Warriors Fate: Street Fighter story thread, revived

What are the 12 Dolls again?

I read somewhere, probably cammyfan.com that each had a name, a description, and a specialty.

The Twelve Dolls are Twelve 16 year old girls from different countries that Vega (the dictator) kidnapped and brain washed. Each of there names corresponds to the name of a month. Juni and Juli are the ones in the game.

(Spanish for January) Enero - From Spain - Communications

(French for Feb.) Fevrier - From France - Fire Arms

(German for March) Marz - From Germany - Computer Specialist

(Italian for April) Aprile - From Italy - Medic

(Japanese for May) Satsuki - From Japan - Sword Weilder

(German for June) Juni - From Germany - Silent Killer with a high amount of Psycho power

(German for July) Juli - From Germany - Cold hearted Assasin

(Viet Namese for Aug.) Santamu - Spear Weilder

(Chinese for Sep.) Xiayu - From China - Nunchucks

(Chinese for Oct.) Jianyu - From China - Quarter Staff

(Native American for November. Well, not really…) Noembulu - From Mexico - Twin Hatchets

(Russian for December) Decapre - From Russia - Looks like Cammy but wears a mask like Balrog (the ninja)

long time no post

So the story behind Yun in SFA3 is that he somehow went back in time? I never thought that Crawfish would actually bother to explain his appearence…

Bear with me for a second as this may be common knowledge to some but I don’t play SF3 Second Impact - Giant Attack much (I like SF3 Third Strike and CVS2 a whole lot more) so I wanted to bring this up.

Finally got to fight Gouki in the Game. Since I was playing with Ryu, he Shun Gokusatsued Ken (Ryu’s Final Boss) instead! Now, when the ending credits ran, it showed Gouki lying on the ground in Ken’s Stage! That made me laugh out loud! But after the Credits ran, his body started flashing like a Disco Ball??? What the Hell was that?!! I guess Capcom’s way of showing you he ain’t dead yet? I dunno…

Thanks, sano.

Did Cammy have a specific purpose other than Bison’s (Vega’s) potential host body?

Blanka was actually called “hombre blanco”, which means white man in spanish. Originally, Blanka had very, very white skin and in time, I guess it went from “hombre blano” to Blanka in little Jimmy’s mind.

Well, Bison wanted Ryu’s body most of all, so Cammy’s body was actually a back-up plan in case apprehending Ryu before his Psycho Power exceeded the limits of his own body would fail. Then she became self-aware, so that idea went down the toilet as well.

Aside from that, Cammy was Bison’s top Doll. I’m not sure if he’d be so quick to dispose of her if she was still taking loyalties like a mindless robot, like he decided to do with Juni and Juli. Of all of Bison’s assassins, her skills come second only to Vega.

Oh yeah, speaking of Blanka, I have to ask again. How did he get himself registered for the tournament in SF2? I’ve yet to read something that makes sense of it. Was the tourney an offer given to him by some guy who thought he looked qualified because he looks like a brute?

So is Blanka actually a Brazilian, or does he just live there? If he’s not Brazilian, where is he from? I have the same question for Oro. I heard somewhere that Oro is actually Japanese, but he lives in Brazil by choice.

Another tier question regarding the SF3 characters:

We all know that Gill would never intentionally LOSE or hold his end of a bargain unless he saw some interesting potential in his opponents (excluding Urien), right? Well, with that said…

Although Yun and Yang most likely faced Gill as a team, they did manage to impress him in Third Strike, didn’t they? I seriously doubt they could’ve done this and gained leadership of their town if they were ‘teen nobodies’, so that should be a good enough reason to place them in Tier 6. After all, Birdie impressed Bison so that he could be in Shadaloo, and he isn’t considered a ‘grown-up nobody’ like Honda and Blanka.

And in Ibuki’s defense: I know Ibuki retrieving the G-file from Gill IS conjecture, but wouldn’t it make sense that he wouldn’t give it to her if he didn’t think she was good enough? Anyone less skilled would be a waste of his time and get knocked the fuck out. Another Tier 6 nominee.

By far, the only one aside from Alex remembered to have possibly impressed Gill due to performance alone was Dudley, so I think it’s only fair to apply that sort of luck to the other characters mentioned.

Still don’t know how to place anyone who doesn’t have major storyline interactions (IE, basically everyone ‘down there’), but I believe imagine it’s a lot easier to get away with impressing Gill than it is to impress M. Bison. The fact that Birdie was able to do it at all is practically a miracle in my eyes, given M. Bison’s tendency to… er, kill anyone that looks in his remote direction. Yea, Vega and Balrog and Sagat got away with it, but Vega’s speed is officially as fast as Chun-Li (as well as sadistic, which apparently struck a chord with M. Bison :p) and Balrog can kill an elephant and Sagat is… well, Sagat, so they have better chances. Course, not that I’m very sure of that, either. I dunno how impressionable Gill is, too. Maybe he’s a hard ass also, or maybe not, but he always seemed rather laid back (relatively speaking) to me.

Bear with my hardly playing SF3 Second Impact self for just a bit more…

Figured out what the flashing Gouki was all about. I put in an all gaming day for New Years Day, and after many tries I got to fight Shin Gouki! After you beat Gouki, he starts flashing (like he did in the ending you get if you just beat Gouki) gets up, his hair turns white and the background gets dimmer! I beat him but he was tough! He triple Parried my Shinku Hadoken twice!! Now that’s a smart Ass AI!!!

Wondering about the Blanka/Oro question myself. Blanka’s real name is Jimmy, so I always thought he originally was Caucasian. If he was Latino Jimenez would be a better fit, but a name’s just a name and does not necessarily have to imply race.

Oro means gold in Spanish, but it’s a word in Japanese too. Well, Rurouni Kenshin’s always saying it…

That’s interesting.

Especially considering Brazil’s official language is Portuguese NOT Spanish.

Just thought I would toss that little nugget out there.

Good catch lol. In portugese Hombre Blanco turns into Homem Branco I think. Or something like that.

I was wondering, can any fully translate Rainbow Mika’s banner in the background of her stage? I can only “read” the katakana:

[Kanji][Kanji][Kanji]50[Kanji][Kanji]Puroresuringushoo

And the slew of tiny kanji beneath it. Just wondering.

Well, I can’t read any Japanese at all, but “Puroresuringushoo” Translates into “Pro-Wrestling Show” I think.

Puro - pro
resuringu - wrestling
shoo - show

Yeah, I pretty much guessed that since it was in Katakana, thus equaling “Engrish”. However, this makes it easier since I don’t need to translate it now.

In SLIGHT defense of “Branco” - The letters “L” and “R” seem almost interchangable or sound alike in Japanese. Examples off the top of my head - once saw Video Game art by the Evangelion artist entitled “Fatal Fuly” and I’ve also seen the Anime “Fooly Cooly” called “Furry Curry.”

Overall, Blanka is still a better name than Lawrence Blood who’s suppose to be from Spain.

Here I am, with once again, another bizarre occurence that could possibly NOT exist (And is probably one of the stupidiest things I’ve ever said on the thread).

Cap of USA wanted to refer to Guile when they translated Slammasters 1, however, when they realized “We fucked up big time.”, they probably made Dean a “famous street fighter” too! (Without considering that Skull Cross had brutally murdered his family. Someone should check if Dean is a famous street fighter in the Japanese version of Final Fight Tough).

And also, in the series of “Unlikely Candidates to be Q”, I bring to you, DEAN!

He’s mysterious, supposedly not completely human, then why not bring back the character even LESS human than he was before!

Okay, so that was stupid, but anyway…

Also, wouldn’t the Bushin style be quite young to only have had 39 masters? Considering that the title changed hands 2 times in less than 20 years (I think, but Zeku doesn’t seem THAT old and Genryusai musn’t have been that old to have Maki being younger than Guy). Therefore, that just screws even further the prophecy of Bushin. Probably some old tale the 1st master of Bushin told himself to gratify his style more.

People wonder if Dean’s even human or part human, but that has yet to be made into a concrete fact. For all we know, he just wields ki in the form of electricity like Benimaru. I’d be surprised as hell if he wasn’t purely human, not to mention if he came back in the form of Q. It’d be nice to see him make a comeback, though.

Hey, that reminds me… if Q’s enigmatic appearance is hintful enough that he could be on Ryu’s level, what about Dean and his mysteriousness? Does that mean he’ll always be at least a tier higher than Guy and Cody no matter what tier THEY’RE in? Just a thought.

Point to Grenade Falcon on this one. I only exist in this thread to pull completely off-the-wall theories out of my ass. But hey, makes more sense than Balrog being Q, don’t you think?
