Warriors Fate: Street Fighter story thread, revived

You’re sooo right. That’s pretty strange of them. Only Capcom…

I have a question about Gouki. I haven’t posted on here in a while but I remember reading on Tiamont FAQ that Ryu and Ken’s master was there when Gouki killed there master. Somebody said that he was happy to have been supassed by his student. Do you guys ever think that Gouki was the favored student. Being that Gouken didn’t embrace the killing intent and Gouki did. Just send your thoughts. Holla

You go against us and you DIE!!!..Simple as that

I think he’d like them both equally since he only had 2 students, but that’s just me.

Vega and the two students he trained with -

Seeing as how the two students he trained with were not trained in Psycho Power, it leans more to the popular theory that he trained with Urien and Gill. It’s still a theory though unless Capcom gives an Official word.

Vega’s master has shown up more than once in Hong Kong Comics, and the ironic thing is he always looks the same no matter who has the rights for the SF Comic going on at the time, and he always gets killed by Vega. Here’s what he looks like.

Take Vega and turn his outfit green, kind of like the Studio Udon Vega X-MAS bust. Give him long blonde hair. Sometimes the face looks like Vega’s, sometimes it doesn’t, sometimes he has the Shadowloo symbols on his hat and sometimes he doesn’t, but the green suit and long blonde hair are two constants.

Not that the Hong Kong Comics are official by any means, since they usually change lots of stuff and kill lots of characters.

True, but it’s still pretty interesting that he looks similar in every comic book series, regardless of who’s working on it.

Also aerialgroove, Effie is Necro’s interest, not Oro’s. I believe you’re referring to the group pic with Hoimei, Shaomei, Effie and Patricia.

Was Gouki the favored student in Goutetsu’s eyes? Possibly. For one reason, most likely keeping with the true spirit of the Ansatsuken taught by Goutetsu in the first place; and for another reason Gouki enabling his master to die gloriously in battle rather than of old age or of disease.

You have ALL ABOUT CAPCOM right? Does it say that Haggar’s mayorship ended in 1992? According to Saiki, they state that somewhere in the book.

In AAC under Haggar’s section for SFZ3 one sentence translates roughly, “As for Metro City’s mayor’s term of office, two years remain.” So if we establish that SFZ3 took place in 1990, then yes his mayorship ended in '92.

Hello, everyone.I’m snkneoshingo2k4,I’m a member of the MMCafe forums, and this is my first time writing on these forums, and especially on this thread.Even though I adore SNK Playmore and,in particular,The King Of Fighters,my love for Taisen Kakutou Games(fighting games)was born thanks to Street Fighter,so it’s great to come here every single day and always find out something new about this fighting testament which still lives on even today.
Anyway, after a long time lurking at all the amazing info I found out thanks to you all,I’m here to make two requests:
1.To Golden Dragon:First of all, thank you for the findings you give us,especially on character backgrounds, full names and info, now I want to ask you;since you get all this info from Street Fighter World and mainly from Red Cyclone, are there any Japanese sites that gets the character info for The King Of Fighters, and if possible, could you please translate the info that you may find, that would help my KOF knowledge. The reason why I asked you for this favour is becuase I feel that, just like Street Fighter, even KOF has lots of specific character information that almost no one knows about, and since it’s over two years that between two long(and, sadly, one erased) threads, you gave all of us,and even Capcom, the chance to know about the world they created for us to play and to live,I feel the same thing goes for another world, more or less,as big as Street Fighter.
2.To Saiki:I’ve noticed, because I regularly visit GameFaqs, that you created a Plot Faq for Samurai Spirits/Samurai Shodown, and you’ve done a very good job with it,although it’s been two months since the last update, and so,I’m here to give you a helping hand. Thanks to the leading man of the MMCafe forums Iggy,I can give you a tidbit about the true enemy of Samurai Shodown V;you know that this evil entity goes by the name of Ankikou, but it has a real name, and it’s Kuraki Sumeragi, and thanks to him,I can even tell you the game’s real end:
Hinowanokami Kyougoku Gaoh is wounded by someone(it’s implied that any character of the game could have done that),and he summons Ankikou, but Yoshitora Tokugawa talks to him and reminds him his ideals;then Gaoh helps Liu Yunfei destroy Kuraki Sumeragi. Both Yunfei and Gaoh die in the process, although the PS2 version could give a different point of view concerning Gaoh.
And you also didn’t write the release date for this game,it was released on the 12th of October.I hope you’ll be pleased by this new info, and I personally look forward to your next Faq update;and don’t forget to note April 23rd 2004,the release of the last great game and the perfect swansong for the unforgettable Neo Geo MVS:Samurai Spirits Zero Special.
Well, that’s all for now,I hope that my requests,in one way or another, will be taken in consideration, and I thank you all in advance for all the news and help that you always give us every day.BTW, thank you Dash no Chris for the telling me how the Japanese say fighting games, and I wish you the best of luck on the complete renovation of your website,of which I’m an avid follower,Dash Taisen.See you later.
Peace Forever! Taisen Kakutou Forever!

"Also aerialgroove, Effie is Necro’s interest, not Oro’s. I believe you’re referring to the group pic with Hoimei, Shaomei, Effie and Patricia."

Yes of course, I got no idea why I said Oro I guess I was just too tired. Yes I mean that pic.

To Golden Dragon
"So AAC says the specific year his mayorship ended? It was 1992? Yo, aerialgroove and vasili10 both have the book, right? Could one of you guys verify that for me?"

I got the book but I can’t read Japanese so I can only scan stuff for you, if you need a certain picture or text let me know.

To Sano:
"The judges are…"
Where can I find images of them (screenshots or artwork)? Where do you have the names from?

Thanks everybody.

The judges are all on one page in All About SF3 New Generation the Fighting Bible with their names written in Japanese. They also appear in AAC with seperate Bios if you now where to find them. Originally, to end the confusion of people thinking the judges were other people, I used my Japanese English Dictionary to translate the names, but me not being fluent in Japanese since to translate properly you need to now both languages there was no way I could do it accurately, but my point was to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that they were in fact seven different characters. Later, Saiki came and correctly translated some of the names I got wrong, and Golden Dragon added the rest of the names that were missing.

That’s good cause I bought that fighting bible on ebay, should be here soon. Does anybody know if the other All About Book (All About Deluxe, SFIII characters or something like that) is any good?

Different topic:
Is it true that Capcom adopted Gouken’s look from the Street Fighter II Manga by Masaomi Kanzaki?
I think it might be true, since the Manga Gouken has the beard (ok it’s brown not white but still) the chain and the same clothing as well as the same hairstyle. The manga was drawn at a time when there was no DeeJay/Cammy/Fei-Long/T.Hawk yet and of course no Gouki either. Now if Capcom adopted Gouken’s look it also influenced Gouki’s since he has the chain too.
Here is the pic of Gouken from the manga series.

That Manga marks the first time I ever saw what Gouken looked like, but SF Manga Artists usually work close with Capcom. Without some sort of official confirmation, it’s really hard to say.

A great example is Satsui No Hado Ryu. The Short lived “Game On!” USA Magazine when discussing the trick on how to unlock SNH Ryu in SFZ2 made the statement that SNH Ryu came from and first appeared in Masahiko Nakahira’s SFZ Manga, and that he was that Artist’s brainchild. That statement is wrong. The first time I’ve seen SNH Ryu was in the Street Fighter II V Manga (The Manga was very different from the Anime) and that Manga started and ended before the SFZ Manga. In short, Manga creators work close with Capcom at times so there’s no way one can be sure who invented what unless Capcom says so. Capcom did however admit that Yun and Yang’s Girlfriends were inspired by that restaurant girl who had the hots for Ryu in Masaomi Kanzaki’s Manga.

Gouken also appeared in the SF2V Manga. This time he looked like an older Ryu with an eyepatch of all things.

“That Manga marks the first time I ever saw what Gouken looked like, but SF Manga Artists usually work close with Capcom. Without some sort of official confirmation, it’s really hard to say.”

I understand.

“Capcom did however admit that Yun and Yang’s Girlfriends were inspired by that restaurant girl who had the hots for Ryu in Masaomi Kanzaki’s Manga.”

Her name was Po Lin I think.

The King Of Fighters, and if possible, could you please translate the info that you may find, that would help my KOF knowledge. The reason why I asked you for this favour is becuase I feel that, just like Street Fighter, even KOF has lots of specific character information that almost no one knows about

Thanks for the props and everything. I really appreciate it. If youre lookin for KOF info, you should check out that SNK storylines thread, if you havent already. If not, then Ill take a quick look around for u.

Vasili10 already answered my question, but thanks anyway.

Sano, was it you who said that the Japanese version of Masaomi Kanzakis SF2 manga is a little longer than the American one? If so, how much longer is it and what did we miss out on? Thanks.

Masaomi Kanzaki’s SF2 manga is longer than what was released in the US, a whole tankoubon (volume) longer. The eight color issues released in the US covered the first 2 volumes. The third volume was an extra story that focused on the world warriors fighting their doubles among other things.

Also Golden Dragon, about your past translations of people’s bio’s, for Vega and Shadoloo’s drug SH11, (pretty sure you got these from Street Fighter World) AAC has an entry for SH11 but only for the game SFEX2 Plus. I think the webmaster assumes that the EX series is canon also. Oh yeah, any answer from Red Cyclone about the books yet?

sano: Wow! Are you sure that SnH Ryu is in the SF2V manga? Me need details! Is it the 2-volume series from Shogakukan or the 3-volume series from Kodansha? Does Gouki show up at all? What are the circumstances under which Ryu awakens to Satsui no Hadou? You sure it’s not Psycho Ryu instead? Please share.

Dear Golden Dragon, thanks for answering my plea. The truth is that I don’t even need to bother with the other thread, because it’s a waste of time, but before it was erased and brought back,it was a good general SNK story thread, although not even half as good as this one-of-a-kind thread, especially with all the same old info that I knew as well, but now,it’s all but deserted.I guess that ever since that SNK came back,no one, except the creators themselves, cares about neither the story nor the characters of its fighting games, but I envy you guys, because although Street Fighter has been dead for quite some time(and thankfully it’s back),with all the info you gathered all this time, you’ve all managed to give out a clearer picture concerning both the story and the characters of this 17-year-old franchise. And therefore,I’ve decided to pin all my hopes for new knowledge on you, because,if it weren’t for you, neither I nor anyone else would not even know the whole intricacies both general and character plot-wise that Street Fighter has,so I sincerely hope you can do the same thing on a world, different but just as unique as this one, such as The King Of Fighters.
Thank you in advance, and keep up the magnificent work.
Peace Forever!Taisen Kakutou Games Forever!

So is that where that darn drug came from? I kept on seeing it mentioned in fanfics while searching google to see if I could find some new tidbits and wondered what the heck it was about.

Q’s way to talk

What’s that all about? When Q says “…(yes)” or “…(no)” how does that sound? Does he just say nothing and means yes or no or does he say it very quietly after making a long brake or what?

Street Fighter EX2? Lame. Thanks for telling me, though. To be honest, I was a little reluctant to mention SH11, but I decided to anyway just because. My bad. Again, thanks a lot for finding that out. I personally can’t stand the EX series and I wouldn’t want anything from it getting into the plot guide. Oh yeah, thanks for fillin’ me in on the Japanese version of Masaomi Kanzaki’s SF2 manga. The characters fought against their doubles? Interesting. How’d they explain that? And no, I haven’t received an answer from Red Cyclone yet. I’ll let u know as soon as I receive his reply.
