Warriors Fate: Street Fighter story thread, revived

Okay, I deleted it. And I’m going to repost it here, for posterity.

Cool! It seems to work. Sieg, delete that last post of yours and repost it - it’s messing up the thread! :stuck_out_tongue:

Okay, back on topic: What moves do Goutetsu and Gouken officially know? I figure they at least know the Hadouken, the Shoryuken, the Tatsumaki Senpuukyaku and the Shun Goku Satsu. But if they were to fight, would they use these versions as we know them, or would they use Akuma’s Gou Hadouken/Shoryuken and Tatsumaki Zankuukyaku? And do Gouken and Goutetsu know moves like the Messatsu Go whatever moves? I seem to recall earlier in this thread that Goutetsu was going to use a Messatsu Go Hadouken on Akuma before Akuma slapped the SGS on him, but I’m not sure.

Basically what I want to know is if these two characters were to put in a fighting game (don’t ask), what moves would they know of the shoto moves that we are familiar with, and what versions?

Difficult to say... both definitely would have the ability to use the four moves to at least match if not surpass Gouki's potential. And most likely Goutetsu would be less hesitant to utilize the moves with a killing intent than Gouken.

They may or may not. Moves designated as super combos often are unique to the individual and I feel are less likely to be taught to successors of the art as opposed to the individual learning them through sheer persverence and dedication. Examples include Ryu's shinkuutatsumaki senpuukyaku, Ken's shinryuken, and Gouki's kongou kokoretsu zan. As for Goutetsu and Gouki's battle, yes it's true that earlier in the thread Tiamat mentioned that Roland Kie found out from the SFZ Gamest mook that flames emerged from Goutetsu's cupped hands before Gouki grabbed him with the shun goku satsu. So I don't know if that can be extrapolated to a messatsu gou hadou or not. Anybody have this mook and can confirm this stuff?

If either of them would be put into a game, they would probably know hadouken, shoryuken, tatsumaki senpuukyaku and shun goku satsu. Maybe even zankuu hadouken. Gouken's move (hissatsuwaza) versions would more likely be similar to Gouki's in terms of speed and power and similar supers also, while Goutetsu might also know ashurasenku and other satsui no hadou-unique moves including messatsu supers but without as much of Gouki's ferocity, translating to reduced speed and/or power for gaming purposes. Bottom line, I feel that storyline-wise Goutetsu and Gouki would be on the same tier comparison as game-wise regular Gouki and Shin Gouki from the SFZ series respectively. In other words, Goutetsu is to regular Gouki as Gouki is to Shin Gouki. Gouken on the other hand, would more likely match the SFZ's Shin Gouki in speed and power but without any satsui no hadou enhancement, much like Ryu by the SF3 series; older and wiser with more power in regular moves. If Gouken would have supers similar to Gouki's, they would probably have alternate names so as not to indicate violence or anything demonic, but they would be just as powerful like Ryu's shin shoryuken in the SF3 series.

Haggar’s move list.

Wrestling Throw
Body Press
Suplex
Back Flip Drop
Spinning Piledriver
Spinning Cloathsline
Violent Axe
(SUPER) Final Hammer

Sagatryu:

Er, what game is that from? Also, who asked for Haggar? :stuck_out_tongue:

I sorta agree with what you’re saying. The way I see it, Gouken is equivalent to an advanced Ryu - equivalent to [Shin] Gouki, but with his own unique moves in addition to the 4 standard ones.

Gotetsu, on the other hand, I see as only having the original 4 moves he developed, but really powerful versions of them. His specials would do as much or even more damage than most other characters supers. To balance him out from a gameplay standpoint, he would take damage like Shin Gouki does in CvS2, and his specials would actually be pretty crappy (think Ryu/Ken in SF2:WW) except for the vast damage that they inflict. :stuck_out_tongue:

Final Fight 3

Yeah, that’s another reasonable way to look at them; sorry, I tend to get wordy when I’m thinking and typing at the same time.

It being April Fool’s Day today and all, it’s a good day to mention this.

In Electronic Gaming Monthly’s Recent May 2004 issue which marks the Magazine’s 15th Anniversary, they gave themselves a well deserved pat on the back for aiding in the creation of Gouki.

“Our best April Fool’s Gag: April 1992, EGM #33

“EGM’s most infamous - and to some readers, most aggravating - April Fool’s prank promised to pit Street Fighter II players against series mainstays Ken and Ryu’s purported mentor, Sheng Long. We figured some chumps would waste their change trying to fulfill the insanely tough challenge we cooked up, but we never imagined the joke might one day lead developer Capcom to create the suspiciously Sheng Long-like character Akuma. The phony Mr. Long returned in an updated joke for Street Fighter III years later.”

that was fucking gold , that shen long as hidden character in sf3 , it was 6 years later then i realized that was an april fool joke … i realized that in the year 2002

to sano and fan-fic readers …

hey sano-kun , i have CFAS fan-fic from snowstorm …
read http://pub103.ezboard.com/frsnetworkfrm8.showMessage?topicID=102.topic

odd thing was , here’s some summary … snowstorm did a good start … batsu and akira came to metrocity together …
and helluva lot’s of unnecessary biasness … and later on
http://pub103.ezboard.com/frsnetworkfrm8.showMessage?topicID=102.topic

and not to forgot CFAS review by highervoltage , it is 90% unbias … http://highervoltage.net/mb/showthread.php?threadid=8368

Yeah Sagatryu, why’d you post Haggar’s movelist?? That was random.

…you do realize that Higher Voltage’s review was an April Fools joke, right?

…i thought , the poison CFA theme song was the fool ?

If it weren’t obvious from the date, there are a number of things that Gavok left out that shows that it’s fake - like being wrong about the super system and totally leaving out the FATALITY system, two things which were well known early about the game.

:frowning:

Umm… She’ll prolly do do a better job of dealing with the RS Characters then I did in my CFAS Fan Fic but I’m scared to read since she foolishly thinks Batsu is stronger then Ryu and on top of that, thinks CD Dramas are official and is even crazier than I am… Maybe I’ll print it out and read it later, thanks!

Small/Pointless SF Factoid of the week - I just picked up Onimusha Blade Warriors. All the characters so far seem to have similar Moves, and all have an Uppercut Manuever performed by Moving the control stick up and hitting the Attack Button, and a Fireball Move made by pressing down the attack button to charge for a few seconds and moving forward. What’s cool is that in the Move Lists. The Uppercut is called a “Shoryuken” and the Projectile is called a “Hadoken!”

It’s a fun game, kind of like a mix between Power Stone and Smash Brothers. All the Characters have storylines, but everyone gets the same generic ending. What’s incredibly bizarre is that Samanosuke and Jubei meet and fight each other in the Intro to the game and fight again during the ending credits, but in there own storylines the two never meet, only hear about the other character’s accomplishments and fight each other’s villains. Hey, the game itself works better in continuity then the beggining and ending do with the two actually not meeting, and that’s hella wild! Not that it matters, as the creators stated the game is out of continuity.

I just unlocked Megaman Exe and that was fun! Now, time to unlock Zero…

thedude.com - Thanks again for the Link to Snowstorm’s Fan Fic! It was a good read, and I see she had to deal with the same problem I had to deal with, explaining what the heck Rival Schools Characters are doing in Metro City. I wasn’t crazy about Akira being stronger than Ryu, Haggar and Alex though, but hey, it’s Snowstorm. I’m not even sure why anyone would bother writing a CFAS Fan Fic if they don’t like all the characters or most of them to a certain degree.

While she posseses greater writing skills than I do, I still like my CFAS Fan Fic better because I wrote it, dedicated it to everybody on this Thread, (If you hate it don’t take that as an insult!) I actually finished it putting me ahead of 70% of Online Fan Fic writers, I gave everybody in the game a chance to shine unlike Snowstorm, if you don’t like my Fic you can skip ahead to the bad reviews I got on the last page and best of all, I can shamelessly plug it like this - WABAM!

i hope you share us what she wrote about alex and other characters cast , especially what’s her idea of ryu in CFAS …

and i really Liked your D.D’s characteristic … than snowstorm’s

again , snowstorm did a good shit with CFAS … because she understand about RS characters …and she made a good motive about the storyline etc etc bla bla …
but still sucks , she’s mean towards other characters … i mean the whole cast has nothing to play or sort .,…

alex VS Rs-duo ? what would edge yamada gonna think ??
me say alex could had own them …

i strongly suggest that you re-write your CFAS fan fic … since we had the info , you need some fix i think …

Thanks! I wish I had time to re-write it, but it’s really time consuming and I realized later on that I got lots of things wrong like the 3 New Character’s Moves and what Death really looked like but in my imagination I figured, “Ah, the game is canceled” so anything goes.

And I can have all the info on RS in the world, but until I Finish playing RS1 and get a copy of RS2 I still don’t think I’ll do the characters Justice. Being the Capcom Junkie I am, I knew all the other characters well enough even the extras I threw in. The good thing about me writing the Fic was to learn Akira’s Moves I actually brought RS1, and it’s now my favorite 3D Fighter!
