Warriors Fate: Street Fighter story thread, revived

romeo and juliet ?? this is what i called fantasy … like kyosuke and hyo …

The environment kind of reminds me of Mr. Freeze’s story.

I don’t know Dash no Chris’s e-mail. Elusive fellow, he is.

Rats…“Will no one help me?” (sorry, had to say it, all too appropriate):frowning:

projectr@wizard.com

Try that one, but he didn’t reply when I tried a year ago…

Yeah, I thought I saw that one for him a while ago from somewhere. Anyway, I’ll try now. Thanks Siegfried.

Hey, havnt made post here in quite awhile, but anways was reading over the thread and had some comments.

UGH!

That sucks. Something that couldve been so cool, and added to the storyline of two characters that need more to their storyline, was ditched, for apparently no reason (idiots) Ive always thought that the Ryu/Makoto thing was one of the worse decsisions they made, ie cutting it.

And its not like it wouldve been “Oh brother/sister, Im so glad to finaly found you, let us never be apart again!” type of deal, but rather very instresting, because Makoto is very prideful and thinks she can beat everybody, where as Ryu is the exact opposite, and it would been cool to have Ryu beat her, to knock her down a peg, but at the sametime would make her aspire to become a better person and better fighter.

Although from what I found out, the change happend sometime into to production, because their pre-fight dialogue was about them being brother and sister, but instead of changing the program to remove the pre-fight dialogue they simply changed the text in it. I also heard their endings were changed as well, ie they were already done, but then changed later on.

Man, that is freaking cool.

At first I thought Manabu may have been Bengus, but after looking at his credits it was obviously clear they were not one and the same.

Im suprised he makes no mention of the two real life fighters that Ryu and Sagat were based off.

I was thinking the exact samething, but the statement given is basicly the sameone given when asked “Why does Ken dye his hair?” and he does it to make himself seem/feel/look more American (notice in SF1 all the American white males have blonde hair)

Ive heard Remy’s design came from two places basicly

  1. He’s Akiman’s SNK tribute char

&

  1. He’s a diffrient adaption of Necro’s human design (which Akiman apparently drew when creating Necro)

And Sano I believe it was you who told me that there’s a manga that shows Necro’s human form, as well as a manga that shows Akuma’s younger self, and I believe that the artist(s) who did them must have seen those rare Capcom sketches of the human Necro and young Akuma.

Ah yes the teenagers, and given that the RS series takes place after the SF3 series, them being in RS3/PJ2 is entirely possible. Lets see if I can remember all of em

Sean
Ibuki
Elena
Makoto
Remy
Yun
Yang
Eiffie?

Man, you throw them in there with the cast of PJ, and some new chars, it probaly be the second biggest 3D game cast next to Tekken Tag Tournament. Plus lets not forget it FINALY tie SF and RS together officialy.

SF4 Info -

  • The game has been in pre-production since 2001
  • It will be released 2007-2008
  • It will be 2D
  • Ryu will be the only (classic) character to return (classic = anyone who first appeared before SF3)

Those are basicly the only facts that have been stated, either in interviews, or from books, or from word of mouth (of Capcom employees)

Capcom has apparently written several diffrient plots for the game, all of which are very similar to one another, and all of which apparently inolve The Illuminati. The one that Ive heard about is about “the day of reckoning” which obviously comes early, but someone from within the illuminati is trying to make sure that it happens and all is lost. Gill apparently gets almost completely stripped of his powers, so that he can be a balanced member of the cast, and go up against the all new boss who is behind the whole reckoning thing (which isnt Urien if thats what you were thinking)

Im guessing by the end of it Gill will sacrafice himself for the greater good of humanity, and Alex will become the new leader of the Illuminati, although Gill’s soul is immortal, so that shots that theory all to hell I guess.

Also expect the game to take place around 2007-2008, given that all the other numerical SF games take place around the time they were released.

Oh yeah check it out, its Gill’s son Jeda ‘:D’

the reference for twelve …

people though about twelve was the t1000 or t5000 etc etc …

no , for me…
it was like the evangelion movie …the eva-05 ?? the winged eva and clones too … it will not die wether it was slashed to pieces …

and twelve also has that power too , recovery …

and he is also has ultra-man’s look !!! look at the mouth ! it’s obvious … it just that twelve has a bigger head …and mouth …except the eyes …SO !!

ultra-man + eva-05 + terminator + necro = twelve …

yeah ! TAS is true …capcom took some evangelion ideas … and jojo’s bizarre adventure !!

edit : i would ask manabu takamura , as someone mentioned ryu as selfish and dishonorable … what he gonna say ??

Akiman, Twelve’s designer said has said that 12 was inspired by the T1000 from Terminator 2, along with that of an alien from outer space, so he basicly just designed a space alien that could do the things the T1000 could (Akiman & Kinu werent very creative when it came to the SF3 designs)

ok…~~ that space alien is some how familiar …

If RS really takes place in 1999 like you said it did, Ibuki and co would be too old for it. You graduate from Highschool in Japan at the end of age 16, and that’s everyones’ ages in 1998 during Third Strike at the very least. Ibuki in her ending is in a university, already.

I’m kinda skeptical about Capcom developing SF4 since 2001. I mean, who the heck is insane enough to set a development time that lasts seven years? No sane videogame business man would ever do that to my knowledge. The game will be obsolete halfway through its development, considering that that’s almost as much time as the Neo-Geo’s entire life span! Also, I could have sworn Saiki stated that SF Eternal stated that there was no SF in the works at the moment. I do know that SF Eternal stated “at best” that we’d get one in 2008, but saying “at best” implies even that is far from being set in stone. And Udoneko has shown in the SF comic forum that he hasn’t heard of any Street Fighter in development, that he doesn’t think one will be made, and that Capcom is very pessimistic about 2D fighters’ success potential in general, now. This all makes it very hard for me to believe that information about SF4’s release and development…

Pretty well-drawn pic. But aw, Juli and Juni’s outfit isn’t the same without the pants! …and Juni’s breasts are bigger than Juli’s

RS has universities, but only one has shown up with only one playable character, so more could show up in RS3.

SF4 has only been in pre-production since 2001 (or 2002, I forget which) I forget which show it was (probaly E3) in which an employee said they had been tossing around ideas for SF4, and going over concpets, and things of that sort, ie pre-production.

It has a on again off again pre-production. Basicly they do work on it when they can, or when there is time to. Now obviously the actual production is a ways off.

Also arent you kind of wondering what Capcom’s Fighting Game Division has been doing all this time?

JoJo’s Bizzare Adventure 2 - Canceled
Capcom Fighting All Stars - Canceld
Onimusha: Blade Warriors - 3/23/2004
Sammy Vs Capcom - TBA
Untitled Cel Shaded Fighter - TBA
Untitled 3D Fighter - TBA

Only some Capcom team members are working on Sammy Vs Capcom, which only leaves the two other games, but from the looks of it, it will be quite awhile before we ever see an all new decent fighting game from Capcom.

All of Capcom’s other departments seem to be busy as hell.

I always figured they both had the same measurements, becasue of how similar they were, ie for chars they dont seem to go very indepth with storywise they will still asign them bust sizes.

I think the university character was practically a special case. In fact, I’d wager to say that (had things not gone wrong, of course) the RS series was supposed to be a trilogy, since the way things are set, everyone will graduate after the third year for the most part with the exception of Kurow, and he’s a villain so he doesn’t really count. University characters will thus end up being out of place when everyone else is supposed to be still in high school. There could be a couple, but a whole bunch of university characters randomly showing up (and them all being SF3ers, no less) would be kind of blatant.

Juli’s bust size is actually bigger than Juni’s by a significant margin. In fact, it’s the second largest bust size of all the teenage girls Capcom’s ever given measurements for to my knowledge (Tiffany’s the largest). Juni, meanwhile, is about equal to Cammy. I thought this was always obvious from the official artwork of the two. The sprites, of course, are exactly the same, but that’s because Capcom’s lazy :stuck_out_tongue:

I think Capcom really ended up not intending to produce an SF4 at all, but things like the success of the comic, anniversary edition, and these upcoming Street Fighter figures might make them change their minds.

You know, appearances can be deceiving…

Juni looks like she has bigger boobs…

Then again, Capcom constantly contradicts themselves (i.e. Birdie’s race “I was sick!”, Poison’s gender, Most of the characters’ ages (Then again, ALL highschool characters never really age, lest they lose their appeal… Kyo Kusanagi’s been in high school for how long? Since 1994?)

Well the college char was Nagre (the swimmer) and the college was Gorin University, an extention of Gorin High School, although I find it odd that he’s in college and Daigo was a third year student in RS1, RS2, and PJ, but he’s supposed to be a top student, so wtf?

But yeah you’re right about the trilogy. It was obviously set up that way given the way PJ ends with Kyosuke dissapearing, and Kurow escaping from the hospital, along with everyone being first year students in RS1, and 2nd year in PJ, and then obviously graduating in year 3. RS could always have a prequel and distant sequel (after Project Justice 2)

Also what the hell school did Momo attend?

So I guess Nagre, Daigo, Kurow, and Momo are the only chars that werent 2nd year students in PJ.

And about the SF3 chars Id really would of only seen Ibuki and Elena being in there, since theyre the only ones who actually seem to be associated with being in school (and they both could attend Gorin University given their athletic abbilities, creating no need to make up another university)

Isnt R.Mika a teenager with a large bust size as well?

Although she is second to Tiffany though right, ie Tiffany is the female Capcom character with the largest bust size, but Mika is second?

I found out Edayan created R.Mika for SFA3, and he also created Sakura for SFA2, but was initialy inspired by Gouken’s daughter when creating her. Akiman created the dolls in case you were wondering Tiamat, except for Cammy, she was created by Bengus.

OH GOD !! momo is 1st year in PJ !! and obviously Gorin High School …and size does not matter

she always making fun of shoma and natsu , which actually adds plutonium to the fire , by flirting around with shoma , and gossip stuff to natsu … i dunno if momo really really liked shoma anyway

i’e :
momo :" shoma bought me a new shoes , awwww~ "

natsu goes :"  "

and

momo : eeey ! shoma you received my chocolate for valentines do you ?? * blush *

shoma : " huh !?!? "
natsu : "    "

FLAME WAR …begins …oh
momo is pro in lying …sorting out an excuse …

edit : reason that she made fun more on natsu , because momo hates big women , and natsu is the tallest girl in RS series

You think Juni’s look bigger thank Juli’s

You didn’t mention Charlie’s death!

Since she was a guy as soon as the game came out and from what I got from an employee, is still a guy, Poison’s gender actually has only been contradicted in the development stages, so I’m not sure if that really counts. Although I’m trying to remember… when did Capcom contradict any ages? Only one I can think of is Final Fight and that’s more due to ages we’ve come up with using detective work being contradicted than actual official ages being contradicted (course, the main problem and actual contradiction there being Final Fight’s actual official date, which is just starting to become rather messy…)

TAS: R. Mika isn’t a teenager. She wouldn’t dislike young people or be in training (heavily implied that she’s of age to be a pro-wrestler right NOW but she needs to find her big break) to be a pro-wrestler if she was one.

TAS - If you heard about the ‘human looking Necro’ thing from me, well, back in this Thread I did mention in my trip to Japan I picked up a Comic with Necro and his girl before they got mutated, but that was a Doujin, or a fan made/unofficial Comic. Weither or not the Artist had access to official drawings of what the two looked like before they were mutated is something I don’t know.

This is kind of disturbing. No 16 year old is that well developed. Vega’s army must have access to cosmetic “enhancements” as well as power ups.
Has anyone noticed how strange the dimensions are for the characters? There’s no way Blanka weighs less than 210 pounds, not with his bulk. And Honda is less than 350?
And look how big Ryu and Ken are. In SF3 for example, if their physique is really like that, the only way they would weigh ~150 pounds is if they were four feet tall. Emmit Smith (the running back) looks about as big as they do, he’s like 5’10 and 220.
I think the people who made those stats up completely BSed them.

Why are they returning with Ryu and no one else? Did they forget about Sagat? If they return with Ryu they might as well add everyone else.
What they really need to do is move on and leave the old cast behind.

EDIT: They picked obscure characters in that huge lineup pic. You can even see Syous the wizard from Capcom’s Dungeons and Dragons arcade game.

Ryu is returning, because he actually has a reason to this time, unlike he did in SF3, ie his story was finished in SF2, they brought him back with a weak ass story in SF3, but his new SF3 ending created an all new storyline for him, and new meaning to his character.

At the end of SF3 he started training with Oro, to become the successor of Oro’s style Senjutu, but in SF4 Ryu wont simply be Ryu with some of Oro’s moves, but he’ll have an all new style, Ansatsuken Senjutu. Expect Ryu to have massive overhaul in SF4 like that of Jin in Tekken 4, ie all new look all new style. Ryu’s style will be changed down to his basic punches and kicks, for instance Ryu’s jab wont be his (old) jab, or Oro’s jab, but more like a combination of the two, and basicly apply this process of thought to all his moves.

Now about the other chars…

The thing is, characters like Ken, Chun Li, or Akuma (or anyone else from the SF2 cast, aside from Ryu) have no reason to return in SF4. People like Ken and Chun Li have families, and cant be risking their lives in tournaments. Also they never progress, because their storylines dont allow it, ie Ken and Chun Li never train, or wont really get anymore powerful, so they are basicly stuck where they are at.

Anyways I believe the SF world will always have three Ansatsuken types.

Master
Advanced Student
Student In Training

SF4 will more than likely be like this (from what Ive heard)

Ryu - After training with Oro (which he started doing at the end of SF3) he will have ungone a radical change (he will replace Akuma, as the master type char)

Sean - Will have developed his style to fullest so that its no longer half assed, and it will be more stylistic than it was in SF3 (he will replace Ken and Ryu, as the advance student type)

Mel Masters - Will be fairly young, and will have a Ansatsu type style, but one diffrient than anyone ever seen before, will rely more on his physical moves and more than likely wont have half developed ki techniques (will replace Sean and Sakura, as the student in training type char)
