There were two SF2V Mangas? I didn’t know that. I’ll tell you witch one I got.
As you know, Mangas in Japan come out in Anthologies until they are collected in seperate Volumes, so when the SF2V Manga ended, Masahiko Nakahira’s Manga started running in Gamest. When the SF2V Manga ended, it was already known who the new characters in SFZ2 Game were going to be so Rolento and Sakura got brief cameos in the SF2V Manga. The game came out during the SFZ Manga run, and with SNH Ryu appearing in both Mangas, I get the feeling that someone in Capcom told both of the Manga creators about SNH Ryu.
Let’s see, in the Manga Ryu was fighting some sort of Mutated creature Vega created. Ryu was loosing the fight and when he was unconsious in his mind an evil pupiless Ryu tapped the ‘good’ Ryu on the shoulder and kind of took his place. SNH Ryu was able to heal his wounds and teleport like Gouki around the creature. One punch made a bunch of ‘chi dragons’ burst out of the creature’s body and SNH Ryu finished it off with a one handed fireball blast.
I didn’t see Gouki in it, but I don’t have all the issues. When I discovered it, I brought the last issue in an Anthology book and later I tracked down the first part that was collected in a seperate volume, so I don’t know what happened in the middle of it. Dash No Chris has the whole thing, and he once remarked that the Manga was a lot better than the SF2V Anime. Well, I liked the SF2V Anime more than some since it kind of made me the SF Faanatic I am today so I don’t know.
