Warriors Fate: Street Fighter story thread, revived

Umm. It’s not been confirmed but it is EXETREMELY likely that Urien and Gill are the two the that trained with Bison.

Regarding Chun-Li leaving the ICPO - At first I thought Chun-Li’s ending in SF2 Revival indicated that she remained a detective, so I double checked it last night. She says something like-

“Father, you can rest now… but for me the fight is never over.”

Now naturally, I assumed she meant fighting crime, but maybe she means the actual “fight” as in fighting/training/perfecting Martial Arts.

I’m assuming she was referring to a combination of both.

Perfecting her style and continueing the fight against evil.

OK I know about Eagle, but Gief  ??? Tiamat said something about Zangief being gay too. What’s up with that?

Oh yeah, and sdomebody go throught the Rose/Bison thing again please.

How so? When/Where has this even been hinted at? I think I’ve seen one person suggest this in the entire 1000 plus 200+ thread, and now all of a sudden is “EXTREMELY likely”? Nonsense. This is pure speculation. As has been mentioned, Capcom has likely forgotten about those other two that trained with BIson. Maybe we’ll see them in SF4 (I wouldn’t mind), but I think if Urien/Gill had a connection to Bison at all, we would have heard of it by now.

To Agent Guile:

Your outline has potential, but I have some qualms about it. First of all, SF4 should and most likely would be a tournament, meaning that there would be one consistent last boss for every character. Maybe certain characters would have additional bosses after the last one for their own storyline purposes, but there should definitely be a main target who needs to be beaten in order for the person to win the tournament. In addition, I want to have to face multiple bosses a la SF2, at least 4, each one harder than the last. Didn’t anyone like this from SF2? Wasn’t anyone else disappointed that SF3 only had the one boss? I know I did/was.

Also, I don’t see why Gill has his organizatio needs to be killed by these guys (presumeably before the tournament even starts). Why waste a perfectly good character in such an ignominious fashion? Hell, make Gill a playable character (probably considerably toned down, or maybe put him in the home versions as overpowered as his 3S self), entering the tournament to find out who these 3 beings are who are interfering with his holy mission or some such crap. The more the merrier says I.

Furthermore, I think Akuma is best in his “hidden boss” mode, who need special conditions to order to fight at the end. Why mess with a good thing? Note that he needn’t be a hidden character, just a hidden boss (kinda like Q in 3S).

I LOVE the four bosses thing that SF2 had. Made me giddy with glee back when I was a lil’ SF newbie. It was like, OMG! I finally beat Vega (Spaniard)! But shoot! Now there’s an even harder boss! Then another one! WHOA!

KOF only has two bosses per game, and SFA3 only had two special bosses tops (of which the first, Juli & Juni or Balrog, was insanely easy, really. Yea, J&J are REALLY hard to beat in Boss Survival mode, but not in Arcade mode where they’re literally punching bags. Heh, Bison himself is easy too, but only after you figure out his pattern). How… bleh. :bluu:

Anyway, yea, I’d personally be surprised if Gill and Urien were the ones that Vega/M.Bison trained with, for the sheer fact that Capcom most likely forgot about that fact. Course… Ken probably fighting Akuma before yet Capcom forgetting that Gouken had a daughter is kind of confusing, too. Blarg…

I was just referring to Saiki’s speculation that Urien and Gill were the other two students. I agree it’s likely that Capcom has forgotten about those two students.

Still it’s easy to speculate given the number of similarties they share.

  1. Some form of Immortality via Body swapping.

  2. Ablity to ‘create’ new bodies.

3.Access to technology that is FAR more advanced then it should be.

4.Access to seemingly limitless amounts of power with relative ease.

5.Backing a large, well funded, well organized, POWERFUL, worldwide SECRET organization.

I don’t think Capcom intended for Gill or Urien to be the students that trained with Vega. But, it’s something they could ‘retcon’ into happening with a minium existence.

rose / bison: i’ll do my best…

many years ago, bison when bison first gained his psycho power, his soul split in half. the bad half stayed in bison’s body. the good half somehow ended up in the infant Rose (which explains why she’s so much younger). somehow, rose learned of her destiny (tiamat mentioned that there is no ‘group’ that sent her) and she makes up her mind to destroy bison, even though she knows she will die (see dialogue with guy, dhalsim, etc.)

anyway, on that fateful night that everyone in the cast fights bison, rose approaches him, but bison distracts her by sending the dolls against her. she wins, and when she sees bison again, she punctures his chest with a soul spiral, and she assumed that would be the end of both of them. if you destroy half of a soul the other half goes too, i guess

however, bison countered the move, and in the process, his bad half invaded her body. so rose’s body had the COMPLETE soul in it. later, shadowloo scientists were able to transfer the complete soul to another body (the slim bison). but in the meantime, rose was in charge of shadowloo (there’s a drawing of her holding bison’s hat on her page on www.gamegen.com–that’s actually bison in rose’s body).

this explains why SF2 bison was so much weaker than SFA bison: he slim bison had the good half in it. the psycho power relies on negative emotions. thus, the presence of the good half weakened the psycho power dramatically.

after the transfer, no one knows what happened to rose’s body, but the soul (both halves) were sent to hell when akuma SGS’ed bison.

my favorite aspect of the story is when guy holds rose’s limp body after bison ‘kills’ her, and guy thinks that bison is gone forever, but a cold chill runs through his body… too cool.

I was looking at Chun-Li’s bio today and I just remembered something.

Why won’t Chun-Li ever tell her weight?

Because Chun-Li is female. :stuck_out_tongue:

I believe like, 90% of the SNK female character bios have them not telling their weight. It’s something that girls typically are sensitive about, you know?

Same thing with their age.

So she’s sensitive about her weight despite the fact that she obviously gains more of it in her legs by SF3?

Odd.

Chun-li’s weight is 101 (or 100) lbs. That’s according to her semi-official physical stats in the English system.

Capcom Japan obviously uses the metric system, but possibly at one time, they also considered the ones in English system (possibly created by Capcom USA) as official, without realizing its inconsitencies with the more established metric system version.

edit: testing sig

Hey does anyone know who fought who in the SF1, SF2, and SF3 tourney(and I mean all characters that participated in the tourney)

In Capcom’s Heavy Metal Geomatrix for Dreamcast there is a character named Phantom. He has pointy ears like Gouki and similar red hair. He starts off every fight by saying, “You will feel my murderous intent!” Murderous intent? As in Killing Intent/Satsui? The similarities between him and Gouki end there, and since the entire cast of Heavy Metal Geomatrix was created by Kevin Eastman and Simon Bisley, I wonder if this is a silent “nod” to Gouki or just a coincidence? Oh well, it’s a funny coincidence either way.

SF1
joe
mike / balrog
ryu (winner)
retsu
adon
sagat (boss)
birdie
eagle

lee
geki
NOT ken

SF2
ryu
ken
honda
chun-li (winner?)
blanka
guile (winner?)
zangief
dhalsim
balrog
vega
sagat
bison (boss)
cammy
DJ
fei-long
t. hawk
NOT akuma

SF3
remy
urien
ibuki
ken
ryu
dudley
sean
alex (winner)
yun
yang
oro
necro
hugo
elena
gill (boss)
NOT akuma
NOT makoto
NOT 12
NOT q
NOT chun-li

Okay Now I’ve got the participants in tournies down, all I have to do is deduce who fought who in the tourney:

note that the SF3 tourney was doublee impact, and some characters in DI didnt participate in this tourney for reasons:

Akuma: perfecting a new attack
Urien: trying to overthrow Gill

SF3

ibuki
ken
ryu
dudley
sean
alex
yun
yang
oro
necro
hugo
elena

since theres only 12 people who participated in this tourney, there must’ve been 4 rounds, and one person(I assume Alex must’ve had a bye round(in round 3)

heres how round 1 went:

Hugo vs. Ryu(ryu wins)
ken vs sean(ken wins)
Oro vs ???(Oro wins)
Alex vs ???(Alex wins)
??? vs ???
??? vs ???

round 2:

Ryu vs Ken(Ryu wins)
Oro vs ???(Oro wins)
Alex vs ???(Alex wins)

semi-finals:

Oro vs Ryu(Oro wins)
Alex gets a bye round

finals(determins who faces Gill:

Alex vs Oro(Alex wins by DQ)

Yun and Yang probably fought in the tourney, but it has to be in round 1 or 2, since Yang in third strike comments to Yun that he wasn’t the fighter he was before…

tarkanX: you’re probably right about urien not being in the tournament, but can anyone else confirm this? if someone like tiamat says urien wasn’t in the SF3 tournament then i’ll edit my post

Just thought that I’d mention this:
I wouldn’t list Ryu and Hugo as a definate first round match up quite yet. We all know that Ryu has fought Hugo, but there is no guarantee that it was during the third tournament. Saiki mentioned that Hugo had performed better than expected in the tourney, so a first round loss may be unlikely. Also, 3s shows that Hugo and Alex have a rivalry, couldn’t that be related to the third tourney in some way? Not that it means anything, but Alex is also seen facing off against Hugo in the 2i intro. Food for thought.
