Nah, you just owned the Genesis. SNES was for girls and homosexuals.
Don’t get me wrong. Genesis was (And still IS thank you.) Godly material. It is what they should be doing now a days, but nobody has enough nuts in their sack for it. They HAD to make the system cases light and dark simply because 1:) not everyone worships the same God and 2:) they were destined to do battle, therefore they should have their own appearance by which to be identified easily by their faithful followers. Try that today.
***Insert name here: ***“Hey!! I’ve got a new red, blue and gold PS3!!”
Everyone else: "…So? " It just don’t work. Now, think back to saying that with the SNES or Genesis.

But there is a difference in “buy this pack to unlock stuff instantly rather than earning it” and “buy this to unlock it period”. I’m fine if people want to buy stuff because they’re lazy… but this? C’mon, man. That shit is wack.
I feel really nerdy and old that I got this. I wonder how many other people did too.
That Alien TC was still a bitch for not allowing cheats. Fuck you, WADer.
Just curious, do you think its fucking ridiculous when software companies let you download trial versions of their software then lock you out after x number of days? The whole program is on your hard disk, why should you have to pay for it, right?
Why pay for cheats? Isn’t it a simple google to jailbreak to install via flash drive or what ever? Paying for cheats is for suckas!
Delete the cheat string changes in the deh. Problem solved.
Do you honestly see these things as being the same?
He isn’t really talking about expansion content, as it was known a few years back, and had been so known for many years prior, but rather about content that was part and parcel of well made games up until said few years back. Content that was put into the game to make it more awesome, and ensure its being a hit e.g. the second world in Zelda, the Chicago Typewriter in Resident Evil 4, playable character Richter in Symphony of The Night.
Now, companies charge extra for that shit.
…and strip down the coinciding game to a barebones package, while still passing it off as a complete experience as worthy of your $60 as were those epic game from just a few years back that actually included all of that cool shit in the initial package - in fact HAD TO, in order to be the hits they were.
Games that didn’t have cool shit like that were, justifiably, considered inferior works, and were quite often overlook, or at best bought out of the bargin bin.
This new trend of companies charging additional funds on top of the $60 initial investment in order to transform a game into a truly fuckin’ cool package, is flat out cannibalistic avarice, and eventually it is going to destroy the very market that sustains them.

Yeah I do. It really shouldn’t matter to consumers whether DLC content is actually on the disc or not. Software is intangible, and simply having a storage device with data on it doesn’t mean you own all of it. I am definitely no fan of DLC, I’m just saying that whether or not you actually download DLC, or simply unlock it is a pointless distinction. We all probably have tons of software on our computers that doesn’t allow us to use features that are part of the program you have saved on your computer and we don’t cry foul. I don’t see any reason for game publishers to be held to a different standard.
I guess its easy to feel ripped off when that content is something that would have never been sold separately from the original game 5-10 years ago, but we also expect developers to patch console games post release even though we don’t pay any sort of subscription fee that many other software companies require for that kind of service. I don’t know the economics of the situation, so I just don’t buy DLC in protest, especially when so much of it is pure garbage (3sOE).
But the thing with patches is, games didn’t need them back then. Or, if they did, they tanked harder than Blitzwing with a broken tail.

ha I thought about that right after I posted. I have to agree, games definitely feel like they are released in a less finished state these days.
enternetz iz srz bznz.
I would pay for the last weapon I am missing in EDF Insect Armageddon. One achievement away and I farmed every night for weeks trying to get the weapon I was missing.
Fuck all this noise. If I wanna unlock stuff, I’m doing it free. It’s called a USB drive, Modio, and 5 minutes.
Max XP/LVL, 999,999,999,999,999 money, whatever I want.
This is nothing new. They do this stuff with Capcom Arcade app. They want like 99 cents for some cheats for SFII.
I can’t wait for SFxT to have Training Mode as DLC and see whether people take up white knighting for the game or Capcom. “You don’t NEED training mode because it’s stupid easy,” or “Fucking Capcom. How am I supposed to learn my ABC’s?”
You have to do more than not buy the DLC. They still got your $60 for the game. The only message you’re sending to them is that you don’t want costumes and colors.
DLC in itself is not a bad idea. When they announced they were going to do this stuff they said that it would increase your gameplay time by adding new levels or whole expansions like fallout and gta and most of the people were hyped for it including me. I don’t have a problem with this dlc because it is developed after the game and it adds a shitload of content making it worth your 15-20$. But now most of the businesses are abusing it by adding crap instead of making something worthwhile.
Holy shit you guys will bitch about ANYTHING. Gamers are some of the most entitled babies i have ever seen.
I don’t recall having to use Game Genie/Game Shark/Action Replay to get cheats in most of my games.
Turok, GTA, Golden Eye, Sonic 2, Super Mario Bros, Gauntlet, Guitar Hero, etc.
How about Justin Bailey? And unlocking cheats? Doesn’t that beat the purpose of the “cheat”.
We “bitch” because we are gamers and we care where our hobby will end up 3 years down the line. If we don’t complain it goes down the shit hole if we complain there is at least a small chance for a change.
