Sorry sorry, I forgot to mention that Street Fighter is srs biznss and I consider saying anything negative about my character to be a personal attack on me.

But in all seriousness how can you say it isn’t disrespectful when you just give up like that. Like I?m taking 4 hours out of my day to help you learn characters and get better and get used to playing with people, but it feels like you won?t do the same for me. You used to say ?if this was at a tournament I would actually try? all the time if your Gen lost to me. Which to me is basically like you think: 1) There?s nothing new I can teach you about the matchup. 2) I?m not a player on your level, a ?tournament level? player, so I?m not worth your time. 3) You aren?t willing to try to teach ME to get better and play against tournament strategy because it would be too much effort to put in.

Playing online I?ve thrown my pad plenty of times and said ?fuck this game.? But when I play against you guys the only time I get mad is if I feel like I was free to you, that I was dull and predictable in my gameplay, and not worth 198 seconds of your life. Like when I play my Makoto, I feel bad because all I do is focus dash karakusa and jump fierce, and that really won?t teach you anything, even though you?re helping me learn her.

In summary, Venomish was a god damn saint. It was clear he totally outclassed me, and he said ?fuck Blanka? a million times, but he never sandbagged a round or asked me to character change. I only played a total of four times against him but he made me a much better player. He made spending time in training mode blocking Hasanshu on reaction fun. I?m not asking you to be like Venomish, or refrain from saying ?fuck Blanka,? but rage quitting in the middle of the round all the time, I’m sorry but that is just bullshit.

I really don’t mean to be an asshole like that, and I don’t think anything bad about anyone here (except for my own play) and I don’t mean anything I do to come across as disrespectful.

I loose focus badly a lot of the times and make a lot of stupid errors and a lot of it has to do with my casual approach to most matches. I’m sorry it comes across as “ragequitting” or “sandbagging” or anything like that, but I tend to give up on myself when I realize how bad I’m playing and a that happens quite a bit when I loose focus.
I remember commenting on how much better I play in a tourney setting because the “win or stop playing” mentality makes me focus better then I can ever make myself do normally, even when I loose a match like that I don’t feel bad about how I played because I know that I did my best. I didn’t mean that to ever be a put-down to anyone, more then anything it was a self-observation/excuse for being so scrubby at times.

If you want help with something or want to know something I’d be more then happy to help, I don’t usually think about matches as anything serious or try to help because I don’t feel like I have much to “teach” or whatever, I try giving advise from time to time but I feel like it just comes across as me pretending I’m some sort of SF master and it usually gets ignored (except for the one time I told Tony to shoryuken more…that was really weird for me)

I understand exactly why your upset and I’m truly sorry…if you want me to take casuals seriously I’ll try, but you shouldn’t feel like I’m attacking you personally because the only person whose play I feel like I have the right to be critical of is my own

I totally get what you’re saying about blanka Jacob cause its really annoying when I hear shoto hate etc. and I do totally accept that Blanka is a legit character. I’d take it as a compliment actually to be honest, cause everyone’s totally free to your Blanka (well maybe just me? not keepin track), kinda like when Venomish (shout outs to Venomish) was here and he totally raped and everyone called Chun over-powered. For me its just joking around tho (at least I really don’t think that chun/blanka are op). He’s just a solid character and yours is really polished. I think I can only beat you with Ryu during the first couple hours of the night cause thats when I can mix you up and use all MY TOOLS MAYNE. So your post probably wasn’t directed at me, but I have a couple of objections noe the less.

First, if you felt like last night was a concesion of time, there was no reason you had to be there. You were in fact welcome to come and go anytime within that four hours that Mike could host. So if you had other things to do, or if you thought it was a waste of your time, the only one to blame is yourself.

Second, if anyone there wants help with a certain match-up, they’ll let you know. i.e. I’ve heard Chris ask for a certain match-up, even just for a round if the other person would rather switch. I doubt I’m the only one offended by the tone you’ve aquired here, that you’re taking one for the team by playing an unpopular character against everyone.

Third, I’m not sure why you’re taking a night of casuals so seriously. If you’re looking for everyone to play their “tournament level best” I know I won’t feel welcome. Even if you think its more “respectful” to play at the level against you, you might not feel that way after it happens. I’m not going to entertain the thought of me playing with any level of seriousness until i own a system(another month with any luck). I do however really enjoy playing casually with everyone. I’m just happy that people don’t mind playing against me, or giving up a controller to me, because I know I’m about as free a match as it gets. As far as I know, everyone is there because they enjoy playing, it is a game after all.

Fourth, maybe i’ve missed it, but I don’t think I’ve ever heard any “smack talk” that was in anyway serious. I see a lot of sarcastic humor, and a lot of joking go on, about which characters are good and which characters people hate, even here on the forum, so once again, why are you taking it so seriously, and why are you singling out people at all? Especially if you pose a question, don’t hate the messenger for trying to give you a legitimate answer.

Like i’ve said, i’m confused as to what exactly has upset you so much, because it sounds like this is just somewhere to shove your anger about something else. I hope the scene has not become so inhibiting that you can’t say, “hey i want to get a couple of serious rounds in against your (insert main character here),” and not get an honest answer and match. if you would like another response before tomorrow please text me, since im at work until i don’t know when.

BB:CS seems really fun, Hazama and Tsubaki are both really cool additions to the cast and the balance doesn’t seem as retarded as CT’s. I’m not sure if I want to main Taokaka or Tsubaki when the game drops but I’ve still got a month to decide. If nothing else I always liked BB:CS’s online play, not perfect or as good as GGPO but still very playable compared to what I’m used to with SF4
…and isn’t DSP only popular because people like to see him play like shit and blow up over it? At least Daigo’s fans are actually fans

Well it looks like my final preparations for the move are set and so I won?t be able to attend any more meetings this summer :frowning: ;_; :(. I think theres something up with SSF4’s replay channel thing that favors people on your friends list; because two replays of John came up really early on me just now…and there was that one time over at Chris’s where a replay of me came up first thing even though I’d only played ranked for one night
