Manga I’m talking about is from Kodansha Comics.

Oh, I was wrong about what Gouken looked like in the Manga by just a bit (Wellit was like a decade ago…) He didn’t have an eyepatch but has a scar that went through where his right eye used to be. His clothing even has beads and is overall surprisingly close to what the real Gouken wears. He had no beard and a monk styled haircut. His face looked like the older Ryu from SF3 only his eyebrows were normal and not as bushy, and the scar goes through his right eyebrow.

snkneoshingo2k4 - Welcome aboard! You should still try giving the KOF Thread a chance. No harm in Posting in 2 Threads! I don’t know much about KOF Games but there are others here who do who can help you out.

My last account of how SNH Ryu came about in the SF2V Manga was going by memory. Here’s one I’ll do with the Manga right in front of me so it will be more accurate.

The creature I mentioned before (he had bat wings and a tail, I can only compare him to a younger looking winged Gill, but with frizzier hair, large tube like veins sticking out of his body and he doesn’t have that two toned Gill thing. It’s in no way Gill as Gill did not exist back then) was choking Ryu. As Ryu lost consciousness we can see him falling inside his mind. SNH Ryu taps Ryu on the area between his right neck and right shoulder. This is when SNH Ryu took control of Ryu. SNH Ryu took the hand that was choking him and ripped it off the creature! SNH Ryu then healed his bloody wounds as they seemed to evaporate. The Demon shot Ki blasts at Ryu but he Teleported away from them in a side by side fashion. (Think of how Vega was moving about in the last episode of SF2V.) He wound up behind the creature and ripped his wings off! He then teleported in a circle around the creature and somehow this caused Ki Dragon heads with long necks (Think Dragon Ball Z) to burst out of the creature leaving him really f****d up with various organs exposed! SNH Ryu wound up behind the beast again and ripped out his robotic heart! Ryu used his Ki in the same hand holding the heart to destroy it. He then joined both hands to focus his Ki (looked kind of like how one folds his hands to pray). With his right hand, he blasted the creature to skull and organs (this was very graphic and violent) until all that was left was the top half of his skull. This occured in a Mountain where Vega(Using Japanese Names), teenage Balrog wearing a Militaristic Shadowloo Troop uniform and some other girl wearing the same outfit where located. Ryu’s blast wound up destroying the Mountain, but all of these characters minus the creature managed to somehow survive, as they are shown in the end of the Manga. Vega’s two Agents are hanging with him, and Ryu faces off against Rolento who just knocked out Dan’s Teeth!

The Plot involved Vega making Robot Versions of SF Characters. Here’s all the characters that I know appeared in this SF2V Manga(Remember, I have the beginning and end but not the middle. Using Japanese Names.)

Ryu, Balrog, Zangief, Vega, Ken, Chun-Li, T.Hawk, Mike Bison, Guile, Blanka, Cammy(Looked very young with no scar and plain clothes, one ponytail instead of two pig tails and the same bang) Gouken, Dan and Rolento.

And the Robot Characters were -

Ryu, Ken, Sakura, Cammy(Wearing the Delta Red outfit, looked young and still no scar, but she had the two pigtails back), T.Hawk, Guy, Guile and Birdie(You can see a darkened image of a guy with a mohawk in the background of a pic with a bunch of robots).

Hmm, ok. So it’s that series. Makes me wonder how the other one is. Anyway, the scenario you mentioned Ryu getting whupped by Vega’s creation and then an evil Ryu takes over with a tag-in. Know what that reminds me of? The same relation between Nakoruru and Rera in Samurai Spirits Zero. I wonder if the term Satsui no Hadou is actually mentioned in this manga. Have you seen the kanji for the term enough to recognize it?

I’d recognize the Kanji using AAC so I’ll look for it.

Saiki stated that FF2 took place during Alpha 2. Dunno where the statement is. Don’t think it could have taken place AFTER Alpha 2, though, given that the thing is supposed to be fully destroyed around Alpha 3 as far as I can tell (I believe AAC also says when Mad Gear was fully destroyed, doesn’t it? SOMETHING does, but I forget what. It’s in the plot guide somewhere but I’m kinda sleepy now)

Anyone know what the blue goopy pacman ghost thing in the latest issue of the Street Fighter comic is? :stuck_out_tongue:

yeah it’s from cammy’s SSF 2 ending.

You’ve never seen that SSF2 pic of Cammy w/ her Delta Red team mates? You can see the lil’ blue blob on that kid’s shoulder.

Minna-san remember the site found that has a comprehensive listing of all character quotes from SFZ3? I’ve managed to find one that seems to have all others. It’s a bit messy to navigate but it looks fairly complete; heck it even seems to have CVS quotes.

It looks like it’s meant to have a lot more stuff in the future. High hopes for this page I have.

Hey TiamatRoar, have you checked out Ataru’s page lately? Looks like he and some other people are trying to bring out a Dolls calendar or something like that. Here’s the pic I found:

Yo if you own AAC, could you check page 32 for me? I heard it says something about SFA1/SFA2 taking place only several months after SF1. Btw, does anyone here have ALL ABOUT STREET FIGHTER ZERO 3?

I never got what it actually is. First I though it was a weapon that looks like a cartoon character (a blade with an eye) but it looks like one of those green Futurama slime snails only in blue.

What the heck is it? What is its job in Delta Red? Does it have a name? Was it ever mentioned anywhere or is it just there? What does it do in the SF comic, (I don’t have that issue yet)?

On this old drawing (I don’t know if it was released before or after SSFII) it also seems to have a mouth or at least lips. Can it talk?

Can’t see much on that ending pic (some Marvel VS game)

Ok, I’ll check it. And I have AASFZ3 also.

Vasili10, you have AASFZ3 too? Then could you check page 45 for me? I heard it says something about Sagat dissappearing 1 year after the events of SFA1/SFA2. SFA3 might’ve taken taken place in 1988. Please check page 65 as well. It should have some info on Guy. I heard somewhere on that page it says Metro City became peaceful one year ago. Thanks a lot.

Ok, will do. No response from the Red Cyclone webmaster yet?

Nah, dude. I sent him the e-mail at the beginning of this week (I think?). Actually, I sent him another e-mail yesterday w/ the same question 'cuz he hasn’t responded yet. I guess he’s busy.
