Game Genie and GAMESHARK PRO!!! were awesome, but you could use them on… EVERY GAME YOU OWN.
Both of them were essentially hardware hex editors, meaning that they gave you access to data that you could not otherwise access. If I were a console gamer, it would be worth it to me to pay $15, possibly more depending on how fully featured it is, for a full-blown hex editor that launches in all games made by Capcom. See, that would be something I COULD USE. If I felt like infinite life, I’d have infinite life. If I felt like seeing what happened when you melee with ammo equipped, then I’d do that and probably crash the game. But the thing is, I’d have a tool instead being one.

Im so sick of seeing shit like “if you don’t like it don’t pay for it” or “they’re not forcing you to buy it”. I wont buy it but thousands of other people will, sending the message to this company that it is ok to charge for shit like this. Just like the costumes and colors in recent fighting games. I bet more than half of you dopes in this thread paid for that shit. In doing so you sent a message to the company that its ok to charge for shit that once was free. Not really. Its a HEX editor, completley different. With HEX Editors I can do things like see unused dialouge/weapons/settings in games.
Charging people 5-10$ to unlock things already on the disc but unattainable otherwise is fucking ridiculous. I’m surprised Capcom doesn’t have online passes in all their games now considering how greedy they are.
Last gen, games were polished, finished products. Everything was on the disc. This gen, games get published half-finished purposely(Fallout/Call of Duty series for example) and then get a shitload of patches and “DLC” 99% of the time purposely cut from the game, just so they can milk the sheep of the videogame population.

I don’t like DLC myself, but this DLC is meaningless. It isn’t like RE5’s DLC.Then again I bought the gold edition for 40$.It was a steal.

I bought a game genie for Street Fighter 2 to play as the bosses…that was the ONLY time cheating was worth paying for.
Charging for things that let the player have some silly fun like Big head mode or infinite ammo is ridiculous IMO.
Honestly its like going to the movies and being charged for the extra scene they add after the credits…and yet some people would pay for it. :rolleyes:
