Warriors Fate: Street Fighter story thread, revived

Yeah, same formula but I still like it. Nothing will ever beat Megaman II but oh well.

Eh, I can’t be of much help regarding ISBN numbers because I really don’t own much of the sources. People call me a leading authority but nearly ALL of my knowledge and substance comes from other people, really.

Oh yea, Golden Dragon, that long post looks… good? I’ll put it in the next update, but I’m a bit confused about the Andore part though (IE, did Capcom REALLY say he was Andore? …is Andore Jr. his son or younger brother or something? Since Hugo if he were old enough in Final Fight One to be a father of a son as old as Andore Jr. would be like… super old in SF3. Course, if even GRANDPA Andore can still fight in Final Fight 2…)

And that’s all the more reason to be as specific with things as possible. Your large rant you’ve posted towards the end of the guide as well as various other points throughout show that you’re serious about the validity of your work, and no one wants to support you more than me. However, it’s different when someone who doesn’t know Japanese or someone who knows asks you concerning the guide because he believes something’s a bunch of whooey; and someone who can read the language yet still questions because of ambiguities. Bottom line, he who wants to defend vigorously should also be prepared to explain vigorously. Aka consider the following for the next update:

I’ll let the issue of Zangief stated as gay in the SF2 Fanbook slide, not because I’ve found it, but because it’s confirmed later on in SFZ3 with his quotes.

Ojou-san witnessing her father’s battle with Gouki and then vanishing, Vega with two other students of Psycho Power, these two statements you say in the guide that they can only be found in ooold sources. The oldest book in your source list is the SF2 Fanbook; I haven’t found either in there. So until someone confirms where they are, you need to revise some stuff, possibly add more (older) source books to the list, especially since for statements from Capcom employees you said they’re only to confirm stuff from the books, not ask for new info. So, directly or indirectly through various other contributors, everything should be from published material.

Official Street Fighter Zero 3 Fanbook: perhaps the biggest mystery the plot guide has to offer. No one seems to know about it, and no one else seems to care, except that Saiki’s said to me extremely vague info such as its year of publishing (1998) and its publisher (Shogakukan) and label (WonderLife, the same as the SF2 Fanbook) which I have not been able to find such a book for almost an entire year now. Oh yeah, he also said the copy he used was a friend’s that had the cover ripped off so he doesn’t know the title or ISBN, and he hasn’t been able track down either after at least 4 months. I was easily able to locate a book 5 years older by the same label and publisher but not one that’s newer and should be somewhat more well-known to the fan community because it’s ā€œofficialā€. Explain it to me folks.

Like I’ve said before, need any help with book info let me know and I’ll do my best. I’ve told Golden Dragon I’ve got a probable list of books to get that I’ve deemed as candidates for plot guide info that I can share with anyone who wants to know. I hope Red Cyclone’s webmaster can shed some light on these things, and I hope more ā€œauthoritiesā€ will stop ignoring and speak up soon.

IF Hugo is any of the Andores, he’s Andore, not Andore Jr. Andore Jr. is supposed to be Andore’s younger brother. The SF 15th anniversary book says Andore & Hugo are the same guy, right?

Tiamat, in the FAQ you said, ā€œShadaloo must have created Cammy as a baby and watched her grow or something. Or maybe they infused her mother with Bison’s DNAā€. Wasn’t Cammy kidnapped by Shadaloo as a kid?

-

Is there a list of official Street Fighter books and gamest mooks with ISBN numbers or can someone make one (or all of us together)?

To Golden Dragon
Did you ask the Red Cyclone guy about the pics (see 146 if this thread)?

Yeah, the red cyclone webmaster said he got the pics from the Final Fight guide book. I’m guessing he meant the instruction booklet. Vasili10, I’m still waiting for his response to your question, so don’t think I’ve forgotten about ya.

Thanks Golden Dragon.

BTW sano, I saw you got your copy of Capcom Design Works:The Early Years recently. Any early art in there worth mentioning?

Andore Jr. is the younger brother? Ah, that would make a lot more sense, then.

Saiki stated that Street Fighter Eternal (that’s the 15th anniversary book you’re talking about, right?) said that Hugo was ā€œoriginally from Final Fight, but didn’t say that he was specifically Andore.ā€

Unlike the other Dolls, Cammy wasn’t kidnapped then brainwashed. This is why her birth place is listed as ā€œ???ā€ while all the other Dolls have stated birthplaces and why she’s stated to be a clone while none of the other Dolls are (unlike what Stefan says, I don’t think even Capcom would make the mistake of saying someone is a clone if that someone really only had a DNA infusion as opposed to actually consisted of that DNA). I’m pretty sure Saiki was the one to originally point it out, although the evidence gathering I did, myself. Although it’d be kinda funny if Cammy were kidnapped like the others, because then you’d have an ongoing character who’s storyline is based upon losing her memory twice and not just once :stuck_out_tongue: Well, at any rate, since Cammy has an official age, then that means that whatever method Shadaloo used to create her, she didn’t start out grown up.

I could have sworn Saiki mentioned some other source or something… I don’t recall him saying that stuff about Vega with the two other students and Gouken’s daughter seeing the fight were in the SF2 fanbook. Just the Zangief being gay part. I wouldn’t mind asking him where whatever is, but he seems to like, not be around very much at the (rather long) moment. Guess I’d better put the next update on hold until I can sort some of this out.

Gamest Mooks

Don’t know if anybody cares but I made a list of all Games Mooks I could find, if you know any others please let me know, thanks.

http://fightingstreet.com/folders/variousinfofolder/gamestmook/gamestmookpage.html

vasili10 - The book doesn’t have anything new on SF that’s not in SF Eternal, unless you count group pictures with other Capcomers. The book has really old stuff missing from Capcom Illustrations like lots of Strider 1 stuff, Final Fight 1 stuff some Megaman X stuff (MMX is not that old! Hmmm…) and for some reason there’s TONS of Cyberbots stuff. I’ll do a side by side comparison of the two books since Capcom Early Days is basically a reprint of Capcom Illustrations. And much like Capcom Design Works, it’s really easy for non Japanese readers to know which artist drew what. You have to go to the back of the book to look at the image Posted under the drawing and read the name in English.

Off hand, the book is smaller than Capcom Illustrations so pages that had images on one page are now divided up into two or more pages in Early Days.

Gamest Mooks

You are missing the Street Fighter Zero 3 Mook from Gamest. I’ll tell you what number it is when I get a free minute along with the ISBN.

I have the above, Capcom Illustrations, SNK Illustrations (I believe there are two SNK Illustration Mooks. I’ll double check that as well.) and the SF3 Fan Book.

If you want Cyberbots art I recommend the Gamest Cyberbots artbook (GM vol. 20). It has large pages and lot’s of large one or two page pics. In Capcom Design Works and Illustration (Gamest Mook 17) there are only about 2 or 3 pics togheter that are not in the Cyberbots Artbook.

To Tiamat
Yeah, SF eternal’s the book I’m referring to. My bad. I forgot the name of it. Yeah, well the red cylclone webmaster said Hugo & Andore are the same guy according to SF Eternal. The book probably worded it the way Saiki says and the webmaster from RC probably assumed that they were referring to Andore specifically. Which other Andore would he be? Wasn’t Andore the one in the pink outfit in FF1? Wouldn’t it be safe to assume that Hugo is Andore?
Btw, Father Andore is the one in the yellow outfit.

Yea, Hugo’s default colors are the same as Andore’s, not Andore Jr.ā€˜s. I just thought that Andore was Andore Jr’s father which made me think the ages didn’t work out too well. But brother probably makes more sense, since there’s already a Father Andore and an Uncle Andore so if Andore himself would make a father, that would make Grandpa Andore a GREAT Grandfather which would be like, super old  Guess I should have figured that out sooner. I figured Red Cyclone made the assumption from SF Eternal’s stating that Hugo was from Final Fight, too. It’s a logical enough assumption, though, I think. Both Saiki and Dash no Chris said that Hugo wasn’t Andore, however, the truth of the matter is that I’m not sure if Capcom has actually ever stated he wasn’t so much as had Hugo and Andore have separate bios in All About Capcom, and that honestly doesn’t really amount to much since AAC has Shin Akuma and Akuma haven’t separate bios and they’re the same person (this is also why I’m not sure about claims that Mike isn’t Mike Bison just because they have separate bios in AAC, although AAC does say something about M. Bison in Mike’s bio but I don’t think anyones’ ever told me what, exactly)

Of course, there is the little thing about Hugo’s official measurements being different from Andore’s, but maybe that’s an oversight on Capcom’s fault considering that SF3 characters in general aren’t supposed to have official measurements in the first place.

Gamest Mooks

This Japanese page lists a more complete set of the 190 plus Gamest mooks, and the page is part of a larger site with lists of just about any video game-related published material:

http://www5b.biglobe.ne.jp/~tv_game/5_gmook.htm

This page lists most or all 260 plus issues of Gamest Magazine, in which some overlapped with other series released by Shinseisha including Gamest mooks, Gamest World, Comics Gamest, etc.:

http://www.netlaputa.ne.jp/~dummy/mest-index.html

I can help you with picking out the SF mooks out of the pack. Let me know. You said in your site you need someone to help you translate. Do you have any SF mooks now?

Plus CAPCOM is ALWAYS changing official character measurements. Take the SF2 series cast for example. Compare their official measurements from SF2 to their stats from SFA and you’ll see that a lot of them have been altered. It’s the same thing With Cody, Maki, and maybe even Rolento. Compare their official measurements from FF1 (or FF2, in Maki’s case) to their official measurements according to SFA3.

I just luv those Games Mooks really make me want to learn Japanese. Yeah well thanks for the link but I can’t read Japanese that’s the problem so I wanted to make an english list. I found some sites like that one too but like Sodom I’m just not Japanese so they are useless for me, sniff. I also try to add ISBN numbers. I’ll add anything to the list you tell me.

Right now I have the SFZ2 gamest mook and the Cyberbots artbook (I think it’s GM vol. 20) and I think one more, not sure which of them are real Gamest Mooks, gotta check that. Oh and of course the Capcom Illustrations (#17).

Would be great if you could point out the Street Fighter and related Gamest Mooks. Thanks a lot!

Alright folks, some clear-ups from AAC:

-Goutetsu was murdered 20 years before SSF2X, not the Zero/Alpha series. Gouki’s mentioned to be around 48 in SSF2X, so he’s around 28 when he kills Goutetsu.

-Vega’s master at the time was the only Psycho Power user, and Vega and two other students were taught. AAC actually says this, so Capcom’s not really forgotten about this fact as previously thought. However, I haven’t found that Vega killed his master and went on a rampage, but Japanese fansites have mentioned this instead so possible speculation. Anyway, he was with two other students.

Still checking, but possible evidence of Ojou-san in AAC. More on this later.

Dude, u have AAC? Since when?

Plus, I have some new info on Super Muscle Bomber - The International Blowout.

Lucky Colt/Gunloc hit on Jessica, so Haggar scolded him. Judging by that picture in the SMB promotional poster, Haggar kicked his ass as well.

The Wraith didn’t feed his pet snake, so the snake abandoned him during a match.

Victor Ortega and ā€œMissing IQā€ Gomes fought. Everyone expected Ortega to win. However, Gomes defeated him w/ the help of his monkey.

EDIT - Here’s the official/revised Muscle Bomber storyline/plot.

Prologue
In the early 90s, professional wrestling became very popular and gained worldwide recognition. Various organizations were started all over the world. Eight of the organizations that remained consistent over the years united to form one wrestling organization/federation. It was named the CWA (CAPCOM WRESTLING ASSOCIATION).

Game Story
The 1980s. During the unprecedented professional wrestling boom, many professional wrestling organizations were started all over the world. A severe rivalry existed among the organizations.
In order to resolve this conflict, 8 organizations combined to form the CWA, led by Victor Ortega, the CWAs founder and first champion
One day, Ortega suddenly vanished. Ortega was basically the glue that held everything together and his unexpected disappearance caused the CWA to enter an age of confusion and disorder. The BWA, an illegal underground wrestling organization, chose to take advantage of this opportunity and began moving. The CWA chief executives decided to organize/ hold a world tour called the crash carnival, to decide the new king of the CWA.
The gong which determines the new Master of Muscle Bomber is sounded

The Muscle Bomber Series has three chapters/stagesin its’ storyline:

  1. Muscle Bomber
    The ā€œCrash Carnivalā€ World Tour

  2. Muscle Bomber Duo - Ultimate Team Battle
    The Team Battle Royal

  3. Super Muscle Bomber - The International Blowout
    A 3 Round KO match system is set up (gameplay-wise & storyline-wise).

Muscle Bomber and Muscle Bomber Duo take place in the same year and Super Muscle Bomber takes place a year later.

Super Muscle Bomber’s story:
ā€œOne year has passed since the warm-up contest to decide who would enter the Team Battle Royal as Number One. With eyes set on the title of Master of Muscle Bomber, all contestants have been training even harder, honing their technique, and practicing new deadly skills.ā€

The ā€œwarm-up contestā€ was probably Muscle Bomber.
