Warriors Fate: Street Fighter story thread, revived

I have it too but all I can do is stare at those incredibly small pics.

And feel great to have it.
If you guys want me to scan something so you can translate it let me know.

Here’s another damn old post of this thread:

How can Tekkaman be the inspiration for Q’s design? I don’t see any similarities. Anybody?

Maybe because Tekkaman and Q have kind of the same round face and vacant expression and eyespots.

Anyway, I’ve had AAC for about half a year now. This next info is extremely vague, but under Ken’s section it mentions him being an eyewitness to Gouken and Gouki’s battle, and also he sees a ā€œyoungā€ one there too, and in parentheses it goes on to say roughly ā€œwho obtained a reputation previously for the fighting school?ā€ Kinda vague like I said, but Capcom’s possibly still remembering Gouken’s long lost daughter. Gotta see next if we can find the basis Ataru used for his sketch of Ojou-san.

Hey, thanks I added them and some more I could find online to the list. (The URL slighty changed http://fightingstreet.com/folders/variousinfofolder/gamestmookfolder/gamestmookpage.html) Also give me ISBNs if you find any.

And could someone translate what Game this Gamest Mook is about? http://product.esbooks.yahoo.co.jp/product/game/ranking?accd=07037635

Are all Gamest Mooks by Shinseisha?

And one last question, in an old post of this thread megnet-0 said:
"…he (Sodom) fought Fujiyama (AKA E. Honda) with his helmet on…" What’s that all about (the name not the ending)?

Thanks everybody.

All Gamest mooks were from Shinseisha. Originally the sumo wrestler Sodom fights in his SFZ2 ending was a generic character called Fujiyama, but when SFZ3 came along, Capcom changed him to a more familiar face hence Honda and Sodom’s conversations and ties in SFZ3.

The mook link is for what roughly translates to Cyber Battle (Dennou Senki) Pacharon Oratorio Tangu, a Sega Saturn game.

Some ISBN’s on the way for you, check the first list; BTW do you want them just to make your listing more complete, or do you know of a place to actually get the mooks?

Also, if you’re able can you scan me the cover and table of contents of the SFZ2 mook you have? Curious to see which one it is. Thanks.

My Bad! The SNK Art Books I have are not Gamest Mooks. Anyway, here’s their ISBN #s just in case. I like Capcom Artbooks better but these are cool too.

<PERFECTION> SNK CHARACTERS ALL ABOUT ILLUSTRATIONS (Planet Publishing) ISBN4-939110-10-9

<EXTRA> SNK CHARACTERS 2 ALL ABOUT ILLUSTRATIONS (Planet Publishing) ISBN4-939110-14-1

SNK POSTERS COLLECTION (Artwork Books VC) ISBN4-89436-143-4

Here’s my side by side comparison of Capcom Early Days and Capcom Illustrations. While Early Days is supposed to be a reprint, for some reason not everything in Capcom Illustrations is in Capcom Early Days, even though Early Days has lots of new stuff. I recommend everyone get Early Days since it’s only like 20 Dollars not including shipping and handling and it’s a 200 Page Art Book. I got my copy from Tokyo Central Online relativly fast, but you may have to wait until they restock the book since last I checked it was out of stock. When I brought Capcom Illustrations when it was new back in the 90’s, it ran me around 35 to 45 Dollars! Capcom Early Days is smaller, so some of the reprinted art from Capcom Illustrations is smaller while some of it is reprinted even larger - this Ratio’s about 50/50 I’d say.

So, first I’ll list what’s new in Capcom Early Days and then I’ll list what’s missing.

WHAT’S NEW

Pic of SFZ Ryu playing against Megaman in an Arcade by Kinu Nishimura. Ken, Chun-Li, Roll and other Capcomers watch.

Shinchiro Pic of old school Capcom Characters, including the main Character of Forgotten Worlds, The Male Sonson, a Dragon (BOF Ryu?), 1941 and others.

A few more Pics of Guile, Ryu, and Chun-Li (At least the Ryu drawing is in SF Eternal. Didn’t check on the other two since going through SF Eternal to look for two random pics is hard.)

Sketchy Drawings you’ve seen before of the entire cast of SF2 including the new challengers but minus Gouki by Kinu Nishimura. These drawings appear in SF Eternal, but are grouped together as one drawing.

A Pic of CGI looking Star Gladiator Characters.

More Powered Gear Art, about 5 pages worth in total.

Lots of Cyberbots stuff. 19 Pages!!!

Akiman pick of the cast of Marvel Super Heroes.

Pur and Fur drawing by Nishizawa Akiko and a Forgotten World’s Pic by CRMK/Bengus.

Final Fight - More drawings of the random thugs you beat up and Belger.

Strider - Lots of new Strider stuff, 5 pages.

A few more Captain Commando Pics.

Forgotten Worlds - A few more drawings.

4 Pages of Ghouls & Ghosts.

Some game I’ve never heard of with a Pink Rabibit.

Cover of the Commando Game. The Drawing was used as Box Art in the US Version too. Another Pic of the Game’s Sequel. (Commando had a Sequel???) It looked a bit futuristic and the main character looks like Guile with a light green visor over one eye.

2 Pages of Tiger Road.

Goofy drawing of Top Secret.

Black Dragon Pic.

Goofy Drawing of Rush and Crush.

Drawing from a game called Mad Gear. (No, not our Mad Gear Gang! Looks like a Racing Game.)

2 Drawings from Tatakaino No Banka.

1 Page of Art from Gunsmoke.

More art from that Game with Siva and Chariot. (Chariot was a helper in MVC1, Siva was remade for Cannon Spike.) I believe the game is called Wonder3.

1 Pic from Hoemaru.

Art from Operation Thunderstorm, US Navy, Last Duel and Exed Eyes.

Art from 1941 Games.

Puzzle Fighter Drawing.

Pic from Sonson Game.

Drawings from Capcom’s Quiz Games.

2 Pages of Megaman X.

Breath of Fire has one Page with 4 Drawings.

Group Pics - Capcom Characters Jam Packed on a train, (Rolento puts the moves on Jill! Now I want them both in Capcom Fighting Evolution!) another Pic of Capcomers wearing Mardi Gras style Big Headed Uniforms (SFers and Darkstalkers), 2 drawings of lots of Capcom Characters Super Deformed, SFZ Ryu and Sakura Art, SFZ Ryu and Ken fighting, Cyber Gouki from Cyberbots (Again with Cyberbots! They might as well call it ā€œCyberbots Early Days!ā€) a new Morrigan Pic.

Sketches - Some are the same, some are gone and there’s lots more Cyberbots sketches.

SF3 Sketches - Lots of the SF3 Newbies, including one line Art of Ryu and Chun-Li looking in different directions. sano happy!

SFZ Sketches - Mostly Doll Cammy.

Some Early BAAAD sketches of what Lilith might of looked like but thanfully someone said NOOOO!

Two Pages of Powered Gear Sketches.

The book jacket has a drawing of Super Deformed SFZ Chun-Li, Ken, Ryu, Sakura and Dan wearing ā€œFestivalā€ clothes kind of like that Pic with Ryu Ken and Guy. Ken’s wearing a suit and Dan’s still rocking the Pink Gi. Someone tell him Pink’s not cool! As usual, Ryu still looks angry! Maybe he wants his Gi back…

WHAT’S MISSING

The two page spread of the Shadowloo Base with lots of text and Ryu holding Chun-Li is gone. All of these images appear in SF Eternal but they are all seperated into different images and there is no text.

The Main Dawing of the Punisher Game is still there, but the page that had drawings of the cast members seperatly is gone.

Drawings of Cadillacs and Dinosaurs are extinct.

Sketches of Belail (Morrigan’s Father) are gone.

The pages that show you how the cover was created are gone.

Interviews are gone. Not that I care since I couldn’t read them anyway…

Pics from what I THIIINK was supposed to be for the upcoming SF2 TV Anime (Originally it was supposed to take place after the Animated Movie, but at some point it was decided they would go younger, hence SF2V) are gone.

Sketches of the cast of Cammy’s CD Drama are gone.

As you can see, the new stuff FAR outweighs the missing stuff. Why it’s missing anything I dunno… I guess they just want to keep people trying to find a copy of Capcom Illustrations…

Thanks for the infos! I updated the list and I’ll add some more ISBNs I found later.

I just want to make a (english) list cause I didn’t find one and sometimes you only know the Vol.# or the ISBN and then it’s helpful to have a list of all. I don’t have a place to get them but I know a few people that have friends in Japan or are Japanese themselves (but can’t read Japanese) and so I can tell them what to bring from Japan. You can also order books (not video games) at Yahoo Japan, so I might find some there.
I’ll also add some pics of the covers soon.

Sure I’ll scan you some pics of the SFZ2 Gamest Mook tomorrow.

Ah yes, Yahoo Japan; I check Auctions there periodically for different and unusual-looking SF books. Often you’ll find them cheaply priced.

I’m glad so much is being cleared up through this thread. I’m still reading through it and I found a post about a game featuring R. Mika (I think it was by Tiamat) but nobody replied on it so I thought I’d remind you of it. The pics are still up:

Anybody?

Another thing were the judges in SFIII. Who are they? I have a drawing of Yun’s, Yang’s and Oro’s girlfriends and I think I saw them as judges in SFIII but it doesn’t happen very often that they show up so I’m not sure. Can someone tell me who the judges are and how many there are?

Not to interrupt your serious debate about Tiamat’s guide, but may I offer something about Andore’s age in relation to Andore Jr.:

I seriously doubt that Andore Jr. is the son of Andore. I think that even Andore wouldn’t be THAT old during SF3, especially considering that to have a fully grown-up son during FF1. True, that all the Andores look the same and that’s why they have age labels (Grandfather, Uncle, Jr., etc.). Since Andore Jr. is supposedly his little brother, I would think that it make much more seen that And considering they all have the same name, I think that it would make much more since that the ā€œJr.ā€ part would be akin to Andore II (Andore the Second). And considering that they all seem to have the same name, I would think that it’s possible that Jr. (put there for whatever reason. Do they even use Roman numerals in Japan? Maybe that’s why…) could even be a ā€œIVā€ or a ā€œVā€ in actuality.

…Yeah, I doubt that helped.

this site has a list of Animal Styles

http://home.stny.rr.com/iama/az.html

the Styles are.

Bear, Boar, Bull, Corba, Crane, Deer, Dragon, Eagle, Leopard, Monkey, Panther, Praying Mantis, Python, Scorpion, Snake, Tiger, Viper, White Crane.

The game R. Mika appears in is called Startling Adventure or something like that… I dunno, it’s in the guide in R. Mika’s section with what pathetic small amount of info I’ve been able to scrounge up.

Hey hey hey. Anyone remember these guys?

http://capcom.lrgames.com/

But hmm… now that I’ve had time to think about it, I applaud them for trying to keep the thing close to the canon but wonder what kind of world we live in when a company has to go to a fan-made plot guide for canon info. Hey Capcom, can’t you guys be nice enough to give your own official storyline to the people that purchase the rights to use them? O_o (note: Plot Guide not mentioned on the actual web page. I’m just reminiscing and referring about the past)

Vasili10, I just got the response to yer question from the RC webmaster and he says he’s never heard of the Official SFZ3 Fanbook. He says it probably doesn’t exist.

I figured there was no such thing (at least by that title), now to find out what book was thought to be this one. So I guess now I wait for Saiki to reply what he found from this mystery book to include in the plot guide.
Perfect…

Hey Golden Dragon, could you ask the RC webmaster one other question for me? How many books does he know of that are only about SFZ3? I know of only four: (strangely enough, you’d think there’d be more) one Gamest mook, one All About book, and two official Playstation version guides. Does he know about anymore, and if so what are they? This’ll probably be the last question to him from me because I’m fairly certain his answer will be the same as mine. Just want to be sure. Thank you sir.

Yeah, I’ll ask him for ya.

Since you are reading the entire Thread, sooner or later you will come across Posts made by me, Saiki and Golden Dragon. There are Seven Judges and each of them have their own names and seperate Bios in AAC. Yun and Yang’s girlfriends are not judges. Neither are Chun-Li, Cammy or Effie - other popular misconceptions that are wrong.

The judges are -

Anna - Looks like Cammy
Fair Libra - African American Girl
Julia - She’s wearing a horse riding outfit
Lily - Looks like Sally (Dhalsim’s wife)
Rifa - Asian one, blue dress with red flowers
Toli - Asian one, blue dress with purple flowers
Tonfa - Asian one, white dress with yellow flowers

Could someone please tell me what book states that Haggar’s mayorship ended in 1992?

I’m pretty sure that Saiki said it was in All About Capcom.

So AAC says the specific year his mayorship ended? It was 1992? Yo, aerialgroove and vasili10 both have the book, right? Could one of you guys verify that for me?
